I should have been wearing earphones at the start of the video, as soon as you blew the TOPS whistle, I had fanboys come running in from all over town. The riot squad had to be called when you burnt the TOPS warranty card. Awesome video mate, loved it and it held up really well IMO to the punishment.

I was surprised it made it through the lateral strain and then even more so when it survived the "Rock". Quite durable for a 1095 , but in the end it just couldn't hold up. Also 15:05 that's one apocalyptic sky/scenery. Tells you how many nanoparticles are suspended in the Atmosphere and what we are breathing in.

That Black Rhino is fine. Just some gorilla glue the blade back together. Rhino, gorilla they are used to each other so should work out fine 🤣.

Not good actually.
DLC is not a vapor barrier, rust can form through it, and the base material of the coating will fall apart,taking the coating along with it.
You still haven’t tested two of the strongest “combat-utility” blades in the Tops catalog:
1. Tops Desert Nomad
2. Tops Missile Strike
I’d love to see how well they hold up to your testing!
(P.S. -You should also see if you can break the Esee Laser Strike when you can get around to it)

@@joex well, she’s my compatriot 🇧🇷, so maybe I can arrange the introduction? In all seriousness, I don’t think you can break the Tops Desert Nomad in 440C (at least it should be as hard to as the Gerber Strongs in 420hc) as it is not deferentially heat treated like their 1095 models and both it and the Missile Strike are designed specifically as breaching tools. I know and have been speaking lately with Brian Griffin who has designed knives for Tops in the past and is well known an published here in the US knife community (He’s good friends with Ethan Becker, Joe Flowers, Aaron from Gideon’s Tactical, etc) and he HATES the Tops differential heat treat but thinks the Deserts Nomad 440C is possibly their strongest knife. Would be great to see you put it through its paces.
