I wish people would realise that hair loss is hardly ever the result of vitamin or mineral deficiencies, but I do understand that most people are hesitant to accept that they actually have male pattern baldness.
I started taking minoxidil and finasteride and got no results, then started taking vitamins and minerals along with the meds and my hair started growing back. I'm a vegetarian so it was probably a combination of both.
I had a friend that was convinced his was due to medications and his illness which I can understand that is possible, however it looked like male pattern baldness to me.
My standard bloodwork was normal when I experienced hair loss but had the doctor test my Ferritin levels which isn't a standard test, getting a full iron panel showed my Ferritin at 2.. The rest of the "iron levels' were high but I went on iron supplements and my ferritin went up to 50 and the iron & TIBC normalized. Hair loss stopped and hair grew back. Highly recommend people getting ferritin checked..
@@blankspaceforyou Yes, but my hemoglobin was normal to begin with.. so no typical anemia assessed. I'm in the research sciences, and honestly, don't believe most doctors know how iron tests are supposed to be read. Many people are deficient and don't know it since the standard tests test for anemia in the hemoglobin. And many will show High Iron and TIBC when they get a Full Iron Panel, unfortunately, only the ferritin counts with many types of anemia. And this will definitely cause hair loss..
I think what's interesting in this particular case study is that all the vitamins + minerals he's taking support the nervous system AND address the low availability of sunlight(vit D) Northern Europe experiences for 9 months of the year.
@@Bakanelli yes, but if you aren't getting as much time outdoors, you won't be getting as much vitamin D. You will suprised to know lots of people are deficient in vit D cause many spend lots of time indoors, esp since 9-5pm office jobs are some of the most common form of employment.
@@Nicole-kc1vx fair point. The other extreme is people sunbathing thereby exposing themselves to ionising radiation specially when the sun is at 90 degree angle and radiation travels through the least amount of ozone layer which filters ionising radiation. There’s a balance in just about anything.
@@BakanelliSometimes, your skin can still be not efficient in absorbing vitamin D through the sun. I was working in mail delivery and even after a heath stroke without sunscreen, my vitamin D was so low it affected my calcium. I am white thoug, but I still have to supplement 2000 units to not be deficient.
@@Bakanelli Yeah but most people aren't getting enough vitamin D anyways. You can't really get all of your vitamin D through sun exposure, and when you're living in a dark climate (regardless of if you're pale or not) it's more important to supplement your vitamin D through your diet. I mean, even people on the equator still need to eat some level of vitamin D. So imagine what it's like living in Russia or Canada, where sunlight is limited and inconsistent.
I started on oral Finasteride and oral Minoxidil yesterday October 22, 2024. All purchased from your company and I was treated in a professional manner. Great people to work with. I’m 69 and I don’t care what age a person is, wanting your hair back is always on your mind every time you “have” to look in the mirror. I started on topical Minoxidil years ago and then a couple years back, I went to applying it only once per day to try and maintain what hair I had. It was such a pain to apply it twice a day, just messy. I accidentally came across your website and I wasn’t looking for any type of hair regrowth. I learned so much listening to your videos and had no idea that oral Minoxidil was even available. I’m very happy to report that I have had zero side effects! I have very long hair, but with the top of my head going bald I have been wearing a hat everywhere I go. I took pictures and I’m confident that my future pictures will show hair growth, which I will share. Thank you for all your time and money given to all these excellent videos - very much appreciated.
You gonna kill your kidneys! Fin makes kidney cell apoptosis! A safer way to use 0,06 mg finasteride topical (1mg/ml)! Go to a pharmacist to mix it out for you and stay away from oral! Even topical gonna give you side effects! Use NOW saw palmetto liquid capsules. 2 a day instead of 1!
@@Eusou13Maybe I misrepresented my hair condition. My head of hair looks very much like the gentleman that the doctor is commenting about. The picture that showed his hair loss.that is. The only difference is that my hair still grows longer and that is because of a product called “Drformulas” - Hair Omega 3 in 1. Hair on top and front that generally does not grow long anymore still does and my hair also grows way faster. Presently my hair is way below my chest. My hair is in competition with my chest, on which will get closer to my stomach. Lol.
Any guy who wears a hat - he’s balding. By the way guys, you’re not supposed to wear a hat inside . if you do, you’re balding. Women laugh at you. Do you think they’re stupid? If you get them into an intimate situation, what are you going to do, glue your hat to your head? That’s not really a problem because if you’re wearing a hat constantly you’re never going to get into that situation are you? You are bald.
@@davidrossi1486 I’m not sure what your point is other than psychobabbling about wearing a hat. You seem to think that when a person wears a hat, they become ignorant and thus will never possibly get a date or find a woman that can’t stop laughing at them. Hats seem to make you act a bit hostile, maybe an intervention with a hat psychologist might help.
My maternal grandfather had a full head of gorgeous thick hair when he passed away at 81. My brother didn't inherit that gene, and instead got my father's balding
Hair genes come from the mothers side of the family. If your maternal grandfather or grewt grand father had decent hair then you'll be fine. My great grandfather died with almost a full head of hair. And my great aunt hair is still dense and getter denser and she is 87 years old

