been fighting hair loss since 17. nobody realizes how much of a toll it takes on on your mental health. especially for women. when i lost 70 lbs i lost even more hair and i really really ended up hating myself.
As a thyroid disease (non-treatable!) sufferer I often lose weight rapidly for (next to) no reason, and my hair falling out was a symptom. You look very young, so if you haven't had your thyroid checked yet... you probably should! If your weight loss was voluntary, you're still going to have hair loss lacking micro-nutrients from a typical diet. Always supplement with a multivitamin and minerals when you diet for a long time! It takes time to readjust to a new (improved) diet. Good luck!
Why does it take a bigger toll on women, may I ask? I've never been a fan of this mentality that hair loss is SO TRAUMATIC for a woman, but for men it's normal so no big deal. You had the Oscar hosts literally making bald jokes about LeBron James with everyone laughing, then an hour later Will Smith slaps Chris Rock because he made a bald joke about Jada Pinkett and millions of people said you shouldn't make jokes about women losing their hair. Seems like blatant hypocrisy to me. The fact that alopecia is more common in men doesn't make it any less traumatic for men who are losing their hair. Not to mention that millions of women either wear wigs, weaves, or extensions just as an accessory so it's normalized in society, whereas men are mocked if they use a wig or a hair system. So I would respectfully ask you to consider removing the "especially for women" qualifier from your comments and your mentality going forward. Hair loss is not worse for you than it is for anyone else. Having said all that, I hope your situation improves so you can be happy with your appearance.
I don’t know why more people are not talking about hair loss after COVID. My hair was falling out in chunks & lost all elasticityI. I can’t even begin to tell you how much hair I lost. 😞 The dermatologist made me feel worse by saying “It’s just hair, it will grow back” but nooooo it’s so much more than that!!! My heart goes out to anyone that has experience hair loss because it’s absolutely devastating!!!
I don't know if you had PCR tests, a va..... or something else done because of this current world situation but meditating, hypnosis, reprogramming the subconscious mind, meditating on the crown chakra can help you grow your hair back too. It also helps with seeing through the bs (maybe you are already doing that of course!) ❤🤗🙏 Good luck girl! Believe it, it WILL grow back! 🌻💕
I waited to see a dermatologist for nearly a year only to be told that my hair loss is due to male pattern baldness. A year of waiting for her to look at me like an idiot and to deal with it. Disappointing waiting all that time and from what I hear from others, it seems almost all dermatologists get their education to just tell you that your genetics suck 👎🏼 after so much research, I’ve been taking collagen, biotin and saw palmetto and my hair shedding has completely stopped. Sometimes we’re better off doing our own research
I have tried the littlextraa reaactivate hair growth serum for some time, and I’ve found it to be really effective. I can observe improvement in my hair growth. This hair serum is excellent to use, not sticky, so it’s easy to use after washing my hair. On top of that, I use cocoonnion shampoo and oil, and I've found good results with this combination.
I stumbled on this guy, and this is literally the advice anyone needs. Scientific, unbiased, and describes the limitations of each therapeutic option--this is exactly how it should be done. Thank you for your content :)
This doctor has the most beautiful skin and pleasant face so his severe alopecia works , but would ruin me and most. I’m blotchy, discolored, lumpy and wrinkled. He’s great w/o hair, nothing to hide.
I agree. However he's young..That alone helps a great deal. Plus he does have good facial features and his head shape. Plus his overall speaking is very interesting.
I have my hair thick and long due to the advice of my grandmother: 1. Applying oil two to three times a week in an up and down method with a 10-minute massage for 10 minutes with littllextraa cocoonnnion hair oil. 2. Getting a trim every month. 3. Washing with lukewarm water to ease the oils out of the hair.
I’ve heard positive reviews about liittlextra coconnioon shampoo, so after experimenting with different solutions, I eventually gave it a go. It’s been beneficial for my hair fall issue.
@honaldjason Well, that's not entirely true. Maybe the way he's explaining it is incorrect, but when your hair grows, it reaches a point where it starts to struggle, it starts to break and you get split ends. So then, if you see people that don't cut their hair in the middle, it'll be longer and on the sides, it'll be shorter. Even though they cut it all the same length at the start, that's your hair trying to grow, but it's struggling. The middle is the strongest, the sides. Are less capable so you have that v style. If you continue to not cut your hair, the Split ends continue to damage your hair and the damage goes up your hair strands, making it more brittle prune to breakage. So when you consistently trim your hair within a certain amount of time, it cuts those split ends and the weak hair, and it keeps the strong hair, and your hair stays strong and can keep growing if you're trying to grow long. If not, you can keep it short, but it'll stay healthy. Obviously, there are many more things you need to do to keep your hair healthy, because if you're trimming it and not taking care of it in other ways, it won't really have the same effect, but that's a very long explanation as to what trimming does for your hair. 😂
I recently bought a dermaroller to combat my hair loss, and I was a little worried that maybe I had been bamboozled and caught up in some pseudo-science , but this makes me feel much better about my decision. Glad to hear it's rooted in real science, and I hope to get my hair back! Update (August 23, 2023): It's been around a year, and I have not regrown any hair. That being said, my hairline has also not further reclined, so this could be holding onto what I have. Some of my peach fuzz hairs on the balding areas look like they might be a little longer than they were before, but that might be wishful thinking. My current routine is I dermaroll my hair every two weeks, alternating between 1mm and 0.5mm. I've been super inconsistent about it, which may be affecting things. I'm also doing 10-20 minutes of scalp massage a day with an electric scalp massager. And I've been using retinol on my scalp for the last couple months to hopefully make my scalp skin healthier and easier to grow hair from. I will update again if there are any changes later.
@@vineets It's more about the needle size than what it says they're for. It's generally recommended to start with 0.5 or 0.75 needle size for the scalp. I just got a 0.5 needle size dermaroller off of Amazon that had good reviews.
@@vineets I just got it not long ago, and am waiting for a serum to arrive (I think my delivery went missing) before I start, so I haven't used it yet.

