I started doing two things out of all the things here and my hair has improved so much! I usually dry my hair with my reckon blow dryer, after a day of sleeping on it it would look horrible and I’d want to wash my hair again. I decided to then brush my hair every night the way you showed, gently, and tie my hair, I don’t have the silk thing to go around my head but I wanted to start something that could improve my life with my hair, and this change is such a huge change for me, in the mornings my hair looks gorgeous with plump and big beautiful and bouncy curls. I only did one of the several things said here but it’s already such a life changer! My roots feel less oily and the ends of my hair looks lovely even after 2 days from washing, this was never a thing for me! I enjoy looking at my hair now and even the top of my head that was constantly frizzy looks beautiful and lush. Thank you so much for helping woman that didn’t have a strong female figure in their lives growing up. I never heard of any of those things because of being raised by my dad, currently I’m learning about female friendships and finally building lasting female friendships after dreaming about that for years. Truly leaving my masculine era and embracing femininity. You and other TH-camrs have been helping me a lot. Thank you again ❤

    1) glycolic acid for Scalp health
    2) bore bristle brush to spread and even the oil
    3) wash tools (alcohol) and brushes (hot water and soap)
    4) wash and refresh the top part of the hair then blow dry it (in cases of sweat crisis like post workout)
    5) use silk (satin will do) bonnet and scrunchies
    6) when self trimming :her method is ‘search and destroy’ (explained in 7:23 )
    7) blow drying : make sure you dry the roots first
    8) use your natural texture hair after a blow dry as a base to curl your hair (it doesn’t need to be completely straightened then curled, the results will be more voluminous )
    9: hair dye :
    - do one side (dye + wait + rinse) at a time
    - you can use vaseline to protect your ear skin from pigmentation
    - always refer to the instructions
    - each section needs to be detangled before applying the color
    - hair wet means it’s saturated with pigment (it’s enough), if it’s dry you need to add more dye on it
    - blow dry one side and see if there’s any part that needs to be to fixed before going to the other side

    1. Glycolic acid for scalp health; apply at night before washing once a week
    2. Bore bristle brush; spreads oil from roots to the end. Section your hair and brush all sides (back and front)
    3. Wash/clean curling iron, brushes, straightener
    4. Sleep on a silk pillow case or a silk bonnet
    5. Cut breakage
    7. Blowdry; dry the roots first

The hair cutting and coloring at home yourself is SO worth it. I spent a couple years teaching myself how to trim and highlight my own hair. It takes a long time. Not gonna lie. I spend 6 hours in the bathroom doing my hair. But that’s how long I would spend at the salon and there was never a guarantee I would like it, and I’m out 500-600 bucks each time. I trim my hair similar to how you do!
I also do highlight one side of my head at a time. Worth it for it to come out perfect.

Excellent advice!!! Products I use at age 41 to have very think, long hair down to my butt with no split ends ( literally) collagen peptides daily supplement, a high biotin and hyaluronic acid oral supplement taken daily, a strong daily multi vitamin, fish oil supplements and plenty of other healthy fats and high protein. L-lysin supplement daily, and now I've moved onto an oral daily rx to prevent hair loss before it can start since the majority of women start to lose their hair at that age. I use a scalp detox once a week, a Satan pillow case, brush my hair from the bottom up, and dry it the same as you. I don't over wring out my hair when wet bc it's weakest when wet and I wash every other day. I only use a wet brush for less breakage and the holy grail products such as: it's a 10 plus keratin leave in spray, bumble and bumble leave in restoring hair oil serum and a Amazon hair serum as my hair cocktail. My hair is soooo healthy that I got bariatric surgery and was supposed to lose 1/3 of my hair and didn't. I only need to cut it once a year, and that's bc I don't want to sit on it. It's so silky that it can't hold a curl to save its life. These are the products and steps I took to turn my hair from crap to WOW!

