Plastic surgery is not making people look better, they end up looking like freaks who are an age that doesn't actually exist. Paraphrasing, but something like that
The issue here is that she already looked at least 10-15 years older than her actual age, right from the 80s. Smoking? Drugs? Who knows. But I was shocked at the 35yo photo because she looked late 40s. If I looked that much older than my age so early I'd be rushing for interventions and panicking too.
I was shocked by how pretty she looked at 25 before the plastic surgery f'd her face up. No filters on her face like today. Today people look younger in photos but it's all fake.
The makeup can play a part in the esthetics of a persons look making them look as if they have had work done good or bad so it has to be taken in as well.
I think she is probably trying to balance out the lip issues with that. I always wondered why she didn't do anything to fix the botched-looking lip filler but now I learned that if it is silicone not much can be done...makes a lot of sense.
Wow, the side by side at 17'57" says it all. We are all fooled by retouched social media photos that we've changed our aging standards based on artificial images.
What gets me is how someone can possibly look at that edited photo and think "yeah, that totally looks like me, I'm going to post this and no one's gonna notice"
@@liv97497 But you'd be surprised that people don't even check. The retouched photo has done so many rounds, and people bite right into it without questioning it (actually, only immediately questioning what kind of procedures would get them this result)
She is the same age as me. But to me she looks incredibly old with the exception of the red carpet photo. I would love to see what she would have looked like with nothing done. You are very gracious in your analysis and that speaks to your character and objectivity. Love your analysis always.
2011 age 56' s photo (minute 12:38) is the only one where a make up artist have give her decent flattering brows. Sometimes having a lot of money ≠ hiring the best professionals.
I think her makeup really doesn’t help. The inner corners of the eye should be brighter, rather than taking the dark kohl all the way across - this makes her eyes look closer together. Also the lip gloss looks really unpleasant. I love to see her with really good makeup.
Her face has always rather puzzled me, because she has always looked older than her age to begin with, but while her plastic surgeries have always been quite apparent, none have really done anything to help, but have, rather, made her appear ever more a caricature of herself. I think that initially she was probably quite pretty, but, for whatever reason, just really un-photogenic. And, it seems to me, that if she had only concentrated on reducing her overbite rather than manipulating the outer features, her whole face would have aged quite naturally and tied together more. The overbite seems to really be the one thing that kept pushing her face into a duck-lip parody once she started trying to fix it.
One grandmother was Auburn haired and very fair. She became highly wrinkled and yet she was still fabulous. Men always noticed her . She died at 93. My paternal grandmother was of French heritage. She died at 102 and still looked 50. Natural is still the best. ❤
While that may be true if she had stopped at 30 and started lathering on Retin A for 40 years she would not be where she is at now. I guess trying to keep up with the trends every year should not apply to your face (maybe stick with shoes and clothes). Due to the business she could not afford to ignore fashion (but).
If no one ever got plastic surgeries, and we all just accepted and respected our natural faces, imagine how much happier we'd all be? We could put every child through college, and protect animals from cruelty and extinction.
Just remember that most of these are done for male attention or insecurities. Trends have always been based on our misogynistic society of male preference which is disturbing
That first photo was crazy retouched. And the hair color on that one is more flattering! All this work, and no one ever told her that platinum hair color is totally wrong for her? It's her trademark shade, and iconic for her, but it's terrible against her warm skin tones. The retouching is so severe, though. She looks 35. Nonsense.
She was good looking younger. With all these surgeries she became awful, really. Now, if this picture is true, she look much better! She found the right surgeon to fix her face. She change also the way she put her makeup on. It's lighter now on the eyes. Before, it was ugly also and so dark on the eyes.... Far better now finally. So sad to see that, she seems so nice with everybody she had the budget and wanted to be beautiful... Hope it's going to better for the rest of her life. ❤
She always looked scary to me, had no idea that she looked a lot more “normal” when she was much younger, though she’s always looked much, much older than her actual age.
I noticed the minor hump in her nose was removed sooner than your analysis. However the tip of her nose seemed to have fallen and flattened and so the hump removal was not a positive for her. She needed tip work. Her nose looked like it was falling and flattening and you couldn't even see her nostrils. Someone f'd her nose up.