Something that I haven't heard anyone talk about is brushing the hair from the neck down and then back up. I've been doing it for a couple of years now and my hair feels a lot smoother and less brittle. Your body creates a natural oil that moisturizes your scalp and throughout the day most of it builds up on the hair in the back. I'm assuming this is why when people bald the hairs on the sides and back stay intact.
at 30 I started to notice hair loss at my forehead line im 35 now and want to prevent more lass . thank you for this break down Dr Gary about what works and what doesn't.
i lived in fear of losing my hair in my 20s and 30s only to realize in my 50s, with a full head of hair, that I actually could live without it. Hairloss seems to be a boogeyman to men in their 20s and 30s. If you still feel insecure about baldness passed that age range, you have deeper hangups to reflect on.
@@matureyoungman I never understood the point that if you complain about losing your hair you have psychological problems or insecurities. Even so, does that justify having more additional problems? From what I understand you didn't go bald even in your 50s right? Then trust me you don't really understand. Losing your hair sucks at any age. It's incredible that they haven't found a real solution yet.
I have had prolonged iron and vitamin D deficiency and supplementation has helped that. I've had to get labs done because high levels of both can be toxic but thanks to regular bleeding I am not really at risk of iron overload. I think its worth checking if you have risk factors like premenopausal women and low sun exposure/melanated skin.
I have to say when I was a young teenager and I had gone to a movie with a friend and her Father drove us and he was losing his hair and had a massive comb over and I don't know why but I was very embarrassed for him. I went home and asked my Father if he would do a favor for me. He looked at me seriously and asked what and I said if you start going bald would you just wear a hat if my friend's come over and he smiled and said Yes. I have to say that I am from the Choctaw and Chickasaw nation and you rarely see bald American Indians. He never lost his hair and it wouldn't have cared any way but I know men and women can both lose their hair and it definitely affects how we feel about ourselves.
I remember when i was a child like 10-12 years old i had an uncle which i liked very much. One day I've noticed that his crown is practically completely bald and i was shocked because this was the first time I've experienced somebody balding instead of just being bald and i remember i asked my mother if my uncle is dying. And it was the most natural reaction and the funny thing is that this is how bad it looks literally like you are very sick. I also remember that i was in the church as a child and it was completly fully crowded and somebody farted and it was a horrible smell and my eyes quickly noticed a balding guy in the crowd and i automatically suspected him and hated him for that. I wonder if this is a natural reaction of every child or not, , but i always remember i looked at people with hair better as a child.
OTOH, blood work was critical for me. I discovered that I am borderline deficient in iron and very deficient in vitamin D. So, I take iron and Vitamin D+K2 supplements, oral minoxidil, and went on bio-identical HRT. I got my hair back. As a happy side note, my joints feel better and my skin improved. The CDC estimates that 40% of all Americans are clinically deficient in Vitamin D and many women (even menopausal women) struggle with anemia. This deficiencies didn't CAUSE my balding; but they halted any hope of regaining a full head of hair even with hormone therapy and minoxidil.

