A fortunate collision of talent: One of the best poet lyricist of our age and, a congregation of of talented improvisational musicians with a soulful lead singer who really knew how to sell a song to an audience.
This is one of the greatest moments in music history regarding live performances. This version of when I die is probably one of the most exciting and stirring moments I have ever experienced watching any music of any genre...... these guys at this moment in their career captured true magic in the bottle. I'm grateful that this was captured for future generations to enjoy and be moved because modern music certainly doesn't move anything, with a few exceptions.
What an outstanding live recording of B.S.T. David Clayton-Thomas is phenomenal. His care free, amazing focus lives on in October 23 2024! And what a great band. Sounds timeless, with an incredible recording , with great sound!✌️
Hell yeah, loved some BS&T and David Clayton Thomas, one helluva voice! You need to show more of the old classic rock reelin in the years! How bout some Rare Earth or bands like that, even some old MOTOWN!
I had the good fortune of seeing them in Lubbock, TX during my freshman year at Texas Tech in 1971. On one number, they pulled out a tuba and was hitting 16th notes! DCT also showed his prowess on the Telecaster. Amazing show! I don't think that I've seen anything better since.
What are Blood Sweat & Tears musically? Blues, and jazz, and some other musical influences in there. David Clayton Thomas is such a powerful vocalist. He has so much power and emotion. Cheers! ✌️
I recall this song, and more by “Blood Sweat and Tears” and this song hits home with me, and it has been with me for decades, but not as a idol, just words to express how I feel, especially now.
No one sings like that anymore! Someone in this world needs to carry on with the tradition . I’m sure the sideburns would be a necessary part of this tradition
In Crosstown Traffic, an otherwise interesting book about Hendrix and jazz rock by the journalist Charles Shaar Murray, he has some rather negative things to say about BST and the vocalist in particular. A peculiar reaction, I thought. For me, they were nothing short of sensational in every aspect.
With all the groups selling their songs, some of that money should go to new record labels for the next generation of singers and bands. Thats how they were able to be who they are.

But technically astute ... In the pocket of everything!

This song was Bruce Lee's favorite song.
He must have been watching and listening to this great group in real time at the time!
This songs sounds exactly like the 2nd BS&T LPs...young clayton thomas a gifted singer with a talented musicians
Jazz oriented ..
David Clayton Thomas sang in the yard when he was locked up for a bit early 1960s...Guard was quoted in a bio..."that boy could sing"

David Clayton Thomas is a Canadian LEGEND.
IMHO David Clayton-Thomas is one of the most amazing singers in history. A voice for the ages.
What a band that was. The brass section, harmonica player, drummer, EVERYONE was musically the best of the best.
@@kn-qz7by exactly, a test of a band is that they reproduced their studio recorded material live, these guys were on mark.
It makes me smile just listening to them. Fantastic group!

I just recently learned that "Rare Earth" was signed on the Motown Label!!!
@@bernardowens1648 - yeah man, they sure were, Barry Gordy new those white boys had some soul in them, and a little funk. Loved some Rare Earth!
I really liked them back then and they still sound great. He has great vocals and the the bands great.
Saw them in concert in 1970 at Indiana State, they were very good.
Very under rated, Blood Sweat and Tears.
1965 - 1975 .. the sweet spot
Yup. His early song 'Brainwashed' is a garage rock masterpiece.
...now that's music, my friends!
Aber zu 100% die besten...
Amazing. I've seen these guys in concert. Just incredible

Beyond awesome --- thank you , thank you, ReeliniIn the Years
No school like the Old School.

Jerry Fisher’s voice is just so AMAZING!!🫶🏻
excellent. Makes me cry
In early teens I would learn entire albums by ear. BS&T 2nd was quite the education.
So amazing! So very touched!

I love 60’s & 70’s Music 🥺🤘
I saw BST in a free concert in the park. Most people left after their pop hits. My wife and I stayed tell the end of the set.
Sencillamente extraordinario!!!!
Mucha muchas gracias.
Grandes precursores de las bandas con metales. David extraordinario!!!!
That was awesome.Teddy's song he use to sing to me.
So Good !!
BS&T was excellent mood music to a teenager growing up in the late 1960s. Their music was 'inspiring' to many teenage girls of the same era.
From my preteen years!! Love this!!
Wow! qué bandota, Los amo.
Love this so awesome
Now...that was a trade mark voice irreplaceable
And when i die too. R.I.P. David

David Clayton Thomas - THE VERY BEST
In Crosstown Traffic, an otherwise interesting book about Hendrix and jazz rock by the journalist Charles Shaar Murray, he has some rather negative things to say about BST and the vocalist in particular. A peculiar reaction, I thought.
For me, they were nothing short of sensational in every aspect.
Pity the sound wasn't mixed better. Lead singer needs more volume....
Bobby Colomby (drummer, bandleader!)
These two numbers, particularly, they took such OWNERSHIP of. Covers but that you associate specifically with BS&T.
🥳😘🎵🎶🎷👏👏👏
That is the most excited that Canadians get - rock on?
With all the groups selling their songs, some of that money should go to new record labels for the next generation of singers and bands. Thats how they were able to be who they are.
Laura Nyro
2024 ❤
Who plays like this today ? Anybody ?
it was laura nyro's song but all credit to BST or I would never have heard it.
why isn't DCT in the conversation of great rock vocalists? He should be.
👁️👁️😍
