This is why I take reviews with a grain of salt. This cruise has everything the other cruise’s have and actually looks really nice! For $200 you can’t lose. NCL and RC cruises can go for over a grand. Plus, you even got a balcony!
Reviews are often done by people who are extremely experienced and thus, set in their ways. I always tell people (clients or not) that it all depends on what you want to do on the ship or on the trip in general. If you just care about the ports, the ship isn't really that important. You can take a small ship without all the bells and whistles (Viking, for example) and have a great time. If you want the ship to be the destination, that's what you can pay (and pay and pay and pay and pay some more) for. My friends who book with me that want to party as much as possible take a ship that isn't the newest (say, 10-15ish years old, Radiance or Freedom class with RCCL as an example) and buy the biggest drinks package and pay in advance for the signature restaurants and only cruise in certain areas (with ports they've partied in before, so don't need to go ashore at). The friends who want the best value tend to go for even older ships (or a few of MSC's options) or niche ships like Margaritaville or Costa and spend their money onboard (drinks package in advance though) or in port. If you want both, THAT is when you get into the upper tiers in pricing. If you want it all, you have to pay for it all.

Would love to see Simon visit Tbilisi! Not enough content from there, lived there for a bit and it’s such an awesome place with GREAT food that Simon will actually eat!
Georgia is a beautiful country, with great culture, delicious wine and cusine. And nice people. Tbilisi also is a very young and modern cool city. Underrated indeed.
You have a LOT of reviewers that love to simply tear these ships apart. If it's what you do for a living, you notice every tiny little thing, and they end up building mountains out of molehills. You can NOT beat the value of this cruise. I would honestly say it's a 3 star cruise, and for 200 bucks? That's fine. Especially if you want to take the kids or if you're paying for a group of people.
The Costa Cruise liners don't look very pleasing exterior wise but they are so nice, sleek inside! It reminds me of the Imperator class ocean liners back in the 1900s that looked slightly unattractive by exterior but had amazing interiors!
Been on 27 cruises with 7 different cruise lines. While I've never sailed with Costa, that style of ship is the same as Carnival's Conquest class, and it's my favourite kind. Not too big, not too small. I don't care for the mega ships.
@@Therealprinceofcobh I know they are. But Carnival owns Costa, so many of the ships are very similar in decor and layout. The Concordia class is quite similar to Carnival ships like the Conquest, Valor, Liberty, Splendor, etc.
Simon, Simon, Simon. If I could tell you how many clients I've had who were just like you (but they were on Carnival which is *_significantly_* more packed). I had one client FaceTime me from the Mardi Gras, asking me where to find stuff on the ship. No, I'm not kidding. You are at least extremely extroverted so you have no problems asking people for help. Simon looks like the prototypical cruise newbie. "What's goin' on in there?!" at the photography studio.🤣LOVE IT! High fiving everyone is HILARIOUS! Never change! Oh, one thing: it's bad etiquette on cruises to talk about the Titanic or Concordia or the ship sinking in general. It's like getting into a car and saying, "This is a good day for a redline head-on" (translation: This is a good day for a head-on collision at maximum speed). Not something you want to put out into the universe. Yes, gambling in international waters means you're not governed by any one nation's gambling laws. Slots are different, except in certain areas (Middle East, for example). In those theaters, the casino wouldn't even open until the ship was in international waters. Leon is GOOD PEOPLE. You find a lot of those on the lowest rated cruises because of the price point. Working people who can't justify spending an eighth of their annual take home on a 3-5 day vacay (like Utopia of the Seas charges). Lot of my clients are like that. But this entire cruise is proof positive that sports can truly unite people. Liverpool and AC Milan (as well as Napoli) should hate each other since they often meet with the biggest stakes (Champions League usually, Europa League at worst) but they do business with each other every single day.
I actually did this exact same cruise/days/cities around 6 years ago on a company trip. Had nothing to complain about besides that I personally dont like to be stuck on a ship and have limited time to visit the cities. But the services and food were in my opinion very good
Cruise companies take advantage of cheap labour by hiring most of their crew from the Philippines and India. I'm Canadian and I felt pretty guilty making 3x as much as my Filipino coworkers for doing the same amount of work.
Costa cruises are very common on summer in Brazil, and they are usually great. If you compare to Royal Caribbean most modern ships, of course it's a little bit outdated, but that's not bad. A lot of ports cannot hold these gigantic ships, and Costa has some great options
Now I understand why older people take cruises. They might as well hop from one cheap cruise to another instead of paying 1000’s to a retirement home or a house. Just keep cruising until you actually get old enough to need hospice.
My mother bought a bunch of consecutive timeshares all in the same Mexican beach resort. So 4 months a year she spent there, every couple of weeks moving to a new unit in the same building. Lovely weather, good food, helpful and friendly staff (didn’t hurt that she tipped well) and everything in the resort. Far nicer than an assisted living place.

