Elton is one of the biggest selling recording artists of all time, and had a career putting out hits that spanned at least four decades. He’s still touring. I consider myself fortunate I got to see him live once.

The song has been played at millions of weddings. Elton's songwriting partner Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics when he was just seventeen years old. It blows my mind that someone so young could write such a beautiful song about love & friendship. In their partnership Bernie would typically provide Elton the lyrics written like poetry and Elton would then compose the music and the arrangement. Please react to more of their music!

The way they worked together was they didn't work together..Bernie would write the lyrics in another room, or some place, then pass them to Elton, and he'd put it to music..As far as I know they never collaborated, or worked in the same room..They preferred it that way.

As vast as his musical history is “Your Song” is without a doubt his signature song. He’s only been performing and writing music for 50 years !! His partner who’s collaborated with him on “His songs” will write lyrics....send them to him & he puts them to music. It sounds simple and perhaps it is but his talent for putting words to music is unmatched !! He was one of two musical talents invited on “Inside the Actors Studio” a program on Bravo. I watched as he demonstrated his talent for adapting words to music, it was extraordinary to say the least. I wouldn’t be surprised if TH-cam had it archived. Elton toured with Billy Joel (the other musician on that show) and they were exceptional together. Both excellent on the piano & having extensive musical history. The show I attended, Billy had been sick and had not performed the previous day. He only lasted about half of this show so Elton picked up the slack playing both their songs beautifully to finish out the concert. I was so fortunate to witness these iconic piano men !! 🙏🏻❤️

The Legend, the Icon, the Great Singer and Songwriter (along with his best mate: Bernie Taupin), Mr. Elton. One of the most important singers of our time. A great rabbit hole to go down Angela. I love your reactions so much-- so heartfelt. In fact, every time I go looking for a reaction to a particular song, if I see you in the search query, you're one of my top choice go-to reactors. You have a wonderful heart and character! It's infections in a positive, inspiring way, as well as refreshing to see the youth of this generation connecting with the positives of the past and using it to inspire them today! Thank you for keeping so much wonderful music alive through your reactions along with many others here on TH-cam who do it in such a spritely way!!!!! It's a wonderful sight to see you all uncovering songs you were not aware existed to what seems to me like not so long ago, yet it's been longer than even some of your lifetimes that it came into existence, just sitting out there waiting for newer generations to discover it and make it live again! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Have a lovely day, Angela!
BTW, I still think you'd like Tender Years by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band (Eddie & The Cruisers Soundtrack).

Sweet song indeed, you are fun to watch. Elton was magnificent when I saw him, playing every hit I could have wanted plus amazing deep cuts like All the Young Girls Love Alice, Madman Across the Water and Funeral for a Friend. Also try Goodbye Yellowbrick Road,, Levon, Tiny Dancer and Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting, all great songs. Enjoy! Rock On! 😎

The first time I heard this waay back in the 70s was a cover (I thought it was their song) by Three Dog Night - it's pretty good!!

When this first Rocked das waves I wasn't around yet, but mum was playing it
often when she danced about her kitchen...und it became "my song" as well. :-)
Like your reactions much...Liked und Subbed.
Have a fun day und be safe. Auf Wiedersehen aus Wiesbaden :-)

From 1970. Done by Three Dog Night (another great group) and a number of others to include Lady Gaga.

This is my first time on your channel, so let me say nice to meet you and thank you for the reaction! Elton John has many great songs, most of them collaborations with his lyricist Bernie Taupin. If you wish to explore his music further I would recommend "Daniel", "Tiny Dancer", "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters", "Levon" and "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" as great places to start! Best wishes to you for much success with your channel!!
