Just came across you and omgosh you do wonderful work on MCM furniture!!! I really enjoyed your process. Trash to treasure 100% and your staging is spot on!! Thank you
Upon my 2nd watching I am truly appreciating the prep work U did. Kinda like Ur friend at FD! The dark finish is me. Ur wife is loving it, I bet! Ciao.
And I think it was made with yellow pine, which is harder and more distinctly grained than the white pine of the new top. It’s still an amazing transformation and a great save.
hi i just found you when u worked with flipping drawers .wow this desk looks amazing!!!! you def saved this treasure !!! i also bought a oak desk..originally 90.00 us. and then they went out of business.. so on the last wkend i got it for 30 .00 score!!!! like u, it neede d work . mine was also water damage..and i had to replace the panels , sand down the sides of the drawrs to make them fit, and replace 2 drawer bottoms... i sanded down the top , due to mold and chipped varnish . but i left the rest alone...i did give the whole desk a fresh but lite coat of golden oak stain and then poly over that.... as for the drawer frts it was too dark and u couldnt even see them.. so i sanded the frt but left the handles alone.. it worked perfect.. so i can relate with your project;];];]
I hope after bringing it inside in parts and gluing it all back together that were able to get it through the door again! I tried gluing a wobbily coffee table I found on the side of the road and I failed. What's your secret? I would have put a poly on it to protect your great work. I would have also stained the entire drawer inside and out.
I think you captured the essence you wee looking for. Would it have been possible to square those rounded edges on the drawers and legs, possibly with a straight cutting router bit or on a table saw? Thanks. Narragansett Bay
Looks good. Only thing I would do differently is attaching the leg with a couple of dowels instead of a screw. If someone were to add those furniture gliders(for carpet) that screw on they wouldn’t be able to because of the screw in the center. Food for thought.
Me: "NOOO! You can't replace the top with PINE, it will look awful!" You then proceed to stain the top with a deep, dark, rich stain. Also me: "Oh my God, that is GORGEOUS!!!!!"
The drawer handles are crudely bright. The wood tone seems too dark, but that's a personal opinion. The right solution with the countertop. Overall a good result, I'll give you a like.

He said spot on Bevis. 😂
Stunning. I loved the blonde wood look but the dark just made the desk Extra👌🏼👍🏼
I haven't seen dark pine furniture that often. Usually it's done in light stains. Very attractive outcome.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I love it dark. Love dark stains. U gave it a new life. Ciao.
Great job Anders 👌🎄
Thank you, my friend!
Very handsome piece now!
Thanks 😊
You took this desk from broken down trash to a show stopper! Love the pulls an stain color together. Looks awesome! 😊
Thank you! It was a fun project!
Looks like new, Anders

A fellow man of culture I see!
Beautiful rich color. Fantastic work ❤
The legs oak actually looks very much like beech 😉
You'd never suspect the new desk has been flipped from this old ruin of a pinne desk, well done 👍
And I think it was made with yellow pine, which is harder and more distinctly grained than the white pine of the new top.
It’s still an amazing transformation and a great save.
Beautiful!
Next time put a coat or two of shellac on the pine so you get a more even stain across the wood.
you should always put some proper seal after applying stain
The brass handles look great against the darker finish!
I thought so too! Thank you for watching!
Wow, I wasn't sure I was going to like the dark stain, but the oil really made a difference! Lovely job.
Thank you for watching 😀
Who knew pine could look so good?!? Beautiful!!!
Thanks Tiffany! It was a different and fun project 🙂🙏🏻
Very nice pop using stains on pine!
Looks great!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful. Pine us usually underrated. But if you look at the design in the wood you can see beauty
Agree! Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Beautifully done, and it didn't go in the landfill.😊
Thank you for watching
Those new handles kick brass! I love your videos.
Thank you Shirley 🙏🏻🙂
Great job!!
Beautiful
With soft wood like pine is good to apply pre stain conditioner before staining. I

You definitely elevated the piece. Nice job!
From Yikes! to Yowza! Beautiful color for the stain, and the brass handles are the perfect compliment to it.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Beautiful colour! I love it 😀
Thank you for watching 😄
You nailed it! - so to speak, looks great!
Thanks 😀 Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone!
I hope after bringing it inside in parts and gluing it all back together that were able to get it through the door again!