Im actually impressed, everyone is so nice and the boat looks pretty decent! It’s by no means a luxury cruise but everything looks pretty okay. It is basic, a bit old, tacky… but it doesn’t deserve one star.
Underrated indeed.
nah
Georgian wine.. hugely under rated
Love a cheeky little monday eve vid from wilson
13 mins in. There’s fuck all wrong with that cruise like
i thought it looked great, he wants to try the newcastle to amsterdam ferry if he wants propper 1 star 😆 a hive of scum and villiany
Guess it depends how much you've paid for it!
@@MrClayJohn I would have paid for the drinks and food. Even 500 quid for 3 days is pretty decent.
@@MrClayJohn£200
@@alrightdave6135 that's what Simon paid but we don't know what the 1 star reviewers paid
'tell you what, £200 for this and you get a slide' 😂
Been on 27 cruises with 7 different cruise lines. While I've never sailed with Costa, that style of ship is the same as Carnival's Conquest class, and it's my favourite kind. Not too big, not too small. I don't care for the mega ships.
Congrats
I’m so relieved…
It’s the Concordia class not conquest class they’re custom built for Costa
im actually on the carnival conquest in 39 days
It’s like saying Bomb on a 🛬😂
This is a cruise you take to get away for a while, thats it. No frills, nothing shiny, just "I'm on a boat and I'm ok with that".
Your must video in ages Simon. Love it! I wish i had this social manner. Bro is so happy in his own skin. It's class
I actually did this exact same cruise/days/cities around 6 years ago on a company trip. Had nothing to complain about besides that I personally dont like to be stuck on a ship and have limited time to visit the cities. But the services and food were in my opinion very good
I’ve just found this channel I LOVE how he talks to EVERYONE whether they want to or not!!
Same 😂
Goosebumps a lot Filipino seafarers there! 🇵🇭 Proudly pinoy here! ❤️
No wonder it's 1 star
Cruise companies take advantage of cheap labour by hiring most of their crew from the Philippines and India. I'm Canadian and I felt pretty guilty making 3x as much as my Filipino coworkers for doing the same amount of work.
@@Before-GTA6 what the hell is that supposed to mean?
@@Before-GTA6take a Cunard cruise and you'll find many Filipino crew as well.
Aww I love the way you get people chatting , the cruise appeared alright to me
funfact: within 24 hours he managed to shake hands with all 1000 passengers..
After seeing this comment it's all I'm noticing now and I hate it lol
Anybody eles feel dizzy watching simon walking around the ship :)
Yes! He walked though all those bars but didn’t sit for a single drink! 😹
i thought it was gonna be swans made of towels on the bed not lifejackets haha
Could've been bald and backpacker ben
Better than finding life jackets made of towels!
jason and leon id have stayed on the drink with them two 😂 looked like good lads
Costa cruises are very common on summer in Brazil, and they are usually great. If you compare to Royal Caribbean most modern ships, of course it's a little bit outdated, but that's not bad. A lot of ports cannot hold these gigantic ships, and Costa has some great options
One star?! Lol😂 it looks a lot nicer than some Carnival cruises! lol! You boarded with an open, positive attitude, good vibes, good karma in return!🤗
Some people are never happy!
Simon is sunshine in human form 🥰
Find him absolutely irksome
other prepare for their cruises months before departure. Mr Wilson goes on the cruise without any clue at all 😂
TH-cam just randomly suggested this video. I'm not disappointed. Love the format. Great job.:-D
Simon, this was my first video I’ve watched of yours and I’m already a fan👏🏾😂. Just your energy and outlook on everything is awesome and you’re absolutely hilarious as well! What a cruise that was and hey, not bad for £200 🤷🏽♂️ I may have to do one myself👀
I swear Simon said he was there for 3 days. Seemed like it was just 1
seemed like the video just ended half way thru editing lol
It was, where he got off was just a port of call
@@a_goblue2023I think what most people are complaint about is he didn’t show the last two days and the video ended abruptly
@@Imjonjones2024 yeah but my point was that he ended the video on the second day of the cruise so maybe he plans to upload another part
Yeah the way he ended it like “And that’s it. Costa Cruise done” it sounds like there won’t be a part 2 or 3
Do you have any more challenges coming up I miss them
RIP punctuation.
@@EdwardRock1 Cant say RIP to your virginity if this bothers you sadly.
Might be a bit too old for them now unfortunately lol
I second this! Loved the challenges
👀
Looks like Simon forgot his 2 pound cruise LOL
This was actually really funny. It was really entertaining. Love it!!!!!
Love your positivity, really nice vibe.
Simon whilst eating:
"I don't know if I'm supposed to pay for this"
🤦♂🤣🤣
Next up should be a "Booze-cruise" with Viking Glory or Silja Serenade/Silja Symphony from Sweden to Finland! :D
Silja Baltic Queen is also good to Tallinn, paid €15 for a bed
3 days? Looks like you were on there for 18 hours.
Yeah definitely. I can’t think what else he can film on the ship to make an entertaining part 2 or 3 though.
Thank you for approaching cruising with a positive attitude! I've seen other first-timer videos, and they seem determined to have a lousy time if it kills them. So now that you've tried a 1-star cruise, you might want to check out the world's largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas.
8:00 I’m only 8 minutes into the first video I’ve ever seen if yours and am an instant fan! You’re awesome
When simon posts my day gets 100% better
Monopoly series returns
A dream 😂
A Simon Wilson video will make you happy, trust me
I know it's a 1-Star cruise, but the crew seemed super polite and nice!
Simon Wilson = hectic editing gives you a head ache watching it
Simon and his crazy ideas 😂
"Jason, der is bekannt!" 😂
Genial 😂