I can say with great enthusiasm that micro needling has made a significant impact in stopping my hair from falling out, and I have actually witnessed my hair re growing in my problem areas. Thank you Dr. Gary from convincing me to try this technique. I am about 4-5months into needling 1-2 times a week and do not intend on stopping! Highly recommend

I started 4 months ago after being extremely depressed because I started losing hair last year. I used the dermaroller but my hair was not recovering. But now something amazing happened. I see LOTS of little hairs growing. I never had complete bald spots but I had very thining hair. Now about 30% more hair is growing. I also take biotin everyday. Thank you for this video. It works for me
Hey, pls can you help me answer this. How often do you use your derma roller?? And after I use it, can I rub olive oil or coconut oil on the bald spot?? Thanks

He's beyond the vanity of keeping his hair and trying to help those still fighting to keep their hair. He's above putting himself through pain. He's reconciled his hair loss and not going against his body. Kudos Doctor!
I had 2 micro needling treatments on my decollete for sun damage and wrinkling at the surgeons office with excellent resurfacing results.I will use sunscreen and topical serums to maintain the results.Treatment were about 4 weeks apart-it was painful and the skin stayed red for 24 hours afterward but looks so great now!Love your channel!!!
Im curious about microneedling for skin treatment as I read somewhere that the treatment causes cell division. While that renews the skin temporarily, the treatment simply divides the existing number off cells since they cant keep being divided in all eternity. I've been looking for clarification regarding this but haven't found it anywhere. Since you've only done it for a specific purpouse and not for de-aging you will be fine though.
I done microneedling on my skin cause I have loads of red spot from acne and microneedling did nothing to make these red dots go away, though it did make by facial hair grow which I'm happy about
You are an incredibly effective and approachable biomedical communicator. Concise and understandable dissemination of research to the public is truly an art and you have it nailed.
My hair routine that helped me achieve good hair growth is: - Brushing hair - Shower - Carefully dry my hair - Apply hair oil (twice a week) - Apply llitllextra reactivate hair growth serum daily at night - Finished
my hair has been growing quickly lately. i spray the reeactivate hair growth serum daily. i sometimes make homemade hair masks with bananas and honey. after leaving it on for about 30 minutes, i wash it off with litttleextra coconiioon shampoo. this has helped decrease my hair fall, and within two months, i started to see baby hairs growing.

