I always kept my hair short when I taught school overseas to keep a low profile, but I left teaching and I'm almost at the point where I can tie it back. Feel like my old self again
@@mohamedabbas157 I actually have the same situation, haha. I was trying to fix it too, but after a while decided to just go with it. You don't see too many people with such hair, so might as well make it your unique trait ;) Though I put my hair in a bun most of the time, so the waviness becomes not so visible.
I had been growing my hair for about 2 1/2 years, Started just before Covid hit Canada. It’s reached about 19-20inches. I’ve decided to cut it now but What I’ll say to people trying to grow it out is just don’t care what others think, you’ll go through an awkward stage but you’ll regret it if you just cut it off as soon as some negative comments come. I’ve loved my long hair but ik it’s time to try something new. I’ll be going for 7 inches on top and 4 on the sides and back
@@underguise3844 i never trimmed my hair during a 3 year growing process and tbh i wish i would have every now and again. i cut off around 9 inches of hair last month and while its still touching my shoulders its in the best shape its ever been in. dudes who normally tie their hair back like me will neglect all the broken hairs you get for having it wrapped up all the time. trims arent always necessary but i think that might depend on the type of hair and your personal tolerance for frizzy split ends. in most cases on men it might add to the appeal but its not good for the hair.
@@underguise3844 As someone with long hair that is very thin, it's good to get the ends of your hair cut from time to time, it helps regenerate them a bit and it's also way better for hair growth/thickening
I started growing my hair right before COVID hit because I had a bald spot from alopecia. I then kept growing it out just because it was the first time I'd ever grow out my hair so long even though I have native American heritage I just never grew it out so long nor realized it could. I wish I did periodic trims to have kept it healthier I eventually got one trim of about an inch and a half decided to do an undercut because of the way that I sleep the sides of my hair on my head were just sticking out so much from being worn down. The lady fucked up my undercut and then I had my friend fix it and I had to cut about three more inches so it's just past my shoulders and my back and it's longer than it looks because I have a big head so my longest hair is about 2 and 1/2 ft. I'm not even joking My head is like all foot or more fucking long lol. I'm getting to a point where I really want to just cut it again I did have plans to do braids and get some awesome braiding and I've always said for years since the last time my hair was long enough to braid I'll get it braided first but I don't have anybody that can do it for me and it just doesn't look great anyway. However being in my 40s now I'm wondering if I cut it if it can ever go back again lol
if you're going to make a part 2, one thing I would really add is the perception of "ugly" just because its not the style you've had for the past years, and the confidence to own a different hairstyle for a while.
Can say that I've made peace with that only recently, for the longest time I've had the same hairstyle, whenever I wanted to let it grow out it was just bad, was able to tie it up but had plenty of problems with it and overall looked bad, now it's getting better as I got some products for my hair but now I found this guy and his video, hopefully I'll be able to have a hairstyle I'm happy with
Def. What looks good to one person looks bad to another. Good and bad could be changed to attractive and ugly etc. Its just hair it grows back. Make up your own mind how you want it to look not just following trends or anything like that, but how you feel.
This is a big call-out for me. Whenever I try to do anything to my hair it ends up being frizzy and doesn't stay where I want it to stay. Problem is, I don't really understand all these different types of products and such. These videos have been helping me understand the general consensus of what I should do, (as Trav and this channel are both blessings!) but there is so much to figure out all at once that I am unsure where to start.
Its like with anything. Start small or you're gonna overwhelmed yourself or even worse, learn longterm negative habits. This goes for a lot of "self improvement" stuff.
if you already have long-ish hair id recommend starting with a good hair wash routine. use shampoo and really massage your scalp, then condition, brush your hair with the conditioner in / whilst washing out the conditioner then wash all product left out, then use a hair mask. normally there should be an instruction on the package for your mask. thats like the first step. next step is to find out what hair type you are so you can find out how often you should wash it and if for example you need to put oil in your hair every now and then bc its alwasy dry or if you need something against really oily hair.