Over the years, it’s been previously agreed that her cocaine usage led to that noticeable collapse. Unfortunately, that type of damage can be very difficult to remediate.
Personally I think she was always overly tanned. She tried to keep her shape but has no muscle tone, and I am shocked that a guru of the fashion business like her had that heavy eyes make up. She is a character look that she created for herself. After the butchering treatments she kept looking worse and worse. I would not define her a beauty however in the overall she is a “type”.
That last photo is obviously retouched, but the untouched version does show her looking better than in previous years. To me, the biggest difference is that her eye makeup is less heavy/severe and her hair and brows are a warmer tone of blonde that doesn't wash her out. Just better styling. I know she has struggled with drug addiction at times in her life, and I think that may have done much to age her (I'm sorry, she does not look younger than her years), in addition to grief and stress.
From all accounts, a beautiful, kind, benevolent, and classy woman. Of course her drastic outer appearance over time, especially as she is a wealthy and well connected person who leads in the world of fashion and appearance, is a curiosity. I'm so happy for her in her new glowing look. Was very nice and interesting to see beautiful pictures of her throughout the years and it's al ways great to hear doc's explanation of how we naturally age and how people can enhance their looks as they mature.
I simply don't understand how she has that much money but can't get a decent makeup artist???? There are women who use dollar store makeup who look flawless. 🤷
She aged faster than her age because of the sun. This very tanned skin which was fashionable at the time comes from too much sun, the skin does not recover from this, no matter the surgeries afterwards. Then her favorite look with platinum hair and very black eye makeup didn't help.
Always enjoy your point of view regarding different plastic surgeries. I am in my late 60s, never had any surgery, but I have inherited great genes from my mom. Lots of water and good skin care is my secret.
She carries herself with confidence abd self respect! Especially how she deals with people in business and people as a whole! She's keeping the brand alive! A good women beyond this tho!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Imo, a lot of women age prematurely due to heavy smoking. Paulina Porizkova complains non-stop about men not chasing her around the way they did when she was a young model and that it's a sign of ageism. However, she was a smoker for decades. Now that she is almost 60, it's very apparent. Donatella looks like she has also been a smoker at some point in her life. In the past, all the beautiful women such as Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot and many others were also heavy smokers and claimed it was how they stayed thin. They smoked instead of eating.
Yes, some women were still doing that to avoid snacking or eating to much. Hopefully, more ppl are avoiding the heavy smoking. I have friends & family that developed cancer, emphysema & COPD besides aging.
@gnostic268 Those women did not age prematurely, they just aged. Nowadays, if you don't have work done and photoshop your pics, you look "prematurely aged." Who is your standard for 50s and 60s? JLo? Christie Brinkley?
"As we get older and lose integrity in our tissues...." Dr. Gary just summarized the horror show of growing old in that one comment. Aging is definitely not for wimps and I'm 49 but it's so hard and crazy how much pain and stress the human body undergoes in its lifetime. Bless us all - and God bless Donatella who lost her beloved brother in such a brutally tragic way. That alone would have messed up my face - along with my mind! My own sweet sister ended her life in 2019 and I found her dead - my face has gotten much uglier since that time. Grief, pain, stress, tragedy, and sorrow can take a handsome/pretty face and destroy it like you wouldn't believe. An ugly face is not always an indication of an ugly soul. Sometimes quite the opposite! To all my fellow uglies - hang in there, the world still needs you!~❤~
@@gennywaffleI know a lot of women who are still NATURALLY attractive into their 60s and 70s. It's not impossible as long as you don't get into the extreme surgery like DV
The thick black eye makeup in her later years made her look awful. You're right Gary, about the lighting making her look great in the left photo and bad in the right photo.
I agree. It is much too harsh. I also think her hair color washes her out. She would appear more youthful if she went a bit darker and added highlights.
I'm pretty sure the smoother skinned recent picture is actually just AI. It's shocking how quickly her face changed after 35 (I hope she never sees this). From 25 to 35 it looks like a natural aging progression, but then it increased rapidly and she became less and less recognizable. I don't know if it was just because of the surgery or if she's also suffering from a health condition. I hope she's living her best life! 💖
ya never know with people that are so high up in society. All us regular people know what we see, which is so important with these people. Good to know she is also kind.