You said some patients use Finasteride for decades, what's your opinion on this? Here in Germany the recommendation is to not use it/stop using it when you're 40 (because it can make the detection of prostate cancer more difficult). So basically you will lose your hair at 40 if you stop. Also: oral minoxidil is not approved for hairloss here in Germany, I don't know if it ever will be (you need a prescription for high blood pressure to get it). And as such it is recommended that you take it together with a beta blocker to inhibit the adrenalin and a diuretic drug. Are German doctors too careful? If you look on reddit or something, EVERYONE is taking Minoxidil and Finasteride and almost everybody is just self medicating, mostly very young people and dismissing any risks.
it is not more difficult to detect prostate cancer. all u have to do is let your doctor know you are on finasteride and they will simply adjust the PSA numbers to accommodate. for a competent doctor it is very simple. also in the long term finasteride lowers your chances of getting prostate cancer to begin with. the other way is to stop finasteride for 4-6 weeks before ur blood work to get ur levels back to baseline and then get back on it after u get ur bloodwork/PSA numbers. that little break will do no harm to your hair and u can put ur mind at ease that your doctor interpreted the results properly. all fin does is lower ur PSA numbers by 50% so its as simple as double ur PSA result to get accurate results.
Hi there, rosemary oil is proven to have a very similar effect as minoxidil without the side effects. Combined with micro needling it works very well for many people with alopecia/hair loss. Give it a try!
Nevermind the fluff. 1) 1mg/day finasteride, 2) 5% Minoxidil once a day, 3) Microneedling once a week (no Minox on that day), 4) Ketoconazole Shampoo, 5) Laser Helmet/Comb 3x per week. Period!
I tried oral finasteride and had awful sexual side effects. I stopped it for 3 months. I started it back a couple months ago starting with a 1/4 tablet then 1/2 and now a full 1mg tablet. I find I don't suffer the side effects now. I guess my body got accustomed to it. I also take a prostate supplement that has pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto with absolutely no side effects. My hair does appear thicker
I never promote "natural remedies" when people ask me about my hair loss. It requires far too many pills, liquids, shampoos, etc etc and so on. The chances of side effects just increase as you stack more BS "maybe it works" stuff into your routine. The harm it can cause to your kidneys and gut from taking so much crap, they might as well take whats PROVEN to work, fin/ minox blend in topical form and has documented side effects and percentages (which are extremely low/ 1-2%). I always tell guys to spring for propecia so they can get 1mg pills and take 0.5mg/day instead of even 1mg. All the research Ive ever seen shows 0.5mg being the optimal dosage for fin but unfortunately you can only get the 5mg pills and even cutting that into 4 pieces has you at 1.25mg...WAY TOO MUCH. One thing people dont discuss is how quickly they start a regiment after balding hits. If you can start sooner rather than later, results are far more noticeable and quicker. Starting 6 months after heaving hair loss vs. 4 years after its started, that sort of thing.
So Doctor Gary, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos on hair loss and transplants. You always reiterate the importance of finasteride and minoxidil. This medical therapy you stress before and after a hair transplant, is the idea supposed to be that I’m on these medications got the rest of my life? I’m really averted to medical therapy because of the side effects of the medication. Mainly, man-boobs from finasteride. I really want to get a hair transplant and have a nice full thick head of hair, but not if I have to have boobs with it. Is my understanding wrong?
Hi Doc, was wondering if you could tell us something about using verteporfin after a hairtransplant. Do you consider doing that with your patients in the future?
Finasteride prevents testosterone to DHT conversion (DHT is the hormone that binds with male pattern sensitive hair follicles and cause miniaturization and eventually male patten baldness) So, when we start Finasteride, suddenly testosterone is not converted to DHT which results in a sudden spike of testosterone in our body. Our body might respond to this sudden increase in testosterone by aromatizing the excess testosterone to estrogen. This estrogen is causing the sexual side effects. In puberty, some boys get gynaecomastia (breast tissue) due to testosterone spikes during puberty and similar aromatization of testosterone to estrogen. But our body eventually gets used to the excess testosterone and will stop aromatizing to estrogen and side effects will subside after the initial period. So you could start with lower doses of Finasteride to prevent the spike in testosterone and then slowly increase your way up to 1 mg to avoid side effects.
Hey Doctor Gary. I swim a lot and wanted to know if the chlorine is bad for the scalp and hair. My hairline is very receded and I take oral minoxidil and finasteride. I am 65 and I swim about 4 hours a week without a bathing cap. Love your show. Trying to do what's best for my thinning and receding hair.
you probably have a healthy diet. A good diet increases testosterone but with testosterone comes dht and then finasteride has more to fight against so I would suggest that you should start eating junk food in order to keep the hair killing testosterone down.
god, gary you need to get whatever it is neccessary to sell your products to turkey, man. I want your products but cant get them, especially that oral minoxidil which is not sold in turkey as an oral tablet
People seem to not want to talk about the main side effect of Finasteride, which is NOT erectile disfunction, but the inability to ejaculate/orgasm. Which I’m guessing was his problem. I see this A LOT with patients on this drug & remember it’s better to go & talk to your doctor rather than be embarrassed & just stop taking the medication. Usually, just a simple change in dosage is all it takes to get your “member” back to working properly or alternating every other day, again on a different MG dosage. Also, there are also a lot of men who actually like this side effect, because of the fact the last longer. I’ve also had “minute men” say it was a life changer for them. They were able to last 30-60 minutes longer. But remember, never be embarrassed to talk to your doctor. Trust me they’ve seen/heard it all, I promise you.
I dated a man in his early 50's who had the thickest, fullest head of hair I've ever seen, and he was an alcoholic, drank 6-13 beers a day. Go figure! He ate NO sugar (except what was in the beer), and subsisted on only beef and potatoes. He ate A LOT of meat. But you can guess why I left.
I have noticed this clinically. Alcohol suppresses the creation of testosterone and its conversion to DHT. In addition it promotes the expression of oestrogen in male bodies. One of the results of this is the development of “man boobs” among other things. Nice spotting.
If you say it's a misconception that a DHT blocker and/or finasteride might promote hair regrowth and only helps to stop further loss, how would you say he managed to regrow this much hair? It looks like he doubled the amount of hair he previously had. Is it just minoxidil to regrow and then finasteride and/or other DHT blockers to keep it?
DHT blocker will stop thinning the hair so it can grow back and minoxidil will enhance growth plus makes the hair stronger with the increased blood flow, so yeah, it's both. If you just do minoxidil your hair will "grow back" but you'll still lose over time since the thinning is still happening, and if you just block DHT your hair will stay pretty weak because of lower blood flow
I take finasteride and minoxidil but lately every time i take it, it is giving me a dull ache near my liver on my right side. Its concerning me for sure.
Doctor Gary, I know you prescribe a dose of 2.5 minox through "feel confident". Is this the dose you recommend to remain on or how do you feel about higher doses of oral minox?
Dont know if he will answer but ive been on 5mgs for 4 months now. 2.5mgs for 6 months. 0 side effects in both cases. My trichologist says minox in low dosages (under 10mgs) is a very safe drug. She even takes it because it makes her hair stronger.