I don’t know what type of hair you have but my hair length is almost hip length, Wavy/Curly hair. What i do is drink lot of water, train regularly, products i use are aunt Jackie’s curl conditioner , aunt Jackie’s shampoo detangle/moisturizer, aunt Jackie’s leave in conditioner curl, light coconut oil. I clean my hair 2/3 times a week, i never brush my hair when dry or it will make my hair look frizzy and pluffy and just dry and ugly. A great tip that really works for me is after putting leavin conditioner always put a light oil to seal the conditioner on your hair and it will look soft, shiny and silky for long. I’ve received compliments from friends, colleagues and just people in general telling me that my hair looks exotic. Find what products (free of parabens, alcohol) are best for your hair type
The key with long hair and control frizz for me was don't overwash because it strips oils, a boar bristle brush to help move the oil, satin pillow case and to find the right shampoo and conditioner is to test if you need moisture, hydration or protein.
@@IvanNavaIt's usually followed by the "George Washington" phase, but then your hair gets heavier, and your curls will begin to droop and look less frizzy. Good luck!
I experienced COVID that lasted a good 11 days. At first, I believed I was fine but I began to lose more hair than usual. After doing some research, I've come to realize it’s from the stress my body went through during that time period and also the shampoo that I was using. So I began doing yoga and meditation daily and changed my shampoo and conditioner to littleextraa cooconion anti hair fall kit. And today i dont face any hairfall. Thanks for this video! I feel so much better.
After trying this cooconiooon shampoo, I find my hair silky and there has been a reduction in hair fall. One downside I observed is that lesser foaming, but might be due to the use of natural ingredients in the shampoo.
I started growing my hair out because of the pandemic and 2 years later its past my shoulders and your videos are a huge help with maintaining this because all my life i had short hair and i was clueless about what to do
I went through my stupid phase with a hard hat on. full on goofy AF. i did it every single day. 2+ years ( I dont remember exactly when i started) later my hair is long, falling on my shoulders. im almost 39. Just wanted to say to those out there not to give up on growing that long hair they always wanted. You will always have to go through "the tunnel" to reach any end goal.
Would love to see a wavy hair tutorial. I too thought I was a mixture of 1B / 2A but leaning to 2A/B. Interesting when seeing the waves become more prominent when combing through wet hair during conditioning.
Another important factor in people I see is simply your own feeling about it. A lot of people have good hair but don't ever seem happy with it and they don't style it, and the frown on their face makes their hair seem ugly. A bit of positivity or friendliness can make a hairstyle much more appealing, in the same way that somebody wearing a crazy or ugly outfit can wear it extremely well just because of their disposition.
I have been growing my hair for around 3 and a half to 4 years now and I just got to say its all about the journey and savioring each transition. I have Chris Cornell type of curls and I do think living in a very cold coastal town that is foggy throughout a lot of the year makes the journey much easier than for people who live in humid and hot climates. I could get away with wearing a beanie year round during any bad hair days, because its only noticably hot here maybe 5 to 6 days in the year.
As someone who has watched a lot of hair tutorials, the general rule of thumb is to avoid sulphates in shampoos (or at least avoid using it too much). Sulphates dry the hair out, causing frizz and breakage.
I've lost so much hairs in the last few years that it's now impossible for me to grow it out as I used to without it looking sad. This videos reminds me of that time fondely, and hopefuly in the future I'll be taking the route of implants and grow it out again! Looking forward to be a part of the mane community again.
For every guy that is growing his hair out,i.m here with you;for me have just passed 5 days since i had a short haircut after deciding to cut it to grow it healthier than before(i have a 2c-3a type of hair) and the first time i've grown my hair out i didn't know that and i've done mistakes that i could not recover anymore, that.s the main reason i've cut my hair short. We just have to be pacient,1 to 2 years will be enough to achieve a man bun depending from the hair type.A tip that i can give is start imagining your hair long and treat it as it is long already,it all be worth the time.Stay strong!