We forget probably that she possibly had an eating disorder and substance problem in her younger years, that removed all subcutaneous fats she’d have left. And so, her looking the way she does now, thumbs UP 👍 from me!!!
Pictures can be very deceiving (because most are edited to perfection) and what some of these people look like in person, would probably be very shocking.
I commented that earlier,,, 1 good picture. She has the cash to do with as she pleases, so she must be happy with her looks, and who am I to say anything about it.... sighs.
Of the latest photos shown the 2nd or the last is more realistic. Saw a video of her at an event. She looked more like that last photo that is not touched up with soft lighting, etc. The newer hairstyle, less dark makeup around her eyes and better makeup overall has really helped her look. She definitely looks 60+.
Of all the work she's had done, the fact that she didn't have proper dental and orthodontist work is crazy to me. European celebrities don't seem to pay as much attention to their teeth as Americans I guess.
Yes, yes, yes!. Although it's so obvious what KG has done, we can just do the analysis ourselves. Feel sorry for Greece though😭 (she went from grease to Greece, get it?)
I remember doctors offering something besides silicone injections in the lips and I tried it once and all it did was create bumps on my lips and one above my lip. Drove me crazy feeling these hard lumps. I hated it and took forever to dissappear. About a year or so if I remember correctly. Especially the lump outside my lip line above my lips Gross I don't recall wtf it was but it wasn't silicone.

She was uniquely beautiful before, then all the procedures and maybe her lifestyle turned her into a middle aged mob wife well before her time. She looks great in the latest pictures
40 years ago one of my classmates have the same features as Donnatella, her teeth were big with strong upper gum/ bone. The following year she looks so beautiful and I could not believe how beautiful she looks. She explained to me when I asked her what she did different? Well she said they pulled all her upper teeth and shaved the excess bone and her upper gum. She surely looks so beautiful!
I don’t know her character so don’t really want to be judgy. But what stands out to me is how much of a difference hairstyle, hair color and overall makeup/color might have. Wonder why she never experimented with those less permanent changes?
I agree. For decades, she wore the same hairstyle, close to the face, no volume, platinum blonde; it didn't do her any favors. Her eyebrows were too light and too thin and her eye makeup was too heavy.
Donatello’s chin was originally very recessed/small in relation to the rest of her face, exactly like Ivanka Trump’s, who had a chin implant in her teens. This improved Ivanka’s appearance more than any procedure and it’s a shame Donatella wasn’t given the same advice. In fact, the two women originally looked very similar.
More often, the combination of puberty and appropriate dentistry are able to fix that particular chin issue. I have a family member who’s chin was also small/recessed as a child, but after puberty set in and throughout adolescence, the chin began to change as her entire jaw (bone, tissues, teeth) matured with continued bone growth and positional changes due to the emergence of her wisdom teeth and orthodontic braces. Also, a middle school friend who had braces for 2-3 years, wore specialized “head gear” at bedtime, specifically for her recessed lower jaw, which completely moved her bone forward, eventually revealing a normal chin. Both of those women’s chins remain normal to this day. 😁 Are you certain of Ivanka’s chin implant in her teens when such a common issue is usually addressed with orthodontics? Any quality orthodontist, who the Trumps could obviously afford, should’ve steered them away from a chin implant in her evolving teens, until full orthodontic work *and* adolescence were complete. Otherwise, implant removal would’ve likely become necessary at some point. Despite familial wealth, it appears that Donatella’s teeth were never properly addressed, as her suboptimal bite and tooth positioning are noticeable in some photos. Even with resources, some kids still don’t receive the proper, early treatment needed to avoid future surgical/cosmetic intervention after their bone growth is complete. Nowadays, we see adult celebrities getting full veneers and jaw/chin implants when *perhaps* their parents or/or dentists failed them in their youth. 🤷🏻♀️ Once our entire jaw structures and teeth are in a fully matured position, they’re generally no longer as easily corrected without some combination of dental surgery for structural changes-the lower jaw bone is usually broken to accommodate lengthening hardware-chin and dental implants, adult braces, and possible veneer work. 😬

@thaliahalThe two side-by-side pictures at the end look like two totally different people. Both pix taken on the same day!!
