This gives the "screw you" a new dimension of meaning.
Thanks
I'm floored that you manage to forge a blade, film the process, edit the footage, comment on the result, and deal with all the other aspects of life every week or so! Good work, and thanks!
It used to be every week but now i take a week to a week and half because the builds are more complex and the editing takes a bit longer than before but it is very stressful but at the same time i enjoy it. So there is that 🙃
@@JPsBladeworks I agree, recording and sending vieo for edit is also hard aand to do it all yourself - congratz mate
Going out to light the forge in a few minutes myself. No matter how many i make i watch videos before making my next to look for a new idea or some inspiration. Thanks for the videos!
Glad i could help
Run rabbit, run, man with big knife is coming for you! Being able to visualise the screw threads makes for a stunning visual and the different grinding levels shows off the handmade perspective of the blade. There is something tantalising about hand crafted knives.
True
Man that's gorgeous work!!!
Love that knife!!!
And you are right...
Those orange liners really make it "POP"!!!
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Another beautiful knife. Love how you aren't afraid to discuss your mistakes and how you learn, helps us too. 🐇🐰
Thanks glad you liked it 🐰🐇
Rabbit.
I sent this video to my former high school football coach. Coach is impressed. You did a great job and we like the video. We suggest maybe inlaying the JP with copper if possible. It would really set things off even more.
Im not set up for inlaying yet but i do hope to be able to do it in the future.
I remember doing some carving in wood shop class. I got a little ambitious and over cut and area. The teacher must have noticed my frustration, said A man who has never made a mistake has never made anything. I think this is particularly true and people who work in crafts and art. There are the technical things that need to be learned and the muscle memory. No amount of reading and study can develop muscle memory. You just have to do it repeatedly. You are running a business so if you can save an hour using the press, I say do it. The other thing you point out is the stress on your body. It has to stay in good shape and last you until you retire. So use PPE, and use any mechanical method you can to reduce the strain on your body. I watched a video the other day of a guy who made bearing ball Damascus, without steel powder and he nailed it. If I can find the link I will post it, the thing I noticed was he spent a huge amount of time working the canaster before opening it.
If im not mistaken Hans did the bearing balls with no powder and got a gorgeous blade from it but i think we are using different bearing balls or something because i was pretty sure the process i used shough have worked but oh well ill get it down someday or maybe ill have to get in contact with him and ask him how he did it.
That rabbit is living it's best life. Do make any frontier style knives videos. I would like to see some old style knife making.
Im not sure. I need to look into what a frontier knife is first
This guy is so honest, awesome job.
Thank you
Definitely one of my favorite looking Damascus patterns
thanks glad you liked it
Ahhh. A perfect Sunday morning. Just sat down with a freshly poured cup of coffee and received a notification of this video being available. Thank you ☕️⚒️
Thank you for watching. I need to get myself a coffee as well.
Yoooo I’m doing the same lmao
Nice job getting the billet out of the can. I’ve never seen one pull out that nicely. Usually regardless of prep, the smith needs to put in some work to get it out of there. I also love that surface grinder. Nicely made.
Thanks. I accidentally did it once so now i try to do it as often as i can. Saves lots of time on the firging process
A thing of beauty! The knife, the rabbit, all of it. I’m getting more and more into fine knives and this one is the cream.
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words about the bunny.
You see?!!!! It's getting better and better all the time you bring your new work nice 👌 work 👍
Thanks
I think this is the coolest pattern in this knife.
Thanks
I like the way that turned out. It has a transition from one side to the other. Kind of artistic
Thanks. Im glad it turned out okay
The screw pattern came out beautiful
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Cool knife! As a maker, I'm glad to see you overcome the issues with your core. It's fantastic and adds to the knife. Keep it up!
Thanks
Heck ya JP! Screw Damascus quickly becoming a favorite pattern. You’re a badass smith, making some serious waves in the community. Keep it up!
Thanks i appreciate the support!
Fantastic work. Love that pattern. I enjoy watching different forging vids. Your commentary is great. Very informative. Gives valuable insight into the process. Thank you. 😊
Thanks. Glad you liked the commentary
I like the way you have everything ready like pre painting the canister. Great job you now have a great knife.
It takes a while to make the canister so i like to prep a few to have on hand instead of having to make one every time i make a canister build.
Very nice. You did a great job with a difficult project keeping the cutting edge on center. I quite like the coffee stain. Nice bunny too
Thanks glad you liked it. Im a fan of the coffee etch as well. I heard gator piss give a real clean etch as well. Hopefully i can try that some day.