It looks great! I stained pine using a dark walnut type product & I like it. The handles you used were perfect.
Thank you 😊
great
Beautiful makeover
Thank you 🙏🏻
❤it👍🇺🇸
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! It was a different and fun project!
This turned out beautifully! Great job 👍
Thanks Chris 🙏🏻
Snyggt jobbat🎉😊
Tackar!!
Very nice work
Thanks 🙏🏻🙂
Awesome
Thank you for watching 😊
if you want to put stain on soft wood, you can first put shellac coat so it goes on evenly. then use gel stain on top
Great tip! Thanks 🙏🏻

Acculy a router is on my list to Santa this year 😀 Thank you for watching!
Jättesnyggt 👍
Tack Frida 🙏🏻🙂
I love it
Thank you! I enjoyed the process 🙂
Beautiful transformation! Love the finish and handles that you chose!

Thank you 🙏🏻
Working on desks is so rewarding! nice work!!!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Love it. Happy Christmas and happy new year.
Thank you! Happy New 2024 🙏🏻
You made this desk turn into a beautiful piece. I love it!
Thanks 🙏🏻
Looks great. Just wondering why you didn’t use teak for the top?
I did not find any top in teak or walnut as i mentioned in the video. Went for Plan B 🙂 Thank you for watching!
Looks good. Only thing I would do differently is attaching the leg with a couple of dowels instead of a screw. If someone were to add those furniture gliders(for carpet) that screw on they wouldn’t be able to because of the screw in the center. Food for thought.
Me: "NOOO! You can't replace the top with PINE, it will look awful!"
You then proceed to stain the top with a deep, dark, rich stain.
Also me: "Oh my God, that is GORGEOUS!!!!!"
A beautiful little desk. Love the handles. Love the colour.
Thank you 🙏🏻
The drawer handles are crudely bright.
The wood tone seems too dark, but that's a personal opinion.
The right solution with the countertop.
Overall a good result, I'll give you a like.
Are you sure that's pine? It looks like fir. Some kind of conifer, anyway.
It looks a bit jarring to see a dark stain on the distinctive pine grain but the desk turned out beautifully! Nice save.
Yup, I know. But I wanted that walnut feel. But it came out pretty okey :-)
Rags to riches ❤. It's gorgeous ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching 😊
You're lucky that it wasn't covered with a bunch of goopy paint. I consider it a plus if furniture is falling apart. It makes life easier on me.
Where can I get a scraper like that? I went to a hardware store in Germany (Hagebau) and the guy had no idea what I was talking about. 😬

@@midcenturyflipper Thanks Boss!
Now that's the perfect Lazarus effect on furniture! Thank you for another brilliant video!! Merry Christmas, MCF!! 🎄❤💚♥💚🎄
Thank you for watching and Merry Christmas 🎄😀
수성 스테인을 칠하고 그 이후에 오일로 마무리 한거죠? 수성 스테인과 오일을 함께 사용해도 괜찮나요?
Sorry cant read 😀 have a great new year!
@@midcenturyflipperAfter that, you paint with water-based paint and finish with oil, right? Is it okay to use water-based paint and oil together?
It’s oild based wood stain 👍🏻
@@midcenturyflipperthanks 😊😊
👏
Satan så snyggt
Tackar 🙏🏻😀
Glad you got rid of that horrible chip board top.
Restauração mal feita.
It’s a spectacular save! …OMG..The critics! Always remind me of the movie Ratatouille…never confuse critics with actual creativity! 👍🖖🫡
Such a kind comment! Thank you so much. 🙏🏻
Again an amazing transformation❤
Thank you! It was a challenging project for sure 😅