She aged very early on in her life. I don't know if it was her lifestyle or genetics, but I feel for her.
She was a sun worshipper. She also did a lot of drugs.
Lifestyle, her brother didn't have that problem
Cocaiiiiiiine
I agree 😑🧐
Agreed. That picture at 29 was rough
0:16 "But has plastic surgery played a role in Donatella's changing appearance?". Does the Pope pray?
Exactly!
Oh my God, she was so pretty when young!
When people say things like she looked way older, when she was young, is something I don't get. I think she looked beautiful in her younger days.
That retouched photo was unbelievable
Right? And no one here seems to believe or even notice that the photo was retouched… people are SO gullible.
Literally!
@lars😂😂
That photo had more work done than Donatella!
@@larskars5835 whatever gets him the clicks I guess
She would look a lot better with less eye makeup.
It’s the heavy darker makeup, the light make looks better on her, it’s brighter and lifting on her.
this is not a video about judging someone's makeup, it's about the surgery part...
The makeup can play a part in the esthetics of a persons look making them look as if they have had work done good or bad so it has to be taken in as well.
@@crashley47 the section says, “Comments” not, “Comments must exclusively pertain to video title content.”
Yeah, it looked like an AI re-creation. Didn't look like her at all
What gets me is how someone can possibly look at that edited photo and think "yeah, that totally looks like me, I'm going to post this and no one's gonna notice"
@@liv97497 But you'd be surprised that people don't even check. The retouched photo has done so many rounds, and people bite right into it without questioning it (actually, only immediately questioning what kind of procedures would get them this result)
@@liv97497 delusion is a very strong coping mechanism and i say it with peace and love
You always treat this series with a lot of respect for the person discussed. IMHO that's rare and amazing!
She is the same age as me. But to me she looks incredibly old with the exception of the red carpet photo. I would love to see what she would have looked like with nothing done. You are very gracious in your analysis and that speaks to your character and objectivity. Love your analysis always.
She would have looked fine (ie. better) without any work. That said, Italians (especially the previous generations) do love the sun....
I never knew she looked like that in the 80s 😮
Me either! 😮
I don't actually think it's correctly dated here, I don't think it's from the early 1980s, more like early 90s.
My thoughts too. She was lovely.
I think you are right - changing up the make up and hair has also really influenced a different ‘look’ recently
See got way too much sun exposure in her younger life 😮
Too many cigarettes, too many drug.
While that may be true if she had stopped at 30 and started lathering on Retin A for 40 years she would not be where she is at now. I guess trying to keep up with the trends every year should not apply to your face (maybe stick with shoes and clothes). Due to the business she could not afford to ignore fashion (but).
Europeans in general love to toast at high summer sun
Agree. The sun damage adds 20 yrs
@@Ignatius1972not anymore, sunscreen is on trend now 😁
If no one ever got plastic surgeries, and we all just accepted and respected our natural faces, imagine how much happier we'd all be? We could put every child through college, and protect animals from cruelty and extinction.
Just remember that most of these are done for male attention or insecurities. Trends have always been based on our misogynistic society of male preference which is disturbing
Sun, alcohol, stress ,smoking, and drugs are beauty's number 1 enemy
Definitely. Alcohol and sun damage adds 20 years to any woman's complexion.
And the best beauty "product" is something that's completely FREE . Good old WATER .
and to men?
omg she went full mickey rourke!
Lol
I wonder, if she was man before??🤔
U mean Mickey Rourkey went for the versace look.
Donatella looked 20 years older, even in her younger years. Maybe she was aware of her older look.
I don't see that. I think she looked beautiful when she was young.
Nonsense.
Bleached hair is not flattering. A little extra weight looks better when we're older
It's Photoshop 🤷🏼♀️
She always looked scary to me, had no idea that she looked a lot more “normal” when she was much younger, though she’s always looked much, much older than her actual age.
Yeah she really looked normal when she was younger.
Or there was a white powder involved which damaged the inner cartilage causing a collapse of the nose (?)
