He is actually pretty handsome according to popular beauty standards. I agree that he did look better after making simple changes. I think another simple change that people neglect is dressing better. Also, as an esthetician, gua shua mainly helps with lymphatic drainage and muscle tension (it can be helpful if you have tmj). However, the lymphatic drainage depuff benefit is very temporary. You have to do gua shua everyday to see that benefit. People act as if you can change your bone structure with gua shua and thats ridiculous and impossible.
@@tattlevixen2581by reducing muscle tension, yes. Botox paralyzes muscles to avoid creasing that creates wrinkles, gua sha and "face yoga" relaxes and can have a similar effect, especially if used preventatively

His eye color looks blue vs brown, and his forehead isn't as wife bc of the way he brushes his hair, eyebrows are lighter and thinner and not the thick dark brown brows, he's in better shape and is using a camera light, maybe a light ring. Plus, his eyes and mouth look like they have a smile. Voila, he kept to his regimen and looks more content and relaxed.
Really interesting. What you said about confidence really hits home. When I was a teen (12/13), my mum told me that my nose was too big and needed to be done, she also criticised my teeth (they were crooked), after braces there was still a bit of overlap, so she told me not to smile. She then said my breasts were too large. As I grew older and had a LOT of male attention, I never trusted it. I still saw myself as a crooked teethed, wide nosed, big boobed monster. Looking back now I can see I was actually very, very attractive, and mum now says that she always thought so, but she was down. I've brought my daughter telling her how she beautiful she is and putting her own insecurities into perspective. To stop my breasts I even ended up with an eating disorder, so yes, confidence and esteem is paramount, as is gentle parenting.
It’s crazy how much damage a mother’s critiques has on our psyches. I’m still traumatized from the horrible things my mother said about myself. For example my mother would always tell me I looked Chinese and that I had Chinese eyes so growing up i hated my eyes with a passion. Today people tell me my best features are my eyes. Just one example but I have so many others lol
All the women in my family were like this. It was awful, and I’m still healing from it. But as an adult now, I genuinely feel bad for them too. I wish they could see how beautiful they’ve always been too
He didn't change at all beyond some water weight loss and changing the camera angle/expression. Ya'll regime just wastes time and money. @@topshelfdustin3060Sure thing. We should all just be dusty and chapped, the way God intended. 🙄 Nothing about this was fake. He didn't use makeup or fake tan. He did wear shoulder pads or a waist shaper. It was skincare, healthy eating and exercise. If you think that stuff is fake you should probably examine the average sedentary lifestyle eating ultra processed food, none of that is natural.
Dr Linkov, for someone who sells a product that is often most used to increase a persons superficial features, you are surprisingly deep, authentic and down to earth!
This is attention seeking behavior. He just wants everyone to say " You look great!" When someone says " I'm not fishing for compliments" They absolutely are.
Well, just for the sake of probabilities, my experience is this: I asked a couple of friends for their opinions on some positive personal traits of mine, not to fish for compliments, but to gauge how good or normal they are. I honestly didn't feel flattered at all since I already knew they were good; I just needed to understand how good. To give you a reason, I'm known for needing detailed explanations to understand things properly, so I usually require specific ratings or detailed feedback.
I hate it when people always say, a good diet cleans up your skin. I have had acne since I was twelve, and I am 41 now. No matter what type of diet I was on - I ate very healthy at times (and I have never been overweight) - it didn't change a thing.
This is true. My friend is 53 and she has had bad acne since being a teenager. She is very healthy and eats a very healthy diet. She has used so many cosmetics, treatments and face creams but none have worked. The only thing that helps clear her skin is taking low dose antibiotics, but this regime comes with its own set of problems.
in general a cleaner diet will not cause acne but there are more things going on, like hormones, inflammation etc. some people eat trash and still have clear skin.
Have you spoken to your doctor about possibly having hormonal acne? I had similar issues but I was placed on a birth control for PMDD and my acne disappeared along with my PMDD symptoms. I hope thats the cause and that this is helpful!
id love to hear you talk about female hair loss, its something ive started struggling with and even though im a science student i find it hard to differentiate the truth from the fake science that's out there on the topic
I know that some women actually do their hair too tight and traction alopecia can cause so much hair loss, also of course when women end up in menopause it is very often a lack of estrogen that causes hair to become brittle and damaged or fall out!
You likely already know to get a blood panel to check your thyroid but thought I’d mention it. Also taking biotin and using nioxin shampoo can make a difference for some. There’s also a lot of proven results & positives to using propecia it def works. Downside is if you stop taking it the new growth can fall out so it has to be taken indefinitely. Sucks for girls since we typically can’t “take it to the slab” and shave it like guys.
Yep I have hereditary sitting here or grandmother warned us about it. And we had fine here to begin with. I don't fret about it anymore I just love to wig on my head. I actually look better with the wig because my hair was so fine I couldn't really style it and I couldn't wear bangs and I like bangs because I have lines in my forehead.
“Maybe they need to seek a different type of specialist.” 😂 that’s a very nice way of saying, “you need a therapist babe”… honestly, these social media filters have messed people up.
docs absolutely right about the interconnectedness between inner beauty and outer beauty. when I dated a guy who hardly complimented me and stared at other girls when we went out, I reached a point where i couldn’t look at other girls if they were pretty. I rigorously worked on my insecurity. Naturally, overtime I wanted to take care of myself. I was feeling better and looking better. I get a lot of attention though that still makes me feel like i don’t deserve it - which means more work needs doing. But hey at least I am on step 1 and not step 0.
In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
“Some people are ah firm believers in that” was the absolute best line had me cry laughing. Honestly I do occasionally use a roller in the morning when my face is puffy but it doesn’t do anything long term.

