Brian's primary influence was The Four Freshmen group. Even after he started The Beach Boys he attended their concerts. Amazing harmonies.

The Beach Boys were the sound of beach, car, and endless summer culture of the 1960’s. Say to anyone from that time.. Beach Boys… and a smile with a memory will happen every time.

A very nice reaction 🌅! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to The Beach Boys before: Fun Fun Fun, Don't Worry Baby, California Girls, I Get Around and Good Vibrations. Wouldn’t It Be Nice was released as the third single from The Beach Boys' 1966 album: Pet Sounds. It was written by Brian Wilson, Tony Asher and Mike Love. It was produced by Brian Wilson. The song reached #7 on the Cash Box 100 and #8 on the Hot 100. No info on the music video available.
This is an innocent love song is told from the perspective of a young man who is deeply in love and enjoys spending every waking moment his sweetheart. In an era when most Americans married in their early 20s, these kind of songs often ended in wedding vows, but Brian Wilson took a different approach, making it a song about savoring their time in the present, as they are too young to be married. Even though he was very sophisticated musically, Wilson was looking for ways to relate to the teen audience and hit upon the "too young to be married" theme for this song.
Brian Wilson wrote the song with contributions from vocalist Mike Love and lyricist Tony Asher. Tony Asher wrote all of the lyrics except for the "Good night, my baby, sleep tight, my baby" lines at the end of the song, which were Mike Love's contribution.
Mike Love sang the bridge; Brian Wilson did the verses. Mike Love explained in the liner notes from The Beach Boys' 1997 compilation box set album: The Pet Sounds Sessions, that Brian Wilson made him do over 30 takes singing one background section of this song. Around the 20th take, Mike Love started affectionately calling him "dog ears", as he could hear things other humans couldn't. "Brian must have been part canine because he was reaching for something intangible, imperceptible to most, and all but impossible to execute", wrote Mike Love.
Like other tracks on the album: Pet Sounds, "Wouldn't It Be Nice" contains a prominent technical flaw in the final mix, in which an audible tape splice is heard between the chorus and Mike Love's vocal entrance in the bridge. The error was mended on the track's 1996 stereo mix created by Mark Linett for The Pet Sounds Sessions compilation box set album. Mark Linett explained: "The abrupt edit [...] was an edit that took an older mix with Mike Love singing and put it in the bridge. I didn't figure that out for years!". The 1996 stereo mix features Brian Wilson singing the bridge because the tape with Mike Love's singing was not available.
The song has been featured in some films including 📽: Shampoo (1975), Roger & Me (1989), Man Seeking Woman (1997), The Experiment (2001), Bubble Boy (2001), 50 First Dates (2004), I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007), It's Complicated (2009), Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World (2012), The Girl In The Sun (2013), Brice 3 (2016), Baywatch (2017), Marrowbone (2017), Freindzone (2021) and more.
The song has been covered by many artists including 📻: Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Jeffrey Foskett, Saint Etienne, Paul Canning, Rebecca Pidgeon, Michael Carpenter, The Bloomfields, Liz Callaway, Fred Simon, Jan Krist, Alex Chilton, Trevor Yuile ft Stacey Y, Mike Post, Wilson Phillips and more.
    Legacy 🛡:
In 2005, The Beach Boys TV movie was titled: "The Beach Boys: Wouldn't It Be Nice".
In 2006, The National Review magazine compiled a list of what they claim are the 50 most conservative rock lyrics. This was one of the songs they mentioned, claiming it advocates abstinence and promotes marriage.
In 2006, Pitchfork ranked it number seven on its list of "The 200 Best Songs of the 1960s".
National Review ranked it number five on a 2006 list of the greatest politically conservative rock songs, where it was described as "pro-abstinence and pro-marriage".
In 2008, Popdose staff members ranked it the 22nd-best single of the previous 50 years, writing that "no other song [...] so perfectly captures the idea of innocent love".
In 2021, it was ranked number 297 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

    Lyrics 🗒:
Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong?
You know it's gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together
Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new?
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through
Happy times together we've been spending
I wish that every kiss was never ending
    Oh, wouldn't it be nice?
Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray
    It might come true
Baby, then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do
Oh, we could be married (oh, we could be married)
And then we'd be happy (and then we'd be happy)
    Oh, wouldn't it be nice?
You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
    But let's talk about it
    Oh, wouldn't it be nice?
    Goodnight, my baby
    Sleep tight, my baby
    Goodnight, my baby
    Sleep tight, my baby
    The Beach Boys Info 📰:
The Beach Boys are an American rock band that formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Distinguished by their vocal harmonies, adolescent-oriented lyrics, and musical ingenuity, they are one of the most influential acts of the rock era. They drew on the music of older pop vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll, and black R&B to create their unique sound. Under Brian Wilson's direction, they often incorporated Classical or Jazz elements and unconventional recording techniques in innovative ways. They were influenced by Chuck Berry.