@@grnddesignbingo!
I don't know that she looks any BETTER, but she looks DIFFERENT.
She was beautiful. People, DO NOT MESS WITH YOUR FACE!!!
I’m sure a Photoshopped picture of Janice from the Muppets would look just as good.
omg. she DOES look like Janice! especially when she wears bangs
I laughed out loud and startled my dogs. 😂
She also had quite substantial dental reconstruction fairly early on. That money would have been better spent in orthodonture.
My thoughts exactly. Good orthodontia early on would have probably saved her from resorting to many of her later procedures.
Hee fake teeth look horrible
I wondered about her teeth
Yes, her maxilla is much larger than her lower jaw. Ortho treatment would have improved her quality of life as well as aesthetics.
1:13 She looks ROUGH *AS HELL* for a 26 year old
There was nothing wrong with her face. She just needed dark hair and thick dark brows. That was what was off about the face.
10 minutes 50 seconds... her makeup artist needs to be fired. Who purposefully makes themselves look like that. Dear god 😢
I simply don't understand how she has that much money but can't get a decent makeup artist???? There are women who use dollar store makeup who look flawless. 🤷
I think she messed up completely.
Yes totally agree! Same here and can relate. 😊
Great comment!!! Thank you!
Yes, some women were still doing that to avoid snacking or eating to much. Hopefully, more ppl are avoiding the heavy smoking. I have friends & family that developed cancer, emphysema & COPD besides aging.
I'll take looking like Paulina at 60 ❤
@gnostic268 Those women did not age prematurely, they just aged. Nowadays, if you don't have work done and photoshop your pics, you look "prematurely aged." Who is your standard for 50s and 60s? JLo? Christie Brinkley?
Paulina looks still absolutly beautiful. Her complaining about men not chasing her as they used to is silly though.
She's always looked 20 years older than she really is and has looked like a freak show for about 30 years. Sad.
Your voice is so soothing ... I can listen to whatever you say and relax.
Same‼️💯
"As we get older and lose integrity in our tissues...." Dr.
To all my fellow uglies - hang in there, the world still needs you!~❤~
It’s funny that she was getting all the lip and face surgery but not her nose, she was actually quite attractive when she was young.
I thought the same. I mean why not a nose job too??? Ijs 🤷
And her teeth 😂
She looked so natural behind that mask. Donatella was very beautiful natural. Sincerely. Even with all those little defects you are pointing.
Come on doc, youthful for 69???
The only thing youthful at 69 is the long full hair
Yeah, pretty ridiculous to say that.
I think he's just being nice
Sponsored by Donatella Versace
Im impressed she has mostly kept her nose in tact. She couldve done a lot of work to match beauty standards but didnt.
she had a coke problem... it's weird how he didn't mention that her nose seems to have collapsed after the 90s
I may not be conventionally attractive, but I sleep in peace knowing I won't look like THAT at 70. Yikes.
Unconventional attractive women are usually the most beautiful
Let us compare when you hit that age.
@@gennywaffle It takes a lot of work and $$ to look at awful as Ms. Versace
@@gennywaffleI know a lot of women who are still NATURALLY attractive into their 60s and 70s. It's not impossible as long as you don't get into the extreme surgery like DV
Let's not. Life has enough stress. No need to get dysmorphic as well lol
She looks so much better now.
I think she also got a rhinoplasty with some cartilage graft , she had her nose completely collapsed on her face
Cococococcaiiiiiiiiine
I’d like to just point out… eyebrows are a hell of a thing lol, especially when you have a more prominent lower face like she does.
I think her original face was far prettier than with changes
Certainly, but she was aging out of that pretty early.
The thick black eye makeup in her later years made her look awful.
You're right Gary, about the lighting making her look great in the left photo and bad in the right photo.
I agree. It is much too harsh. I also think her hair color washes her out. She would appear more youthful if she went a bit darker and added highlights.
It's VER CHA CHE 😂😂 she corrects us Americans all the time might be time to acutally say her last name correctly lol😂
plastic surgery disaster
How can we forget something that we didn't KNOW??? You said "probably had". You're assuming
Pictures can be very deceiving (because most are edited to perfection) and what some of these people look like in person, would probably be very shocking.