I wore my hair in a bun constantly because my hair visually dragged my face down when wearing it down. Also I was in a bad mental state with severe depression and wanted to minimize „problems“ in my daily routine… So I shaved it off. Ppl told me that long hair suited me but any hairstyle suits me tbh. Shaving my head was effective cuz I had one less thing to worry about cuz I always worried about how my hair looks. Now I just some product in and I’m done. Some day I’ll maybe grow it back because I got nice red-blondish hair wich only rlly shows when it’s longer, but that’s future talk
PLEASE do some wavy hair content. My scalp gets oily after about 2 days, but my ends are always super dry. Used to shampoo every day for years, used really harsh shampoo from scalp to ends and got super dried out. Used conditioner from scalp to ends, too. Also started using coconut oil, which helped a bit, but poor basic care was putting the cart before the horse. Summer would make my hair super frizzy and split my ends so fast. Hair also dries out quickly. I am a 2a/2b, combination scalp/ends, fine hair strands, dense/thick growth pattern, and I *think* it's pretty porous (hair dries in about an hour and saturates fairly quickly). I recently subscribed to Formulate, have been using 1mg finasteride for almost 6 months to regrow the corners of my hairline (which is working), stopped shampooing so often (now twice per week), shampoo only the scalp, condition only the ends, dry with a low-heat blow dryer + towel with no harsh rubbing, and put my hair in a loose bun when working out (daily). I'm also using a Tek brush which has helped tremendously for detangling and spreading oils, so I'm noticing a MASSIVE change in my hair health, but it's not quite where I want it to be. It would be great to have a video that directly approaches my hair type with guidance so I don't have to click through 6+ videos to understand what I should be doing. Thank you!
I started using only cold water and my hair looks fine. It doesn't get oily at all. I wash it almost every day though. When I was using conditioners it would get dry and or just get oily constantly. Im not saying do the same because yours may be different. When I stopped it was oily for a few days then it was almost like it balanced out.
Would love to talk to you bro...I have super wavy hair..and the moments it's naturally good are amazing....but Im finding it so hard to keep it lush and soft rather than dry and dead feeling. Sounds dumb but I really like having nice hair and am at a loss on how to fix it
A super gentle, conditioning shampoo sounds like it might be good for you. Function of Beauty (in Target) makes a shampoo and conditioner line specifically for different hair types and ai love the one for wavy hair….gets it clean but not stripped.
We don't have anything near similar hair, plus I don't know how long your hair is. But try washing just your scalp and not the actual rest of your hair unless you use gels and other styling products. It sucks when your hair is short and damn near impossible but just try it and see if that works
I started growing my hair out because I’m 55 yrs old an I’ve never had long hair. I retired a few years ago and have zero reason to cut it now. These videos and a few from Greg at beardbrand have helped tremendously! I live in Houston too and I’ve found Argon oil helps a lot with my frizzy hair. The frizzy hair is gone now. Keep trying different products until you find a combo that works.
I’m really pleased to find your channel, I’m a 2a, didn’t even know there were types, my stylist took way too much off a great length hair and it’s taken 8 months to correct it, I’m thick dark wavy hair and would really appreciate a part 2, also tips on what to say to stylists to manage your good length to prevent stylist over cutting. Cheers
I’m currently growing out my hair and I definitely don’t want to cut it yet because I know it’s definitely easier to get it short again than to keep it long. One cut takes away the almost two years of growing it out lol. That being said I’m still trying to find a hairstyle that works for me.
I have been discouraged by my family since the beginning whenever I've tried growing my hair out. I have curly 3B hair and can get upto 3C easily if not combed. I'm finally on my journey now and started during covid. I had 1.5 years of a beard journey and now i've cut it off and started a hair growth journey since late 2021. I already messed up and cut the sides and back twice. But i'm hoping to achieve a mid taper undercut manbun by the end of this year. Going for a maintenance cut next week. I hope it works out, this is the longest i've invested into my hair or anything really.
I started growing my hair out again after the turning point in my life; april 15, 2019. Overall it looks so much more friendly. Still growing strong. Dark blonde with natural summer blonde highlights and wavy. Mostly worn in a longtail. I can't stand buns because it's mostly fashion. But sometimes it's unavoidable for safety reasons. The biggest mistakes I made was wearing a cap too much to keep the hair back. Wich caused the hair between my beard an ears to remain short and messy. It's gonna take a while to grow that out. In the homeless shelter it got invaded with lice. After succesfully treating it with anti lice oil, it became so much better. So my hair likes the right oil. From my ex gf at that time I learned to use the right shampoo and conditioner to keep it healthy. I only wash it once the hair becomes fat or smelly, or when the scalp becomes itchy. Most of the times once in ever 4 to 5 days, depending on circumstances. I brush it 2 times a day. After the shower, I brush it wet and dry. Almost no knots, but a lot of growing dead ends. So I need to learn how to cut my own long hair in a proper way. And I'm looking for some hair oil.
