Generation of Wind Load in STAAD - Part 3: Unclad Frame Piperack Structure|| Solidity Ratio || IS875

In this video, I will cover how we can generate wind load on any unclad frame structure like a pipe-rack using the newly implemented wind load generator. For this type of structure, several information is required including solidity ratio and shielding factor, how we can calculate and use this for load generation, that I will cover in detail.
For complete analysis and design of any residential, commercial or industrial structure, application of wind load is necessary. When wind load is applied on any face of a structure, it is distributed to other structural components. For wind analysis, correct wind load distribution is necessary.

As per IS875 (Part 3):2015, cl.7.4.3.4(a), frame spacing ratio is the c/c distance of frame by the least overall dimension of frames. I will cover this topic and shielding factor in detail in Part 4 of this series.

Unable to create wind load in other direction in case of unclad building using wind load generator.

Currently, this is available for one direction only, you can create it for X direction, then from input editor inactive that load case, create it again for Z direction and switch on wind load for X direction from editor.
