You have to put in volume undoubtedly to evolve. I tend to write down constantly specific stuff I feel like I need to improve on ("hi-hat loop programming", "getting better at doing intros for my productions", etc.), and then focus on them for the next couple of beats. Of course, music is subjective, but I believe an attitude of "my work is as good as its weakest link" is an efficient way to get better fast. On the other hand, it's great to actually know your own strengths and just be aware of them, keep them in mind, since you are constantly making comparisons with other producers' work. That's my 2 cents on this lol.