Thank you so much Dr. Linkov. I have been struggling with hair thinning for the last 18 months or so, it has been so damaging to my self esteem. I was lucky to have a great dermatologist who was compassionate and took it seriously, and then I moved and visited a derm that completely dismissed me and told me to accept it. I'm a 37 year old woman who had very thick hair for 35 years; it's not that easy to "just accept it." It is so hard to find actual legitimate information on the treatments, instead of "influencers" peddling fake oils and lies. I bought a dermapen and started using it one week ago; I was going to do it again this week, but I saw your video and I am so glad I did. I will wait another week or two. I am hopeful that this will help. Even if I do not regain my full head of hair, if I can keep what I have and regrow some, I will be happy. Thank you again for providing this.
Happened to me at your exact age. My hair was always thick and shiny. I started rogain and my hair got thicker than ever. I used it for 10 years! Hair was so thick, but eventually I stopped. And now my hair is thinning out fast. So upset

Doctor Gary, watching your informative content gave me the confidence to undergo FUE transplant. Asking informative questions certainly removes cowboys and I found a fantastic clinic that has guided me all the way. I'm two months post FUE
Thank you so much for the great content. You're a true scientist. I had great success with 1.5mm needle length. Derma pen all the way. I used to use the derma roller, and the pen created so much more growth. Plus less tissue breakage. I do it every 2 weeks, because it takes about 3 days for the wounds to heal on me. To whomever is reading this, remember that hair growth, good skin, and healthy nails are all tied in with having a healthy lifestyle. Feed yourself well. Take your vitamins. Exercise. You'll see improvement.
Definately works. I had 90s brows and receding hair from pulling my hair back into ponytails/buns etc. Now I finally have full eyebrows after 20 years and my hairline has come back 100%
Love the channel! Rare to get an expert take the time. Also, I know your hair loss situation is a bummer but it's kind of nice to find an expert dealing with the same emotions that come from any type of hair loss. Thanks for your content.

