There are lots of videos that end up just showing you slideshows of what the cameras can do. While I will push the cameras to the limits and show the test results, that is not what this video will be. I want to talk about the overall experience of this phone

I can certainly tell the difference. I can't tell between 1080 and 1440 but I can definitely tell between 60hz and 120hz.

@@haziq_safiy7172 you can use wired earphones but they have to be usb type c, or you can buy a usb c to 3.5mm adaptor. A pair of wired usb c earphones come with the phone.

Great review! I use bixby every day actually and the phone suggesting/ making pictures from a video could be really interesting for example; filming your loved ones child, lady and dog :) or social events like let's say weddings or exhibitions. I' ve made up my mind I always buy the plus versions. After conversing with my provider, it seems to me the Ultra is more of like a mini tablet idea to me. I was wondering if Samsung decided to put old-fashioned fm-am radio in it though.. probably not :) anyways kudos for the review it helped a lot in ordering the S20+ cheers from Holland

Got my s20+ last week and I'm loving it. For me, it's the perfect size (one-handed usage and still a large phone) and perfect weight. The camera is still amazing, even if not as advanced as the Ultra, but it's more than sufficient for me. Colour and resolution of on-screen image is sharp and high quality. One thing I still have to get used to, is the new location of the volume buttons - I keep going to the left hand side out of habit, but eventually you get used to it. My only personal regret is not getting the 512GB version. Thanks for making this comprehensive review.

I didn't buy the S-20+ for the camera, but for making and taking calls and the battery life and I love that and have left the phone off charger for three days and it still had over 50 percent of battery life on it.
Just bought the bts limited edition s20+ I'm so excited. I've had this S7 edge since 2016 and it's so slow glitchy poor quality and extremely cracked.

Great review. I'm 49yrs old & always had iPhone's. I have the Note 10+ and love it. (My 1st Android) Even though it has 2 minor scratches on the Display. Not sure how. I treat my phones like babies. I'm not sold on the "Best scratch resistant Display or glass claims." My iphone 8+ is yrs old & I have nothing on it. It's a beautiful clean phone. This Note has been outdoors on a wooden porch & never dropped. Just odd. The one issue I have is watching movies or videos outdoors in the sunlight. You cannot see anything! You have to find a shady spot & maybe you'll be able to see the movie. One thing I had no issues with on my later model iPhone's. I love this Unicorn Beetle Pro Case that I've had this Note in since it was new.

Got this phone 2 years ago and a green line appeared on the display after a recent display..so annoying
bought a broken one for 47.7$, then bought the parts to fix it for 38$, i paid a total of 85$
It was also the snapdragon verizon version and i got it on android 11 so no green lines for me

Thank you for not doing a review on the S20+ disguised as a review for the Ultra. That's been so annoying to find every other video does that.
I've been a iPhone user since the start but due to me getting extremely annoyed with Apple ( a long story ) I got the S20+ on the release day. Since then it has been a battle to stop myself from throwing it against the wall and smashing it to pieces. The screen, great. The battery life, great. Camera, great. That's where any positivity ends. The finger print sensor? Well... I'm ready to smash the thing even before I get to that part. Double tap the screen to wake it up? Maybe... after several attempts. Now I just fumble around for the side button as it's much quicker. Now we get to the fingerprint sensor. Yep, several attempts and I give up and just dial my code. This is after reprogramming it several times. If your hands are a bit sweaty or you've been working and your fingers are just a little bit dusty, don't bother even trying. My old phone, a 6s, press one button and you are up. On this thing, activating it sometimes takes longer than my actual call. This is a clear case of fashion taking priority over function. I knew that the Android Os is a dogs breakfast but I only want it to make phone calls and listen to music. How hard can it be? Well....as a phone, sending smoke signals might be a better alternative. So far, I'll be kind and say 50% off my calls I've had to do in 2 or 3 sessions as it keeps on dropping out. Last night I was on the phone for 2 hours trying to comfort a friend who was having trouble coping with this pandemic and I had to call back 6 times. this is at home where I never had this problem before and it doesn't matter if it has a cover or is bare assed. As a MP3 player? Well, I was misinformed that I can download iTunes. You get Apple Music which I cannot get to play my legally owned music and have to pay for the privilege. The real problem is that I live in a remote area and I have no internet connection while working. No problem, you can download the files and play them off line. Not on this phone. I spent a day downloading files to replicate my existing library. All great. Except the next time I launch Apple Music, All my files have the cloud symbol next to them requiring me to download them again. From release date to this day, I have not got one song on this thing that I can play off line. I have tried every idea on the web to get this to work to the point that Apple deleted my posts from the Apple Forum. I wanted a phone and a music player and ended up with a camera with long battery life and a small tv to watch TH-cam on. I'm an ex professional photographer so I don't use this for taking pictures as I have much better equipment for that. Since I only have connection at home, I watch TH-cam on my 70 inch screen. So what did I get for my money? I'm currently downloading a series of Android MP3 players to see if any are useable. But this won't solve my drop out issue. It looks like I'll be cutting my losses and getting rid of this joke and selling my soul back again to the Apple demon.

