DCT, you're the one! I heard this on an oldies radio station today. Not the 1st time I've heard it, but today it seemed even more beautiful than before. So I looked it up on here and found this great vid. Outstanding song, singer, and how about that band?! They could teach some of the so-called "stars" of today a thing or two!

YOU"RE THE ONE was my wedding song back on May 15, 1977. The song still stands the test of time as the words are so powerfully pertinent. David Clayton's voice is class A with a lot of soul. And the sax is boss !

BS&T first album with David CT (1969)...one of my all time faves. Amazing tunes; great musicianship; great solos; David's voice perfectly suited to this band. Incidentally, Bobby Colomby (great drummer) left NYC and BST and moved to LA and became a very good record producer. VIVA Blood Sweat & Tears ! Thank you DCT

I have loved this song for over 40 years!! I have been to Jamaica, loved this reggae ending. I read his autobiography. So many of that period struggled with drugs, and the hardships that come with being in the entertainment industry

Autorom tejto piesne bol David Clayton Thomas spoločne s W.D. Smithom, ktorý s nim vytvoril ešte pieseň Hollywood a They na album MORE THAN EVER. Album bol pomenovaný podľa časti inej úžasnej skladby z albumu I Love You More Than Ever. Samotný album bol v rebríčku Billboardu tri týždne od 31. júla 1976 a skončil na 165.m.Sprievodným vokálom sa v tejto piesni a na albume podielali Patti Austin, Gwendolyn Guthrie žial už nie je žívá, Yolanda McCullough a Vivian Cherry.Zostava skupiny, ktorá album nahrala bola rozdielna. Tvorili ju okrem speváka Colomby Stern, Alias, Willis, Trifan, Klatka Buchtel, Bargeron a Tillman a 13 hosťujúcich hudobníkov ako Bob James, Hugh McCracken,Marvin Stamm alebo Jon Faddis. Na tomto zázname koncertu v Sun Valley v Idaho z roku 1981 bola zmenená zostava aj v porovnaní s tou, ktorá nahrala posledný album skupiny NUCLEAR BLUES z roku 1980.Z tejto zostavy boli v skupine Earl Seymour baryton saxofon, Vernon Dorge alt saxofon a Bobby Economou bicie. Novými členmi boli Peter Harris gitara, Wayne Pedziwiatr basová gitara, Lou Pomanti klavesy a Mic Gilette trubka bývalý člen skupiny Tower Of Power.

No, it's Bobby Economou, as it says here. Colomby had already stopped playing drums for BS&T by this time.