The Beach Boys began as a garage band, managed by Brian, Dennis, Carl Wilsons' father, Murry Wilson, with Brian Wilson serving as composer, arranger, producer and de facto group leader. From 1962 to 1963, David Marks was part of the lineup. In 1963, the band enjoyed their first national hit with the song: "Surfin' U.S.A.", beginning a string of top-ten singles that reflected a Southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance, dubbed the: "California Sound". They were one of the few American Rock bands to sustain their commercial standing during the musical British Invasion of the 1960s. Starting with their 1965 album: The Beach Boys Today!, they abandoned beachgoing themes for more personal lyrics and ambitious orchestrations. Brian Wilson withdrew from concert tours and was then substituted onstage by Bruce Johnston. In 1966, the group's album: The Pet Sounds, and their single: "Good Vibrations", raised the group's prestige as Rock music innovators. After scrapping their 1967 album: The Smile, Brian Wilson gradually ceded control of the group to his fellow bandmates.
In the late 1960s, the group's commercial momentum faltered in the US, and despite efforts to maintain an experimental sound, they were widely dismissed by the early Rock music press and media. After Carl Wilson took over as the group's musical leader, the band made records that would later enjoy a cult following among fans, and briefly recruited the Flames' singers Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar into their group lineup. In the mid-1970s, as their concerts drew larger audiences, the band transitioned into an oldies act. Dennis Wilson drowned in 1983 and Brian Wilson soon became estranged from the group. Following Carl Wilson's passing from lung cancer in 1998, the band granted Mike Love legal rights to tour under the group's name. In the early 2010s, the original surviving group members briefly reunited for the band's 50th anniversary. As of 2023, Brian Wilson and Al Jardine do not perform with Mike Love's current edition of The Beach Boys, but remain official members of the band.
The Beach Boys are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide. They helped legitimize popular music as a recognized art form and influenced the development of music genres and movements such as Psychedelia, Power Pop, Progressive Rock, Punk, Alternative and Lo-Fi. Between the 1960s and 2020s, the group had 37 songs reach the US Top 40 (the most by an American band), with four topping the Billboard Hot 100. In 2004, they were ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone's list of the greatest artists of all time. The founding members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
The band routinely appears in the upper reaches of ranked lists such as "The Top 1000 Albums of All Time". Many of the group's songs and albums, including: The Beach Boys Today!, Smiley Smile, Sunflower and Surf's Up-and especially Pet Sounds and "Good Vibrations"-are featured in numerous lists devoted to the greatest albums or singles of all time. The latter two frequently appear on the number one spot. On Acclaimed Music, which aggregates the rankings of decades of critics' lists, "Pet Sounds" is ranked as the greatest album of all time, while "Good Vibrations" is the third-greatest song of all time ("God Only Knows" is also ranked 21). The group itself is ranked number 11 in its 1000 most recommended artists of all time. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked the band number 12 on the magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time".
In 2017, a study of AllMusic's catalog indicated the Beach Boys as the 6th most frequently cited artist influence in its database. For the 50th anniversary of the group's album: Pet Sounds, 26 artists contributed to a Pitchfork retrospective on its influence, which included comments from members of Talking Heads, Yo La Tengo, Chairlift and Deftones. The editor noted that the "wide swath of artists assembled for this feature represent but a modicum of the album's vast measure of influence. Its scope transcends just about all lines of age, race, and gender. Its impact continues to broaden with each passing generation". "Pet Sounds" came to inform the developments of music genres such as Pop, Rock, Jazz, Electronic, Experimental, Punk and Hip-Hop.
In 2021, the staff of Ultimate Classic Rock ranked the Beach Boys as the top American band of all time; the publication's editor wrote in the group's entry that "few bands ... have had a greater impact on popular music".
In 2023, a study by music psychologist Michael Bonshor suggested that two of their songs were among the happiest songs ever recorded: "Good Vibrations" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice". The study used a formula based on tempo, key, lyrics and musical features to rank 126 songs from a period of 50 years.
The Beach Boys still perform their music live on stage in 2023.
      The Beach Boys Landmarks 🏘:
The Wilsons' California house, where the Wilson brothers grew up and the group began, was demolished in 1986 to make way for Interstate 105, the Century Freeway. A Beach Boys Historic Landmark (California Landmark No. 1041 at 3701 West 119th Street), dedicated on May 20, 2005, marks the location.
On December 30, 1980, the Beach Boys were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 1500 Vine Street.
On September 2, 1977, the group performed before an audience of 40,000 at Narragansett Park in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, which remains the largest concert audience in Rhode Island history. In 2017, the street where the concert stage formerly stood was officially renamed to "Beach Boys Way".
On September 21, 2017, The Beach Boys were honored by Roger Williams University and plaques were unveiled to commemorate the band's concert on September 22, 1971, at the Baypoint Inn & Conference Center in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The concert was the first-ever appearance of South African Ricky Fataar as an official member of the band and Filipino Billy Hinsche as a touring member, essentially changing the Beach Boys' live and recording act's line-up into a multi-cultural group. Diversity is a credo of Roger Williams University, which is why they chose to celebrate this moment in the band's history.

What other group has key changes and tempo changes in their songs? None. The instrumentation is beyond reality.
