John Wayne wasn't racist he told it like he saw it like it really was.He was talking about those blacks who would prefer communism over capitalism and take welfare instead of work for a living. Mr Wayne wasn't anti-black or Anti anything other than Anti lazy commie a holeness. Many black and other minority stars got their path to stardom and Star hood because of Mr. Wayne. He also was a champion of women's rights giving them on screen Larger than Life appearance and time. When he said blacks need to follow what whites were doing, it was true. Those black path finders that followed his advice created The programs that all successful minority people, most importantly successful blacks follow today. And if Wayne was racist, then why was he married to latin women? He wasn't the perfect man but he was the perfect example for many boys, especially those without fathers to follow that became damn good good men whom without him, wiuld have truned out otherwise.

I'm calling b.s. on this one , Wayne chose to stay home and make films while a lot of other stars did their patriotic duty , I'm sure all had mother and fathers and wife's with kids , only Wayne used that as an excuse , imagine the nerve of making yourself out as the hero in war films , when in reality you never wanted to go . as an actor I've got rocks that could act better , he wasn't an actor as much as just a character , no matter what role he was in , he was always still the same character, weather he was a pirate , solder or sheriff --same character. opinioned blowhard , who knew how to suck up to the big boys was his greatest talent,.

@@williambaldwin4563 the video didn't mention a lot of stuff but i'm not going by what this vid. mentioned , as far as the war goes he used the "out" that he was the sole contributor to his families income , in other words he was the only source of money to support his family , if he was physically unable then he would certainly would rather have used that one as it would have been more "acceptable" to the public. he became a "hero" on film for the public , all the while preferring not going himself., kinda the ultimate hypocrite in my book .
