Not actually a telephoto lens (more like 1.2x zoom) - so then why have a main shooter that is not 64MP?? Maybe for better low light?

Edge rejection is not great. I need a case. When typing, I tend to hit “back” a lot
Screen protector is weak. Easily scratched, and I will most likely be replacing it very soon with a better one
Included earbuds scratch on things and make an irritating sound

3 button press is too similar to 2 button press to open camera

Phone is very slippery. You really need a case if you don’t want this to slide off things and you don’t want to drop it

I really like how there’re a lot of good things mentioned in this video and most the the drawbacks aren’t that much of a big problem for me.
Hey Mike, great video, I've had exactly the same issue with the screenshot function, however one trick I've found is that you can sort of roll your thumb and it still works, so get your thumb tip on Volume Down, press it then quickly roll your thumb so that you press the Power Button in the same action with a lower part of your thumb. Works great for me!

I will probably choose Galaxy S20+, because i was seeing in other reviews that Galaxy S20 Ultra is having trouble focusing photos, however in the future Samsung may release an update.

A lot of the time I feel like other reviewers tend to go full nerd mode, and that the 120Hz is great, theirs small bezels, the camera does this and that's all you need to know, buy the phone.
Kudos on mentioning the 64mp Telephoto camera and its "zoom fakery"? 🤔...the only other reviewers who have ever pointed this out were over at @GSMarena 👍🏻

I had the same issue, and I called Samsung. I guess its a battery problem. If you're within the 14 days return for a new one. If not, get a warranty replacement. I returned mine and the new one works great.

I've had an s20 plus for a week now, upgrade from a Note 8. It's definitely a nice device, lots of options, of course I use nova launcher instead of One UI but that's preference. I think you covered most of my issues that I've had, the only thing I'd mention is the finger print reader is still a bit slow and the battery life with exynos chip that mine has is worse than snapdragon.
How many hours can Last your battery if you have exynos version?

I love the buttons on the right side and I'm right handed cuz it's easier to turn the volume up and down when you're using the phone love it and I've always use Palm swipe anyway 4 screenshots people are making big deals out of nothing this phone is awesome I recommend it to anyone it's way better than the S10 Plus and I have the 20 Ultra

Its been 5 months have you ever experienced over heating, green hues in the screen, and how long is the battery life? Im planning on buying the US snapdragon version or the red magic 5s and i cant seem to pick either and i was just wondering if there are still problems with this model.
@@gandacious21 so look it usually doesent overheat in normal tasks, but it does demanding in games especially if you play for a long period, the battery life on 60 hz is about 6-7 hours, and 4-6 hours on 120hz, and the screen is perfectly fine, if you can get the snapdragon version, go for it, its a great phone

They are both pretty similar for the most part. I recommend choosing based on your hand size. If you have smaller hands, get the S20 regular
I love my s20 plus but can't lie battery isn't the best of the new smart phones. And this is after using it on 4k 60 fps which saves battery.

I had all galaxies since s1 to s20 & i love the size & the performance . Not much different from s10 but you will feel the smoothnes & premiumnes.

So apparently with the 120hz turned on and about 3.5 - 4.5 hours of screen on time can only get me through a day before I need to charge again. So I assume you have other settings turned off that I have on on my phone. Anyhow, it's just cool to know the comparison and different experience people have with the phone. I havent get my hands around the camera perks tho, looking forward to check em out soon!
i bought this on launch day and it was nice that they included a free wireless charger and 128gb sd card, my only issue was the camera focus but they released an update and it was much better.

I'm in love with this phone, but I have not decided to take this yet because I'm afraid that the battery won't last so much. For those who already have it, are you ok with battery? I really love 120 hz display and i don't want to downscale to 60 hz everytime to save battery.
I have been testing the battery and I get 6.5 hours SOT with 120 Hertz refresh rate......9 hours with 60 Hertz.....and I have an exonys version....as should be better I guess
With normal usage (exynos variant) i can get throughout the day with 30-40% by the end of the day, with high usage 15% at the end of the day - no accidental touches possibly due to having spigen case, only downside for me is google pay working very inconsistently - tried same store twice, once worked straight away the other time didnt at all - hopefully it will get fixed within future updates... other than that highly recommend (moved from iphone x)

I actually that think the buttons on the right side are far better than having them on the left. As a right handed, I use my phone with my right hand, obviously, and it's easier to turn the volumes up and down with your thumb than it is with your index finger, taking screenshots is not a big of a deal either, you can press both buttons with your thumb.
I just got it, because 1) the price was less than the note 10+ even with the discount 2) i get another phone, a tablet, and a memory card to go with my purchase of s20+
So far im ok with it, im still getting used to the full screen experience, and the many functions. But im pretty satisfied so far. Also i mostly use my phone to read, do work, video call, games, and yea, pretty much it. Used to have a galaxy note edge to draw when im bored, but it can be compensated with papers or my ipad. So i went with pics, and i remember 20+ was on par with my score for note 10+, so i went with it.
The only thing im concerned is the heat while charging. I might have to ask about it tomorrow.

This is great, as I have found out that a lot of the cool features you mention are also in my S7 and I did not even know. Still love the heaps of new stuff you showed for the S20. Did not know about the Dex. Big plus for me and I might end up getting an S20
I'm really disappointed that the owners of Galaxy S 20+ have 25w charger exactly the same to the much cheaper A71 or Note10 Lite. Why don't we have 45w charging as the S 20 Ultra!