Single take mode is brilliant, I am not sure why you can't see that. You can take numerous photo records with just a single push of the button.

I just pre ordered it, you should definitely consider switching as android is pretty smooth. (also it's limited edition so if you don't like it, you can resell it for so much more than you bought it)

Great, other than the fingerprint comment. A scratch over the fingerprint scanner doesn't alter the security of the device whatsoever. You can match a fingerprint accurately with as little as 20% of the finger. A scratch won't do anything to alter this.

Interesting. I haven't used a screen protector since the galaxy S5 and never put a scratch in my screens! I work outdoor construction too! Just a little advice, never put anything in your pocket with your phone, especially loose change or keys!

Great review, just curious why everyone is so sad about the headphone jack being taken off when the USB type C port does the same thing. I mean you still have a wired connection so I don't see the big deal!!!! Maybe it's just me.............

I have a 2015 OPPO R7g and people often have trouble hearing me because I don't like holding the phone firmly against my face, and when I do it presses other buttons and somehow often turns on the flashlight. Reviews don't seem to cover this aspect of phones - their performance as phones, especially compared with handsets. Otherwise I loved your review as I am planning to switch to the Samsung S20 + 5G. By the way, my OPPO won't let me upgrade the Android OS above 5.1, whereas 6.0 at least is necessary to download the Australian COVID-19 app which can be used to identify people anyone who catches the virus came in contact with (if they have the app as recommended by our Prime Minister).
15:25 you can turn off Samsung Daily. I have the Galaxy A71 and I figured out how to do it today in settings.
Potential buyers with special interest in the performance of the cameras on this phone should understand the actual optical zoom is 1.08 so the focal length of the actual lens is basically the same as the non-zoom camera. This is unlike say the S10 5G which the actual lens of the camera is 2X. However Samsung makes up for this by using a 64MP sensor. This basically results in as good or better zoom shots up to about 5X zoom than a phone with a tele-camera with a 2X or 3X optical zoom lens but only a 12MP or 16MP sensor. But to say the phone uses digital zoom above 3X is incorrect, it is ALWAYS using digital zoom on the telephone camera.
The reason why it performs well can be explained by considering number of sensor pixels used decreases by the zoom factor squared when using digital zoom. So, the lowest zoom of the tele lens on the S20+ at 3X is essentially a 7MP sensor. 3 squared is 9. 64MP divided by 9 is 7.1MP. (You may be wondering, if you are always cropping the sensor than what's the point? The 64MP sensor is primarily to provide 8K video recording capability.) Compared to say the S10 5G which has a 2X optical zoom and 12MP sensor. So a 3X zoom for the S10 5G is a 1.5X digital zoom of the 2X optical. 1.5 squared = 2.25. 12MP/2.25 = 5.3MP. So you can see how the S20+ can keep up with other cameras with 2X or 3X optical zoom but only 12MP sensors. It's notable though that with 2X zoom, a camera with a 12MP sensor and a 2X optical zoom has a higher resolution image than the S20+ at 2X zoom since the S20+ doesn't have an optical zoom lens.
What's more interesting is the 64MP sensor on the S20+ has a 0.8um pixel pitch which means the sensor is roughly 9,500 pixels by 7,150. So at 3X zoom the sensor output is going to be digitally cropped to around 3,160 x 2,380. However no matter what zoom resolution you use, Samsung outputs a 4032x3024 size image, basically "faking" the resolution for all images taken at anything over 1X zoom. The file size goes down as the zoom goes up even though the image resolution stays at 4032x3024 because the JPEG compression algorithm basically can see it's a fake resolution (essentially a lower resolution source image interpolated up to a higher resolution.)
I'm not sure why manufacturers do this except for only from a customer satisfaction perspective as people would be complaining why their 10X zoom images are only 950 x 715 pixels. Yes, S20+ users, that is roughly the true resolution of a 10X zoom image from your phone. But consider on a 12MP sensor with 1X optical lens, that true cropped resolution is closer to 400x300!
The bottom line is the S20+ Tele Camera is basically equivalent in resolution to a phone with a 12MP camera with a 2.5X optical zoom because it's not actually an optical zoom lens. So Samsung's advertising it as a 3X "hybrid optic zoom" isn't a total lie, but 2.5x would be closer to accurate as far as the equivalent of an optical zoom on a 12MP sensor. To get the best images on this camera you just want to use one of the 3 cameras without manually zooming in. If you do zoom in on the tele camera, try to not go above 5X.

