Mentioned this before...Brembo brake callipers and Spider Monkey wheels do not delaminate clear coat unless the previous owner used acidic mag wheel cleaner on wheels and brakes regularly. Also carbon fibre trim desperation is covered by warranty regardless of age or multiple owners. Water pump if it does leak is also covered by 12 year warranty.
The fuel evac issue is somewhat common as well. It will make ur check engine light come on for a few days. Doesn’t change the way the SRT operates though.
@jesse arias my dad recently got an srt durango and other than the ride being a tad stiff compared to a regular suv it rides very well and its quicker than most cars and othwr suvs on the road. We typically see 14 to 15mpg no matter what mode we are in. Even driving like an ass on the highway we get 14mpg. The jeep being lighter might get better fuel
@jesse arias yea but being that its faster than most suv's above its price range you are paying more for drivetrain than interior. if you want less power but a nice interior and to spend 10 or 20k more then buy a benz or bmw. the interior rly isnt that bad and the engine and trans more than make up for it. another thing is both the srt jeep and durango hold there value much better than many other suv's. for example you could get a mican turbo for 85k with bairly 400hp or buy a trackhawk
@jesse arias yes i agree it does need an update. i do like the look of the small update they just did but im sure they can do better. i will say one of doges stronger points was there infotainment
I just got my SRT, went with the black on black seems nice and the red brembos make it pop a little... definitely getting some ass due to this FCA product nice job boys.
I learned something with the oil dipstick observation! Thanks for that. Also, the carbon fiber trim is covered under warranty for an extended period of time! Get it checked out!
Peeling carbon fibre trim is a widespread issue here in Australia, on Jeep and Chrysler 300 SRTs, and we have about the driest climate imaginable. It seems to be due to heat, ie parking the car in direct sunlight. I'm part of a Chrysler 300 group, and the owners who keep their cars in garages don't have this problem. It's so widespread that Jeep Chrysler have issued a recall and will replace the delaminating trim parts free of charge
Just had 2 of mine changed from the dealer car has 3 months left of warranty. Hope i dont get anymore over the next few years. Its been garaged but my wife parks it outside during work. Also had the steering wheel replaced leather was peeling off that too!
Hey mate I'm looking to buy a used 2013 Srt8 that has done 78k from a private seller here in Sydney, what kinds of things I should check before purchasing it? Never owned a Jeep so really don't know what to check for. Heard water pumps and the electronics are common problems? Be good to get your advice on it. Cheeers
What do you think about used SRT in very hot weather ? I am living in Dubai. It’s 50 degrees Celsius here in the summer. I am now very sure that German cars are not for this weather and I dont want to drive Japaneese car.
I have a 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee SRT8 and last week here in Omaha it got down to -14 degrees. When I came out to my truck the next morning the drivers carbon fiber trim had lifted and cracked in 3 places. The passenger side also lifted and cracked. And both back doors the trim fell off and was on the seat. Chrysler customer care said too bad because it’s an environmental issue. So I called the dealership where I bought it from and vented about how they treated me and so the service manager is seeing what the regional rep will do. Now I’m just waiting and hoping for the best. I also had the chrome trim lift on the cup holder and damn it’s sharp. But I still love driving this beast
If you need an EXTREMELY good adhesive to re-stick the CF trim back on to your doors/dash etc. try Sikaflex 291i Assuming you have no joy re: warranty claim/help from your local Jeep dealer, that is... Sikaflex 291i is a Marine Adhesive which I use on my boat and it is very, very good - sticks like shit to a blanket once cured All the best from Wellington, New Zealand (the REAL Downunder)
So I just got the final answer by going through the dealership. And Chrysler said that since I’ve had one good-faith repair they won’t cover anything. So I asked what that repair was and they said the carbon fiber trim on the dash. That was a repair that was an agreement for me buying the vehicle, which was news to me. Not sure I’ll go back to that dealership again.
I would think hard about buying or keeping any Chrysler hemi powered vehicle outside of the power train warranty. Lots of lifter, cam, engine failures, several class action suits pending
i was going to get a track hawk also.. till i found out they lease for 1,600 a month or if i chose to finance it would cost me about 105k and the car would depreciate down to 80 grand in two years of ownership. Rather lease a srt for 950 a month and rip it apart and send it back when my lease is over and move onto the next.
Rami Abdelkhalek I got money for this thing but I choose not to buy it, buying this car just makes no sense. It screams stupid investor all over it, it’ll be a hit at the club but Im an adult I don’t care about the club life. I’m into making money and growing my money, buying this truck is just an all around money hole. Not only will you pay tons of money financing but it’s also gonna eat up tons of money in gas, the engine is the size of an airplanes engine. Another huge reason I will not buy this is because you spend all this extra money to have the “trackhawk” and you can barely tell the difference between the track hawk and an srt8, the badges on the truck look like the 20,000$ trail hawk. If I got a 105k car I want everybody to know when they pull up to me on the red light.
Had got hit and cracked my front bumper but a week later while driving all my service lights were going on and off ,windshield wipers randomly coming on ,eventually I wasn’t able to shift out of park then later that day I couldn’t cut the car on.dealership says there are crushed wires and my first step is to get another bumper so they can sit wires when they fix it.wanted to know what you guys think and how difficult of a job is this
Thinking of going for a 2017 SRT with 31k miles, coming from a BMW not sure how much different the handling and performance will be SRT does make some powerful motors might be more reliable than my bmw 🤭

Is the SRT suitable for very hot GCC countries ? Isn’t it comparatively better than German cars in 50degrees Celsius (122F)? 😀. Is it very expensive to maintain out of warranty after 100,000 km ?