Can you talk more about the effects of the diets on the skin? What foods specifically have what effect? What kind of diet would you recommend for people with different lifestyles?
It is really dependent on person. For example my friend had always bad acne. Than she went to diet specialist, they made her a lot of tests and she found out her acne was caused by slight allergies on certain foods like nuts and pineapple.

Reminds me of how people gamed a fitness challenge that my gym held. Participants were ranked by most body fat percentage lost over the course of the challenge. Then the top few that reduced body fat the most were voted on by before and after transformation to determine the grand winners. The winners were people that were obviously very fit just before the challenge. They still had very big biceps and other muscles, they just looked like they bulked up on fat and water weight. They'd take a before picture with bad lighting, a frowny face and accentuate the pot belly with a skulking posture. Then at challenge end they'd take the after picture with nice lighting, nice clothes, smiles and nice posture. Easier transformation and victory for them.
Basically he dropped some water weight, got a bit of a tan and grew his hair out... along with better lighting and more confident posing also he was trying to look his worst in the before pictures. I used to be a personal trainer i know these tricks iv done before and after pictures in the same day! Its all just a marketing thing
I love this channel. The nice thing about “30 days” is it is not a life time. Maybe 30 days could show a person “ you can do it.” Then the person could make permanent life style changes. Also, I have found that rinsing my hair instead of always washing it works well. Shampoo all the time is too drying even the best stuff out there. I color my hair. Love the show. Thanks.
One thing about the under eyes. Both my sibling and I had purple under eyes since childhood. I went to a holistic doctor and she said that since we have MTHFR, our livers don't clean out toxins from the body as well. She recommended that I use glutathione cream and it deep help with the purple under eye issue.