Best decision I made in my life. It is exactly one year that I am growing my hair, and I LOVE IT. I just made it through my awkward phase and I am so happy. Thank you for encouraging me one year ago! 😀
Awesome, my second time growing my hair now. I think I successfully pass the awkward phase when I can grab most of my hair in bun. Occasional Bobby pins for the sides 😅
I have fine, thin, slightly wavy hair with an oily scalp. Another issue I've had recently is scalp pain. I can't put my hair up in a bun for longer than 20-30 minutes anymore, whereas 5 or so years ago, I could go all day with a bun. I haven't found an answer to the increased sensitivity, but I will say that if anyone has my hair type, try out organic Peppermint Castile soap. Dilute it to at least half and half, and do your best to avoid your eyes as the peppermint is a bit strong. I don't use conditioner, it just weighs down my hair and causes scalp build up. The peppermint helps with the scalp pain, and my hair feels and looks great for a longer period of time. The two brands I've used are Dr. Bronners and Quinn's Pure Castile Soap. Quinn's has a bit more viscosity, while Bronner's is closer to the thickness of water.
It depends on the method you use to put your hair in a bun I keep it a little loose so it doesn’t pull hard and keeps it’s snugged also Hair pins help too
Hi Trav. I’d love to see a tutorial for type 2 wavy hair. I struggle with my type 2a/2b hair and never know whether to battle with it and try and straighten it or leave it natural and then it can look like an unruly bulky mess.
I'm the same. My hair especially in the humidity and heat is a real mess. I have good days when I straighten it, until I sweat, but then there are days I'll straighten it and then it just turns into a mess again within a hour or so. I really hate my hair.
you'll want moisture, moisture, and moisture and the occasional protein S&C. I use a leave-in alongside a penetrating oil for my 2A hair. I let my hair air dry and scrunch it post-shower. I've found argan oil to be great for me and I use products with it for both my penetrating oil and my hair mask. I use a hair mask about once or twice a week depending on how my hair is throughout the week
Watch some of the curly girl videos. We really have our wavy-curly hair sussed. We have the same problems, just not male pattern baldness. There are lots of products aimed at curly hair, especially leave-ins. JenkemSuperfan gives some good advice in their comment, but it's just a beginning. Looking after curly hair can be very rewarding.
As someone that is currently rocking the Anton Chigurh look, thanks for the tips. Getting a little tired of people panicking whenever i take out a coin for coffee at uni
@pety1245 Atleast you don't have to worry about how your hair looks like,Worry about the wind or go to the nearby mirror to see if it's fit or not That's a lil buff bald people has
That description on broken hair sounds so damn reasonable. My hair had never those problems so I never quite understood when my sister said I have such good hair
Finally, someone who knows the difference between "regimen" and "regime"! Also great hair advice. 50+ here and growing my stick-straight hair out for the 3rd time after years of short styles. Just exiting the awkward phase now and eyeing better product options.
When my Mum used to cut my hair she’d give me her speciality the Spock from Star Trek cut it traumatised the living daylights out of me its down to my shoulders now. It took years finding the right products for my hair and I’m still refining them to this day. Great channel dude. 🖖🇬🇧
I appreciate Trav’s vids so much. My husband and son are both growing out their hair and I was at a loss for how to help them through the awkward phase and how to take care of and have great looking hair. I’ll have to wait and see what hair type our son has, right now it’s 1. My husband has combo curls. Trav is going to save us frustration and so much money wasted on the wrong products.