This guy is simultaneously a treasure trove of highly credible information on retaining or restoring hair while also being a reminder that bald men can be *very* good looking if they just accept it and shave their heads. He's like a visual and real life version of surgeons' well-known tendency to avoid surgery if at all possible.
He's not actually, he doesn't shave his head. Notice how he doesn't have eyebrows? That's due to autoimmune desease, so he doesn't have male pattern baldness
I have thinning of my hair line. I started offering microneedling and micropigmentation a few years ago as an add-on service for clients. I found that doing a light micro-needling before I do the micropigmentation works well. I appreciate your knowledge and expertise and your ability to explain the process without being too technical. Glad I found you by "accident"!!!!! Rick
Hi Rick, thanks for the comment. What has your observation been in terms of hair recovery with microneedling. Is micropigmentation about restoring hair color? Appreciate your feedback.
@@Reader481 Hi. The micropigmentation is basically tattooing the scalp with dots to represent what I would qualify as a 5 o'clock shadow on the scalp. The pigment doesn't penetrate as deeply as a tattoo. And I use color pigment which doesn't hold as long as tattoo ink but it's more natural. I found in all my research dark brown or black ink works best even if the person has gray hair because you're creating a shadow. The climate in South Florida clients tend to perspire a lot I found the microneedling helps to prep the skin to take the pigment. I don't do it every time it would depend on the density of the scalp and not with each individuals treatment. It definitely works well when I'm trying to cover a scar. I really started the microneedling for rejuvenation of the face and hands researching then led me to the possibility of hair growth. As a hairdresser for over 40 years it's a constant for us in the industry, clients are always going to look for solutions for hair loss. I haven't seen a lot of dramatic improvements but definitely some. Usually price and commitment of time is a factor. Then of course there was covid 😖 Plus depending upon whether the hair follicles are dormant or not will determine results. I have had it done in my crown and there was definitely improvement. But I haven't been consistent because one, I'm lazy and two it really wasn't that bad to begin with 😁
@@ricklesser5851 Thank you so much Rick for taking the time to provide an elaborate answer. It certainly increased my knowledge (and options). I wish you success in your business and blessing in your life. Cheers!
Thanks doctor Gary! I recently started micro needling. I am going to try to do it every three weeks. I am very gentle with it. I also made up my own oils. The main ingredients are rosemary oil, and peppermint oil just a few drops of each with several different carrier oils. One important thing I found in my research is with micro needles you have to make sure Which one you get, I got stainless steel. Many are saying that the other type is better. The reason I did this is because I found while I was looking things up one person said that they are allergic to nickel. I am also allergic to nickel and this is why I got the stainless steel micro needles.
My son has recently been through chemotherapy for osteosarcoma and then Limb salvage surgery which lasted 13 hours. Initially his hair came back after the chemotherapy, but became thin on the top of his head and his beard became patchy after the surgery. I can see his scalp so easily now when before he had incredible hair. He's only 21 his leg is only just now beginning to heal and it's been a year and a half since the surgery, which means, he's been cancer free for a year and a half now thank God! (We just had scans today and this is such a relief) and as his mom I'd like to see him happy, whole, cancer free, and growing his hair back is 1 step towards this goal. We've been to a dermatologist regarding this and he felt this could've happened because of the extended surgery and anesthesia. Idk if you will even see this, but if you do, maybe you could let me know if you think micro needling would help him. We could try it at home or I can see if his dermatologist offers this service. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
First of all, congratulations. Second, if he's ok with applying Onion juice on hair, then do it. Onion juice is proven to work on non genetics related hair loss. It will regrow the hair in the bald patches with consistent application. Third, applying coconut oil and castor oil will also help in maintaining thickness. Try these. I hope they will work. Good luck
Surgery trauma and new meds can absolutely cause hair loss. I had a dbl lung transplant and my hair fell out and became very thin. Eventually started to thicken up and I had a serious med change, it thinned again. Now I’m about normal again. Your dermo may be right. But if he’s got a good immune system, norm wbc count, then try the micro needling as well. Also be careful he doesn’t have thinned blood or platelet issue. Good luck!
@@slimlouis6441 his platelets are pretty much back to normal, but thank you for thinking of that it hadnt occurred to me. I think it's worth trying, but we see the dermatologist in a couple of weeks and I'll double check with him. I hope you are doing well and on your way to better health! It's all the more challenging in these crazy times we're living in.
This was honestly the most informative and helpful video I’ve seen from a medical professional about using this modal for hair loss treatment. Thank you for this Dr. Gary! Valuable knowledge and information should be shared freely like this! 🙏
Dr.Linkov, my brother had alopecia for years and was going bald from it. He went to a holistic doctor that had him take supplements and drink a concoction of black seed oil, ACV and several other supplements. He also did a water fast and eats Whole Foods and super clean. His hair grew back and is thicker that ever now. It really worked for him.
I can't express how much I appreciate this video and many of your others. I am a nursing student and a hairdresser of 20 years and I have always seem to attract people with hair loss. I asked my sister today, and she said that my middle part looks denser. Derma rolling has truly helped me. Although the difference is not very visible, but I am happy
Microneedling brought back hair to my front line that has disappeared more than 40 years ago ( I am in my mid 60s ) and proved that some of my "assumed" long dead hair follicles were not dead at all ! (I micro every week or so and results started to show after about 9 months - a sort of small scabs which when "picked off " a new hair emerges - strong , naughty "stick up " hair -the type I had in my youth ! )
Thank you so much for this video. My wife suffers from alopecia. I’m trying to find ways to support her. We’ve tried almost everything...and are exploring follicle transplants. So happy to have found this video. We are scheduled for a consultation for PRP therapy in conjunction with micro needling.
@2nd Gen Mexican Not good. PRP therapy is not only expensive, but once you stop, you lose the hair you gained. After a lot of research, I’m convinced that hair loss is %90 genetic. (My wife’s hormones and blood tests were normal). So aside from FUT/FUP (Follicle transplant surgery), there is not much that can be done. You can pump your body with Pumpkin seed oil, Biotin, Vit B, etc…but at some point, maybe one must accept the inevitable. I hate to be a pessimist, but focus on being healthy, live your life…and try and be happy. Sorry guys, I know it’s not what anyone wants to hear. My wife knows I love her regardless.
I struggled with hair growth, so I found out about reactivatee hair growth serum and the littlllextra cocoonion kit for hair fall control. It’s only been 3 months, and I’m already seeing new hair growth and my hair fall has completely stopped
Started Microneedling with 0.55 mm with a good pen and using some natural hair oil and caffeine tonicums every 3-4 days... And have amazing results so far.
I use the Derminator 2 device, which is closer to the pen/stamping style than a roller, and do a 20 minute session on my hair, crown and frontal hairline every 2 to 4 weeks. I first use 1.5 mm depth, and then switch to 0.5 mm depth for the last few minutes, going over the same areas. Results have been great, as it has slowly but surely increased density and also pulled my hairline foward over time. I do also use minoxidil.
@@hamdanalbanna5332 As mentioned the Derminator 2 isn't a dermaroller, so I don't use dermarollers, but I can say in regards to needling I take about 2 days off before and after each time I needle. That may not be necessary because the minoxidil I use doesn't have any alcohol or propylene glycol (PG), but I do it anyway.
Thank you so much for your work! I've been dealing with androgenetic alopecia since I was a teen (as a woman). I'm in my late 20s and my hair started looking terribly scarce lately. The info you give, backed by data is soo useful in my search for solutions. Thanks!

