What I've always enjoyed about your break downs is that you don't sugar coat anything. If you don't know what something does, you don't try to come up with bs terms, you just out right say, no idea what it does but it sounds good. That is the motto for production, get the basics down and the rest can be done by how it sounds to you. Congrats on #1 btw!
This isn't even the genre that I produce but the way you break every key element of the track down and explain what each plugin is so useful. Really great content recently.
Major props for giving Zen at Evo his flowers bro. Bro you are such an epic fire starter, monster in the culture, and still thoughtful enough to be be helpful to your fans and those behind the scenes. Big ups bro!
When it comes to blending a Kick with a Bass sometimes it can be quite difficult for most people to get their head around these days but you made it so much easier to understand in a matter of minutes! Thanks for the tips James, it's much appreciated!
Video shows his remarkable talent, highlighting how he meticulously works on every component to transform and deliver an incredible beat that truly stands out. Why JH #1 ❤
the concept of using the vocal tone for all the leads in the track is amazing. don't have to worry about finding a tone that matches because you've already heard it
"I don't really know what that does but obviously I thought it sounded good." - Both laughed out loud and felt my soul relax hearing this, mate. So awesome to hear a hero and mentor give permission to just go with what feels right.
please don't stop making these for us James. We all greatly appreciate getting to see these kind of breakdowns from someone who is really doin the damn thing! Thank you!
"I dont know what it does, but i thought it sounds good".....love it. It's how I approach it, so this vid is re-assuring 👍🏻. Great video with some cool tips.
Mate you need to keep doing these, it’s a huge differentiator between you and other producers. I’ve been through the club banger course and this just adds to the knowledge. Gold.
These videos are so informative, one of my top 3 favorite Djs and he is actually teaching me how to DJ too!! Love u Jimbo keep up the killer tracks and amazing information vids ❤
Thank you for being so open and willing to share! And giving out packs, awesome of you to spread the love! much appreciated! ~Cheers from Nashville, TN
This guy is probably one of the most talented, worker, performer, famous dj/producer.... and still share a lot of advices, tuto, supports...; thanks a lot you are precious for us.
awesome video James very helpful, i'm not a very technical producer and use mainly samples and the techniques you are using and just go by the feel sound etc . gonna dl your sample pack and get crazy . thanks again
thank you so much for sharing everything you do and all the live sets you release. your dj sets and what you produce is such a fresh awesome breath of fresh air for the house/techno its just awesome music i dont really catorgorize it other than its just sounds awesome and is good music. i really hope i get a chance to see you play live and for more than just a hour cause that would not be near enough lol. seeing these videos really helps and motivates me to keep learning more of how to make music and hopefully one day ill make something that has the same effect on you as your music does on me and so many others
For your shaperbox and saturn 2 in every project you should use a free volume measuring plugin like mvmeter to see how much gain those saturations add to your track. For example if saturn 2 adds 2dB of volume (as indicated by mvmeter) you should then group a utility with -2dB on it with fabfilter saturn 2, then turn the group on/off to really find out if that saturation is benefitting the track or not!
This was an awesome video, I really enjoy watching you make the tracks and I feel like I’m learning so much along the way. Keep this series alive please!!
So generous! I love these videos and appreciate all the work you put into it to share with everyone. I play around with Ableton but this is a crazy understanding of the software.
You were very generous in showing us how you produce a track thanks for that. However, it would also be very interesting if you explained to us the marketing strategies you used around your beautiful track, because a track doesn't only become number one on Beatport if it's beautiful. Thank you very much.
Thank you James. I love this. Every time you do this is gives me more to chew on for how to fine tune my music (especially since I just started making music last December). I was about to release a new track, but seeing some of the finer details you've done on various elements, I'm going to revisit each element and see what happens. Funny thing on how you manufacture sounds...the lead stab for my new track is partly made of a sound effect from The Force Unleashed Star Wars game, a Force Choking sound, and I messed with it until I got a pretty damn cool sound. lol. Sometimes you just gotta play with sounds and see what happens.
This guy is so generous he always share with us amazing tips and tricks about djing & music production
James is breaking the mould of top level DJing for sure! Just an incredible human being overall 😊
He’s the truth

The real reason

Disclosure are pretty much disclosing on live streams

@@xait3k fr bro
how bout Deadmau5 livestreaming entire prod. process from inception ?
Check out eliminate, ahee, John summit, rezz…. I’m sure plenty others that also do similar videos to this

"Don't know why I've got two open hats? don't do that" -leaves it in the song and moves on-
And that's art my friends
@@addexforstile Literally. Guy is a fucking legend.
True
For real. I know what sounds good when I'm in the DAW but I don't know how it sounds good a lot of the time.
@@addexforstile He's right. It's not a great idea but it clearly worked here so taking it out would be problematic.