I wanted to share this points that I realized in growing my hair into mid length: 1.) use shampoo once or twice a week only! (If u have oily scalp probably three times a week) 2.) grow the sides and trim ur sideburns depending on your face shape. 3.) always trim ur beard! (Will alsoe depends on ur face shape and beard type)
Other useful advice: if you have an oily scalp, consider dry shampoo over washing it fully more than necessary. Dry shampoos are meant to be sprayed on oily areas only, and then gently worked into the hair by hand. This will keep your hair looking clean and feeling/smelling fresh, without the risk of doing a full wash way too early and potentially ruining the overall look of your hair.
Great advice! I would add to product use: less is more, but I can only speak for straight hair. I like how you really help guys growing out their hair because it can make you require more confidence at some point. By the way I don't think the thumbnail hair is ugly 😀
Yes please for the wavy hair video it would be incredibly helpful and it's been a very long time since I've been following this channel and your advices work for me the best.
As a guy with nice long hair, BRUSH your hair! I see so many guys with knots all over their hair because they don't brush daily. Even if you want wavier or curlier hair, just brush and use products, and your hair will thank you.
61 years old. Been growing mine out for almost two years after 20 years of cutting my own hair with 2/3 guards on a clipper. My hair actually looks exactly like yours! Especially the frizzy pic. I was looking for a new hairstyle, but I like the smoother version of yours(ours) lol.
Very true about learning your hair type changes as it grows. I always kept my hair short so I thought it was straight. Nope, turns out it was wavy when I let it grow a bit. Okay, that's fine. I'll change my hair styling for wavy. Nope, a few months later it's actually curly. Huff. Not that I mind curly hair, I'd say hair is at the 2B/2C hair type. Possibly 3A if I find the right curling product. But his words are true, take your time in getting to know your hair type.
i’ve never thought about this i’ve always kept my hair relatively short and i buzzed it off this summer so i wanna let it grow out but i’ve been under the impression that it’s staright but some days it’ll be really wavy so i’m gonna grow it out and see
I have pretty nice hair but it gets a bit frizzy sometimes, but I also don't really use hair products; so I decide to check the video out for some info since I only grew my hair out within the last two years. Was kinda surprised to see we basically have the exact same hair style, type and length. Anways thanks for the info 👍
same! yeah I felt called out by the title and was really surprised at how similar my hair type and length is to his. My youtube recommendations are trying to tell me something
I had a haircut in July to trim the sides down. I got an undercut basically, and then I decided to let my hair grow out. The top got way longer than my sides and it looked awkward for a bit but i got it trimmed to match my sides and now it looks much nicer. Gonna keep letting it grow evenly now.
I have type 1 hair that’s extremely fine. Falls straight after some time even after using a curler with heat. If I was a girl this would be a blessing but as a man it’s really a problem. Ive tried countless products, some work better than others, but after a couple of hours my hair falls flat regardless of what products I use. If I’m outside in the sun it’s exacerbated. The sun seems to heat my hair and relax the strands so they fall. My barber is also a certified stylist and their only recommendation after working with me is to consider a perm. They didn’t believe me at first but literally nothing works to get me through an entire today. I get a couple of hours at most. To this day the most effective method is to wear a hat while I’m sleeping to hold the hair in place for upwards of 8 hours, this at least gives the hair some slight shape although it’s still not even close to how I’d want it.
I’m Asian and my hair is 2 1/2 feet long and have been growing it out for 3 years now. I’ll tell you my secret but it’s not pleasant: shower less and avoid products. I usually showered every 3-4 days but when I did I only use shampoo and conditioner that contained coconut products. Also to help I started with a fade where my top half was longer. You’re sides grow faster. Hope this helps for anyone trying to achieve their goal. Good luck.
Hey Trav!!! I've been growing my hair for 13 months and I would love for you to make a wavy hair video. Since I have 2a hair and have found no content concerning how to take care of wavy hair for men on TH-cam, it would be nice to have videos related to this subject. P.S. Thank you for giving us such good content. Much love from Brazil 🇧🇷!!
I made it to 5 inches / 180 days & decided to trim down to about 1. My hair is VERY THICK & grows out sideways and is wavy when long. Would be cool to see examples of people like this who’ve managed to grow proper long manes. I trimmed for a wedding then my barber went a little crazy, I wasn’t mad because it was getting a bit unmanageable.
