I always keep a 10 litre water container of fresh drinking water in an external locker. It keeps the water cool and I refill a jug and drink bottles from it. I just refill it as necessary or top up beforehand if I'm planning to be off grid.
Great advice, and thanks for giving us all confidence that very little is insurmountable. We carry baby wipes for just such an eventuality, and we do have dry shampoo, but that was principally for a smelly dog!
Made me laugh, we do three months at a time with a 12 litre on board tank, so everything you described we do😂. Ps. Tip for Norway and other countries a really good source of showers are Marinas which have them for the sailing etc, we used plenty in Norway.
Something which would worry me when touring in sub-zero temperatures would be the underslung fresh and grey water drain pipes freezing. The manufacturer of my van has lagged the tanks, and fitted 12V heaters, but the 1m of each drain pipe and taps are out in the air unprotected. I don't think lagging would help much anyway at 60mph at -10°. Is it possible that your pipes froze, and pushed the fittings and taps off the pipes? If it is significantly sub-zero then I think perhaps both tanks should be drained and the taps left open?
Thanks for the update 👍Until recently we had no built in water in our camper but have recently added a 25 litre carrier and a battery powered tap which has been a revelation. We find the combination of kitchen paper and baby wipes as a good alternative for washing up if you don’t have any water. Huggies water are our preference as they are strong and have a decent amount of liquid. Don’t let mishaps like this stop you there is always a way 🤔
Can i ask you how your Swift has stood up to your high usage ? We sold our much used Autosleeper a few weeks ago but intend to buy Swift coachbuild in the new year. How do you choose the music to your videos ? It really captures the mood.
I had the misfortune of knocking the fresh water drain off my fresh water tank, as a temporary measure to be able to fill up with water I got a wine bottle cork and wrapped some plastic electrical tape round it to pack it out to the correct size, then plugged the tank drain outlet with it. It worked till I could do a permanent repair. But in the mean time I could use the water tank as normal, except for draining it.

We put our washing up water down the cassette from the bowl keeps the cassette sweat, enjoyed the no water.
Very interesting, and I haven’t got a motorhome.
You could fit a water level alarm to tell you if the level is going down.
🙏
Disappointed not to bump into you and the entourage whilst I was 3 weeks in Denmark and Sweden. Ran out of water whilst in Sweden.
