Great video. Thanks. I would just add that many of these have different names, but same exact set up. So some of the wires are colored differently. I would suggest to anyone following this video to install theirs to only pay attention to the terminal designation numbers A1, A2, A3 etc. Which brings me to my biggest question on this unit. The A1 terminal, in my case a pink wire, is labeled "Parking Sensor Control Wires +12v". Which really throws you off considering it's labeled +12v and everywhere you read up on it people say it's a ground from parking brake. So it's a bit disappointing that this video has everything I needed except for that one detail because he never uses the A1 wire. I'll be hooking this up today, and get back with the results. I'll try grounding the pink first before I go and throw any volts at it.my objective is.to ground it constantly so the kids can watch it. Kinda the only reason I got a radio with video player in the first place.
Thanks for clarifying the purpose of this wire. The explanations on the wiring diagrams on these units are disappointing. Thanks for this video. I have the same head unit as yours and this video helped me to install it including the reverse camera. Is there a way that the reverse camera will show the normal view(not mirror view) in the head unit display?
I got the same radio for free. I haven't installed the camera yet. I bought a wireless transmitter and recover that is supposed to also transmit the reverse trigger. Obviously I have no clue how it will work but I don't have high hopes of it working with a reliable signal transmission.
Hello i just bought one but when I turn it off the time stays on ? Is that normal would it drain my battery? Thank u and the video are very helpful and well explained.
One thing... one little thing was giving me a slight headache, and that is the camera doesn't want to be mounted on the back of my Saturn Vue (2007). I'm used to working with big video and film cameras, so my mind fast forwarded to coming up with a jury rig that would be secure, unobtrusive, and reliable. I found out exactly what to do! So the brake light 12v power source (when put into reverse) tells the camera to kick on? That than travels to the head unit that automatically cuts over to the camera view? Also do you still have music playing while backup camera is on, or does that shut off temporarily. Another question, do the brake lights dim when switching into reverse(power being drawn off bulbs?)
I know how to do this just wanted to watch someone else. Decent video for first timers help tutorial. After doing it a couple times I now check direction and poisoning of camera before installation.
This is a great video that has really helped me alot with my backup camera. What about the brake wire? Does it need to be hooked up? Seems like I seen a video somewhere that said it needed to be if you want to use bluetooth? If thats the case where would it connect to?
I got the same head unit like you have., but there is no diagram for the camera., but im thankful you shared how you installed it., im gonna install mine tomorrow
You could also replace the rear camera with a TV box or any video source going into that same video input if you want to use it as an in dash TV monitor. Just install a switch to connect and disconnect the A2 back in wire to switch video mode on and off. Works great in my SWM 7805 head unit installed as a small TV monitor at home. I think all these MP5 car radios are pretty generic so it would work the same way with all Chinese models. However, the parking brake wire disables the auxiliary input so the audio is cut whenever the rear camera is on. Is there a way to enable camera or video without the audio and radio functionality being cut off, say to watch from a TV box connected directly to camera input and audio aux input?
Would've been nice to see the actual wires being connected. Im still confused about the key wire, does that connect to the acc wire? And does the yellow and red wire get connected together????

Thank you so much, you help me too much
But I have one question how to connect or install radio? Please can you tell me please 🙏🙏🙏
Great video
Thanks for this video , someone who actually
explains in detail.👍👍
Nice video, straight to the point thanks 🙏
thx mate , I was wondering wat the red wire next to the yellow rca reverse plug. powers leds on reverse camera!
i just happened to get one of these as an experiment to a see if i could install and b to see if it works..... mine works ... kinda ive discovered that the cars previous head unit was wired differntly to the plugs on this so it doesnt work while in motion lol
hopefully this can help solve the mix up and i can get it working
My factory harness comes with one extra wire labeled “amp ground” Is it necessary to ground the amp near the radio or can I just tape that wire off?
Thanks for this video. I have the same head unit as yours and this video helped me to install it including the reverse camera. Is there a way that the reverse camera will show the normal view(not mirror view) in the head unit display?
I don't think this unit is capable of that.
You need a amplifier...only way you get sound
4:01 its Mario!
I got the same radio for free. I haven't installed the camera yet.
I bought a wireless transmitter and recover that is supposed to also transmit the reverse trigger. Obviously I have no clue how it will work but I don't have high hopes of it working with a reliable signal transmission.
thank you for this post it help me out o much I install it f150 and its nice
You have more pictures

Hello i just bought one but when I turn it off the time stays on ? Is that normal would it drain my battery? Thank u and the video are very helpful and well explained.
When these stay on it can drain the battery, especially on GM and Saturn vehicles that keep the radio on until the door is opened.
when the image was up side down 😂
One thing... one little thing was giving me a slight headache, and that is the camera doesn't want to be mounted on the back of my Saturn Vue (2007). I'm used to working with big video and film cameras, so my mind fast forwarded to coming up with a jury rig that would be secure, unobtrusive, and reliable.
I found out exactly what to do! Watch to the end of your video. Duh. I feel like such a moron.
Thanks!
I like your video, It was very Informative and genuine! Thank You
I love the power acoustic car stereo I still have my Sony dnf 340 and I have availibilitie to car screw mount crossover/car tweeters just like getting home after school after buying from viva store in Monrovia orange county Los Angeles and listening to good sound thanks I want the following screen protector later on thankyou
Excellent. Much appreciated. Succinct, very well executed and produced. Nothing we don't need, this is tthe medicine for anyone pulling their hair out over this. Thanks again
Running a wire from the output side of my reverse light switch to the grey wire would be a lot shorter
I agree, but finding that switch on a given car is a challenge. Finding the reverse light power wire is not.
Thanks so much for the video, I got mine to working now! 😃
Yes, the brake light 12V triggers the head unit to display the camera. The music will not shut off. The brake lights will not dim at this time.
Very good instructional video, it helped me to get the idea on what to do.
Thank you very much I just installed mine.
tnx to this video got my reverse cam installed correctly, now it automaticaly switches every time i reverse gear engage
you/re welcome
Very easy to understand, great explanation.
I know how to do this just wanted to watch someone else. Decent video for first timers help tutorial. After doing it a couple times I now check direction and poisoning of camera before installation.
You the man you helped me big time
good job. very well explained.
Nice work.
This is a great video that has really helped me alot with my backup camera. What about the brake wire? Does it need to be hooked up? Seems like I seen a video somewhere that said it needed to be if you want to use bluetooth? If thats the case where would it connect to?
I did not use the brake wire. I don't see what it would have to do with bluetooth (which is a weakness in these bargain units.)
I got the same head unit like you have., but there is no diagram for the camera., but im thankful you shared how you installed it., im gonna install mine tomorrow
Il miglior video speigato bene a differenza di altri che si complicano la Vita come montare la telecamera
Hello brother, can you tell me how to find the speaker channels? Speaker plus and minus . Kindly reply.
Excelent work 👍👏
Would've been nice to see the actual wires being connected. Im still confused about the key wire, does that connect to the acc wire? And does the yellow and red wire get connected together????
I have a blog post on this installation that includes more detailed wiring diagrams: www.originalmechanic.com/2019/12/how-to-wire-low-cost-double-din-head.html
Much appreciated. Shouldn't there be clear installation instructions in the manual that came with the unit? I'm surprised that amazon would sell such products that have no clear installation instructions.
There were instructions with mine. I just felt I could do better with a video.
@@TheOriginalMechanic i cant see to make the time and presets save whenever its turn off and on back , i have to set back my presets again i have in install in my 2005 jeep cherokee
