നെടുമുടി വേണു ചേട്ടൻ അന്തരിച്ചു എന്ന വാർത്ത കണ്ടപ്പോൾ എന്റെമനസിൽ ആദ്യം ഓടിയെത്തിയ സിനിമ ഒരു മിന്നാമിനുങ്ങിന്റെ നുറുങ്ങുവെട്ടം. അപ്പോൾ തന്നെ കാണുകയും ചെയ്തു..ഒടുവിൽ,തിലകൻ,മുരളി,അങ്ങനെ മലയാളത്തിൽ പകരം വെക്കാനില്ലാത്ത പ്രതിഭകളുടെ ഒപ്പമാണ് വേണുച്ചേട്ടനും....

I am malayali born and brought up outside Kerala...... 90s kid always used to watch the Hindi movies and songs...... But start watching Malayalam movies little, Amma and Acchan used to watch...... Then started realizing how brilliant and touching these old malayalam movies are. How versatile the actors, they get into story Soo well...... Nedumudi venu and wife my God.... What an acting....... Although I know this is a movie.... But literally brought tears to my eyes........ Direction, acting and everything related awesome......... The old malayalam movies..... I would say it an era. 33 വര്ഷങ്ങളെടുത്തു ഈ സിനിമ കാണാൻ. വല്ലാത്ത നഷ്ടബോധം തോന്നുന്നു. സിനിമ ഇറങ്ങിയ സമയത്ത് കോളേജിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. എന്തുകൊണ്ടോ അന്ന് കാണാൻ പറ്റിയില്ല. മെല്ലെ മെല്ലെ മുഖപടം തെല്ലൊതുക്കി എന്ന പട്ടു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഈ സിനിമ കാണണം എന്ന് തോന്നും. ഇന്ന് അത് സാധിച്ചു. വളരെ ഹൃദയ സ്പർശി ആയ സിനിമ ഒരുപാട് ഒരുപാട് ഇഷ്ടമായി.
ഒരു മിന്നാമിനുങ്ങിന്റെ കുറച്ചു നേരത്തേക്കുള്ള ആ വെളിച്ചം അതുപോലെ ആണ് ഇ സിനിമ മാഷിന്റെയും ടീച്ചറുടെയും ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരു വെളിച്ചം പെട്ടന്ന് വന്നു പെട്ടന്ന് അണഞ്ഞു 😢😢😢
a great film. I'm just wondering the thought process behind this film to bring it to such a level of perfection. And how naturally it depicts the unexpectedness of life and how and when it takes a turn, in wonderful setting where the serenity of Aluva manappuram comes on and off and plays its silent and key role. And how our previous generation has lived their life respecting others and nature and taking the pains and joy life brings, quite naturally and to the fullest. And how differently the same incidents are taken up by male and female characters. And every time I watch this, newer things are getting unfolded. A great fuel to our thought. And the Nedumudi Venu, Sharada, and all other actors have played their roles so naturally. A great salute to the creator, Bharatan!!

This is one heck of a movie - with such a small number of characters, keeping a movie moving through 2 hours is amazing - Nedumudi and sarattha are stunning while parvathi at that young stage produced a stellar performance - broke into tears several times

A superb heart touching movie showing the magic touch of direction by Bharathan and the amazing acting skills of Saradha, Nedumudi Venu and Parvathy.Made me tearful . We need such films of true value than some of the junk that we see now.
A heart rending film from Bharathan. The teacher couple Venu and Sarada makes you cry again and again. Parvathy makes a short but memorable performance in this film. The camera captures the rustic scenery of a small town to our delight. The film lingers in our memory. By the way, teachers do not retire on an August 12. They can continue in service till the end of the school year. Also the hospital ward had a deserted appearance on both the occasions. The rather sudden intrusion of Ravi and his hurried marriage to Maya look a bit contrived. Venu seems to over-react to letters from Sarada's relatives. His attachment to his wife borders on manic possessiveness.

It's an amazing movie by the legend. Was just wondering how is it possible to make such a movie. The climax is simply out of the world. The movie depicts the uncertainty of our lives and this uncertainty is something which we all don't want to accept.

