  • My Kali Invader 2.0 finally arrived and on Easter Sunday no less. While the kids were napping Kevin we wanted to get a quick unboxing and comparison of this updated invader to Kevin's IXS Trigger FF.
    The Kali Invader 1.0 and the IXS Trigger FF were already direct competitors in the light weight enduro / full face trail helmet segment. Will the new features, will this new Invader cause Kevin to get Triggered...
    If you would like to see Kevin's unboxing video on the Trigger FF you can find a link here: • IXS Trigger FF Review:...

    Good review, ordered one for combination trail mountain bike riding and the onewheel I'm trying to learn.

    I have found this very interesting, in New Zealand we have 3 shell sizes for the IXS, and the lastest model we have availble to to us has MIPS

      Very interesting indeed! We do have the MIPS version avaliable now in the US but it was not out when Kevin bought his.
      Overall I am happy to see companies competing in the light enduro / trail full face segment. In the end it will help the consumers!

    Been shopping for a FF… would go with the ixs and Mets due to the great amount of coverage in the back.

    Hey guys,AND gals..... I'm so glad I found your channel and I'm subscribing now. I'm new to shopping for helmets and I'm looking for a summer full face now. The 2 I'm looking at are the ixs trigger mips and the kali invader 2.0. I'm 5'7 240LBS with a 58cm head and a fat face! Can you both help me as well as yous can....PLEASE.... whitch of the 2 helmets you have fit better,more comfortable,and what size do yous recommend. My only helmet is a bell mx9 adventure size large and fit snug the way it should..... THANK YOUS SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP YOUS CAN PROVIDE ME!!!!!!

      I think it comes down to how much you want MIPS. The value you are getting in the Invader 2.0 is hard to beat. Both have replaceable cheap pads so face shape should not be an issue, and from what Kate and I can tell, sizing seems to be pretty accurate. Per your measurement I would say you are in the smaller shell size for both.
      If I were making the decision as it stands today its close, but I would go Invader 2.0. MIPS is an interesting technology and I can see where some crashes it is a benefit and others where it may not be, so I am undecided.
      If you have had a helmet with mips in the past and like the idea, then yes, the extra coin would be worth it for peace of mind. After all if you are going to be second guessing yourself on a difficult section of trail about your helmet choice you are already in trouble.
      You will not regret getting either one, and at the end of the day you still can't decide... buy the one that looks better to you. 😊

    Wondering if you had any issues with the vertical adjustment moving out of position too easily on the back where the ratchet is? Got one of these for my son today and he definitely needs it adjusted to the smallest setting, but with the slightest movement, that vertical adjustment drops all the way down.

    • @HeretoWherever
      @HeretoWherever  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not had that issue coming out of adjustment. You may want to ask IXS directly and ask if you need a replacement part or something. You always want to be confident in your safety equipment!

      @@HeretoWherever ended up sending the Kali back unfortunately. Super cool looking helmet, but not the right fit for the kiddo's head even if that vertical adjustment was acting right. Ended up with a Bell Super Air R like his older brother has and ordered thicker face pads for the chin bar.

    can you fit goggles under visor on kali?

    • @HeretoWherever
      @HeretoWherever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not... but maybe.
      I don't have a pair to test but the visor on this size small does not seem to go up as far as the ixs trigger ff Kevin has. That just barely seems to clear goggles so 🤷.

    Does the 2.0 have a downhill certificate now?

    • @HeretoWherever
      @HeretoWherever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Per Kali's website the 2.0 is EN 1078 certified but I don't see where it's listed as a downhill certified helmet.

    • @Dark__Thoughts
      @Dark__Thoughts 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HeretoWherever EN 1078 is just a standard cycling helmet certificate. I guess I'll stick to the IXS, as safety is more important than a one time crash discount.

      3.0 will along with Dutch) Ebike rating
      Chinbar is strong..stronger than any DH rated convertible chin bar.
      It lacks w DH rating due to too many vents in rear of Helmet

      Wish they or someone in general would make a Dutch rated Helmet

      @@HeretoWherever talked to kali and the lack of DH rating is due to too many vents in the rear of the Helmet.
      Ive always assumed the DH rating was strictly for the chinbar..

      They'll also have a 3.0 version soon which will be DH rated, possibly NTA rated
