When I'm brainstorming for titles I always think "how would I search for this if I was looking for it"
I'm using a free trial of a plugin called vidIQ and so far it's made MUCH better titles for me. I might pay for the plugin
One thing I absolutely love aboutJay is he isnt asking surface level questions but really pointed and thought provoking ones,
never stop these man!😊
I appreciate that!
Thank you for re-interviewing Jake, still trying to get a grasp on titles.
Totally agree with this. Wherever you are, I have faith if you just keep going it will all work out. Best of luck to all the other channels out there trying to figure this thing out! We got this
Dont Make Another TH-cam Title Until You Watch This
Where’s the link to this video?
That would be a good title haha
Make comment word clouds of the comments' sections of your competitors! That'll show you what people want and are responding to in your niche super quick
vidIQ plugin is very helpful too. I might subscribe to it for $19 a month. It can automatically rewrite your titles based on titles that would perform better. I tested it on 3 videos and it helped a lot.
I didn't actually read the title of this video. I saw the text on the video, and recognised him from a previous video you made. And clicked because I wanted to watch something.
Interesting
I’ve always loved your interviews with Jake. Thanks again for an amazing video. These topics about titles and thumbnails helped me get my first few viral for me videos. Thanks again!
I love watching Jay's video. He seems so humble, doesn't interrupt & asks the right question. He really does put himself in the viewers shoes and asks questions.
Great questions and great interview. Jake Thomas knowledge is so valuable. Love Creatorhooks
Modeling what works is the recepie for sucess on TH-cam! This is a completely different perspective on TH-cam titles than what everyone on TH-cam is talking about. Thanks for the video! 🎉
Some great tips here, will definitely try to focus and put more time and effort into my titles to see if that can generate a few more clicks.
I’d actually disagree with “only do what works”. My top video ever (1.3 million) was something I’d never done before and is not that popular in my niche. the same with some of my other top videos.
Try a mix of tried and true and new formats.
I have no experience, but it stands to reason that the best idea is first to replicate, then to iterate. It sounds like you've gotten to understand through replication enough to the point that you're able to iterate
I'm not sure that's what he's saying. I just think that it's about finding inspiration in other niches as well as your own. Finding what works in every niche.
I love Jake. He changed my channel and life.
He’s the man!
Any other videos from him you'd recommend Drew?
Good food for thought. I really liked the idea about borrowing title frameworks that work in other niches.
Jay, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the exhaustion of negative titles. Negativity, drama, and fear may get you to click, but my videos have little negativity, drama, or fear. I appreciate the recommendation to look for inspiration out of my niche.
Massive value! So many takeaways that everyone who's making videos should see this ASAP! 💎
Ugh! I hate clickbait titles. I appreciate the need for them. But I refuse to click a clickbait title even if the content looks great. I'm so tired of reading "My best title advice yet..." and then next week it's "My best title advice ever!". Clever clickbait is good. That being said, my titles have been pretty boring. Thanks for the advice. Time to spice it up a little.
Goodluck growing 💯 frfr
Jake is absolutely a master at what he does. So happy to see him here. Stellar content Jay!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@jay u asked the best questions bro better than anybody else very well thought out and Amazing info thank you
60% Curiosity
46% Desire
39% Fear
I just grew my channel 600 subscribers in one day following this dudes advice . Thanks for the content fam
That’s awesome
@@CreatorScienceYT your channel is awesome bro 🙏
What did you do in just a day to achieve that?
Well now it’s 9,000 subs lol
@@AndresArosemena incorporate fear curiosity and desire into 1 title . One vid will eventually pop off
Great content and found it very insightful. I just started my cycling themed YT channel and this has been super helpful.
Just excellent advice. You’re doing a great job with this channel Jay 👏
Thank you for this video 🤝. I am experiencing exactly what you said in my last videos, and I am learning more and more. SO exciting! For me, the most important part is understanding my mistakes from the past.
Great interview!
Jake has really helped me not waste my hard work! Nobody watches if they don't click! Thank you so much Jake❤
Love to hear that!
