While in Tenerife, just a week ago, these were my favourite things to eat at every meal! Thank you for making it simple to understand! It’s Valentine’s Day today, so I’m cooking him Canadian potatoes, with chicken in white wine sauce. Yummy xx

I lived in Gran Canaria for 6 years...definitely my favourite tapa, my friend’s mom adds a bit of tomato and red pepper to the mojo picón and it’s a great taste..a bit thicker - viva Canarias y las papitas arrugadas con mojo! 🇮🇨

I haven't thought about using toasted bread for sauce yet - thanks for this idea!

I had them for the first time way back in 2005 when I visited Cran Canaria w/ my younger brother and mum and dad. I immediately LOVED them! I made a Portuguese version of the potatoes today w/ a Chanfana goat stew and they were just amazing! Next time I am really giving the mojos a try since I want to share these amazing flavour memories w/ my husband - he is a huge fan of chillies and coriander so I’m sure he’ll love the dipping sauces to go w/ the potatoes 😍🤭🤤

I do them here in the UK as well, exactly the same way. :D The main problem is that in Canary we use papa negra, which is smaller, with black skin, and kind of a more waxy flavour. Haven't seen that variety here :/

I haven't seen it here neither. Not even in the Iberian peninsula, it's a very local potato that doesn't get exported. Having said that I have seen similar ones from Peru so keep your eyes peel.

With apple vinegar and detergent you can clean the pans. Thanks

Traditionally you are supposed to use Papa Negra which can be expensive but worth it.