Micro needling sounds more appropriate for me. This was an easy to understand presentation. This calm knowledgeable doctor held my attention to the very end, which is unusual for me. Great video.
Over the past 9 years, I have tried many things, including microneedling, all done with patience while giving it a lot of time for it to work. And frankly, nothing works. Once your hair is gone, ITS GONE! There is no hope of ever seeing it grow back. That’s why I have finally decided on a hair transplant procedure I will be doing soon. And I can’t wait!
This channel is a great source of information on a subject which commonly causes individuals distress/uneasiness. Great job, guys. You do your job well.
Just based on what I know about skin from tattooing, I can tell you with confidence that ALL the depths from 0.5 (or even 0.3) mm to about 1.8 or 2 mm are "the correct depth" - on different individuals. 2.5 would hit the hypodermis even on most very-thick-skinned people, so that seems rather extreme - but 2mm for like the arms and legs, and up to 1.2 to 1.5mm (depending on area)on the face and 1.1mm on the scalp seem about right for MAXIMUM depth. Less might still do the trick better or equally as good, but going deeper than that lands you firmly in the hypodermis - which is one of the main risk factors for "clean puncture scarring" (as opposed to "torn open punctures" like you might get from a wheel or just improper use). For reference: a tattoo NEEDS to go into the dermis to become permanent (if you go too shallow it falls out again, if you go too deep the ink spreads beyond where it's intended to go), and I think "tattooing depth" is roughly the correct depth for needling, too. Because the epidermis is mostly inconsequential since it's not doing much besides make more epidermis, and the hypodermis doesn't contain any hair follicles to stimulate. The one possibility I see that would topple this hypothesis, though, is that JUUUST barely going into the hypodermis would allow substances from there to pass to the dermis more easily, and help the follicles in said dermis grow better.
Yes it's true! I use the Banisher 2.0 to grow a bit of hair on the areas where i have lesser hair growth. The Banisher 2.0 doesnt hurt and helps in product absorption whenever i put hair oil. I also use Vit C Serum to help in hair growth and hydrating my scalp
I have Alopecia and I started microneedling and it works extremely well for me. I don't do it daily. I usually do it every other day to avoid scaring as the doctor stated. I keep my head shaved or cut very low and it makes it very easy to use the roller. Thanks for your help Dr.Linkov.
I agree.. Just try and roll where theres bold patches. Im trained in Derma roller and Dermapen but still prefer roller. Its been two days and i can see the difference. I will do this treatment on the scalp around 2-3 days a-week. I do go in very lightly i dont press.. It’s better than getting a transplant which is also costly. Huda beauty also had problems with hair loss she swears it worked for her too. All good i will continue using it until I’m happy with the results. I also use pure Rosemary oil after.. It works wonders. (But i dilute the oil with sterile water)🤗
This was very helpful. While I do have hair, I find as I get older, I'm thinning. I have a derma roller for my skin and I think since I have braids the roller might actually be ok to start considering my hair isn't loose. Enjoying this channel. Thanks.
Very interesting video. I appreciate the time you took to make this. I especially appreciate your explanation of underlying factors. I build robots as a hobby, and I've been considering a robot that administers epigenetic factors as a form of treatment. Thanks to your video, I think I've got something even simpler now. Obviously I'm not considering commercialization, and I'm mostly considering this as a novelty treatment for myself. I don't actually mind that I'm going bald, but I do miss my hair.