I have thick and wavy hair, and my hair grows very fast so even when I have a 'short cut' it only lasts about 2 weeks before my hair is wild. I find the grow out sideways is a length thing and once it gets past 2/3 inches on the side in length it becomes much easier to deal with. I would recommend wearing a hat while your hair dries to help mat down the side until its long enough to slick back or tuck behind your ears. Length on top can help too, but it shouldn't be tooo much longer because then the volume looks off. (ie when top is long but sides are much shorter you get the sideways activity, BUT when it is a bit more uniform the top actually provides nice volume to balance it out.
Hey! I'm a woman with a similar hair type (looks like a puffball and grows sideways when relatively short and wavy when long), and I have it long now. Firstly what you have to understand, that the dependence between hair length and it's manageability is not linear. In fact, it gets more and more difficult to manage untill it's heavy enough not to stick out to the sides (and lies beautifully instead, unlike those of people with thin hair. Growing sideways is a sign of a good long hair - it's going to have volume when long) and long enough to braid, tuck up into buns, ponytails etc, and it's also long enough to wash it less often. The optimal hair length is below shoulders actually between shoulders and shouder blades, meanwhile, if it's between shoulders and buzzcut - wavy hair is extremely difficult to manage. Find a shampoo that doesn't puff out your hair that much. It's either sulphate-free (expensive though) or sodium coco-sulphate, not more aggressive washing solutions. Wash your hair only when you see it's dirty, not everyday. For me, once five days is enough and that's in quite a polluted city environment and with regular exercise. It also should not say "volume" on your conditioner and shampoo. Hydrate. So every time you wash your hair you apply separately a shampoo, a conditioner and also a hydrating solution that says "hair mask" or something like that - it helps to make hair softer. Once my hair is long enough, I would also apply a thing that's called hair oil to the ends of it, it prevents tangling and breakage in the ends, allowing to cut it less often. How do you know it's long enough? Well, when long hair gets dirty - only your roots plus ~ two inches look dirty, not the whole length. When you see the rest being considerable length - you start doing it. I also partitionally adapted Curly Girls method practices such as squishing - it helps, although things like co-washing don't work on Indo-European hair. Comb with a relatively wide-tooth comb instead of brushing, it helps with wavy hair. Wearing a hat while it's drying... Not a good idea.
Video on wavy hair would be great, I’m definitely one of those guys who thought his hair was straight for forever and now realising it’s not!! Cheers for this
I've just always wanted that 2000's emo swoop hair style, I was born in 03 so I caught the tail end of that era but I've always loved it, especially now it's just a nostalgic thing for me, reminds me of childhood. But my entire life my parents forced me to buzz my head, when I turned like 15 they stopped buzzing my head and would compromise with me, and by compromise I mean they would let my hair grow longerish and then cut everything short where it should be long and everything long where it should be short while screaming at me and gaslighting me saying "we'Re cOmpRomiSing" while I desperately tried to tell them they were not and they were just ruining my hair 😂 Anyways since I was always forced to have the most god aweful ugly hair known to man now that I'm an adult I don't know wtf I'm doing or how to work with hair at all. I just wear a hat everywhere to cover up my hair because I'm lost, I've gone to a few different stylists and none of them got my hair right, they would either make it super modern looking or just completely cut it wrong. So I'm at a loss here I don't know what to do. I guess I'll check out a few more stylists and try my best to learn how to use a flat iron
@@gretavanfleat My brother in Christ, I'm literally trying to get it right now. Like old anthony padilla type, not the over the top old black veil brides kinda stuff. But the old swoop hair cut kicks ass you clearly have terrible taste. Edit : Even the "awful" emo haircut would be 1 million times better than the literal concentration camp haircuts my parents gave me
Finally growing my hair out long at 28, am already genetically predisposed to slow growing but its at a point I can tie it back, feels nice being in long hair gang.