I paidc 600$ great deal at Costco (Verizon) I only noticed that this phone has lower volume you use the speaker 🔊the other person won't hear your voice clearly. 🙄😔
Check out Sound Assistant, turn theme on then choose sero gives you side volume slider with all kinds of setting accessible from it. Also for more screens shot options get smart select edge panel, another edge panel i use system monitor edge its a paid app but gives so much info on phone plus easy way to access device care.

tried the S10 +, way way to many problems out of the box, never could get it set up properly, (making and receiving calls just the beginning) not being compatible with my phone company (according to the advertising it was) lasted one day sent it back. Ordering the S20 + (European version) tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I use S20+ exynos version on Indonesia, for me the battery can hold up to 8h 44 mins with 4.5 hours of gaming on 60hz. Earlier i found the battery drain more but actually i can turn off some feature that eat so much battery, like turn off the gps scanning on real time with wifi and bluetooth, also turn off samsung daily and bixby routine. It increase battery life sooooo muchh on exynos. Idk if snapdragon have that setting on by default.

After a day it already has micro scratches :( I've never put it in my pocket because i have the otter-box with the waist clip. I love the phone besides that, got a screen protector, but noticed the scratches when applying the screen protector a day after purchase.

Mine comes tomorrow, the only drawback I'm seeing personally is the fact the power button and the volume rocker on the same side, it makes screenshots a lot more tedious, I know there other ways to take screenshots touching the screen but on other phones it hasn't been that reliable but we'll see how it goes

I've had my S20 Ultra 5G for a little over two weeks, and I love it. I had the Note 10+, and broke it. ATT insurance sent me a check that paid off the broken Note, and half the cost of my 20 Ultra. I used some of that settlement to buy a good case, just like you said Mike O'Brien! Hate those little slivers of glass everywhere! Thanks for sharing your insight.

Just to mention, if you're in Europe or other parts of the World, your battery time may be less just because it's not Snapdragon as the reviewed chipset in the vid is. Great points overall.

I’m wondering if you prefer the S20’s over the iPhone. There is something drawing me to the phone but I end up with the iPhone mainly due to software. However, the S20’s runs well and the storage etc is superior. The 5g might be important some day but not yet. I don’t know - I know you were a Samsung guy. Is this still the case and do you still like it as much as you did. I’m just having a lot of trouble deciding between two very good phones.
Pela cases are not available for s20 series yet. Also work good lock app you rarely need to download another 3rd party gesture app. Great video btw
Agree that the placement of all the buttons on one side is awful. It makes screen shots impossible with one hand and I constantly hit the down rocker trying to hit the power to turn off the screen.

I just got my S20 this weekend, and one thing bothering me is that I can't seem to find the led notification light... just the edge lighting that comes up when you get the notification... I see a light around the front camera when face recognition is working, wondering if there is anyway to keep that flashing as a notification?

I have the S20 and am very happy with it. I have noticed one real mistake so far: When I take a photo in 4:3 64MP mode, the S20 sometimes gives me pixel mud. Samsung still has to improve the software.

Even with the Exynos variant I'm getting around 6hrs+ SOT. This phone lasts me whole day no problem with 30% battery left. I'm a heavy multimedia user, moderate gamer like 1hr gaming everyday.

upgrading to the S-20+ from my current phone an amazing S7 edge, it's a great phone, worked great from the start, no issues with start up. Tried the S10+, could never get it up and running, returned it. S20+ has gigantic shoes to fill. Wish me luck.
What's about finger print speed & recommend screen protector
I dislike how I cannot get any external USB-C Microphones to give excellent audio rather than that muffled, over compressed, excessive noise cancellation bullshit that you hear on playback.
Strangely I tried the original USB-C headphones that came with the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G.
There is a small built in mic in the volume up and down switch on the actual cable.
Of course it works and certainly offers a better sound quality than these external USB-C Microphones we're all trying to get to work and even when they do work the audio isn't useable.
The original headphones with microphone by Samsung are still being suppressed, you just know it when listening on playback,, there is lots of noise cancellation and all your hearing is your voice without any background noise which certainly isn't right.
It's still not an acceptable vlogging quality but 100 times better than using alternative USB-C Microphones.
I'm still going to find a solution as to why it's difficult for these Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G to use alternative USB-C Microphones from other manufacturers and give excellent audio quality.
As of 31/01/22 I have solved my issue and I am 90% happy that I have useable audio ALTHOUGH it's still being over suppressed thus leaving out natural ambient sounds that all normal microphones would have especially when filming outside.
In short the audio is more useable than before.

Does anyone else suffer that when the phone (s20 +) reaches 100% charge, does the screen turn off? the battery is not consumed but the screen remains off ... until the last update, it stays on, until we disconnect the charger from the phone.

It has now been almost a year since I have had this phone
S20 is great. Having a iPhone 11 Pro for a while but that 120hz screen is addictive. S20 seems more smooth than iPhone and I never thought I would say that. It's also very fast and responsive. But I think iPhone 11 camera is a little bit better.
I bought a s20 plus today so far so good lets see after 2 weeks.