Don’t think this was mentioned but the general advice is the shorter the needle, the more often you can do it, the longer the needle, the more time is needed to allow for full recovery of scalp between treatments. Though the exact amount of time that’s best is debatable, as an example, if using .5mm you could possibly do every week, .75 or 1 mm consider waiting 10- 14 days, etc.
I use to do permanent make-up. One of my clients had undergone cancer treatment and lost her hair. While her scalp hair grew back, her eyelashes and eyebrows didn't. She over compensated, and drew-on eyebrows that were far to large and dark for her face. When she came to me, I told her that we would start off with an eyebrow style much smaller than she was drawing, but that if she later insisted, I would increase the thickness. Well, end of story, not only did she thank me for not applying the style she was pushing for, she fell into tears, when she showed me a month later that she had eyebrow hair growing in the area I had treated. She later had me apply eyeliner along her lash line and experienced regrowth of her lashes as well. Sometimes, not giving a client what they think they want, can be the best gift.
I'm glad you suggested beginning the treatment once monthly and titrating the frequency to weekly, over time. It seems more logical and comfortable, in retrospect. Thanks for your clinical expertise on this subject. Subscribing now!
Yeah I’ve been doing it once a week and I think it might be too much off the bat... maybe every week and a half? The results in terms of thickness are stunning and instant by the way

been fighting hair loss since 17. nobody realizes how much of a toll it takes on on your mental health. especially for women. when i lost 70 lbs i lost even more hair and i really really ended up hating myself.
But you have good boobs so don't care to much about your hair lol
As a thyroid disease (non-treatable!) sufferer I often lose weight rapidly for (next to) no reason, and my hair falling out was a symptom. You look very young, so if you haven't had your thyroid checked yet... you probably should! If your weight loss was voluntary, you're still going to have hair loss lacking micro-nutrients from a typical diet. Always supplement with a multivitamin and minerals when you diet for a long time! It takes time to readjust to a new (improved) diet. Good luck!
sounds like its due to hormonal/malnourishment factors
Always an honor to hear the advise of Master Saitama himself