I hope everything is alright with your health Dr. Gary. I notice your eye twitching throughout this video. Please take care of yourself& sending you love from Pittsburgh PA.
The biggest difference is him not making a sad face lol. We are truly in a body dysmorphia phase of society, it is nuts what these people are considering "average" looking and what they are considering "attractive." "See how I don't look like a human being anymore? Isn't that hot?"
As someone who is really pale on purpose, I love pale complexions. If someone is born naturally tanned or dark, that's beautiful, and they are looking to have the extra melanin protection. But when someone who is pale tries to look tanned, it usually damages the skin long term. I prefer when people take good care of their natural skin color and complexion, that's what I usually find most attractive.
Does finasteride help to bring back lost hair? I've read a lot about minoxidil, and most people say that it's permanent only for the beard. For hair, they say that if you stop using minoxidil, you're going to lose even more hair than before :(
Finasteride does bring hair back, it doesn’t tend to be as significant as minoxidil but if you compare pictures from before and after a year you’ll see clear improvements
@@StylinProfilin3889 I’m not saying it doesn’t but it’s usually not that much, there are hyper responders though. I’ve been on fin for a year and only seen marginal improvement, mainly due to improved density.
I really appreciate your insight on how much your attitude and self care can influence how you look and how people respond to you. This is especially refreshing coming from a plastic surgeon. On the other hand, your comments on weight loss and weight management reveal that you have not explored this topic fully. From a molecular standpoint, it is simple: calories in; calories out. In real life though, it is simple for some folks, yet EXTREMELY complex for others. Since your work focuses a lot on physical appearance, I would encourage you to do some more digging on the challenges that people in larger bodies face, when it comes to long term weight loss. Spoiler: It's not just about discipline.
Thank you for this post. I take a med that slows down my metabolism so I gain weight very easily. It's hard to stay positive when so many just don't understand and I'm sick to death of hearing the "calories in, calories out" rhetoric. If it was that simple I'd still be skinny.

Amazing! In 1 month that's a lot! It demonstrates how taking care of yourself makes you feel better and "look better" and that would be very useful in cases of people who think that the only solution is plastic surgery
The first thing that Dr Gary said reminded me of this- "A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” The Twits
His body was already in great condition , which is most of the battle won and would make the other bits of self-care far easier to do. I think his haircut isn't the best one for him, he might want to try a shorter and neater one and maximise his body and face structure.

the's what I was thinking! he's a bored rich kid who went on a diet and washed his face. weight loss and avoiding that haircut (the one where a guy looks like he let his mom shave his head on the porch and it's grown out a little, hence making them look like 12 year olds...you know, the one this guy had the entire video) makes a huge difference. But I'm glad these dumb dumbs are falling for what women have been falling for for so long. Give me your money, and I'll give you this snake oil...
Hahaha
Can gua sha help with minimising wrinkles/fine lines or prevention??
@@tattlevixen2581by reducing muscle tension, yes. Botox paralyzes muscles to avoid creasing that creates wrinkles, gua sha and "face yoga" relaxes and can have a similar effect, especially if used preventatively

Being exposed to the sun will ruin his looks long term.
lol...this is a well known fitness influencer who's been open about his use of PED's. He's not just above average or athletic, but he has a body that most men would need to spend 15 years (dedicating HOURS every day) to get 80% as good of naturally.
It's just staggering that people think this isn't an unreal looking guy, it just shows how screwed up people are from social media and our own memory bias.

The only thing that helps clear her skin is taking low dose antibiotics, but this regime comes with its own set of problems.
in general a cleaner diet will not cause acne but there are more things going on, like hormones, inflammation etc. some people eat trash and still have clear skin.

id love to hear you talk about female hair loss, its something ive started struggling with and even though im a science student i find it hard to differentiate the truth from the fake science that's out there on the topic
Yes !!! We need this topic discussed 🆘
I actually look better with the wig because my hair was so fine I couldn't really style it and I couldn't wear bangs and I like bangs because I have lines in my forehead.

docs absolutely right about the interconnectedness between inner beauty and outer beauty. when I dated a guy who hardly complimented me and stared at other girls when we went out, I reached a point where i couldn’t look at other girls if they were pretty.

Dr. Gary, what's going on with your left eye? It seems to be twitching on its own.
"See how I don't look like a human being anymore? Isn't that hot?"
As someone who is really pale on purpose, I love pale complexions. If someone is born naturally tanned or dark, that's beautiful, and they are looking to have the extra melanin protection. But when someone who is pale tries to look tanned, it usually damages the skin long term. I prefer when people take good care of their natural skin color and complexion, that's what I usually find most attractive.

The first thing that Dr Gary said reminded me of this-
"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
The Twits
His body was already in great condition , which is most of the battle won and would make the other bits of self-care far easier to do. I think his haircut isn't the best one for him, he might want to try a shorter and neater one and maximise his body and face structure.
