I normally go through these podcasts in 2-3 listens, spreading them out. But I was hooked from the get go, here. I want to look at the conversation of pilot parenting and study abroad and or boarding school for the pre-tertiary school children. Having lived abroad for over 10 years at SA, Namibia and India, I have first hand witness of the type of challenges that comes with a young one living abroad, alone. And just like Dr Rachel, I decided to to do something about it. That is why I have started a study abroad training and preparation consultancy that takes a students through a series of assessments before their journey and continues with them, creating of community and support systems during their study abroad and then transition back home (something that is often overlooked is reverse culture shock and its effect on the self)