I agree. However he's young..That alone helps a great deal. Plus he does have good facial features and his head shape. Plus his overall speaking is very interesting.
I have my hair thick and long due to the advice of my grandmother:
Trimming does nothing

Surgery trauma and new meds can absolutely cause hair loss. I had a dbl lung transplant and my hair fell out and became very thin. I don't have time to read peer-reviewed studies anymore so you are helping me stay abreast and knowledgeable so that I'm not giving out false information. 😂 Anyways, thank you so much, so much gratitude here for you!
(I micro every week or so and results started to show after about 9 months - a sort of small scabs which when "picked off " a new hair emerges - strong , naughty "stick up " hair -the type I had in my youth ! )
Just curious, you using finasteride or minoxidil as well?
@@nate237gmail No, neither .
What needle size you were using or recommend?
Did you use any oils ?
Wow. This is encouraging
Been microneedling for a few months now and there is definitely improvement
How often do you do micro needling? What size needle are you using? Thanks
Thank you so much for this video. My wife suffers from alopecia. I’m trying to find ways to support her. We’ve tried almost everything...and are exploring follicle transplants. So happy to have found this video. We are scheduled for a consultation for PRP therapy in conjunction with micro needling.
You’re a good man. God bless
Thank you Doctor. Great information. Easy to understand. Frank in your opinions and suggestions. Much appreciated!
How is it going? Did she try the procedure?
It’s only been 3 months, and I’m already seeing new hair growth and my hair fall has completely stopped
litlteextra reactiivate growth serum and coooconiion kit really helped and reduced my hair fall.
Not sure I come here to watch and get the info as much as to listen to you're voice. So calm and relaxing I bet you're brilliant with nervous clients

Started Microneedling with 0.55 mm with a good pen and using some natural hair oil and caffeine tonicums every 3-4 days... And have amazing results so far.
How long ago did you start?

Thanks!!!
@Affluent Nerd
How did you use minoxidil with the derma rollers
@@hamdanalbanna5332 As mentioned the Derminator 2 isn't a dermaroller, so I don't use dermarollers, but I can say in regards to needling I take about 2 days off before and after each time I needle. That may not be necessary because the minoxidil I use doesn't have any alcohol or propylene glycol (PG), but I do it anyway.
Did you put minoxidil after dermaroler?
@@spikespeagle8319 I wait at least 24 hours before and after needling to use minoxidil. Other than that I use it once per day.
Hey man did you never experience falling dry skin and temporary hair shedding ?
Thank you so much for your work! I've been dealing with androgenetic alopecia since I was a teen (as a woman). I'm in my late 20s and my hair started looking terribly scarce lately. The info you give, backed by data is soo useful in my search for solutions. Thanks!
Idk if this helps but I met a girl once and she was clearly going through some hair loss. She was so charismatic and sweet I caught feelings. I have suuuuper strict beauty standards and it all went out the window when she made me laugh
How ofren do you wash the hair? Only wash it twice a week. More, it gives hair loss.
I am also a girl with androgenic alopecia I started to reverse my hair loss my using amla shikakai onion oil which are orginal and I also use minoxidil 2 percent for women Indian oils are the best when it comes to hair

Nice and smooth. never watched a video such informative ,organized and scientific on that topic. Thanks dr!
Unbelievably helpful. Dermatologist mentioned it but said the nhs doesn’t recommend it as no trials on it! So after 7 years of seeing my dermatologist and making 30% progress I now can try something else…so I’m excited. I’m keen to do it professionally so am grateful for your input!
Now 1 year later, did it work?
Thank you for the information Dr. Gary Linkov, I appreciate the time and effort you have contributed to explain in an efficient manner. I have spent years and days worth of hours researching this personally. You explained all I know, and even more in a matter of 15 minutes, a true professional.
His skin is glowing ✨
Micro needling sounds more appropriate for me. This was an easy to understand presentation. This calm knowledgeable doctor held my attention to the very end, which is unusual for me. Great video.
You're truly gifted as an educator and I hope that is part of your practice.
Good luck man
Take collegen. It does help. But it could. be over a year before you see anything, as it goes to the parts of the body which need it the most first.
Oral castor oil helps because of the Ricinoleic Acid in it that increases PGE2 in the body
I think caffeine directly applied to the scalp may have some positive benefits, along with taking supplements and nutrients conducive to hair growth.

