This isn't really off-roading, just a quick drive down a wet dirt road. That being said, I bet the SRT8 could handle just about anything with some LT tires on it

spongegary busey I live in SoCal. Jeeps like these are bought by Mexicans. They put huge rims, lower it, and add 8k hids. Off roading wouldnt even be considered. Nice to see one stock also lol. Not racist toward Mexican as I am one but I don't see any other states lowering trucks or SUV. I hate it.

Marcelo F. Kawas Yup. Once in a while ill see a nice new Toyota hilux here in the states. Mexican plates, nice bumpers, huge tires and light bars. But mostly useless lowered trucks lol. A Ford lightning is everyone's dream over here. Even if it breaks down every week

I'd love an SRT jeep but not for the price they go for
performance suvs like this are such a mixed bag of compromise. they do everything well...for an SUV. I cannot explain it though, but they are cool.
In the end they're better than all the things you could get for the same price. And the trackhawk outperforms most sports cars of the same price anyway. The trackhawk can run a 10 sec quarter mile.

This is why my dad leased the Grand Cherokee Overland recently. He doesn't go on tracks, he drives around New York City traffic everyday, and that car has customizable suspension; you can move it up and down to your preference, so it's pretty amazing off-road when we go to Upstate NY.
You should have used launch control on the dirt road.

I live in Ireland and I never knew that the Grand Cherokee SRT was available on this side of the Atlantic in right hand drive.

just so everyone can see this, the trail rated badge means it done the Rubicon trail, the SRT is just a few bits and a motor but that jeep can do real offroading if you wanted to Lookup this is ( Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk | Rubicon Trail | Trail Rated® Capability ) and you will see it go, plus most ppl here in us and Canada get air ride so we can lift and lower the jeep

I like how land rover owners hate on jeeps. Yet they don't realize that the first land rovers were made from remodeled WWII Jeeps. So essentially, Without those jeeps that they love to hate, Land rover would not even exist XD

Apparently for CT, "Taking a Jeep Cherokee SRT Off Road" means 5 minutes into an 8 minute video, there will be a brief encounter with a dirt road.

Jeep fixed that problem quickly after that video came out. The same people did the same test with the fixed Jeep and it did much better
Wow very cool, I can't wait to see the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk . I don't know about the Grand Cherokee but I have the "normal" Cherokee and there is a button to turn off the park piepers.
I drive roads like this with my 90 hp 1.4 fwd opel astra every time i go fishing....and you make it look like it can only be done with a racing jeep :D

The SRT is crazy expensive there. 70,000 pounds is about $86,000. I can get one of these in American for $65,000 (or about 53,000 pounds)

In Australia, Grand Cherokee drivers are the equivalent of British Audi drivers. They're a status symbol, despite the fact that many people are complaining that they bought a lemon.
He said it, if you buy a Grand Cherokee SRT you are not getting it to go off road. It may be able to with limitations as its not designed for 'off road' it's meant to be a blisteringly fast AWD SUV, huge difference.

Well, almost 1/3 of it is off-pavement but still on-road. 1/3 of your face while you are driving and 1/3 is moving pictures of the vehicle, from a REAL off-roader. 😂

This shit was awesome make a series of things cars aren't designed to do.... like a maybach drifting a Lamborghini in snow etc

Yes, it was technically off road, but it's a jeep, you could have at least tried to drive it over a grassy hill or something so we could see the AWD system and how it handled it.
It does 0-60 in at least 4.6, motor trend reports that it does it in 4.4, not 4.8

Great video. Most people who buy an SUV in that price range won't even go that far off road. So, good to know the SRT can.
And if you want a bad ass off road SUV, get a Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol. There's a reason why they're used by the UN and WHO.

If u think this is too expensive I think the 3.6 petrol v6 in our grand Cherokee is plenty quick enough and has sport mode which makes it feel really fast
Could you do the same with other SUVs like the XC90 or the X5 and see how well they do?

and the reputation of this SUV fell short since he's died. Just like Porsche Carrera GT
It didn't move the hand brake by itself. He never applied the handbrake/emergency brake. He put the gear selector to what he thought was park, but was really neutral. I could see how it happened, but don't go thinking the car had a mind of its own.
I would call it missing the turn and don't know what im doing... Not offroading.. Offroading for another people might be different.. Maybe try going there with Reliant Robin.
Not much of a Fiat or Chrysler fan, but this just truly is a pretty car!
