This has led to the phenomenon of "bad currency driving out good currency" in the context of economic globalization So the fundamental solution to the problem is that the United States and Western countries must exert pressure and supervise the Chinese government to improve the human rights and welfare protection of migrant workers who are Chinese farmers. The term "dependency" alone, which is now constantly heard, is ultimately silly. There is a contractual set of rules, trade relations with rules that everyone has to abide by. I think the 21st-century is going to reaffirm America's strength and importance to global stability, and foster for many nations the kind of prosperity it fostered for China.

It's funny to watch European countries talking about dependency, when Britain is so "independent" from EU, and Germany has been "independent" from their pipes lol
Well, if the problem is with the German companies pushing towards normalizing relations with China at any cost, how about giving an alternative to these companies like - I don't know - create military contracts for these companies to build the German military complex further as well as heightening their output so they can strengthen all their allies through arms sales, would that solve the issue on the short term at least? It is weird Germany would be so dependent on Chinese antibiotics. Switzerland export a lot of antibiotics to nations outside the EU, including the USA and Japan. That are also many other EU producers of antibiotics, including Italy, Ireland, Spain, Belgium and Denmark.
Europe accounts for 79% of the total global pharmaceutical exports and the entirety of Asia only accounts for 10%. Firstly, direct investments accounted for by far the largest share of German foreign assets in China in 2021, at almost 73%.
The remaining 27 percent was accounted for by securities and other investments.
Secondly, more than 96% of the total primary income of EUR 15.6 billion that flowed from China to Germany in 2021 came from direct investments. These inflows were almost exclusively income from equity capital invested in China - interest income, which is also counted as direct investment income in the statistics, was marginal.
In turn, income from equity capital in recent years consisted mainly of distributed profits (chart):
Of the €15 billion in profits that German companies generated with their equity capital in China in 2021, they distributed €8 billion to their shareholders in Germany - for example in the form of dividends.
This means that direct investments in China are proving to be more lucrative than average for Germany, as the share of corporate capital invested in China, most recently EUR 114 billion, accounts for just over 7 percent of all German direct investments abroad.

Ok, you say that Chinese cars are cheaper’cause they are subsidized by the government. BYD gonna start to produce in Brasil, costing about $18.000 euros (Dolphin) 15:36 . They are subsidized? Why a lot of people like them? Inside, they are like a big computer/entertainment space, like no American or European car can produce, that’s all technology on board for a low price car. Guys, face the reality: they are better and cheaper ’cause they developed a great product system. I’m just wondering it Henry Ford suffered the same when he introduced the Model T, cheaper than all.
Meh, the model t had limited colours lol
Why your Chancellor visits China repeatedly?
It's obvious, because the economic ties with China are so diverse that we can no longer do without China.
A reversal would mean economic ruin, which the population cannot be expected to accept.
Although I'm not so sure about that, he may have just been acting on behalf of the US and passing on nasty threats. The USA wants to sanction China, I think Germany wants to join in.
Everytime i watch geopolitical documentaries, i ask myself when will Ghana reach this level of power, i believe we will one day❤
There are consequences to being powerful. Better to be a wealthy and neutral country.
Not with our current mindset. To be a global power, like England or Germany who are leaders in sports, manufacturing and high tech we need a major shift in our thinking. We need to agree (both NPP and NDC) to put the nation first instead of our short term agenda, that will mean some sacrifices from us the citizens, like higher taxes, more political engagement through peaceful demonstrations, boycotting cheap political tactics to name a few. No one will take us serious if we keep letting everyone take us for granted, especially our political elites who to be frank are mostly clueless on important issues and the way forward. To be become like Germany or ENgland or France is certainly attainable , in terms of population we need to grow 3x, natural resources (we probably have more), human resources (we need to prioritise this and improve education and especially technical training, attract diasporans too), enabling environments for businesses to thrive (tax exemptions for capital intensive businesses in the years until profitability, no shady tax collectors harassing businesses, police only looking out for themselves).

In the 1990's I was twice on a 'Friendship' student exchange in China. Yet anyone who became too friendly with me was called into an office somewhere and warned not to become too friendly, but to use me as a tool to improve their language ability only. While I have the greatest respect and affection for the Chinese people themselves, a strand of the authorities, particularly under Xi, have points to make, many of them justified. They also grievances to be assuaged, and the world to be put back to how it is supposed to be, with China as the centre. Naivety is not an option in the current world, bets must be hedged, and even sides picked.

I think that's kind-of the point of the video, that they should find a new supply chain
Because unlike the CCP, Germany cannot control private business. This is the process of persuasion to get business leaders to make better decisions and put country over profit. In this regard I guess it would be easier to be more like China and just imprison anyone that didn’t comply to the letter with government preferences.

That sounds like such a great idea, making ourselves dependent on a volatile country. All to save money. They can't tell me they had no idea this would happen.
Indeed. We tend to blame the %1 but they are onyl delivering on what people want. Cinese goods though, espcially the cheaper options, are mostly made to fail ware. They are not made to last and will break. So it really is not worth it buying cheap cinese stuff. It is made to fail.

West ought to do everything to become independent of Taiwans microchips industry.
The machine that makes those chips are from Netherlands.
Why I say this is because of the fact that, Taiwan has placed themselves as Germany did with Russian energy.
China is absolutely Taiwans biggest trade partner with around 90% of their gdp.

This is because of the policy the PRC implemented against investors or companies who wished to established their factories in their soil. Why do you worry about the influence caused by the risk or war China against Taiwan? oh man, so many uneducated views expressed in this comment section... humanity is lost, but not necessarily because of some "greedy western countries". rather because utter stupidity when in comes to criticising capitalism. or capitalist economic strategies, like, for example, the pr china built it's massive economy on. as of today, if you buy an item in any of the countries classified as developed or developing, which are pretty much all of them except for roughly 40, chances are high you're contributing to exploitation of either human workforces or natural resources.
anyway... when looking at imports, china is the leading trade partner to some 100 nations. its probably among the top 5 worldwide. without cheap chinese products, all these - mostly still emerging - nations wouldn't be where they are right now. so why y'all blaming the west for producing in cheaper chinese facilities, when y'all benefit from the very infrastructure which grew from this western money? there is no logic. thus, there is no hope for humanity
