  • I bought this item from Ebay, knowing that 300000mah is absolutely impossible for a power bank weighting around 300 grams, so I took it apart and had a look inside.
    If you like my video's, please subscribe to my channel; that would be awesome!

    Thumbs up for proving what I already knew, while making it a little entertaining. Also, when you were taking apart the power bank, you said something about the device dying, which made me think of a very popular statement from the 007 franchise. That statement being "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

    What's written on the battery (probably more accurate than the seller's rated claim) is the 'theoretical maximum'. And since the rated output is 5v, with these being 3.7v batteries, that means they're wired in series, giving you 7.4v at 4000mah. The regulator on the electronics board, through heat loss and inefficiency, will stop the voltage down to 5v.
    But the CAPACITY is still only 4000mah - in other words, maybe 1.5x to 2x the battery in your phone. Remember, your PHONE already uses some of the best battery technology available - the phone manufacturers want to be able to claim great battery life. Why would anyone expect that two batteries, about the size of the one in their phone, would be 50 to 100 times the capacity?
    This is a 4,000mah (at best) battery bank. To claim it's a 300,000mah bank is criminal.

      Its a little bit different Jim.
      The cells are parallel connected.
      Max voltage is 4.2 Volt.
      The regulator is a step up converter, normally these converters are 90 to 95 percent efficient due to low voltage difference. ;-)
      4 Ah on (nominal cel voltage) 3.6 or 4Ah on 7.2 Volt is twice the power it can deliver.
      Better is to show Watts per hour the powerbank can deliver.
      Maybe in the future with a fuel cell we have the advertised power. ;-)

    I got this exact solar charger and it works great. Charged it via the supplied USB cable and a power adapter overnight.
    I let my Samsung phone run down to 20% and plugged it into the solar charger. I timed it and it took 1.5 hours to fully charge my phone. I used my phone like I normally do; let run down to 40%. I timed it at 8.5 hours. Plugged the phone into the solar charger again. I had not charged the solar charger. I timed it again and it took 1.5 hours to fully charge my phone again.
    I recommend this solar charger.

    Great video, I like your sense of humor. LMAO @ 6:34... "asfely" ... :D .. I too ran across these chargers on ebay. There are thousands of them for sale, all look the same except for different colors and lots of different numbers for mAh. I even saw one that said 500,000 mAh. The batteries that power my RV are 220A (220,000 mAh) total and weigh 66 pounds (30 kg) each (132 lbs total)... I saw these silly chargers on ebay and thought, no way in hell they can be that powerful and that small!

    You can get a decent solar panel system these days for $200 to $300 for a small amount of power. You need a battery to store the power. If you have around 20 sq ft of space for it. A little bigger than 5 ft by 4 ft.
    These small units are not going to do anything for you.
    The batteries in these units are all very small. It's basically junk. Get a good name brand power pack from 10,000 mah to 20,000 mah.
    You can get a 50,000 mah but it is huge and heavy.

    Is 3,000,000 mah power bank possible?

  • @artsmith103
    @artsmith103 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Agree that 300,000mAh is impossible but even 8,000 is useful. I have a quality 7,500 mAh backup and it's wonderful. I have a small 200mAh power supply I use with my phone. Sometimes it can't keep up with bright video playing. So figure your phone averages around 100mAh. You can see the solar panel is almost useless considering ~5 PeakEq hrs per day. Consider it's 10,000Ah backup with light and solar panel that will provide 25% of your power. Charge overnight with 1amp. Maybe this specific unit is lower quality than others. Mine is still arriving. ...I'll update later.

    Bonjour,
    Je remarque sur l'emballage, il est indiqué 40C Donc les 300000mAh /40 = 7500mAh serait la capacité réelle de la batterie avec 2 éléments. Ce serait des LIPO 2S donc avec une tension maxi de 8.4 volts. Tension nécessaire pour avoir une possibilité de charge de 5Volts sur les 2 prises USB; Ceci est donc plus vraisemblable. Ceci étant, une lipo 2s de cette capacité( 7500 mAh) ne doit rentrer dans ce boitier.
    Cordialement. RJOSS France

      FURIOUSDESTROYER XD 8,000 mAh is fine if it delivers that much. A small backup from the drug store is 2200mAh. If it charges and discharges for you its a win. Use a 1.5W solar panel with cigarette lighter converter if you really need solar. 200mAh solar is kind of useless. Camping that might supply 25-50% of daily use.