hey trav. what are your thoughts on getting hair thinned out when going for a haircut? been growing mine out for awhile but since its quite wavy and VERY thick I decided to get thinned out. im just afraid its going to grow out funny now that all the hairs are different lengths
I would just get a “maintenance” cut . When I say a trim they usually take more than I expect. So when I say maintenance they usually keep the general shape but the dead ends off that could take some weight off and when they use texturizing shears
A wavy hair video would be awesome. I have 2b-2c wavy hair, have not cut it for 14 months straight (I had an undercut before) and I love the look when I don't brush it, but I don't want it to tangle or built a lot of oil so I brush it first thing in the morning and before going to sleep. Your tips will be much appreciated, as all your videos. You were the trigger to make the decision to let my hair grow and I love it. Also want to know how to have a little more texture or shine. I feel like it look boring when I don't have it in a bun (maybe hair oil can help?) and it still goes a bit to the sides probably because I have a lot of hair. Just to give you a idea of how long it is, the back falls almost into my mid-back and the sides almost to my shoulders, but since it is wavy, it looks a bit shorter.
It took me years to figure out my hair regime. Finally i was able to grow it out like John Wick but a little longer. My hair is so healthy that i get compliments all the time. With having the right product and a caring stylist, my hair is so nice and Long with no dry ends
Hey trav you got great videos about hair and I got long hair really trying to take care of it now as my hairline feels like it could be going back and my hair feels like it’s thinning a bit now, I got my hair in a bun all day because I am out but going to try take care of my hair the best I can
Here I am with fine 3b-ish hair. It's uncontrollable. I've grown it for nearly a year now but damn. When it dries, it is past my chin, but just doesn't fall, it sticks out straight from my forehead
@@slaik3088 wash and go, twist outs are ways of styling hair. Since you said your hair is uncontrollable try the styles to tame and define your hair. If you don’t already have one get a wet brush because they are REALLY good on all hair types. make sure to brush from the ends of your hair. The gel in a wash and go makes the hair fall and curl nice. just search on TH-cam“wash and go for short type 3 hair”
@@kgty1295 oh I understand now. Yea i didn't know what's what it was called but yes I do wash and go. I cannot brush my hair a single time or it turns into a bush. After it's washed I pat it dry and shake my head and then just let it dry. No blow dryer, no brushing etc. It's the only way I can even get some form of control over the hair. But even with it being near shoulder length, the individual hairs are so fine, they're light weight, so the curls make them stick out instead of dropping. Imagine 8 inches of hair just sticking straight out from your forehead. Not bending or flexing.

I have so much fine hair and whenever I wash my hair, I pull my hair out unintentionally.. it pulls when my hair is wet. I can't even get to my hair and it pulls. I hate my hair type. Plus once it's dry... my hair is so frizzy and so dry and frizzy... it's so frustrating. My upper hair goes to my chin and when it's wet it just falls in my face... Others have shorter ones and their hair pulls back when it's wet. I think mine could go all the way to the floor and fall in my face. My hair type is just so frustrating
Really well presented and explained Trav. Not considering growing my hair long, but was an interesting video all the same. I have wavy / curly hair myself - fine hairs BUT a lot of them [densely packed]. I have lived in various part of the world, and even though I usually have fairly short hair - changing from a dry arid area to a humid costal area still takes a little getting used to 😂 cheers! JB
My long hair used to suck when I was younger, that's one of the reasons I had short hair through my late teens and early 20s. But I shaved all my hair off three years ago just to see what it looked like and let it grow back naturally and my hair has been literally perfect ever since. Maybe my hairdresser just wasn't all too shabby, but all I have to do with my hair now is wash it occasionally and brush it occasionally and it looks great.
Hi, woman here out of curiosity. I have long straight hair & it triggers people including men to consider having long hair. I've noticed a lot of men can't seem to tame their hair & ultimately give up. Here to learn & share ur info to encourage men to be free with their hair.
I used to have long hair and it definitely helped with the ladies. I came up with a saying, "more girls like guys with long hair than there are guys with long hair"

I’ll be going for 7 inches on top and 4 on the sides and back
did you get occasional trims to avoid "breakage" i've heard of this but im not sure if it applies or effects hair growth and health during the process
7 on top, 4 on sides and back...🤔 so you're going for the Steve in Stranger Things look.

