Guetta makes it look easy. U know someone has mastered their craft and really understand it when they can make even a passer-by understand. Taught about how to make a great remix, chords, triads, compression, arrangement etc in half an hour! Just enough so u can kinda just get it and be inspired to learn more. Legend

I started out in writing & production 25 years ago. There was a site called internet DJ which had people who would provide technical feedback & hints on your tracks. Within two months of joining my production went through the roof & I got a deal with universal.
The people who helped me out didn’t have to, and it was all for the love of music. This is like my example, but turned up to 11.
I just love that people like david do this. Absolute hero of a human being.

David Guetta...one of the most successful musicians of all time is taking time and patience to drill down music production process and put it available for all of us...for free...explaining every key aspect....humnleness I haven't seen in many years. I'm crying happy tears...love is still strong in some human beings. Thanks David, this is more than a tutorial...this is sharing life with us.

I started music production in my teens. I left it for 20 years. I'm now getting back with Ableton. This tutorial is great as Guetta is showing how little you need to create a dance track. The hard bit is reigning in those instruments and effects to unmuddy the sounds but keeping it sounding full. It's very hard to master belive me. I started on Octamed on Atari ST, then cubase, then Reason, fruity loops and now Ableton.
Remember what Sting once said regarding music.
"It's not the notes you play that make a great song, it's the notes you leave out."
This theory applies to pretty much everything.
    Happy producing people.

Great comment. I was like you. I started doing what David was doing in my 20s and then life came along and I had to work to pay bills as a slave so I lost interest in music production. It's always on my mind. I was mainly using Steinberg Cubase, Fruity Loops, Reason, etc. Shame I stopped. My mojo has gone.

David, I wanted to say hi to you as one of the silent ones on TH-cam (I rarely comment on here). I was a DJ from the early 70's to the late 90's working up from the mobile DJ's to the clubs. I started on Garrard SP25 turntables that couldn't be speed controlled apart from holding the platter down ending up with Technics SL1200 which was a breakthrough. Bought my first Midi keyboard with a basic interface into a very slow PC triggering samples from an old Roland sampler...Far away from these days technology. So feeling really lost out on the new ways of producing the sounds you show using Ableton which I'm so tempted to revive my passion for music and bring memories back tinkering around in my room again as I did back in the 80's Just love the way you build the tracks and wanted to say thanks for the basic training for me to learn from scratch in my later years. I have many thousands of vinyl records I'd love to sample hooks from, just need to learn the basics I guess. I only beat mixed in the clubs but never learnt music keys which I'd love to understand more than just the Camelot wheel (but I was good even if I say so myself) . Anyways...Keep this up, superb to watch your video's, regards from an old DJ... Music never dies!!!
