Volga Gaz 24 02 model of the USSR Aeroflot. Two models, complete renovation.

Today's film is dedicated to the Gaz 24 Volga station wagon, produced in the Soviet Union in 1:43 scale. The models made there were technologically very complicated. They had a lot of openable parts and a lot of interior fittings. The video can include subtitles in your language describing each activity. I got my model from my friend Sergei. In total, he sent me about two estate cars. One in the classic version, civil version and a car working at the airport. Due to the fact that I had two copies, I was able to make the parts that were missing and both became complete. I also made a box. I received them in the form of photos from my friend Andrei. It was quite characteristic of the Volga model working at the airport. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

@@Zergey45 Да, весьма неплохие экземпляры есть среди отечественных моделей прошлых лет! Но, как я понимаю, Пауль часто восстанавливает европейские модели в масштабе 1:64, там детализация изначально поскромнее по сравнению с 43 масштабом.

I have a decent collection of Russian made cars and trucks. Most however are suffering from Metal Fatigue. Some look so bad your afraid to open the doors or the hoods . Their quality is not there. Great detail, but that's it. Whenever I buy them now , I look them over really good. Very nice video.

@@williamdeegan7840 models released before 1990, as Ozzy said, are very high quality. My father bought cars for me as a child (1982-1988), and you can imagine how a child plays with these models. And yet, the model withstood almost half a year. But with the beginning of Gorbachev's rule, when the USSR collapsed, the quality of all industrial products, and not only car models, fell very much. I myself am not very good at marking by years, I just remember the condition of my toys. It was only in adulthood that I realized how expensive they were...

@@alexozzy1169 Yes, I can confirm that advice. I think I have around 25-30 of these Saratov-models, with 3-4 suffering from the problems described, all of them post-1990.
The oldest models have metal baseplates, catalogue numbers (A-#) stamped on the base plate, and "Made in USSR" in raised cyrillic letters. If you find a model for sale with all of the above features, it's almost certainly not affected. If the seller doesn't show a photo of the baseplate, ask for one before you buy. If he refuses, you should probably look elsewhere. Also be wary if the photos are of very poor quality, since you will not be able to spot the tiny cracks in the metal. For some reason, the doors tend to be the worst, especially the hinges.
On later models, the "Made in USSR" inscription changed to english, the catalogue numbers got blanked out (as you see on this Volga), and the metal baseplates got replaced by ones made of plastic. The more of these features on a model, the more likely it is to be affected.
These models, when sound, are real treasures and masterpieces, but getting a bad one is heartbreaking, as you helplessly watch it smoldering.

I can understand your admiration for the work of the manufacturer. Such production quality (even in 1/43 scale) is anything but commonplace. 👍🏼
Even the engine, cardan shaft, gearstick and windscreen wipers are executed as exact details. Respect 🙏🏼

Fascinating disassembly! Simple yet cleverly thought out - no further fastenings once opened! Amazing. Almost worth looking for one just to take it apart! But, for a model so intricate in other ways, you might have expected better tolerances in the opening parts... superb finish on both wagons, Paul.
