This kit is specially designed to upgrade the pre-facelift Porsche 911 996.1 xenon projector headlights. Custom-designed mounting brackets are used to replace the original projectors and mount the new ones. The kit can also be used for the Boxster 986 model.

Retrofitting refers to the addition of new technology or features to older systems. These days there are a lot of people who put a simple plug & play xenon kit in their halogen headlight housing in an attempt to improve night vision and looks of their vehicle. In fact they don’t realize that their headlight beams are often worse than before. Night vision achieves relatively little improvement on night vision because of a poor beam pattern, which increases the blinding of other road users. This is because their headlight housings are designed for halogen and not xenon.
A true Bi-Xenon projector update is now possible for your car. Such an upgrade will significantly improve your light output from 700-2100 lumens to 2800 and 3500 lumens, without blinding other traffic with glare from your headlight. Upgrade your headlight OEM style!

The 996 with Litronics actually has Bi-Xenons from the factory. If you read the factory service manual (I believe its in book #1 "General" under lighting), it details that the beam mask shifts when you put your high beams on, and the Halogens are just to help in the peripheral out of the focus range of the Xenons.
EDIT: I should clarify something I just learned. They don't actually move the beam mask, the headlight leveling motor moves the whole projector up by 1.5 degrees when the high beams go on. The 996.2 introduced a shifting beam mask along with a jump to marginally greater lens diameter in the projectors.

I need to do this on my 911 I just replaced the bulbs thinking that the old bulb was weak. It did not help, but now I know why thank you so much now I need this kit asap

I need your help I just put in my order but I believe I have ordered the incorrect unit for my model year
Are these kits road legal? The ‘disclaimer’ on the ‘additional’ tab for every kit I can find states that they are not road legal and will invalidate insurance. Maybe some of them are road legal and I’m missing something. Is there maybe a secret underground group of people doing ‘track nights’ that I’ve yet to come across?

Technically all retrofits are'nt legal. All modifications are not, apart from chaning bulbs and ballast those parts are me to be swapped.
Depending on which country you live in regulations/rules might vary, best to check before you place an order.
We have never had any cutsomer come back to us not passing the MOT/TüV after installing a kit from us, but we do have to mention it, that is why it is with every productpage.

The optimus TR mini is a projector with a 2.5 inch lens.
