Hi Graham, yes it’s a banker of a spot so out of the way, and a complete marsh coming out after the heavy rain, so think it will always be tranquil ! Cheers till our next one
What a lovely looking evening for a camp Adrian, that place looks so peaceful mate..a great tarp set up as always mate👌, good to see there wasn’t too many midge, another wet misty morning for you 🙁, taking the bike in looked like a good idea, atb Mick 👍
Hi Mick, yes this is probably the most tranquil spot around here, it’s so out of the way, and no tent pitches anywhere, Thinking the bike is the way forward for the college valley if going all the way, Cheers Adrian
What a beaut spot, can’t beat solitude on a BH weekend. Absolutely cracking set up as always, love it. Nice to see the bike out. Great viewing. Atb, Dave
Amazing camp Adrian, stunning location, wow, 💯 agree on the tarp and bivvy ,and meths burners are my go too, silent, efficient, cheap fuel and love watching the flame, and as you say, no need to rush ,when your out in nature, soaking in the atmosphere, fresh air, totally chilled out, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Hi and thanks for watching, it truly is a tranquil spot, so far out and hard to get to, magic, a place to chill and gather your thoughts, so happy with the hooped bivy, best thing ever, I may look at a zip on the army one, but it would loose some waterproofness ? Not the end of the world as I use a tarp Cheers Adrian
@northumberlandmountainhopper do a degree on the zip, so much easier to get jn and out of though, and as you say, paired with a tarp ,I've had no issues, trouble is ,it gets hard choosing which setup to use then lol..
Yes agree with the tarp, as for choosing, Windy or wet Hooped every time; Milder nights Army with or without zip, Guaranteed dry summer one nighters the Alpkit bivy Cheers
Hi Adrian, what a great tranquil spot. When you think how busy places get on a Bank holiday and you have all that peace and quiet to yourself. Fantastic mate.
Hi Phil, thanks for watching, yes I sought this spot out as it’s so far out of the way and with boggy approach routes, so I guessed I would have peace and quiet, See you soon cheers
Hi there Adrian, I’m loving your channel, great videos and I’m not far from you and your camp area. Well you’ve got yourself a new subscriber, good luck 👍 from a fellow TH-camr
I LOVE RAIN. Keep it up sir i really like your channel and your setups I just bought a Geertop plume ii, im looking to camp for first time (kinda scared to be honest) your vids are helping me a lot.
Nice one Adrian it's a hard slog up there on a bike my old camp wasn't too far from were you left your bike you were lucky to not have a visit from the midges atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi Jimmy, yes it’s a slog but it keeps it quiet ! I remember where the camp was , shame it was found, hardly a midge in site !! Magic Speak soon Adrian
Hi and thanks for watching, it’s a secluded hard to get too location with boggy approach routes, I have done a few here as I can guarantee a peaceful camp Cheers
Hi Dave, just a few gnats not really any midge, I was extreme by the water but it was either breezy or raining I do fancy some bike camps so may look into it Cheers Adrian
Lovely peaceful camp, Adrian. You were lucky there were no midges or people for that matter. I'm desperate to get back out myself, but I've had pneumonia for the last 2 weeks, and everything's come to a halt. My boys also got pneumonia and he's been in hospital for 5 days. He's out now though thank goodness.
Hi Gez, wow glad you and your boyo,s are on the mend, Yes it’s a peaceful spot never ever seen or met anyone around there, it’s a few miles out and the approach is really boggy, I love it , and the midge did not show !!! Cheers Adrian
What a beautiful, peaceful spot. Do you mind me asking what water filter you are using. I'm looking for one with a squeeze bag. As ever, thanks for sharing your trip
Hi and thanks for watching, it is a peaceful spot, well out of the way, never bumped into anyone up there. The filter is the Sawyer squeeze I have used it for a couple of years on and off and never been ill, you just have to keep it away from frost. Cheers
Just finished making a backpacking bike myself, made the front rack from M8 studding and Euro clamps as all the parts are so cheap for three metres. Around £3 to£4. Come to the conclusion that the public just walk past you if you camp with a bike and ignore you. . Picked up my British Army Bivi this week , cannot wait to try it out on the South Downs.
Hi and thanks for watching Yes the public don’t bother bike packers as they think they are on holiday Rack sounds good Good luck with the bivy can’t beat army issue Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper quick tip. Don’t wear a back pack on ur back while cycling as the combined weight hurts your bum bones with the increased pressure, put the heavy bag on a rack and ride lighter.
@@Dutcharmytentlol too late !! Could not work out how to fit the big pack in the rack , Perhaps stand it up then secure around seat post and even me ? Will try next time Cheers
Another great camp! I don’t think I’ve seen you on a bike before. Also, you’re really convincing me that a tarp and bivy is the way to go. Is that a British Army bivy?
Thanks again for sharing Adrian,I have to say, your channel is at the top of my favourites. Like your set ups and locations. Total silence apart from nature, simply brilliant. How do you find the hooped bivvy compared to the one you used to use and does it have a mosquito net on the zip? Cheers
Hi and thanks for watching and enjoying the videos, it’s a tranquil place as not many people would make the trek, The Dutch hooped army bivy is probably by a long way my favourite as I have yet to have and damp or condensation, must be the fact you can vent it while still being draught free, just a bit heavy at 1.6 kg Cheers
Great stuff, canny spot, i like the windsheid with the cut outs for the pot handle, been looking at Ali express. Anyway great vid as always, king of the tarp n bivi! Thanks for sharing
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you liked it, yes I have padded trousers and shirts but never thought !!!
Cheers
Smashing Adrian, well done for getting away from the bank holiday hot spots and finding your own piece of tranquility there, nice one 👌

Nice one Adrian, I assume that’s the same storm me Bob and Mark camped in, it was a canny wet night 😂
Hi and thanks for watching, yes the same storm about 4 am it was so heavy it was mad !! It did not spoil a very tranquil camp mind

Good to see the bike make an appearance Adrian , good test of the gear . No midge ? If that was on my side I would be swarmed 😂😂 atb Dave
Hi Dave, just a few gnats not really any midge, I was extreme by the water but it was either breezy or raining
I do fancy some bike camps so may look into it

FYI
For the windshield - try a bit of an old bike spoke. If you use a stainless steel one it doesn’t rust.
