Well, the Giro Insurgent spherical MIPS is very similar to the Bell Full 10. I’ve been very happy with it, but I whacked my head and it did a great job and now needs to be replaced. It’s cheaper than the Full 10. So…
I own the Bell Super 3R. I use it for local trail and enduro races. I do a lot of stupid shit so I use a full face. Broke two half shells this year in wrecks. Could easily have been my teeth or jaw hitting those rocks.
Had a 100% Aircraft 2 that I wrecked in and wasn't able to get a replacement due to it being sold out, I snagged the Giro Insurgent and I'm liking it's fit and feel more than the Aircraft 2.
I have Giro Switchblae Mips. Its an excellent DH/enduro helmet. Very comfortable and very strong helmet. But i want to get Troy Lee Stage. Because Giro does not have alot of air ventilation etc. Sometimes when i do alot of riding and bread alot it can tough to bread specially in the winter. I really like that troy lee design
Never use a biking helmet u have to use motor cross helmet if u hit jumps and ride fast ..not one mountain bike helmet is certified above 25 mph ...ur head is the most important thing without ur head you can't do anything
I just purchased the Smith Mainline and Fox Proframe (size large / 59mm head) and would have to say the Mainline is a bit more comfortable. I did play around with the different size pads. The MIPS system on both helmets do creak a lot. Hopefully this goes away after a few downhill rides. If not, I will return and get a non-MIPS helmet.
I just retired my proframe yesterday. Had it for 6 months, had one crash yesterday and got knocked out. The lightweight is nice but I’ve hit my head much harder on my dirtbike and walked away just fine…this one was at a slow speed and messed me up.
I absolutely love this video. Excellent pro grade quality reviews on most of the helmets we all end up narrowing down to. My only gripe as a female is that NO videos talk about the shells being dif sizes vs same and whats best for small heads. Im approx 52 cm and its just so hard to figure what will actually not be massive or loose or even bulky. I come from motorcycles and never liked modular helmets bc not tight enough.. i dont want to get a mtb helmet and end up with that issue or sizing issues etc
I have nevre ridden in a Bell Super Air R so I can't really speak on it, but I do own a Proframe RS and have nothing but great things to say about it. Really, you can't go wrong either way.
My old DH helmet was the RPC before i had to retire it. Mine was the white NITEEYEZ color way and I broke my original visor, but, Fox didn’t have any color matched visor available, so I had to finagle an older RPC visor in black 🫤
hello good evening , I am thinking about buying rs fox or the Troy Lee designs stage . I recently bought an e scooter and it goes 40mph , I am using everywhere . what is your advice ?
You can't go wrong either way! We think that both are honestly great options. I personally own a Fox Proframe RS and love it! You'll be well protected regardless of which one you choose.
HI guys what do you think about the POC CORON AIR MIPS I really like this helmet the fit everything decided to use a full face helmet after a fall and busted my face, I Like this helmet. What do you guys think about it?
If you didn't get one yet check these two out Limar Livigno and Danaise linea 01 Super light, vented and DH rated 570 and 590 grams Both are very reputable brands and MTB and motox
I have a 100% aircraft and leatt enduro that I both got on sale. I really like the clicking cinch system on the enduro. The aircraft fits snug enough that I don't even use the strap and buckle
Best one I've found for the price was outdoor masters Grizzly 110ish dollars Dh rated, MIPS, has enough vents, and decent weight 750grams(mid weight imo)
Hey guys !! im kinda of new to full face Im looking to get one for riding BMX, so im not gonna be at DH speeds/air time, but i do want chin protection and cheeck protection. What would u reccomend me ? like 1 or 2 ideas ? breathable lightweight but most chin/cheeck protection from these ? please some guidance < 3
@@cechichan Yes, the Kali Invader 2.0 is also a good option. If you have a line on one and that's the route you want to go, it's not a bad choice. The chin bar is strong, lifetime warranty... it's a good helmet.
Gambit looks the coolest...but looks aside, I really love Danaise linea 01. The fox proframe Has a weak chin bar But I think they have a new version of it now.. Limar Livigno is another DH helmet to look into
Question, what is the more bulky looking helmet out of the Specialized gambit and Smith Mainline - I mean bulky looking on the head? I'm after a slim line looking helmet that isnt too bulky on the head
I ride motorcycles and of the ways we shop is based on our head type, which is round or oval. How come you don’t address round or oval in the video when talking about bicycle helmets? It would really help us when shopping especially online. Cheers
Agree, I think this is lacking in the mountain bike world in general. Moto helmet vendors usually state what shape head fit the helmet is for, but I have not seen this from any of the mountain bike helmets. I'm an Arai Signet long oval, so finding the right fit can be hard.
@@DoubleTap702 I actually owned a couple of Aircraft 2's when they first came out, right before my obsession with Fox started. Honestly, one of the most comfortable and stylish looking helmets I've ever owned... fit great, looked great, had pretty decent ventilation, no complaints.
@@DoubleTap702 I have a odd shape head and often fit between a medium and a large. I just wished they had more than 2 shell sizes. Small and medium use same shell size and makes the changes with pad/liner sizing. Same with the Large/XL. I went with a size large. Fits secure and good ventilation. Just bought a second Aircraft 2 I found on sale which was better than their crash replacement discount. Same day I had a crash wearing my Mainline.
Very surprised you didn’t cover the only safety competitor to the Full 10, the Giro Insurgent. The Insurgent and the Full 10 were developed together in the same lab when it comes to the spherical MIPS. Anyway, too late now….
It should have added the Bell super DH which is, still has the best mips which is integral not the hard thin plastic layer which decreases direct impact effectiveness.
funny review, lots of filler talk, no comprehensive comparison/rating. basically “it’s light, it’s safe, has mips, lots of ventilation”… ??? i could just do with a list of names of these helmets and then picked the one i liked the look of the most, no need for a video

We're curious, what helmet is your favorite for the style of riding that you do and why?
IXS Trigger FF. The best helmet imo cause it has also mips and is certified for downhill as well and perfect airflow by just 600 grams.
