The alternator isn't supposed to charge until the glow plugs turn off, which is usually 15 seconds to a minute after they start if I remember correctly. The battery light is a sign of failing alternator though... You definitely fixed the issue.
Yea I would have no headlights etc by the time I got to work when it puked all the way😂
I have a 96 12v reg cab 4wd that has 498000 miles on it that i daily drive.
That exhaust pipe tip screams "I'm an a*shole".

@@nick7.398 No, I just thought maybe you didn't know that.
@@chrisdockman7237 lol im just messin, yea honestly I wouldnt of installed this big of a tip myself but it was already on it when I got it so why change it
i really wouldn’t mind it. I wonder if you could swap in a king ranch interior from like a 16 heated steering wheel, ac / heat seats , dashboard too man that would be a game changer you see pics on instagram here and there. not sure if that’s a weekend warrior project someone average could take on tho
Its quite a bit of work especially for full dash, I love my KR 6.7 but I don’t want this one to be a KR because of the color
I got a 1999 ford dually with 7.3 . Best truck Ford ever made! Daily driver
02 7.3 201k excursion 4x4 limited, daily driver and it doesn't miss a beat!
I daily a 01 7.3 excursion limited with 195k as well she’s been pepped up it was so slow! Now with a 180/30 and a new kc turbo she moves good but dang my mileage sucks 😂
Just got my 7.3 4x4 and it’s my first diesel badass truck
Congratulations!
Same bro
@@samuelisaac3067 how u like it?
Sweet looking truck! What spacers are you running on it?
Thank you they are 2” rough countrys
Run archoil oil additive it keeps injectors from sticking and helps on cold starts. I have a E99 with 330,000 miles runs great
Cold starts without it too, I never use additives ever other than anti gel
Me looking at my 30yr old IDI that leaks oil like crazy. Doesn’t like cold at all. Electric fuel system, & gutless.
love the front end swap, the 05-07 fronts look way better than the 99-04 imo
Absolutely, tbh 99-04 is classy too but on this truck I had to do the 05 swap
@@nick7.398 I like the 02-04 with fog lights oem lights and the 02-07 signal beam mirrors (they look really cool in the night) Currently looking for the style that you previously had on this truck but oem (mirrors) lol

@@2003-2fitty yes you have to have the lights on ur stock mirror for them to work
Ford 7.3 is hard to beat in my opinion ... solid trucks all the way around. I have owned lots of them and still do and probably will long term lol
Me too I plan on having a 7.3 as a back up truck possibly forever
The only thing bad about the older trucks is the steel body the running gear is far superior
Bad? I don't wanna beercan truck. Its gotta be steel to be a truck. You think it won't rust, but are you aware of corrosion? That weak aluminum "truck" will turn into a cauliflower.
Do you have a link for those clear headlights? Good looking truck. I got me a 03 and I am starting to to do a 05 grille swap.
They are randoms on ebay/amazon they were like $70-100 tbh all are the same. Lasfit LED bulbs tho
Thank ya imma order some prolly tomorrow

I love 7.3’s, I have an 01 with 93k miles
Awesome, me too. Love a low miles one especially
I have a 2000 F250 7.3 quad cab in the same color. Wondering if you have upgraded your headlights and if you have, what are they?
I did a full 2005 front clip swap with clear headlights, lasfit led bulbs.
I’m a sucker for reg cabs, mine is obs
Awesome!! Such low miles for the age.
Yes sir thats why I had to have it, that and the fact that its a single cab manual
My 2000 is my daily driver with 421,XXX runs just fine and still pulls like when I bought it with 134,XXX in 2007. These are million mile engines no reason to get ride of one.
Yessir I hope I am saying the same about this in a few years shes got 103 rn
@@nick7.398 You will .... all they need are good oil and changed often I do every 5k with fuel filter change too... plus Archoil additive to the oil. Biggest mod to do is the fuel cross over line on the back cylinders that will prevent your Number 8 injector from going out. If you need new injectors go back to the OBS mid 90s single shot injectors better performance and sounds better.
@@madogllewellyn I forgot about the oil cross over I did that on my last 7.3
@@nick7.398 he's talking about the FRX not the oil crossover which is less important
Hey Nick. Planning on having my body redone on my 2001 f250. Was the front grill/headlight/bumper swap very hard. Also what year did you use regarding the grill/headlights and bumper. Did you have to modify anything to make the newer year parts ro fit
Its all parts from a 05-07 truck. You need headlights, headlights plug adapters grille bumper and header panel it takes like 30 mins
@@nick7.398OK. Thanks.

With the radio, boss isn't known for the best all around. If you go with a better double din radio, you will have better luck.
This is a double din radio, idc about radios tbh I would use stock one if it was in it
Bros voice is permanently stuck in the key of E minor 😂
How did you wire the mirrors? Looking to put the same ones on my 2000!
Quick run down:
Tap inti brown wire on the light switch for power, run power underneath dash and thru rubber grommets on door, run power to blue wire on mirror harness, then I grounded the black wire on harness to the door skin. If you want to wire up the turn signal you need to tap into headlights but I just did the running light
I daily a 99.5 7.3 4r100 crew cab long bed w 8” lift and 37’s 45 min each way to work. Best
Haha my last truck (red crew cab short bed) was a 99 170k automatic that I drove 35 min each way daily on highway, solid trucks!
I daily a 03 ccsb 8" lift on 37 too 😂😂 only 112k miles on it right now.
@michealortiz3350 the best! I haven't listened to the radio since I heard the sound of a 7.3. Music to my ears
👍💪
With 105k it's still new
Yes sir🫡
Going out on a limb here but I’m gonna say it’s probably the same in 2024 as it was in 2000, just a guess though
No not at all, 24 years of wear and tear
@@nick7.398 Wear and tear varies with the owner(s). My daily driver for a few years was a 50 year old maintained Mercedes. But then it was a Mercedes and not a Ford I suppose.
What percent tint are your side windows. I know you mentioned 30 percent windshield tint.
Sides are 15 going to 5% eventually probably. Back glass is 5
So for a all around truck which is better 1995 f250 or 2000 f250 offroading hauling good mpg when not towing idc about halling people thats the job of the sedan.
Obs look better but superduty is better, they are intercooled, bigger injectors, stronger interior and trans. They also have better front axles on the f250 compared to obs f250
@@nick7.398 Im gonna be building one like you'res stock looking but some upgrades like a tuner for mpg mode and a trailer mode Im gonna keep the 7.3 Powerstroke stock but add a better downpipe and exhaust. In front of both back wheels the bed is rusted. Is that from winter driving?
Yes its spent 22 years in ohio now its a Michigan truck I have a new bed for it

Rear main seal leaking on a 7.3 at 100k? Possibly, but doubtful. Probably the oil powered cylinder for the butterfly vavle you deleted. Mine leaked the same way at 63k miles. Does look like a main seal but its 98% of the time not. Sometimes HPOP, or turbo ped seals. Just did oil cooler seals, valve cover gaskets, water pump.
It very well could be honestly whole back of motor was wet. I knew pan was bad bc rust hole so I had to pull engine, didnt know if it was pedistal or rear main, figured id do both while its out. And hes I did valve cover gaskets glow plugs and oil cooler while I was at it!