Because you don't understand the mechanics of your own sexual function. Also, it doesn't "increase testosterone", it prevents your testosterone from converting in DHT, which means some stays as Testosterone and around 20-30% will convert into estrogen. It's obviously affecting your natural hormonal makeup significantly, and that's why it causes ED in many (yes, many) people. For some people it goes away, some are happy to live with reduced erectile function in exchange for better hair, and for others it persists. People praise this particular doctor for this way of delivery, but the reality is that he makes his livelihood by selling these drugs, and therefore can't be trusted as an impartial source.
Hey, Doc. Probably no scientific research on this, but for some, topical finasteride works better. Oral for 2 years made the hair fall stop. Never had a shed. Topical for 3 weeks caused massive shed with good regrowth I never thought I'd get. Even my left temple filled in to almost look exactly like my right temple.

I’ve watched some of these and I’m really glad it worked. My husband tried it all and had side effects and no new growth. Wish it would’ve helped tho.
Well if you needed blood work to know that would happen then you probably didn't research it well enough in the first place. Also, it didn't "double your testosterone". It prevented around 70% of your testosterone converting into DHT, around half of which will have stayed as testosterone and the rest will have converted into estrogen.
@@wasteman3259 That's not true. Finasteride reduces the conversion of Testosterone to DHT by 70%. The amount that converts to Estrogen is usually 10-20%, so what do you think happens to the other 50%? It stays as testosterone. If any doctor/ trichologist/ dermatologist has told you otherwise then they don't know what they're talking about, which sadly is not uncommon when giving these hormone altering drugs.
@@wasteman3259 and "should have no real effect around 15%". Again, this is nonsense, if you already have high estrogen levels, an extra 10-20% will have a very big effect. I mean, as will cutting 70% of a sexual hormone...