    Great video. I bought something similar to this on ebay. An XDragon 300,000 mAh solar power bank. It only charges my phone 1.5 times so I think it has the same 8000 mAh capacity. Check what reply I got from the seller when I asked for a refund.
    "Sorry to hear that the item is not work well. I reported your situation to our technical staff, he said that the capacitance will be lost during voltage boosting and in transmission through its internal circuit, the USB cable and your device etc. Unavoidably. The actual effect has a great relation with the resistance value of all the devices it is connected. Hope this may not cause you too much trouble. As a small seller, we value every customer and yu are really matter to us."

      Buy a bank from a reputable supplier (Argos in UK, Amazon, etc)

    OK. Nu zetten we je op een onbewoond eiland. Het duurt een paar minuten in de zon voordat je met je mobieltje een noodoproep kunt doen. En 3 dagen zon voor de accu's vol zijn en je je tablet helmaal kunt opladen.
    Vindt je het dan nog steeds total garbage en smijt je het ding in zee?

    • @basvandersluis5662
      @basvandersluis5662  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hehe. Dat ligt er aan of er een bierbrouwinstallatie op dat eiland is. Als dat er is, heb ik mijn telefoon niet meer nodig. :P
      Maar serieus: met dit ding duurt het geen paar minuten voordat je een noodoproep kunt doen. Het zonnepaneel levert zo weinig stroom en het oplaadcircuit en de knipperende ledjes verbruiken zoveel, dat het een maand duurt voordat er genoeg stroom uit kan komen om je telefoon 2% op te laden.

    • @driewiel
      @driewiel 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Misschien is dat model total garbage. Ik kocht er een bij de Action. Kost 7 Euro nogwat en is 2000mAh. Volgens tests duurt het 2-3 dagen in de zon voordat hij redlijk vol is. Hij laadt mijn 7 inch android tablet op voor zeg 60%. Omdat het iets meer mag heb ik er nu een besteld van 15.000mAh. We zullen het met een korreltje zout nemen. Iets van 8000mAh zal het eerder zijn.
      Ook daar zijn tests van en in theorie is die ook vol in zo'n 2-3 dagen.
      Ik verwacht geen wonderen. Maar als ik mijn tablet 1x kan voltaken per 3 dagen door alleen de zon, dan ben ik er uiterst happy mee. Mijn eenvoudige telefoon, jeweet wel, waar je mee kunt bellen en that's it, zal vrijwel onmiddelijk werken door het zonnepaneeltje. Dus ik kan mijn moeder bellen als ik met mijn fiets in een ravijn lig. Is dat leuk of niet?
      En ik weet niet of je speciaal dit modelletje total garbage vindt of al die dinge? Ik vind ze best handig. De praktijk zal het leren.
      En oh. Je hebt gelijk wat betreft die lampjes. Heb je geen volle zon dan dek je het paneel af. Op die van de Action brandt enkel een groen lampje. Die blauwe lampjes alleen als je de toets indrukt. Dus als je de bierbrouwerij draaiende wilt houden dan hupsakee, 7 Euro bij de Action en je hebt je koele alcoholische versnapering.

    • @basvandersluis5662
      @basvandersluis5662  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Power Banks zijn zeker handig en ik heb er ook een aantal. Sommige zijn goed, sommige wat minder, maar dit exemplaar was een gevaar voor alle apparaten waar het mee in aanraking kwam. Wellicht dat sommige solar power banks wat efficienter zijn, maar mijn ervaring is dat in geen geval dusdanig efficient is dat de power bank binnen een paar uur weer is opgeladen. Laat staan een paar dagen. Stel dat in het beste geval het zonnepaneel de accu met 50mA weet te laden, dan doet ie er dus 100 uur over (in de volle zon) om 5000mAh te laden. Met 8 uur zon per dag ben je bijna twee weken bezig.

    300.000 mAh? at 5 volts? That's around 1.5kWh of energy right there. Enough to power your electric cooker for an hour. 5 of these are equivalent to teslas 3500$ home battery capable of powering your entire house! I couldn't believe that they actually claimed this and searched for their ebay page. They DO! they also got this funny note at the bottom: "Note: 300000 mah is a theoretical capacity from the company.You can charge 4-10 times(depending on your phones conversion rate) at one go. we guarantee 3-4 times of charging capability."so their 1.5kWh battery bank can only guarantee 14wh... And they sold this 347 times! With a 97.8% positive feedback! HOW?