Thankyou ,Im learning so much👍
so so much value a great watch!
It's my second time re-watching this video, sometimes I need extra reminders
The part talking about negativity and exploiting human psychology really got me... I clicked on this video because of the words "failed" and "don't"
Great video, will definitely be applying this in my upcoming videos 😎
Great tips🎉I keep mine the same because it’s working then test different topics in the vid to See how well they perform..plan to post those topics soon
Thank you Jay Clouse It's really worth it, Thank you once again
Great tips! Thank you. I am still working on my titling skills.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for watching!
love this guy and now he's back
By popular demand!
great podcast you guys! Thank you for the insight
Thanks for watching!
I resonate with your tentativeness around using fear in titles. I know it makes people click. But all else equal, I want a world with LESS fear in it. Fear jacks up our nervous system, and causes us to think more narrowly. It does seem questionable to me to create fear where it need not exist. (This all depending of course on the topic of the piece of content. An article about seatbelts might be a great time to use fear in a title)
Great discussion guys!
Loved the "model 10" tip
Thank you Greg!
07:58 - That's awesome!!!
1/3 into this video and so many chances you could have actually given us the before title and after title or concrete examples of titles and missed to do it 8:46
So what can I do ? My channel is entertainment and education at the same time. Should I work on my thumbnail or title?
Who edits your vids Jay? It's perfect. Do you do it?
Great insights shared
Hey Jay, great interview. What are you looking at? Is there any way for you eyes to lock onto the camera? Descript has an AI pupil locker.
Subscribed because you're the only person on TH-cam who pronounced Niche correctly !
How did he pronounce it/how does everyone else pronounce it?
Makes sense!
Im still waiting on my interview. Yall slippin
pure gold 32:00 - 32:25
NICHE!!! You pronounced it correctly the first time! Amazing! I didn't think there were Americans who knew how to say it correctly. SUBSCRIBED!!
I'm a Brit, and noticed a character in Desperate Housewives once said it correctly, so I deduced most Amsericans DO know how it's pronounced. It just seems to be a lot of internet marketers who pronounce it "Nitch"!
Lol..most of us who went to college say it properly.
Many of us Americans use "neesh" and "nitch" interchangeably. Just as many of use "ee-ther" and "eye-ther" interchangeably.
OMG I NEVER REGRET WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS, THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!
You are so welcome!
excellent advice. so much of it is human psychology when it comes to thumbnails and titles.- if your a content creator or entrepreneur then youll love my channel. showing the reality behind entrepreneurship and helping content creators grow.
Working on it
Great video. I loved the part when you said you want to attract positive people. You build a tribe of like-minded people; choose wisely.
I always read titles 1st, never thumbnails 1st, i must be weird, does any1 else read title then look at thumbnail
This title in itself is based upon a template. I’ve seen many times 99% something…. It seems like 20% of the titles in TH-cam have this 99% so this title is probably among those 99% that you referred to.
What are the 33 click triggers?! pls
What about mythology and story channels
A Donut video? Sheesh! 🤩
09:50
16:30
34:40
35:12
You got me at 99%
Was enjoying it until just another sponsor ad came on. Almost done with educational YT at this point.
Numbers dont lie. TH-cam is not always luck. As soon as you have upto 59 videos in your channel, start to study your stats.
59?
@@KDWil 69
@@minma02262 lol all im saying is I analyze every video based on my target market. if it takes you 59 videos it seems like your'e not paying attention.
Hey Jay , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
Don't be original just be yourself!
For me I click videos because of title 😊.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
First comment! 🏆
Your title is *too long* and so is your long form video, therefore the complete opposite of people's time. You now currently have *_15K_* views, within 3 weeks. I did that in _3 hours,_ with a *brand new* channel.
Someone has to be the pioneer and make the video that everyone then copies! (Sorry "models").
I'm bored of seeing the same content regurgitated.
i'm from cambodia my chanel dont view
I failed 💯 times on YT. I’m probably shadowbanned now.