I looooveeeed your “blow dry” method. I also have curly hair and have decided to go back to straight hair.
I’ve struggled because I get mad that my hair doesn’t look pin straight when I do it myself, and also that since it doesn’t have much volume while straight it looks like I have little density of hair. The first thing I wonder when I saw your volume I was like “so beautiful and voluminous, does she have extensions”. So thanks, I’ll really try this ♥️

    hi alexandra!
just wanted to express how grateful i am for your channel and how you've been present in many phases of my life.
i first found you in 2018, you inspired me to assume my natural curly hair since i saw how beautiful your hair is, your vids about how to take care of your hair made 2019 my best hair phase.
not only that but you were literally a big older sister when i most needed during my early teens. your vids about self care, clothing, stylin helped so much when i was helpless about the subject, you helped me developing my own identity in a healthy way when i was so not in touch with my own femininity and for that i an so thankful to you.
now i'm much more health and with a good self esteem because of every lil advice you gave. im struggling with hair loss and no ones know the causw and u just uploaded a video about hair care.
i am very sorry about the media you lost, but i never stopped checking this channel cause you always made great content and i hope people understand the vids you lost and how hard is to recover it instead of saying negative things on comments. thanks for uploading all your knowledge, alexandra ♥️

Fun fact about boar bristles is that they are primarily made out of hard keratin so it smooths your hair (prevents frizz) and helps absorb excess oil while spreading it out to the entire strand.

It's actually well-known, but not talked about, within the hairstyling community that a lot of (specifically women) hairstylists will cut off more hair from people who have particularly long or beautiful hair. It's actually often from jealousy, not because hair needs a certain number of inches taken off.

    • @EloraEllery-fx3zg
      @EloraEllery-fx3zg 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

There's actually studies on it! One is called "off with her hair" on science direct. Women who score high in sexual competitiveness are the ones who cut off women clients hair. The more attractive you are perceived to be as a client compared to them, the more hair they cut off. Its not a conscious thing, and they often do justify it in their heads though. If you are perceived as less attractive than them, they don't cut off more. If you're about the same as them, they cut off a decent amount. If you're hotter than them, enjoy your pixie cut 😭

I swear this happens to me all the time! I got so traumatized by them always insisting on chopping more off than I was comfortable, I'd talk them into only doing an inch at most, and when I'd get turned around in my chair, it would be close to double the agreed upon amount and I'd never want to go back! Every single time my hair would finally get to a length I liked, everyone around me would pressure me into getting a trim that would leave me waiting a year for my hair to grow back. I can't believe they would do this on purpose. 😢

YES. We have similar hair types and I’ve noticed more and more lately that I have very little need for dry shampoo compared to before. As long as I have a sturdy clarifying shampoo that I use weekly, the dry shampoo makes so little difference. I went and bought a boar bristle brush after watching this video-very excited to pick it up! I’d heard of boar bristle brushes before, but was never inclined to get one until now.
I love watching you because I feel like your mind works a lot in the same way as mine (except perhaps without the crippling anxiety). You entertain and address a lot of the impulsive thoughts and curiosities I have about my hair, regimen, and LIFE itself. And perhaps many of us in the audience, not just me, relate. We quietly ponder about them. You actually say it out loud. Your videos are not only incredibly informative, but also validating.

I recently watched your video about women's hygiene and I love that you have included the topic of neurodiverse people and depression.
I have adhd myself and I'm really, really struggling with all those micro habits.
I often don't know what is a realistic routine (yes it is different from person to person and their needs) and I often feel like the routines which are often represented in social media are more vor overachiever who has more time than hours in a day.
I do want to treat myself also good and want to take *enough* care for myself but their are sooo many options and things I could do!
I would really love to see a video where you show us all your habits and routines you do over the day. Something like a morning or evening routine, for example. Also routine who acure monthly or you do once in a year.
I don't want to ask for that much, but also a video how you keep your home clean and welcoming would be nice 😅
My parents didn't cared so much about me and I feel like I have to parent and teach myself a hole new world of grown ups in a age of 24.
Also as an only child I can say: you are a truly big sister for me ❤

I'm almost at the end of the video, and I must commend you to another great upload! I've been struggling with my hair recently, and so the timing was perfect! I've always admired how you style your hair and recently got into satin bonnets so just AHHHH I'm so excited to try the stuff in the video at home! I'm adopted, and my mom (with pale, curly, thin afro like hair) never knew how to style my hair so the products she would use would end up damaging my hair (long, very thick dark hair). So I'm so so so excited to learn to finally take care of and love my hair! Amazing video as always!

Honestly I just put olive oil on my hair & braid it to go to sleep most of the time. The boar hair brush is a good tip, it promotes hair growth too because it stimulates blood flow to the scalp. I used to do that but stopped because my hair is almost to my knees at this point lol