Just got the phone and I'm again here :). great video, but you can disable many stuff from one UI if you don't like them, for example, Samsung daily can be disabled from home widget settings.

I used an s20 for a little over a year before switching back to iPhone. Then I used the s21, note 20 ultra , currently s22 plus. Now kinda wanting to go back with the s20 but plus this time. What do you guys think?
Got a refurbished s20 plus 3 weeks ago. £205 is insane for what you get. It is like new. Still one of the highest resolution screens out there. 120hz too but only at around 2k display so still great. Hardly any bezel. It's still really quick. 12gb ram. Camera can still compete with newer phones. Major zoom and can film in 8k! Micro SD availability. Samsung support til 2025 i believe. 5G too

Verizon has a deal going on right now so I was able to pick the phone up for $899 plus they gave me a $150 trade-in for my Galaxy S7! The phone should get here tomorrow, I'm excited even though I love my S7 it was time to finally upgrade! Keep these videos up, you earned yourself a new subscription!

They have RCS messaging, which will essentially be the iMessage for Android. There is also Windows integration, so you can text from your PC (as long as you are on the same wifi). Unfortunately not everyone has RCS messaging yet, so you may not experience the benefits until it is more widely adopted

This was the best review on S20 plus. At the store, there was no mention of the lack of headphone jack. No phone jack means can't use phone for online music in car👎. Tried the wireless connector a few years back, and the sound from my speakers was not right. Hated it.

I got this phone a few days ago and I'm in love with it so far.. I had the note 9 previously for over a year but I smashed the screen on it by accident 😂. I was pretty upset so I made myself happy by getting the s20+. I get "5g" in my area and it's about 108mbps which isn't bad.. It's definitely nowhere near milimeter wave, but it's definitely an upgrade over the 50mbps I was getting on 4g lte on my note 9.
They need to have an iMessage competitor and consistent update and I’ll dump my iPhone pro right now! 🤙
RCS or rich communication services has come to the US both on Google messages and Samsung messages. So you can get read receipts, typing notifications, ability to send large media etc.
Now it won't work with iMessage (thanks apple) but it will work with anyone who has RCS enabled.
I use a Key Liquid Screen Protector for my S20+ It's a wipe on application, there was more than enough on the cloth to cover the front, back and camera bump. Also once registered you have $250 coverage if the phone get damaged while using their product.
Moving from my beloved S8 to the 20+. Can you change from 120hz? Totally agree on Bixby, such a waste. I also heard that the bloatware can be uninstalled? Good review.

Im surprised they still didnt learn from the S10 to be honest, they say these are dual sim, but at the cost of no SD card, take your pick, but there is loads of room around the phone to add another tray for another sim or SDCard.

The one click thing isnt useless. If you've been to concert or show and wanna capture something but are so excited from jumping and cant video and take pics at the same time this basically does that for you.

I got my S20+ last week and like it a lot 👍😀 Had an S10 previous. So far I find the S20+ battery worse? It last just a hole day when used normally and adaptive 60hz screen? Maybe I need to charge it more times or is the battery bad, you think ?

Thanks a lot man. Great review. Been w apple for 9yrs and tried the S10 for about a year. Tried the 11 pro max and the difference is startling. Just picked up S20 Plus today and am looking forward to using the F out of it and really mastering this eco system. 🍎 can blow me forever. No offense.

Just got 4th upgrade within one month ownership. First one fixed autofocus, second fixed the closeup and macro, but added green haze to the screen at 120Hz and the third fixed the green haze and added security patch. Price wise, at £999 ($1,200) ... a ridiculous money for the phone, you might say? But I blame Apple for charging silly money for their gadgets, just because they could. And when Apple zombies snapped up any rubbish, that company produced and at any price? Others, Samsung included, emulated Apple, in more ways than one. Still I have several laptops, netbooks and tablets ... and this phone, more than previous Samsung phones, makes all that stuff redundant. Good phone, lot better than S9+ that it replaces.
Okay. First off. Dude is adorable. Good lord. 2nd off. I'm glad I'm watching this video. I think the Ultra is a bit too much. If the 20+ camera gets shaky up close, then the Ultra would probably be worse. So I'd rather spend less for something that's basically the same phone. Just with a smaller battery. I have the Note 9 at the time of this message, and battery is really important to me. So the 20+ would probably be perfect for me. So I'm excited for switching
