    And not a single second of the entire video was spent driving even remotely aggressively. Might as well have been a video about a honda odyssey.

    As a Jeep SRT owner and also driven a trackhawk on several occasions I can tell you I will be purchasing a trackhawk in the near future. There is a MAJOR difference between the 2 not only in the base platform but also the potential of the 2. The 392 still cant compete with the trackhawk even supercharged unless you do other major upgrades. The trackhawk can then just do a pulley e85 and tune for another massive perfomance boost.

    I think one of these used for around 40-45k is the best option if you have a family and want a bit of speed the only thing you sacrifice is mpg and the ability to go off-road but with a set of good all season tires it should handle rain and a bit of snow pretty good

    • @bassandtrebleclef
      @bassandtrebleclef 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Family vehicle? Add in taxes, license, etc and you're over 50k for this. How much salary do you think you need to be pulling in to make this make sense... in a family vehicle.

      These all come standard with RUN FLAT tires - don’t puncture one or you can start off paying $500 a piece for a new one. No point in buying a new set of reg tires until the standards are worn anyway but that’s something important.

    Trackhawk is much more than a blown motor upgrade. The entire drivetrain is upgraded to handle a max of 810 ftlb of torque. Double width chain in the transfer case, 4 rather than 2 spider gears in the difs. Drivetrain changes alone account for right at an additional 100lbs of vehicle weight.
    You could supercharge an SRT to get Trackhawk power but how long would the drivetrain hold up?

    • @ryanc2927
      @ryanc2927 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly - these young kids who comment about the money diff don’t get it. You have to do the research as you clearly have.

    Love driving my 2018 SRT.....I wouldn't even consider a Trackhawk...the interior is clean but just ok for 70k, the same would be terrible at 95k. Styling is the same so that would be disappointing as well. I can't even fully open up the SRT with constant traffic in my area. Overall it's fun and a gets looks when parked.

      I’ve owned a y2k Jeep srt 6.4 for 4 years. Great truck with all the bells and whistles. Handles well for what it is. One of the best daily drivers in a suv track oriented truck. Bmw, Mercedes and rover have competition but for way more money. If a track oriented suv as a daily is what you crave I’d check out srt.

  • @KoleSlaww

    Here 3 years later 😂. Just wanted to say that, honestly, how often are you going to use 707 horsepower while driving normally? Unless you’re REALLY going to put all that power to use regularly, the SRT should be fine

  • @1UpTop74
    @1UpTop74 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Personally from what I've experience with the cherokee srt, there is a quite of a big difference there buddy. Don't get me wrong that 475hp moves great. But the trackhawk is insane it's like an instant rocket! I think it all comes down to what kind of driverm are u when it comes to make a choice & obviously money. This guy needs to really drive this srt and drive the trackhawk.

  • @_EightySix

    I have a 2017 Jeep SRT. I’ve had it for 9 months now. I absolutely love it. Fast enough for me. Can’t see spending $25k more for the trackhawk, but I understand why people who have the money would want to do it. But frankly I like the LED fog lights and you lose them on the trackhawk.

    I bet a lot of the cost for the trackhawk (aside from the motor) its the AWD system. There is no way the stock SRT one is the same to handle that kind of torque, on a regular basis especially. And thats not something you can likely even upgrade even if you wanted to. The owner even mentions reliability - thats not something you'd get without the supporting mods that the trackhawk has.
    But no vehicle like that is "worth it" just like how is a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S "worth" over $200k - probably not. As cool as the trackhawk is, unless you're absolutely loaded with money, the fuel costs would be just unreal even compared to the regular SRT version.

  • @zhbroder

    you're not paying for the motor you're paying for the warranty.. of course it would be "cheaper" to void your warranty on your brand new car by bolting your own supercharger. wont be cheaper when your piston blows and you still need to take it to a jeep dealer for service and they say okay well you're paying out of pocket for this.. or better yet "we wont touch it"

    There are huge differences
    6.2 with forged internals
    2.4 L Supercharger
    Larger brembo breaks
    ZF95HP transmission
    Holding up 950lbs of torque

    Those few seconds difference you’re talking about from him being 8 seconds to now 5 seconds is the same few you’re now saying aren’t worth paying for but they were to worth it going from wrangler to an SRT LOL. if it’s only a few seconds then what’s the point of even getting the srt.

    • @Gj0315
      @Gj0315 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      CashKC a regular Jeep is few seconds different from art anyway, why pay more for the same outfit ?

    Just a little bit more? Dude, there is a lot more to a Trackhawk than a blower. The engine is totally different. You would spend more money buying a SRT and building it to be as fast as the track hawk with the correct pistons, cam, heads, cooling sys, computer, suspension, brakes and minor stuff. It has been proven it is cheaper to buy the Trackhawk than building a SRT to match the output with the reliability

    Trackhawk only difference is yellow brembos, and engine? ummmm You're getting a massively stronger Transmission, Stronger Diff, Stronger Axles, Blower... Yes for 20k you can dump this out. BUT youll blow your Tcase up like a Grenade.

    You guys CANNOT compare "DaHawk!" To the SRT...both are fabulous but please 🙏do not write off the extra HP...besides you really cannot put mods in the srt without breaking something...the best one to modify is the 1st gen srt8....but the SRT Thats featured here is a absolute great daily driver STOCK with very minor mods...for a kick...