3:58 makes me think of something. Stem cell based growth of organs such as the heart is being worked on. I remember in 2019 Israeli scientists showed a fully developed heart that was "3D printed" from stem cells but it didn't yet have the right size. They said that in 15 years (which would be in 2034, so 10 years from now) they want to implant the first stem-cell grown heart. Now growing hair follicles from stem cells will surely be a thing one day then as well. If we can grow a damn hearrt, hair follicles surely will be possible as well. The potential industry is wayyyyy too big for that to not happen. Just look at all the people getting hair transplants every year. However this will take more time. It won't happen in the next 5 years but maybe...idk...15 years? 20? And if those hair follicles then are altered to not have these DHT-receptors they could be immune to hair loss, right? 🤔 This would eliminate the need for medical therapy and it would also make the procedure less invasive cause you'd no longer have to cut out the follicles at the back of the head which in turn would probably further increase the number of patients. Meanwhile you could have an unlimited number of hair follicles to treat whatever size of hair loss has occurred. This would probably balloon the industry behind this to a greater size. No need for meds, less invasive, any size and severity of hair loss being treatable - that'd probably make the proceures more expensive as well but they'd also be WAY more desirable. So more people might take it while also paying more. Because of that already I can't imagine that this will never be a thing. 100% it'll be a thing. The potential is just WAY too big. BUT: it will take time. Edit: I just googled and in 2021 around 150K people in NA and ~110K in Europe got a hair transplant done. Worldwide it is 700K people. Imagine this ballooning to, say, 4x the size (cause generally speaking more people get it done and it's also more attractive) with treatment price increasing (due to inflation, more complex procedures and higher attractiveness of the procedure). Let's say in 20 years there's 2.5 Million procedures per year but instead of an average price of ~$3000 it it now, say, $10,000. That would equate to a $25b dollar industry. Obviously this is just "What if" make believe. In German we call it "Milk girl calculation" (no I don't know why) but I think it's safe to say that the industry will grow a lot in the coming decades and whenever big money is involved...well then companies aren't far away in an attempt to push things further.
does anyone know what gary suggests you do if you're not yet balding at all but you want to do everythign you can to delay it as long as possible? Does he have a video on this?
Post covid patients may develop more side effects from finasterid. What are the options ? I experience foggy brain from topical finasterid too. Any idea ?
I been on finasteride for 3 years and minoxidil 2 and half. I started with 1 mg and never got off 1 mg. Only side effect I can say I personally experienced was watery semen and that has improved since the baseline. My hair looked awful before starting finasteride and minoxidil. After a year it had improved alot. I will say this at least for me, I was 37 when I Began fin so MBP- male pattern baldness had destroyed my hairline. Even though fin and mix brought back about 80% of density back, combovers looked hideous snd I had to wear hats. So i opted for a hair transplant 2 years ago and so far so good. My advice for anyone whos losing hair due to MBP, think about hopping on fin and min its almost the only thing that can give you a fair chance of fighting the hair reaper. Stabilizing your hair loss is crucial whether you want to opt for a hair transplant or just keep what you currently have.
Hi! Can you please answer? Do any finasteride work the same? Is there any difference between buying propecia and 5mg tablets that cost 20 times less? Thank you very much!
Female pattern baldness is also a product of DHT sensitivity, so reducing DHT production in women is likely also a key part in preventing further hair loss. There is no reason why women shouldn't take finasteride or dutasteride. The only reason they don't allow women to take them is because it can lead to deformities in male fetuses. But surprise surprise, not every woman wants to have children at all. I think doctors should inform people of this and then let them decide. Yknow, informed consent.
Dutasteride 9 months and losing hair. I have stubborn seborrheic dermatitis and it's likely the cause of my continuous hair loss. Forehead and Scalp not oily anymore though due to the decrease of 5a reductase type 3 if i remember correctly.