Great looking knife your steps in making the knife were clear I enjoy your teaching very much.
Glad you liked it
I watch a lot of knife forging, and really enjoy yours
Thanks i appreciate the support
watching you press your mark in the knife super very satisfying, lovely work.
Thanks.
Love the pattern! The rabbit was looking for something to slice with that blade
I think so too!
Awwe the little bunny it's so cool that you are doing all of this and using newer tools to keep you from trashing your shoulders is smart
Thanks
Absolutely top notch, professional looking knife. Indeed a rare craftsman. Cheers!
Thank you i appreciate the kind words 🙏
No better way to start the day. Absolutely love your work brother!
Thank you. I appreciate the support!
Oh man that is really cool. A really good looking bunny. I too like the orange liner and black back ground. That should do quick work of the watermelon. 🍉
Had watermelon as i was editing last night. Wont lie it did great work on the watermelon.
I love the orange with the black. I miss having rabbits around here...too many coyotes clearing them out
I havent seen any predators here for the rabbits. I did see a fox once. That was pretty cool.
Great knife and cool pattern! I use a scribe to scratch the handle outline on black micarta or dark material.
I normally do as well but for the life of me i couldnt find my scribe and i have like 4 lying around somewhere
Bro... that blade is beautiful. The photo shoot at the end with the Log Fire
thanks. glad you liked it
I want a paring knife version of this with a hot pink liner! 😂 The shape of that handle is sick! Also, I’m glad I stayed for the bunny bonus clip! lol
i need to order some hot pink liners. i bet that would look good with a black handle.
Nice touch adding in that cute little rabbit great video as always. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome looking knife as always. I think it looks really cool having the core popping more on the one side, makes it really unique almost like two different knives in one build. And cute bunny
🐇💨 thanks glad you liked it
this was a fun watch, and a beautiful blade .... great job, Sir..
thank you
Love the knife, that rabbit felt itself being watched😂
It felt the terror of the knife
TRUST IN THE PROCESS, EVENTUALLY WE'LL GET TO 1000000 SUBS. NICE BUILD BY THE WAY AND I LOVE YOUR HONESTY. FROM SOUTH AFRICA, PEACE.
Thank you. Hopefully one day but first i just want to make enough money to go full time 😅
@@JPsBladeworks YOU ARE AUTHENTIC, WE'LL GET THERE.
Outstanding knife. Very beautiful. I love it. You did a great job. ~Kevin
Thanks Kevin
Wow! That's so cool!
Glad you liked it
Love this video the knife turned out great.
thank you
Phenomenal job, your craftsmanship is excellent 👍👏🙏
Thank you
The pattern kind of looks like lost souls trapped forever in steel
Because of the faces?
@@JPsBladeworks exactly
Me fascina su honestidad.
I try to be an honesty guy.
Wouldn't make much of a stew, but I'd take it anyway.
If i could catch it
That billet came out of that can looking awesome!!!! Rad rabbit!
Thanks i tried my best. The rabbit did as well. A total natural on camera
@@JPsBladeworks I foresee that watermelon will tremble at the sight of that blade!
nice work, agree tooling makes life easier. made it to the end, cute critter
I appreciate it and yes the tools make life easier but deep down i am also a child that wants to fill his garage with toys until i cant fit anymore in. Then i want a bigger shop to continue to fill it up.
@@JPsBladeworks Absolutely nothing wrong with that idea.
We've got them all around us...great to see another recycled metal!
They are everywhere
Awesome blade, love the dinner on the hoof
Thats glad you liked it
Awesome knife and the orange pins would have been very cool... the rabbit was cool too😂
Thanks. I should order some on my next material order
Beautiful knife and cute bunny rabbit
Thank you
Well done from the heart
Thank you
"I still repeat them regardless" Hi, this is me. 🤣
Hi this is also me
First time viewer here. You did a fantastic job on that blade!! I also appreciate the voice over, which a lot of channels don't provide. Enjoy the watermelon!!
There are a couple of bunnies outside that prefer my neighbor's grass over mine... What gives??😁
Don't know. My grass is shit so i cant imagine why they like mine so much
@@JPsBladeworks 😂😂😂
As a little kid like my uncle he had a forge always watching him make certain things out of metal.
Thats cool. I bet you have some great memories.
