    I've recently decided to grow my hair out because I'm tired of barbershop prices for a so-so end result, I'm getting to the age where I could potentially start losing hair and I want it to speak to people that I want to be a strong male in today's society (which we all could use these days) and so on so and so forth. Like many other men overcoming newfound struggles in this niche journey, I would always wonder after putting so much time and effort into making it look the way I want to, "do people care?", "do they notice I try to be presentable?" "do *they* think it looks bad?" I bought this spray like a half hour prior to this comment and I have to say I'm so glad and excited I found your channel! Suffice to say, this stuff isn't just a spray, I can already tell it's going to be a nice little confidence boost in the morning so I can attack the day...and it smells FREAKING AMAZING! Thanks Trav 🙂

    Here's an old school hair care tip for you to investigate: apple cider vinegar. After I rinse out my shampoo and before I apply conditioner, I splash a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar onto my scalp, let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute then rinse. It feels like a facial toner you after a face wash. It dissolves dandruff and cleans out the pores. I think it's really great, but I'd love to hear your opinion on it.

    The shape of hair determines straightness of hair.
    Straight hair tends to be round in shape.

    Very curly hair and kinky hair are very oval (wider than thick, even flat-appearing)

    Bro, your hair is amazing, the quick shot you put in with the waves, that's my natural hair...or was when I was younger before I began thinning. Still have it but it doesn't look that good. For YEARS I battled my hair stylist for hair like that and she never could get it right. Now that I found your app and the community, I feel like it's too late, tho giving it a go anyway. I knew I spent my entire youth in the wrong geographic area. Moved to Florida this summer and absolutely love it but my hair is awful & I don't wanna cut it. Gonna give your tips and advice a go starting this morning. I wish I were still in my 30's.

    for me, washing hair with just water (warm water then cold to seal the hairs) helps really good with frizz. however it's really hard to incorporate that into my routine because when I finally use shampoo hair looks greasier than usual

    • @dwi5582
      @dwi5582 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Maybe you can use dry shampoo instead? Or not using shampoo at all. I read that your brain sends SOS signal when you use too much shampoo which made your scalp produce too much oil. Just gently massage your scalp and hair while rinsing them everyday helps you remove the excess oil without triggering your brain. Don't worry about hygiene, it's clean enough. I read that sweat help you clean your scalp.
      Nb: I only use shampoo once a month these days and my hair isn't as oily as it used to be when I used to use shampoo 3-4 times a week. I recommend you to do the same. And spraying diluted essential oil (just 3-5 drops of it in 100 ml water) also help reduce your natural oil. Make sure to slowly change your routine, though. If you go straight to using shampoo once a month from several times a week, you'll have really oily hair for 1-2 months before your scalp can adapt to the change.

      It means that your hair have no weight to lay straight down enough, so it seems like they're pulled up (no gravity). They become bulky which means that the hair do not stick together but instead they separate from each other making them seem fluffy. One good way to get rid of that is to buy a mild (hard textured) wax, and apply just a little tiny portion of it on your hair (when dry) with your fingers. Try to spread it everywere. Even when you'll wash off your hair at nights, the wax will remain in your hair for a few days.

    • @prettyfayegirl7317

      Poofy/fluffy is what I call it.
      I mostly get this after I wash my hair and let it air dry. It kind of reminds me of a lions mane (in a bad way) hair looks super dry/ no shine at all, but has lots of volume meaning it won't lay flat. Ugh.. It's my wild hair and I honestly hate it. My best hair day is always 2nd day hair because by then my natural oils kinda start to weigh my hair down and it looks less poofy.