Nedumudi was a versatile actor, but the roles of simple people fits him perfectly. Bharathan had children, I dont know John Paul the story / sceen play writer had kids, bu they were able to show the correct emotions of the people who didnt have children. I love movies like this which depicts natural life. Our previous generations doesnt have the facilities and aminities we have now, cell phones, computers, cars etc. But thier simple life seems to be more meaningful. I am watching this movie on my laptop laying in the bed, When this movie came out it could be only seen in a theater...Super dialogues...John Pau; the screen play writer like real life stories...The father and the older couples wanted to take care of the child. In US and India, there are so many kids who dont have a home to live in or dont have anybody to take care of them....very sad...

Although I know this is a movie.... But literally brought tears to my eyes........ Direction, acting and everything related awesome......... The old malayalam movies.....

33 വര്ഷങ്ങളെടുത്തു ഈ സിനിമ കാണാൻ. വല്ലാത്ത നഷ്ടബോധം തോന്നുന്നു. സിനിമ ഇറങ്ങിയ സമയത്ത് കോളേജിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. എന്തുകൊണ്ടോ അന്ന് കാണാൻ പറ്റിയില്ല. മെല്ലെ മെല്ലെ മുഖപടം തെല്ലൊതുക്കി എന്ന പട്ടു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഈ സിനിമ കാണണം എന്ന് തോന്നും. ഇന്ന് അത് സാധിച്ചു. വളരെ ഹൃദയ സ്പർശി ആയ സിനിമ ഒരുപാട് ഒരുപാട് ഇഷ്ടമായി.

a great film. I'm just wondering the thought process behind this film to bring it to such a level of perfection. And how naturally it depicts the unexpectedness of life and how and when it takes a turn, in wonderful setting where the serenity of Aluva manappuram comes on and off and plays its silent and key role. And how our previous generation has lived their life respecting others and nature and taking the pains and joy life brings, quite naturally and to the fullest. And how differently the same incidents are taken up by male and female characters. And every time I watch this, newer things are getting unfolded. A great fuel to our thought. And the Nedumudi Venu, Sharada, and all other actors have played their roles so naturally. A great salute to the creator, Bharatan!!

This is one heck of a movie - with such a small number of characters, keeping a movie moving through 2 hours is amazing - Nedumudi and sarattha are stunning while parvathi at that young stage produced a stellar performance - broke into tears several times

A superb heart touching movie showing the magic touch of direction by Bharathan and the amazing acting skills of Saradha, Nedumudi Venu and Parvathy.Made me tearful . We need such films of true value than some of the junk that we see now.
A heart rending film from Bharathan. The teacher couple Venu and Sarada makes you cry again and again. Parvathy makes a short but memorable performance in this film. The camera captures the rustic scenery of a small town to our delight. The film lingers in our memory.
By the way, teachers do not retire on an August 12. They can continue in service till the end of the school year. Also the hospital ward had a deserted appearance on both the occasions. The rather sudden intrusion of Ravi and his hurried marriage to Maya look a bit contrived. Venu seems to over-react to letters from Sarada's relatives. His attachment to his wife borders on manic possessiveness.

It's an amazing movie by the legend. Was just wondering how is it possible to make such a movie. The climax is simply out of the world. The movie depicts the uncertainty of our lives and this uncertainty is something which we all don't want to accept.

Nedumudi was a versatile actor, but the roles of simple people fits him perfectly. Bharathan had children, I dont know John Paul the story / sceen play writer had kids, bu they were able to show the correct emotions of the people who didnt have children. I love movies like this which depicts natural life. Our previous generations doesnt have the facilities and aminities we have now, cell phones, computers, cars etc. But thier simple life seems to be more meaningful. I am watching this movie on my laptop laying in the bed, When this movie came out it could be only seen in a theater...Super dialogues...John Pau; the screen play writer like real life stories...The father and the older couples wanted to take care of the child. In US and India, there are so many kids who dont have a home to live in or dont have anybody to take care of them....very sad...
