A couple of things: autozone sells the giant rotors for $140/pc and you can get the pads for about $50 through powerstop. The rear rotor and pad kit is around $150 through powerstop as well. If you don’t consistently drive the srt at high speeds, you can get away with v-rated General g-max tires for half the cost. They handle great and are more of an all season tire.

@joshshare I own a 2016 SRT. I have 20,000 miles on my mine and it needs pads/rotors. The cost $1455. The dealer says the pads won’t be available until the end of month nationwide. Unacceptable!

I think 🤔 a lot of people owning these vehicles will definitely lax on the up keep of theses SUV’s. Due to the high maintenance costs. Meaning it would be a crap shoot on buying these things used in good working order.
The maintenance is fairly cheap on this 70-80k dollar vehicle I have one and have only had to replace pads. Estimated cost would be around 580-600 for pads and 400 for install. Basically a rack for break job. Oil changes are a tad bit over 100 dollars for me. And I’ve never had to replace rotors but I expect that would be around what this gentleman said. So maybe every two years a net cost of 4K on immediate expenses and a annual cost for oil changes maybe 300 dollars (9k miles a year if a daily driver).
😱 Driving to Texas and Back every two weeks, plus another couple hundred miles of area driving while in Texas, is thirty two hundred miles round trip for me. Based upon your suggestion, I would be changing my oil every other week. That’s absurd! Synthetic oil last far longer then traditional oil, and has a 5000 mile oil change life. However, if you’re frequently running the engine hard, especially when trailering heavy loads of 5000lbs or more in mountainous regions, then a two thousand mile oil change is suggested. 🔴 However, during the first 10,000 mile break in period. I strongly suggest every 2000 miles change the oil and filter.
Hey guy! Leasing a 2020 Limited X, but was trying to make a deal on a 2020 SRT. I will be following to keep a journal of costs. BTW, can I get a tire depth gage? K Edwards-
I have got the rotors resurfaced many time but for once its okay but when you do it more than once the thickness of thw rotors is reduced and can reduce breaking. Don't do that with you performance car its okay with daily driving car.
He said mechanics often say “never” which in his mind is horseshit. I side w the mechanic. Anyone dumb enough to buy one of these used w No Warranty and drives it like its new has no concept of what the transmission does. I’m sure the same could be said about the previous “owner”. The mechanic is right because it’s the mechanics job to service what is diagnostically witnessed anyway. Don’t blame your mechanic / or dealer because you didn’t research what you were buying. Humbly I’d NEVER buy a trim line like this (60,000) used. The previous owners usage is relevant and the value of Any car only goes down / up about $1500 in negotiated value when it’s sold Per 30,000 miles! Buying this used you’re asking for problems which is why I think the author kept telling us to like/subscribe - it sounds like he can’t afford the car in my opinion. Even so it’s still resellable at least. I just know transmissions don’t need to be “serviced” assuming the cars driven properly and any mechanic will say that too. Thanks