    also a tip although some might find it abit less fresh is to not wash youre hair with champoo but instead wash it with a soap bar this preserves the naturel oils that champoo washes out it makes youre hair naturely more oilie and not dry it also serves as gell,what i do is brush my hair back before showering then after the shower its all to the back i let it dry and go to sleep.
    for me during sleep it dry's all neet to the back when i wake up i caml it through to the back and after its super easy to brush it into the model i want and it stays this way for usualy the whole week unless you sleep rough and it gets youre hair bent out of model but it should stay pretty desent,what messes this up through is when it rains and you have nto go outside,humidity fucks it up and curls it so avoid rain.
    not everyone has trouble with the soap bar shower but for some types of hair it might become to greasey and maybe even get dandruff i have this but i battle it by brushing my hair wel and removing it where i see it,but it works realy wel because with champoo i cant get my hair into anny model desently without a shit ton of gell.
    its funny because what we been though to do with champoo is actualy not good it strips hair of naturel oil making it vulnerable and more dry,it doesnt show to much with easy hair but with more difficult hair it shows allot.
    though the years i realized a number of things we are thought to do is not actually helpfull.

    Hey Trav! Been growing my hair out and loving your videos, they've helped a lot.
    I've been running into a bit of a... Different issue with frizz, though. My hair is straight and fairly flat on its own (bad mix of fine and slightly thin + widow's peak so they have no support on the sides). It looks fine when tied back, but it's always very frizzy when I let it hang loose but through a lot of work I've managed to give it a decent amount of volume.
    The problem comes in with fixing that frizz, because it feels like anything I could try (brushing it more or using products that de-frizz it) will also make it go back to being flat. Do you know of anything I could try to find a happy middle-ground?

      Find your hair type I know it sounds like hair astrology but everyones hair is different I think trav actually made a in depth video on hair typing. So go watch that video to find out kinda what your hair type is then just TH-cam your hair type and there are a million girls with that hair type and they have posted their hair routines and just do that. Then based on that kinda do more of what helps and less of what doesn't. Guys and girls have the same hair so what works for them works for you

    Hi. I don't know what is wrong with my fair but I have the worst hair ever. It's not curly, but a bit waivy. It's mainly straight with a tiny bit of waive. So my hair gets immediately frizzy right out of the shower. I literally tried every single product in Ulta store and nothing works. I've already tried everything you recommended. I've noticed that the hair does calm down a bit the best day. Any other recommendations? Thanks

      6:03 this is definitely a good advice, I been trying to brush my hair less and less and is a big difference on the texture and it tends to get tangle less, as ironic as it's sounds is true.

    Why is a wooden brush better?
    Wooden bristles really massage the head while they brush. This stimulates your scalp, improves circulation, blood flow and oxygen, all of which encourage healthy hair growth. The wooden brush discourages static and frizz, unlike plastic brushes.

    hi trav, came to ask a question about hair products
    when you apply hair cream, (eg morroccan oil curl cream) can you sleep with it and forget about it? or do you need to wash it out later?
    same thing with hair products like wax, clay, mousse... im really confused and i cant get a clear answer

    • @TravWhiteStyle
      @TravWhiteStyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Leave ins you can leave in but clays and waxes I’d say don’t leave in for 48+ hours. I’d wash them out on day 2, especially if you want to freshly style it again

    My hair have this crazy frizz if let it dry. So everytime I leave for work, I have to put on a leave on conditioner on my hair just to make it look wet. To be honest, I don't like the feeling.
    I hope this JVN products do the job for me. If I manage to fix my hair I can focus on fixing the hair thinning on the crown area.

    Thanks for all your info Trav. I discovered your channel last night after almost giving up and cutting all of my hair off (shoulder length+). My hair is similar to yours (2a-2b) and fine. I have a combination scalp and the hair is incredibly brittle. Im confused on how to use the LOC method with my hair type. I believe im High Porosity of somewhere in between med and high (ive never chemically treated my hair). Bought some of your recommended products from your 5 Reasons video from 2020. Do i still follow LOC with fine hair? shampoo scalp and treat mid length/ends with oils + cream? In desperate need of anyone who knows what theyre doing..

    Growing my hair out, my hair is wavy and very thick with some frizziness, but when I wash and condition my hair it gets worse. My hair does so much better a day or two after washing & conditioning when my natural oils from my scalp come back. Because of this, I wash & condition only once a week. Is this ok ? Maybe I’m using the wrong shampoo & conditioner for my hair type 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ve been using Beast tingle shampoo and conditioner, it’s free of sulfates, parabens, & all that other bad stuff. This video is old so you probably won’t even see it ?