0:40 omggggggg she was such a stunning natural beauty!!!
That was just a good photo
I commented that earlier,,, 1 good picture. She has the cash to do with as she pleases, so she must be happy with her looks, and who am I to say anything about it.... sighs.
Of the latest photos shown the 2nd or the last is more realistic. Saw a video of her at an event. She looked more like that last photo that is not touched up with soft lighting, etc. The newer hairstyle, less dark makeup around her eyes and better makeup overall has really helped her look. She definitely looks 60+.
I agree. Well-stated. 👍
At age 35, she looked exactly like Val Kilmer
Of all the work she's had done, the fact that she didn't have proper dental and orthodontist work is crazy to me. European celebrities don't seem to pay as much attention to their teeth as Americans I guess.
Her 55 was one of the toughest I've seen 😢
Whatever she had done, she looks 1000000% better. Let her be happy.
It's such a shame when women go too far with plastic surgery and they end up looking like a caricature of themselves.
Good for her❤as long as she is happy, whatever works her! Very good and respectful video Dr. 😊 Thanks.
Wow you’re good Doc, Can you do Kimberly Guilfoyle?
doc gary's lips ,lol
Yes, yes, yes!. Although it's so obvious what KG has done, we can just do the analysis ourselves. Feel sorry for Greece though😭 (she went from grease to Greece, get it?)

Anyone can call me ugly and old. I feel great after watching this. I have never had plastic surgery.
I LIKE "ENVOGE" !!! That's FRENCH FOR IN STYLE YALL ... WHEN IM READY TO HAVE MY ENVOGE DONE, IM COMING TO SEE DR. GARY ❣️❣️❣️BTW HER NEW FACE LOOKS GREAT... Right???
She was uniquely beautiful before, then all the procedures and maybe her lifestyle turned her into a middle aged mob wife well before her time. She looks great in the latest pictures
40 years ago one of my classmates have the same features as Donnatella, her teeth were big with strong upper gum/ bone. The following year she looks so beautiful and I could not believe how beautiful she looks. She explained to me when I asked her what she did different? Well she said they pulled all her upper teeth and shaved the excess bone and her upper gum. She surely looks so beautiful!
I cannot imagine how painful that was
Her "iconic" look is a Kermit The Frog
I shouldn't be laughing 🤣
Wow - she looks amazing for being in her late 60's! Way to go @donatellaversace
Are you kidding me? She looks youthful at 69? She looks 90.
17:30 "She still looks very youthful for 69" - ?!
18:03 "I think that Donatella still looks very beautiful" - ?!
WHAT?!
Dr., have you ever considered going into politics?
Donatello’s chin was originally very recessed/small in relation to the rest of her face, exactly like Ivanka Trump’s, who had a chin implant in her teens. This improved Ivanka’s appearance more than any procedure and it’s a shame Donatella wasn’t given the same advice. In fact, the two women originally looked very similar.
Donatello?
@@Margaret-t9yI know, I have second hand embarrassment.
Are you certain of Ivanka’s chin implant in her teens when such a common issue is usually addressed with orthodontics?
Once our entire jaw structures and teeth are in a fully matured position, they’re generally no longer as easily corrected without some combination of dental surgery for structural changes-the lower jaw bone is usually broken to accommodate lengthening hardware-chin and dental implants, adult braces, and possible veneer work. 😬
Man she f'ed up her face. Its so sad when women who look fine before, go under the knife and ruin their face.
Donatella in 1989 looks like she could be separated at birth from Val Kilmer. Uncanny.
2:18 Female version of Val Kilmer
😂😂😂😂yessss exactly what I was thinking!
Love your content Gary, can you cover Denzel Washington in one of your upcoming videos? I noticed something strange going on with his neck in Gladiator 2
Her hairline looks lower in the final pictures from the Devil wears Prada premiere. Could she be wearing a hairpiece or can it be natural?

?? IDK 🤷♀️
That's a wig. I can see it lifting, and the back of the part is funky. Not a bad wig, but not a millionaire's wig.
Plastic surgery should only be obvious when comparing it to the before, but not by just looking at the person in question.