@@100islandds6 Fades don't work for everyone. That's what I hate, people walking around looking worse to fit in. (And no one would tell them!)
My hair is frizzy and stays where i dont want it to stay, even when i put olive oil in it and use good protein in my hair it gets frizzy
The key with long hair and control frizz for me was don't overwash because it strips oils, a boar bristle brush to help move the oil, satin pillow case and to find the right shampoo and conditioner is to test if you need moisture, hydration or protein.

I’m currently growing out my hair and I definitely don’t want to cut it yet because I know it’s definitely easier to get it short again than to keep it long. One cut takes away the almost two years of growing it out lol.

Definitely would like to see the wavy hair tutorial!
İs your hair still long bro?
I'm not a guy but I have the same problem with scalp pain! No solution to offer though. :( Been bothering me for quite some time.

I’ll have to wait and see what hair type our son has, right now it’s 1. My husband has combo curls. Trav is going to save us frustration and so much money wasted on the wrong products.
I wanted to share this points that I realized in growing my hair into mid length:
1.) use shampoo once or twice a week only! (If u have oily scalp probably three times a week)
2.) grow the sides and trim ur sideburns depending on your face shape.

Last time I was this early, my boss was still mad cause I was late.
Good luck.

I guess I'll check out a few more stylists and try my best to learn how to use a flat iron
thank god you didn't get the emo haircut. its genuinely awful
I use to do it I won’t anymore not a good idea
I would just get a “maintenance” cut . When I say a trim they usually take more than I expect. So when I say maintenance they usually keep the general shape but the dead ends off that could take some weight off and when they use texturizing shears
Holy shit. I didn't realize how much I didn't know. This was eye-opening.
Comb instead.
Damn this algorithm is getting good this is literally exactly what I needed.
Great video Trav. I personally would be interested in a wavy hair tutorial :)
It took me years to figure out my hair regime. Finally i was able to grow it out like John Wick but a little longer. My hair is so healthy that i get compliments all the time. With having the right product and a caring stylist, my hair is so nice and Long with no dry ends
Hey trav you got great videos about hair and I got long hair really trying to take care of it now as my hairline feels like it could be going back and my hair feels like it’s thinning a bit now, I got my hair in a bun all day because I am out but going to try take care of my hair the best I can
why does your thumbnail do that guy from "no country for old men" dirty
Here I am with fine 3b-ish hair. It's uncontrollable. I've grown it for nearly a year now but damn. When it dries, it is past my chin, but just doesn't fall, it sticks out straight from my forehead
Do you do wash and goes if not you should or twist outs
@@kgty1295 Sorry I can't understand what you are saying.
Not bending or flexing.
the quality and health of your hair reflects on your health . taking care of your body and general health and excercise can do wonders for your hair . you wont even need that much hair care when you are healthy
Mines thick and wavey. Don’t like wind lol.
Bring on the wavy hair tutorial!
Really well presented and explained Trav.
Not considering growing my hair long, but was an interesting video all the same.
I have wavy / curly hair myself - fine hairs BUT a lot of them [densely packed].
I have lived in various part of the world, and even though I usually have fairly short hair - changing from a dry arid area to a humid costal area still takes a little getting used to 😂
cheers!
JB
I definitely had to learn how to nourish my hair while also not making my scalp itchy.
1. Step: don't be ugly
@Merlinbearyes brother
I love the No Country for Old men reference on the thumbnail
I think it's not my hair, I'm just ugly that's why I ain't disappointed
My long hair used to suck when I was younger, that's one of the reasons I had short hair through my late teens and early 20s. But I shaved all my hair off three years ago just to see what it looked like and let it grow back naturally and my hair has been literally perfect ever since. Maybe my hairdresser just wasn't all too shabby, but all I have to do with my hair now is wash it occasionally and brush it occasionally and it looks great.
idk why im even watching this, im black LMAO
do black people not have hair?
@@razvanefros411theirs grows curly and up
Yes please Trav, fine, wavy hair tutorial 👍🏻
1. Be good looking and in decent shape.
2. Don't be balding.
Aww wow thanks for letting me know to go to a stylist. NEVER thought of that