I just recently got hair transplant surgery in my home country. I was wondering, what kind of doctor/specialist should I look to get in touch with, to get these dosages of Minox/Fenisteride prescribed correctly to me and have a follow-up appointments with. Can you advise?
I notice a lot of super muscular guys have male pattern baldness. Bodybuilders, athletes, guys at the gym. Makes me wonder, did they use steroids and the steroids contributed to their hair loss? Did their intense weightlifting cause their testosterone to spike, causing their hair loss? Were they losing their hair anyway and chose to focus on weightlifting to compensate for their hair loss? I've read where intense weightlifting can lead to hair loss, not sure if true since I only perform moderate weightlifting for maintenance and not anything intense like heavy Olympic weightlifting (squats, deadlifts, power cleans, etc)
Weight lifting, exercising in general does raise testosterone levels but it's not to superphysiological levels, so they wouldn't lead to hairloss, but steroids do cause a superphysiological raise in testosterone, that testosterone will covert into DHT thus leading to hairloss. Bald men do feel the need to compensate for their lack of hair with muscles and a beard
Most of the bald guys started experiencing hair loss before going to the gym, it’s the hair loss that made them go to the gym to look and feel better and confident, they also grow beards to compensate. Testosterone doesn’t make you lose hair but the dht, some scalps are sensitive to it and some are not, depending on the genes.
As a female, I tried saw palmetto supplements and it did not work for me at all. I am female so our hormones affect everything. At 47 I got my 1st hormone panel (labs) and am waiting on the results for answers. Update: got my 1st hormone panel results back and they are NORMAL for a woman in premenopause and my primary care refused to prescribe HRT, waiting to see a GYN. On meantime got my 1st estradiol cream.
Do you mean you experienced side effects? Or that it just didn't do anything? Saw Palmetto is an extremely weak DHT blocker, some people will probably be annoyed by reading this but it doesn't really do anything for people who are experiencing real hair loss. Unless you can find another underlying issue for the hair loss, a combination of spironolactone and minoxidil (if you have any blood pressure or heart issues, topical is recommended) is very effective for women who are experiencing hair loss.
Does DHT play a significant role in other ways? I know of its role in BPH and obviously hair loss. But depriving one of DHT for lets say 2 decades? would it cause any other side effects? musle mass loss or energy or memory problems?
I started taking minoxidil in May of this year and experienced the “dread shed” a month into it. Then in September I had great results. Hair seemed fuller and thicker. I had good coverage. But by mid October I experienced shedding again. Not sure if this is normal. If someone could shine some light I would appreciate it.
Hello, I am currently undergoing laser hair removal treatments to reduce body hair, and I am very interested in maintaining and enhancing these results. At the same time, I would like to use minoxidil to increase hair density on my scalp. Since laser hair removal primarily targets hairs in the active growth (anagen) phase - typically about 10-15% of body hair at any given time - I am curious about whether minoxidil, which promotes the anagen phase, might interact with these treatments. Specifically: 1. Could using minoxidil improve the efficiency of laser hair removal by increasing the percentage of hairs in the anagen phase, allowing more hair to be effectively targeted in each session? 2. Or, on the other hand, could minoxidil interfere with the long-term results of laser hair removal by promoting new hair growth in areas that have already been treated? Essentially, I would like to understand if minoxidil for scalp hair density might have any unintended consequences on my laser hair removal results, or if it could potentially enhance the treatment’s effectiveness.
When I met the man I married, age 23, and I was 20, he had the beginning of male pattern baldness. I thought it was sexy 'cuz it's something only men have, those deep temples. He was worried that once he went bald, I wouldn't like him any more. I stayed with him for 18 years. By then he had half a head of hair, and it looked funny 'cuz he kept it shoulder length, but that's not why I left. It was the emotional abuse.