It would be cool to see people take destroyed drills, or other tools for these kinds of builds. Just old wasted stuff that has no more purpose
I have a bunch of different sized drill bits that are used that ive been keeping for a rainy day.
Loving the look of this bad-boy.
Oh cool knife too. Rabbit joke.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
🐇💨
yes... the orange liner looks great..also it probably minimize 'vibrations' in the handle as you cut & hack on hard stuff..??..would love to own such knife..,i"m really into nasty knuckle protection integrated on the handle...US army knive style...
Nice work! I love the way the damascus pattern came out. It almost looks like tormented faces. Some HP Lovecraft stuff. :) Oh, and nice bunny.
I notice more and more faces the more i look at it
Great learning experiment! Oh, and the rabbits on our little farm actually eat dandelions, so I leave the little rascals alone.
Its not like i could catch the guy even if i tried 😂 i live in a small town with plent of woods so they roam around here a lot especially in the mornings
amazing work.
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful knife. Great video!
thanks
Cute Wabbit. The knife is fine too, but too bad it didn't turn out more similar on both sides.
it happens
The "Rorschach Blade"😎
There are many hidden faces 🤔
Very nice knife. Those screws really popped out
Thanks
that looks so cool!
Thanks
Beautiful blade right there, nice work
Thanks
It’s wabbit season 😂
🐇💨
Good eaten rabbit
Awesome work, man.
Thank you
Idk why this came across my recommendations but I'm glad it did
Me too
@@JPsBladeworks absolutely killer knife
Sad I didn't get to see that huge knife cut a juicy melon but yeah it isn't the season yet. Great vid, keep it up!
Thanks
Absolutely fantastic blade 👍👍
Thanks
Wow that is a sick looking kni
Thanks
I'm at 0 seconds into the video, and I'll just post this bad pun right away. Hope he didn't get screwed!
😅
Next, lets make screws from an old knife.
Safe to say he did not screw this blade up
Surprised you didn't say hope you don't screw up
Nailed that joke
First video I saw of yours, love the honesty and how you explain materials and what your doing it as why you’re doing it without going into extreme detail. Been wanting to try and create a knife but haven’t sent it yet. I’d love to make my own chefs knife.
Also.. the little brown rabbit is a nice too. Had to like and subscribe 🤌🏻
Go for it!
Bugs bunny looking for Elmer Fudd! Great work man. I've been wanting to get into forging however, my Harley Davidson currently takes all my funds for upgrading
I know the feels. Forging takes all my funds.
Beautiful!
Thank you
Cool knife, and a nice looking cotton tail rabbit
Thanks. I appreciate the support
Awesome looking knife.
Thanks
Ok how cute does that rabbit look. Do you see rabbits very often in your back yard ? You should leave a few carrots for your wildlife friends LOL. Really like how the way the knife came out.
They are out in the mornings and evenings
rabbit? I was waiting for watermelon. Nice work.
Thanks
It’s almost like a forged in fire challenge
nah those guys have it rough compared to me
Pretty knife! Nice rabbit as well.
Thanks. I too think it was a nice rabbit.
Look like easter morning lol beautiful work
Thanks
The pattern looks like Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Interesting
That's a wicked cool knife, thanks for the video! Also... Rabbit!
Glad you liked it and yes indeed...Rabbit!!!
Really nice knife, I like it! Bravo
Thanks
Great looking blade. Cute rabbit too. LOL
Thanks 🐇💨
that's no ordnary rabbit ! that knike looks cool
🐇💨
😂😂 the rabbit, I was expecting a watermelon slice. Dope as always homie
Thanks. I didnt have one on me at the time but i did have a rabbit 🤣
Full tang….love it…not sure why other forgers go to all the trouble and don’t do the full tang…it not only is stronger, it looks so much better.
I like to do full tang because they are easier to me but i want to do more hidden tangs to get better at them. At the moment they take me tok mich time to get the transition right
Looks like there's ghost faces all over the blade, so cool!
Yea my brother showed me some i hadnt even realized. Super cool
Cool rabbit in your back yard!
It sure is!
The rabbit was so cute
🐇💨
Absolutely awesome knife though.
Thanks
Cute little bunny rabbit at the end lol
🐇💨
Beautiful blade
Thank you
As if the finished knife wasn’t good enough you just had to go and film the rabbit for viewing pleasure 😂… nice work brother!!! 👊
Thanks. I couldnt resist the rabbits cuteness was too great for me to not share with the world 😂
