  • In this video, I use IPC Hammer to modify a 2003 GM instrument cluster. This modification adds 7k RPM, 140MPH, and transmission temp. This is using the latest version of IPC Hammer 16.1. This applies to Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon, Sierra, and so on.

    Let me know what you think! I forgot to explain the 5k RPM is checked because that calibration is modifying the way that option works.

      I appreciate that, I've been working on that. I know I go off on random tangents so I've been editing out some of those haha.

    So I have been doing cluster repair for years on these GM's but haven't gotten into doing custom stuff....but now I have a unique project in which I have swapped a 6.0 Express engine into a circle track truck and think it would be interesting to combine some techniques here and I am curious if it's doable. I actually want to take the 05 Express cluster and switch the speedo (which we don't need or want) to tach (nice big and centered), convert the FUEL guage to transmission temp (don't need fuel level and will use the transmission temp feed from the PCM for Engine oil temperature) and possibly change the other gauge locations). The overlay only needs to be functional. Is this something that can be done with IPC Hammer alone? (Aside from the overlay of course). Starting to like the idea of digging a little deeper into these!

    Hey buddy I was wondering how do you unlock/enable the full d.i.c (fuel economy, oil life, ect.) on the cluster? Can you do it via changing the EPROM coding?

    Hey bro i went tru the process of doing this to my cluster and its seems like the rpm doesnt program like it should by pressing the check boxes. Do you have any ideas of what i could be doing wrong or maybe an update?

    I have 03 and I put a stepper motor for Trans temp and it does not work. I think have not see to much movement what to checkout

    Can you do the programming for this on the eeprom? That's how I've been doing the trans temp.

    Hi I tried to add steering wheel controls to a 2003-2004 cluster now it’s not turning on how much do you charge to fix

    I got this version of IPC Hammer working for me. I was wondering if this tool can program the cluster for DIC, I haven’t seen that mentioned in your videos yet.

    • @FixedUntilBroken
      @FixedUntilBroken  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can. It's just using a different calibration. Had not really mentioned it yet because I can't really explain how to pick the right calibration yet I need practice some more on that

    I have 2 clusters that I’m deciding between modifying, one with the correct mileage that has no trans temp and vice versa for the other. It seems like I need the same stuff to be able to program them but I already have hptuners can I use it instead of having to buy another obd connector with the dongle thing?

      Plus it's just unique because there's not a lot of these out there. I know Mike has tested and I'm sending one out so maybe 2 or 3 out on the road so far?

      @@FixedUntilBroken I remember seeing them on eBay like 5 years ago but had looked more recently and didn't find any but what did they come in originally

    • @FixedUntilBroken
      @FixedUntilBroken  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@james10739 yeah but they also gave you an EEPROM bin to make it work... but that doesn't work. I mean the 140mph part worked but not the 7k rpm. Its the whole thing that started this rabbit hole. so yeah there are a bunch out there that don't really work.

      that's because you are telling it that the IPC is too important to risk, read the message carefully before clicking. You need acknowledge you are comfortable with the risk.