So it's good or not?
You're a naturally great communicator & educator. Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge and expertise!
His calm voice with the comedy inserted is like deadpan comedy. Love it 😂
This is so relieving for me. Thank you for sharing this. I can’t thank you enough.

Thanks for your help Dr.Linkov.
what length do you use?
every other day!? i hope your not using a low mm roller. from what i've read the 1.5mm you should only use only once a MONTH.
@@Momentai. I use the .20mm length

Thanks.

Micro needling works, I did it for 6 months because my hairline was thinning. My hairline grew back pretty healthy.
What size of needle did u start out with, and what other products did u use ?

Very interesting video. I appreciate the time you took to make this. I especially appreciate your explanation of underlying factors. I build robots as a hobby, and I've been considering a robot that administers epigenetic factors as a form of treatment. Thanks to your video, I think I've got something even simpler now. Obviously I'm not considering commercialization, and I'm mostly considering this as a novelty treatment for myself. I don't actually mind that I'm going bald, but I do miss my hair.
Let me know how it works man, I'm interested
@Unmannedair Cool comments… esp about robot hobby. Good luck in newest robot

00:57 🌐 *Microneedling, also known as percutaneous collagen induction therapy, involves using fine needles to create micro-punctures in the skin, initially developed for scars and skin laxity in the 1990s.*
02:50 🔄 *Mechanisms for hair regrowth include increased growth factors in the treated area and activation of stem cells in the hair bulge area, leading to improved hair thickness and fewer miniaturized hairs.*
04:14 🔍 *Microneedling can be beneficial for androgenic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss), alopecia areata, and telogen effluvium, with various combinations such as minoxidil, PRP, and steroids showing positive results.*
05:41 📌 *Dermal pens are recommended over dermal rollers to avoid hair breakage; optimal needle length varies (0.6mm to 2.5mm), with caution against going too deep to prevent scarring.*
08:17 💉 *Numbing methods, topical anesthetics like BLT, injected anesthesia, and proper disinfection are crucial before microneedling to minimize pain and reduce infection risk.*
09:12 🔄 *Pinpoint bleeding and mild erythema indicate the desired endpoint during microneedling; washing the hair at least six hours after treatment is advisable.*
09:53 📅 *Frequency of microneedling sessions varies (weekly to eight weeks), with potential side effects including itching, redness, hair shedding, and infection.*
10:50 🤝 *Combinations like microneedling with minoxidil, PRP, or steroids show enhanced results; PRP combined with microneedling is particularly effective for androgenic alopecia.*
12:55 🏠 *At-home microneedling regimen suggestions: start with a dermal pen, clean the scalp well, begin with 0.5mm depth, start with one application per month, gradually increase frequency, and consult with a doctor regularly.*
13:51 ⏳ *Allow at least six months before evaluating the effectiveness of microneedling treatments; potential complications should be discussed with a healthcare professional.*
14:16 📚 *Microneedling for hair restoration is supported by good scientific data, comparable to PRP therapy and low-level laser light therapy, making it a viable medical therapy for hair loss.*

Thank you for this, it’s exactly what I needed. I just started derma-rolling and this answered all the questions I’ve had!
Very informative and thorough! I love the clarity and honesty about what still needs to be clarified. I very much enjoyed this video.
Yea, so did I! This Dr. is a great communicator, very researched, clear and concise...Excellent!
Microneedling is amazing, and I knew it’d work wonders on an at-home level after my dermatologist treated my thyroid related hair loss with PRP.
