    I haven't seen dark pine furniture that often. Usually it's done in light stains. Very attractive outcome.

      And I think it was made with yellow pine, which is harder and more distinctly grained than the white pine of the new top.
      It’s still an amazing transformation and a great save.

    hi i just found you when u worked with flipping drawers .wow this desk looks amazing!!!! you def saved this treasure !!! i also bought a oak desk..originally 90.00 us. and then they went out of business.. so on the last wkend i got it for 30 .00 score!!!! like u, it neede d work . mine was also water damage..and i had to replace the panels , sand down the sides of the drawrs to make them fit, and replace 2 drawer bottoms... i sanded down the top , due to mold and chipped varnish . but i left the rest alone...i did give the whole desk a fresh but lite coat of golden oak stain and then poly over that.... as for the drawer frts it was too dark and u couldnt even see them.. so i sanded the frt but left the handles alone.. it worked perfect.. so i can relate with your project;];];]

    I hope after bringing it inside in parts and gluing it all back together that were able to get it through the door again!
    I tried gluing a wobbily coffee table I found on the side of the road and I failed. What's your secret?
    I would have put a poly on it to protect your great work. I would have also stained the entire drawer inside and out.

    Looks good. Only thing I would do differently is attaching the leg with a couple of dowels instead of a screw. If someone were to add those furniture gliders(for carpet) that screw on they wouldn’t be able to because of the screw in the center. Food for thought.

  • @Eric1SanDiego1

    Me: "NOOO! You can't replace the top with PINE, it will look awful!"
    You then proceed to stain the top with a deep, dark, rich stain.
    Also me: "Oh my God, that is GORGEOUS!!!!!"

  • @АндрейНикитенко-ф4с
    @АндрейНикитенко-ф4с ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The drawer handles are crudely bright.
    The wood tone seems too dark, but that's a personal opinion.
    The right solution with the countertop.
    Overall a good result, I'll give you a like.

  • @incognitotorpedo42
