I really appreciate how none of this wiring is the same on the led kit, there are no instructions, and no specific video to show how to wire it. Real great customer service guys. Don't feel like I've been taken for a fool with money, at all.
Hi, i'm a bit confused with the spacers for mounting the OEM ball joint things. On the video you used 50mm for black plastic piece, 20mm for white plastic piece and 10mm for cream plastic piece. Near the end you said you changed. Can you clarify the changes? I used the spacer setup I just mentioned but it sees the light is pointed towards the side of the housing. Same car 996.1. Thanks
That should be correct (the spacers). Normally you should be able to adjust it sideways with the adjustment screws. Maybe you can also compare it with how it sits in part 2 th-cam.com/video/cC1Oucv3xDI/w-d-xo.html
I have the same question and the answer given really isn’t an answer or a great one . & my car (2000 996.1 with halogen oem) has an adjusting marker, there is no mention of this or what to do ‽
Does anyone know what the fix was to this? I’ve followed the video precisely and they everyone else, my projector housing is pointing off to the side wildly! I’ve tried to turn the adjustment ‘dials’ to get it back straighter and it seems to make almost no difference. I need the car for work soon and this is really slowing my down re-fitting it all! Why couldn’t there just have been simple printed instructions? 🤷♂️ Even with the video it’s taken a tonne of guess work trying to work out with screws to use and what should and shouldn’t have washers! Been a nightmare! 😂🤦♂️
… Ok solved it! For anyone that encounters this problem, there are three cream coloured adjustment holes on the side of the headlight casing, that accept a 5mm Allen key and would be accessible from the inside of your frunk when the headlight is mounted… The stock headlight is MUCH further forward than these retrofitlab ones and I had to wind the adjusters a LONG way back, it’s not a small adjustment.. If you only turn the adjusters (with your 5mm Allen key) a couple of turns you’ll be convinced the headlight build is still wrong.. But if you keep turning them for what feels like forever, you can finally get your projector housing pointing straight in the headlamp. I used the two adjusters that are stacked on top of each other… Top one tips top of the projector baseplate (bracket forwards or backwards) and the bottom adjuster does the same for the bottom of the baseplate (bracket) I hope that helps the next girl/guy! Goodluck! 👍
At 39:18 you point to a rubber, can i buy that rubber separately? Also, do you know the length of the D2S to Amp adapter which plugs into the bulb and exits out the rear cover and connects to ballast, the one you're holding at 37:14
Hi, yes the rubber can be purchased separate, please send us an email (info@retrofitlab.com) so we can send you a custom link. The length of the cable is about 20/25 cm.
We now also have a kit for the Litronic single xenon version :-) www.retrofitlab.com/en/porsche-911-9961-986-boxster-1996-2004-litronic-xenon-headlights.html th-cam.com/video/t_OeH7Zz1fE/w-d-xo.html
With this specific headlight, a screwdriver works as easy as the permaseal tools. Also because this is not a very difficult permaseal, the screwdriver works also works well.
It really depends on your own preference. Both options have pros/cons in comparison with each other. Bi-Led is a newer technology, it is instant on, has less components, so it's more modern. Xenon HID has a longer start up time and is a tiny bit harder to install because of the ballast. But you can choose the color temperature of the bulb, bulb and ballast can be changed in case something fails. And also, with a good bulb like Osram, light output and pattern is still a bit better.
Thats pretty cool, but it wouldnt work for me. Bro if I tried this I would ruin my headlights, I cannot do all that. I wish someone around here offered this service, i’d rather pay someone than potentially destroy them myself.
The box is quite big and not really sealed/insulated, so it won't get as hot as the setting on the heatgun. Also there needs to be a good distance between the heatgun and the headlight, because otherwise, it will melt.
Wiring … looking at Yellon& White wires … you say “Yellow is positive for the dimming function , and yellow is positive for the turn signals” WTF YOUR WIRING INSTRUCTIONS ARE HORRIBLE

I agree, I bought the LED kit and there are NO WIRING instructions. wasted $350 bucks.
Hi Terry,
I have responded to all your emails and send you a manual on the wiring of the LED shroud, perhaps check your spam box?
Kind regards,
Jesse
What size hole to drill through the back plate to route the wires?
Around 22 mm 🙂

Nice job sir. I am from india.pls one detail video on Honda wrv car headlights customizing.
Thanks!
Is it possible to adjust the halogen in the Mercedes C w203 size 180 compressor to xenon lenses?
Please do this for vw golf mk4 with Valeo headlight
The MK4 halogen reflector headlight can be retrofitted, but it is quite hard because it is too shallow for a threaded mount method.
Do you have an Upgrade for Litronics Headlights?
We now also have a kit for the Litronic single xenon version :-)

Hello, thanks for your vidéo but we dont see how you put the glasses on the headlight after the transformation ? How you paste it ?
?
An error was made while editing the video. We will fix this.. Sorry! You can use butyl to seal the headlights again.
Why don't you use the permaseal tools you sell?
With this specific headlight, a screwdriver works as easy as the permaseal tools. Also because this is not a very difficult permaseal, the screwdriver works also works well.
Do you ship to the US?
Yes, we do, no problem :-)
Great video, thank you.
Good to hear, thanks :-)!
I have a boxster's, xenon lighting, I just want the DRL ring ????
Sorry, the panamera style DRL is part of the shroud and the shroud can't be replaced on the version that already has xenon / a projector.
Bonjour, je voudrais savoir comment brancher les fils de pleins phare rouge et noire sur du h7 d'origine vers h1 pour la lentille. Cordialement
Please send us an email at: info@retrofitlab.com so we can help you out :)
Which is better for this headlight, a bi-hid or a bi-led?
It really depends on your own preference. Both options have pros/cons in comparison with each other.
Bi-Led is a newer technology, it is instant on, has less components, so it's more modern.
Xenon HID has a longer start up time and is a tiny bit harder to install because of the ballast. But you can choose the color temperature of the bulb, bulb and ballast can be changed in case something fails. And also, with a good bulb like Osram, light output and pattern is still a bit better.
do you know if they ship that to the USA?
Yes, we ship world wide. So USA is not a problem. :)
The edge of the Shield was damaged ??
Not sure what you mean, sorry. Could you please rephrase that? ;)
Thats pretty cool, but it wouldnt work for me. Bro if I tried this I would ruin my headlights, I cannot do all that. I wish someone around here offered this service, i’d rather pay someone than potentially destroy them myself.
Do you still have that kit in stack?
Sure! :)
Retrofitlab.com okay.Thank you.
A bit to complicated. Thank you.
Can I pay you to make me headlights?
Sorry, we do not offer the retrofit service anymore. Please see our dealer list: www.retrofitlab.com/en/our-dealers.html
I wish he did, saves me the headache to trying and breaking the head light with my own hands
300° Celsius? 572° f . Surprised the entire light doesn’t melt .
The box is quite big and not really sealed/insulated, so it won't get as hot as the setting on the heatgun. Also there needs to be a good distance between the heatgun and the headlight, because otherwise, it will melt.
Wiring … looking at Yellon& White wires … you say “Yellow is positive for the dimming function , and yellow is positive for the turn signals” WTF
YOUR WIRING INSTRUCTIONS ARE HORRIBLE
Sorry about the confusion, white is for dimming and yellow is for the turn signal. Please email us so we can send you the wiring diagram.
You have to be smarter than the light. 🤷♀️