I wish people would realise that hair loss is hardly ever the result of vitamin or mineral deficiencies, but I do understand that most people are hesitant to accept that they actually have male pattern baldness.
97% of Hairloss is from androgenic alopecia, which is a genetic condition that life style has no bearing on

I started taking minoxidil and finasteride and got no results, then started taking vitamins and minerals along with the meds and my hair started growing back. I'm a vegetarian so it was probably a combination of both.

Your ferritin went up by taking iron supplements?
@@blankspaceforyou Yes, but my hemoglobin was normal to begin with.. so no typical anemia assessed.
I'm in the research sciences, and honestly, don't believe most doctors know how iron tests are supposed to be read.
Many people are deficient and don't know it since the standard tests test for anemia in the hemoglobin. And many will show High Iron and TIBC when they get a Full Iron Panel, unfortunately, only the ferritin counts with many types of anemia.

@@Nicole-kc1vx fair point.

I heard using minoxidil and stopping causes a worse situation than if you wouldn't have started it or went with another route. Any explaining on that?
I have to say when I was a young teenager and I had gone to a movie with a friend and her Father drove us and he was losing his hair and had a massive comb over and I don't know why but I was very embarrassed for him. I went home and asked my Father if he would do a favor for me. He looked at me seriously and asked what and I said if you start going bald would you just wear a hat if my friend's come over and he smiled and said Yes. I also remember that i was in the church as a child and it was completly fully crowded and somebody farted and it was a horrible smell and my eyes quickly noticed a balding guy in the crowd and i automatically suspected him and hated him for that. I wonder if this is a natural reaction of every child or not,

Well he said his patients do well for decades on fin and he prefers oral minox. Topical minox still enters your blood.
@ I know that it enters the bloodstream. I would prefer oral min for several reasons but it’s not available here in Germany.
Beta blockers can cause bad hair loss

4 years after its started, that sort of thing.
minoxidil + dutasteride + platelet rich plasma, that combo works for me!
If finasteride increases testosterone, then why can it have a side effect of decreased libido and erectile dysfunction??
I googled .and as far as i understood, its because it also increases female sex hormones
That only happens for 2% of people, most have no decrease in libido, and some even have an INCREASE in it
Because dht, a more potent form of testosterone, is decreased by fin. Some people dont tolerate this decrease well and so get side effects
Finasteride prevents testosterone to DHT conversion (DHT is the hormone that binds with male pattern sensitive hair follicles and cause miniaturization and eventually male patten baldness)
So, when we start Finasteride, suddenly testosterone is not converted to DHT which results in a sudden spike of testosterone in our body.
@@annipsy2185 In a few cases. The small Testosterone increase is unlikely to be converted to Estrogen for most men.

Yes chlorine is bad for hairs

Would zyn/nicotine be a significant contributing factor to hairloss?
ya I honestly think so. Been vaping heavy nic lately and I've noticed mad hair thinning.
i'm a woman who is losing hair can i use the shampoo & medicine
I have been using the feel confident Shampoo and conditioner. Really like them!

I was loosing significant hair everyday for at least about 4 years from age 19 to 24 , My dad is bald so everyone told me hair loss is genetic and there's no point worrying about it but thanks to my insecurities i didn't listen to them and i actually fixed the problem all by myself. Now for the past 3 years i have no hair fall, i am 27 now 😊 .
if i dont mind asking, what did you do to help prevent your hair fall?
@@IsaacMiller-l3v i tried a combination of lot of things , it would take minimum 300 words essay to explain , but just know that any topical remedy won't work you gotta fix it internally and work towards a holistic approach.

If finasteride increases testosterone, why would one of the most common side effects be erectile dysfunction?
same question
because the excess of testosterone can be converted into estrogen. If your estrogen levels are too high, it could result in ED or Gyno
GELATIN DO THE JOB✌️💪
What was the name of Gary's website again? I'm not sure he mentioned it.
lol it’s on his cap…
Can you make a similar video for women ? I saw finasteride is not for women and I can’t purchase your product as I’m not in the US. What I can do to prevent hair loss / thinning ? And to regrow them ?
I was prescribed finasteride and minoxidil. I didn’t take them because of the risks. I used procapil and Bondi boost products. It worked for me.
Hmmm... can't hair loss be caused by getting old?
Yes but because androgens increase by age and the effect becomes more apparent
First....it is never to late.... to change anything
Do you need to have a full stomach for saw palmetto even if you don’t take it as a pill? For example if you have it in a shampoo like yours?
For me personally, vitamins have had a massive impact on my hair growth... My hair is growing back after ten years of baldness.
Which vitamins you use dear?
Hi @scribeinfo1824 I'm taking vitamin D... firstly 600,000iu injections fir o e month (this is how I found out) then 50,000iu per day with k2-7 and 6mg boron... 3g vitamin C... 3,5000mcg methyl b12 with mtfhr dolate b9... benfotiamine b1 and acetly l carnatine 😊

