Great setup for advance or professional use, but for simple mortals, an iphone or 2 iphones, rode wireless or dji, tripod, do the trick and cross the fingers for the footage looks clean! 🙂
watch out with the iphone overheating or somehow stopping... this happened to me recently and I lost the end of the interview... I was using the BMCApp using .h265 on 1TB iPhone 15 pro max! I don't know if it was software or hardware issue.
Just started my TH-cam Channel 2 weeks ago! I'm about to purchase the FX30, and now researching the best lens for the room I'll be using it in. Thanks for all the tips!😎😎😎
ok to be real, For those starting out: Budget $3.5k setup. iPhone for wideshot. (considering u have an iphone, this is free) Sony ZV-E10 x2 Sigma 30mm f1.4 x2 Rode Wireless Go II to one of the cameras Then sync in Davinci or Premiere Pro. If you're subscribed to the Creative Cloud stuff then there is Adobe Podcast that uses AI to clean up ur audio.
Very nice video, thanks 👍 I prefer to use two iPhones in my setup because it’s lighter, cheaper, the battery is better, and it’s much easier to upload files directly to a drive. The quality is less good, but still very decent, especially with good lighting. Re audio, I’m using audio-technical mic like your shure, but both plugged into my MacBook and recording with GarageBand. What do you think? Also, what’s the light you’re using? Looks massive and not very portable.
Well, I must say that I like the video. This is very valuable information. Getting the right set-up for video recording needs is something that isn't often shared. Think Media thank you very much. I wonder if you can do a video on the editing equipment to get. And computer set up. I don't want to waste a lot of money on useless equipment.
This is about a $6,000 setup. You can get the same quality with other camera brands for a third of the price. But if you are going pro and you have that kind of cash, then this is a pretty solid setup.
adding an external xlr equipment like the zoom recorders or hot shoe xlr adapter like the Tascam, you're looking at additional cost you would've saved with the xlr handle combo with the fx3/30
Yes, it does drain, as the camera is drawing its power from the internal battery. But it does it very slowly, it is being recharged in parallel by the v-mount battery.
The lens you use for the 2 camera setup, do touch use the same exact lens for a 1 camera setup like that shot with Sean and PBD? Or do you use another lens for a 1 camera setup?
great video I was thinking about this same set up and you did a video on it great job, do you have a reason why you use a 2 camera setup vs a 3 camera? just wondering seems like less work with 2 tho
I like this setup - I am doing a lot more 2 person interview stuff - but curious - you dont use a 2 person angle? only tight/medium on each person? Do you have any good tips on how to get a good two person angle is odd setups? For example - I find couches to be too low - and then when you have two people in the shot you both look odd. Is it just best to avoid the 2 shot?
We’d encourage you to pull out the principals from a breakdown like this. Simple doesn’t mean cheap for everyone - simple can mean convenient, easy, possible etc

Sm58 mics are fantastic. As a former musician i can say those things are nearly indestrictible
agree ive seen these survive multiple on stage apocalypses
Kinda crazy how inexpensive they are with their quality.
Former musician? Once a musician always a musician ❤

WoW I've been contemplating that exact setup! iPhone 14 Pro Max and 2 Sony ZV-E10!
No mention of the lighting setup. You mention using natural light but show some large lights being used. Which ones? How do they pack up?
Amaran P60 is a solid compact light that can fit in the case orbackpack
When I am traveling I used my phone or my Gopro and my Talk GO mic.The idea is comfortable Packaging. Great video THANKS..
You guys are awesome! Loved this equipment video tip.
Very helpful - can you discuss a bit about weatherproofing a mobile podcast set up for exterior or 3rd world recording environments

I wouldn’t argue the same quality, I would say only a minor sacrifice in quality.
More like $4,700-5,300
Excellent presentation!
Great info. Saving this for later!
ess emm five eight......first time I've heard it said that way lol. Great video, top quality gear recommendations indeed.
Getting this setup for my new "interview" podcast
This is a cool video. It has inspired me with some ideas.
Cool video, some budget friendly gear alternatives would have been good though.
Nice lite setup!
2:29 does it drain the internal NP-FZ100 battery when you plug in the V mount battery via USB-C?
Yes, it does drain, as the camera is drawing its power from the internal battery. But it does it very slowly, it is being recharged in parallel by the v-mount battery.
Just the video I needed! 👏

Amazing video! But what light are you using? It's huge
Awesomeness ❤
Love the videos. This 2024 money is tight for people. How about redoing this video with $200 budget!!!!
new subscriber here....
handy kit, informative video
Great video. Nice meeting you at Vidsummit, I helped you carry light bag to that interview area.
Appreciate it Adrian! 🙌

Really nice. Do you have a recommendation for a camera under $1K?
how about the video switcher?do you have special device for switching video when making simple travel podcast?
What cable are you using to go from battery to camera?
What about SONY ZV-E10?
if u know what u're doing then just swap out the FX30 with the ZV-E10.
ZV-E10 will work great paired with something like the rode wireless pro!
@@ThinkMediaTV THANK YOU FOR REPLYING SIR! LOTS OF RESPECT ❤️