Well it’s £190 a night in a travel lodge in Birmingham, so sounds like a bargain to me!!
Great video. A couple of our subscribers told us about you. We took them to Wrexham last week and they said you're from there! Thanks for your honestly on Costa. We travelled with them over the summer and found them excellent value! We love how you talk to everyone! Cheers 🍻
This is the first video I've watched of yours - holy fuckin shit brotha! You do such an amazing job giving us all the info we need while also being entertaining aF 👍💯🎯 Can't wait to watch more‼️‼️‼️
Wow 3 days went fast Simon 😂
That was only the first day, he got off in Genoa which is the first port of call
@@a_goblue2023 if you’ve paid to go on a cruise, you should have stayed on it for the duration because things might have looked good at the start but anything could’ve gone downhill!
@@a_goblue2023 Have you seen the end of the video? "Costa cruises done"
who needs companions when you're friends with everyone?
That's unbelievable value for what you get
I performed my shows on Costa for 4 years (2014-2018). I was on 12 ships of the fleet and I've only got beautiful memories. What happened with Schettino is unforgivable, but that doesn't mean that the company is bad.
Norwegian Captain: sipping Champagne with Caviar.
Syrian Captain: Can of Kestrel with a blunt.
You should go on Celebrity Cruises! Great Video
Pretty abrupt ending 😂 could have shown us the last two days and maybe more of the food!
don't think he stayed for the last two days

Really? His quality of video has gone downhill.
3 days, poor editing for me and seemed rushed.

Ha Ha You should have put the life jacket on and walked around the ship..... lol
Hahahahahahahahahahah 26:27 minute mark…… too funny!!!!!

If that's 1 Star my town is minus 15 because that ship is better than where I live.
It's really a 4 star ship, this is just for views and is completely incorrect.
@@danielfelmingham1876 is that four star as in 4/5 or 4/10? Genuine question. I have no idea how cruise "ratings" work
@TheComputec
The star ratings go up to 6 stars, so 4 is really a pretty high standard.
16:46 Actually this is one of the main reasons all the bigshots in many countries own yachts and big boats. Basically its a floating casino for them.
Squid stew, I think I’ll pass on that 😂😂😂