Drinking alcohol not only depletes vitamins and minerals but inhibits the absorption of nutrients. If you are a heavy drinker and facing hair loss then consider quiting. Or could be genetic, nutrition, And smoking.😅
Why yes @@supr2102
I’ve watched some of these and I’m really glad it worked. My husband tried it all and had side effects and no new growth. I think it might have helped not getting worse but he was doing so many things, the needling and everything. Side effects were not worth it anymore. He got a transplant and it looks amazing. Wish it would’ve helped tho.
If my T levels are already very high, is it okay to take finasteride ?
Any good videos on eyebrow thickness?
Minoxidil can help with that
Derma rolling can help with that.
Apply topical minoxidil on them, it significantly increase my eyebrow thickness, i have to get them trimmed now.
How can I take appointment of u doctor???
I have really bad psoriasis on my scalp and noticed major hair loss in like a year if I get treatment for it will my hair grow back on its own ?
Finistride is terrible, side effects are really bad and can include depression which can last weeks or months after stopping taking the drug.
I would disagree about not needing blood work before and after.
Bloodwork allowed me to see that finasteride almost doubled my e2 and testosterone
Well if you needed blood work to know that would happen then you probably didn't research it well enough in the first place. Also, it didn't "double your testosterone". It prevented around 70% of your testosterone converting into DHT, around half of which will have stayed as testosterone and the rest will have converted into estrogen.
@ well smartass, Testosterone and e2 should only rise marginally and have no real effect at around 15%.
Mine increased massively
@ well yeah but mine went up almost 100%
I found something hairy lying on my porch and it took me a while to figure out that is was actually a turkey beard. I have some outdoor cats so apparently one of them had torn it off of a wild turkey. Have you ever heard of a cat doing this?
Can women take these vitamins
yes. and women experience hairloss. balding is totally natural
Everything except Finasteride and Dutasteride.
One very important question...
Where is this dude's eyebrow???
In my case it was just as simple as taking collagen frequently
Dutasteride 9 months and losing hair. I have stubborn seborrheic dermatitis and it's likely the cause of my continuous hair loss.
Forehead and Scalp not oily anymore though due to the decrease of 5a reductase type 3 if i remember correctly.
I just recently got hair transplant surgery in my home country. I was wondering, what kind of doctor/specialist should I look to get in touch with, to get these dosages of Minox/Fenisteride prescribed correctly to me and have a follow-up appointments with. Can you advise?
There is natural and patented product that promotes hair regrowth and overall health. More information by direct contact. Have a great day!
I've read where intense weightlifting can lead to hair loss, not sure if true since I only perform moderate weightlifting for maintenance and not anything intense like heavy Olympic weightlifting (squats, deadlifts, power cleans, etc)
me too. and those horrible skin fades...
I suspect Creatine supplementation to be a culprit too.
@@matureyoungmansounds like they’re bald rather than a skin fade lol

Is there any solutions for androgenetique alopecia ?
As a female, I tried saw palmetto supplements and it did not work for me at all. I am female so our hormones affect everything. At 47 I got my 1st hormone panel (labs) and am waiting on the results for answers. Update: got my 1st hormone panel results back and they are NORMAL for a woman in premenopause and my primary care refused to prescribe HRT, waiting to see a GYN. On meantime got my 1st estradiol cream.
Male hormones also affect everything... They're literally the reason why men lose so much hair
Can finisteride just stop working for you later down the line? Say, a couple years, or decade even?
Does DHT play a significant role in other ways? I know of its role in BPH and obviously hair loss. But depriving one of DHT for lets say 2 decades? would it cause any other side effects? musle mass loss or energy or memory problems?
I started taking minoxidil in May of this year and experienced the “dread shed” a month into it. Then in September I had great results. Hair seemed fuller and thicker. I had good coverage. But by mid October I experienced shedding again. Not sure if this is normal. If someone could shine some light I would appreciate it.
Is micro needling also necessary when taking oral minoxidil?
It will help, but not like 100% necessary
people use coffee with your shampoo, use it 2 times per week,
Have you heard of or used the vortex wand? Does anyone know if it works?
Hello, I am currently undergoing laser hair removal treatments to reduce body hair, and I am very interested in maintaining and enhancing these results. At the same time, I would like to use minoxidil to increase hair density on my scalp. Since laser hair removal primarily targets hairs in the active growth (anagen) phase - typically about 10-15% of body hair at any given time - I am curious about whether minoxidil, which promotes the anagen phase, might interact with these treatments.
Specifically:
What can you say about exosomes? How come it’s not a popular solution?
When I met the man I married, age 23, and I was 20, he had the beginning of male pattern baldness. I thought it was sexy 'cuz it's something only men have, those deep temples. He was worried that once he went bald, I wouldn't like him any more. I stayed with him for 18 years. By then he had half a head of hair, and it looked funny 'cuz he kept it shoulder length, but that's not why I left. It was the emotional abuse.

Otra cosa, el sol es arma de doble filo, yo les diria que no tomen sol y tomen vitamina D, pero bueno, si no toman vitamina D a diario 10 mil ui entonces mas vale que tomen sol.