As a charger SRT owner who lives in Detroit with snow for 5 months. You can use the charger and be okay. I would strongly recommend Winter tires if you want to drive it all year. What year is your SRT ? Looks NICE! I am looking at getting one soon. IN Denver as well was worried about driving in snow but sounds like it does well. Thanks for the tips!
I love my Jeep SRT. The only major issue I had was the water pump failed at 50k miles. My 2012 did the same. Found out it has a recall so dodge to care of it. If you don’t mind the shitty gas mileage, you will love the fun factor of this vehicle. Especially when you ditch the stock exhaust. I can’t wait to throw on a supercharger on this beast.
Trying to decide between new srt and used trackhawk. I’d love the extra power but not sure how much use I have for it. I do mostly city driving, won’t take it to the drag strip or track it ever. Great video!!!
The Trackhawk is everything you'd want in an SRT. My next video will explain why. The big question is if your gonna modify it at all? Thanks for the comment!
Hey man, I own a 2012 Jeep srt and my service 4 wheel drive light is on and my traction control light comes on. Someone told me i had to replace my PCM? Any ideas? Thanks for the help. Sick Jeep btw 👌🏻
Its difficult to say without it in front of me. The PCM is a computer module and its expensive. Id start with looking into the ABS sensors and associated components in the traction control system before condemning a module. Thanks for the comment!

I been looking into the details of owning one too but from my understanding it’s perfectly fine to do what you have been doing as long as all the maintenance is properly done unless the previous owner really abused it you would have some noticeable problems
If I buy a Jeep SRT do you think I’ll be regretting not getting a trackhawk instead? Mind you I’ll be upgrading soon from a Hyundai Elantra and have never even driven a V8 😂
Pinch welds can be damaged even from proper use of crappy stock jacks, use a better aftermarket jack and it might bend. Its strong and can handle the stress. Oil dipsticks that are stained can be replaced to hide bad maintenance. If you are buying used, remember its USED. You want perfection, buy new. Oil caps and all filters can be replaced to fool to uneducated. Bring a trusted mechanic to your used vehicle purchase. Done.

Just purchased my first 2015 SRT, was wondering if road noise is normal with these size wheels/tire?
depends, tires are usually to blame for excessive road noise
How many miles do u have on it I’m trying to trade in a tundra for 2015 SRT Jeep have u had any problems with it
With these issues also relate to a 2012 SRT? Are those older models have different issues?

Body lines? I have owned a brand new 2015 JGC...body lines are off. I currently own a 2019 JGC High Altitude..with the 5.7 Hemi .$58,000 jeep, body lines off....love both, but not perfect for sure!. EastcoastjeepSRT...Ron even talks about how bad the body lines are...
Richard Hughes its something to look out for though. You can definitely find ones that are better examples than others. When I was talking about body lines, I was talking about used cars in general. Not just the JGC. Thanks for the comment!
Oh i know and i love your content BTW...... It's just a shame that this body line issue is in brand new cars as well
Richard Hughes thanks! And yes it is a shame
Richard Hughes I own a black 2018 5.7 hemi High Altitude. It’s our third Jeep in 3 years. We love them and did a KN cold air intake last week. it sounds awesome, and uncorked a lil more hp!
Yea i thought about doing that too. It still has the stock exhaust, you would never know by the sound that it was a v8. I absolutely love mine...its in the crystal cherry metallic
Bout to get one tmw.

@@jordanbinda5264 they sold it from under me because I didnt put a "security deposit" the day before. So I went to the sister dealership and picked up a 17 HC w/ 8200mi. So guess it was meant to be lol.

@@jordanbinda5264 listed 48 talked them down to 45.
@@jordanbinda5264 also had them replace the blower so it practically newish.
Lol a Trackhawk don’t you like having a license 😂
Yeah gas is a problem
"As a mechanic" you say nothing about drivetrain, common issues, leaks.... etc...
Ok so literally everything you said to look out for is just all general information. Nothing specific to a srt. Got it
Dam u in Colorado? Lemme buy the Jeep for 2k??? Lol
😭that car
All that plastic looks cheap af
it doesn't feel cheap af
I don't care how nice Chrysler cars are they still junk underneath the hood
All cars are a POS ...RangRover, MB, BMW, Ford,Chevy... every car with an engine has their problems, just have to enjoy them while they are running correctly!!
@@warwick724 Lexus LX570...
Shit review but thanks anyway.
Jeep quality sucks point blank period
compared to what?
Compared to the price you pay
THE MUSIC BOX what would you rather get for the money?
Josh Share not falling off exterior and interior trim not a weak ass motor on low boost and weak ass rear end
THE MUSIC BOX I get that you don’t like the SRT and that’s cool. It’s not for everyone. I just want to know what vehicle you like. Japanese? German? Italian?
You disabled comments on your 7 things I hate about my $90,000 jeep... couldn't see the shifter you were crying about in your video, so learn to film better if you want to be a "TH-camr" and stop whining about your 1st world, rich boy problems and you wont have to disable comments due to your sensitivity
Sup Josh. New subscriber here! Keep up the good work
Thanks for the support! Glad you enjoy the videos!