      Most buyers are clueless. They prefer to believe that they've managed to magically cram the capacity of two car batteries into a bank the size of a phone, than use a tiny bit of logic and think, if most phones of this size are 3000-5000mah, it's probably not bigger than 10,000mah.
      Personally I'm still shocked that they can so blatantly LIE about the capacity. In any civilised country this would be pulled from the market for false advertising.

    Another clue that an item is a scam is when there is no brand name anywhere on the item (along with an outrageous performance claim). I've seen 1 gigabyte flash drive selling for $20 that turn out to be mal-formatted. Or a AA rechargeable lithium battery with a capacity of 9000mah.

    So 300,000 = 8000! Hmm. Is this an eBay phenomenon? I presume (but don't know) that Amazon would be more honest.
    The lesson seems to be - avoid powerbanks that give rediculously high values for mAh.

  • @ScorpionRegent
    @ScorpionRegent 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I saw a something that looked exactly the same on Ebay claiming to be 900000mah and made in America for about $16. They didn't say exactly where it's made or by what company. If it was that impressive the company would be happy to put their name on it and be screaming from the rooftops to get brand recognition. Some one in China figures if they have an entire ocean separating them from the end user they can lie and cheat without consequence. It doesn't matter how much money you think you can save buying a product for less when you can save all your money and not buy it.
    You can often tell which products aren't worth buying by the descriptions done in incompetent english. Any one in China who speaks, reads and writes good English has better things to do that write blurbs, descriptions and tech manuals for shoddy products worth less than spit.

    I bought a similar one (because I intend to complain it was fake and get a refund on it, to help make it uneconomical to sell scammy devices) and then I cracked it open, there's only one battery in it (same thickness as the two here) and it's about 2/3 of the overall size, with plenty of empty space around it in the case. No capacity written on it though and haven't measured it yet (time for bed and don't trust it while I'm asleep) but I expect it will be awful.

    I have to say the 4000 mah could be just another fake....if you open the cell and it might turn out to be one small 500 mah battery with a bag of sand as weight😂. But 8000 mah is definitely way far from 30k mah anyway.Typical cheap production from China or somewhere else.Report it to eBay, get the seller in trouble and get your money back dude.

      For a normal sized USB power bank, 100,000mAh is impossible. 20,000 is more realistic. Of course you can get banks of 50,000 or 100,000 but those are more like jump starter packs for cars.

    Het lijkt er op, dat ze ook nog een percentage van het zonnepaneeltje hebben afgedekt voor design esthetica! Ik had willen zien of dit ding iets serieus op zou kunnen laden, dat had je wel kunnen laten zien, in plaats van die muis die praktisch niets gebruikt. Je gaat ook een beetje te lang door, en gezien het feit dat je je richting 't eind van de opname verbaast dat het zonnepaneeltje uberhaupt aangesloten is terwijl je erder al liet zien dat hij een LED laat reageren, illustreert wat mij betreft een beetje dat je op het laatst er zelf niet meer helemaal bij bent (otewel ''in touch'' met wat je in het begin al hebt gezegd & hebt laten zien).

      Bedankt voor de feedback. De 8.000mAh accu was verder niet super waardeloos en was in staat om een telefoon 1 of 2 keer op te laden, maar het is een schril contrast met de beloofde 300.000mAh.

      do a test, find the capacity of your phone (a quick google will tell you that) charge the aliexpres received device fully (keep an eye on it for safety reasons) now use your phone until its flat, fully charge your phone from the device, repeat that with out recharging the device until it stops charging, add up the charges and you will see the real capacity. I am not responsible for any damage the device may do to phone or home (personally i recommend binning it sent mine for a refund and never heard a thing back from wish )

    If it's a china product, it must be deceitful. Just bought one from eBay at 500,000mAh. But it is probably only at 5,000mAh. $14. You can tell how cheap it is by its material and weight. It's probably not even water proof as it claims. Bought it by desperation to secure a portable charger in preparation for Hurricane Irma. Never get to research before purchasing it. My regret.
