    I’m a gsxr owner for the past 5 years, and this bike is my daily commuter to work. I chose the base model over the R because in my experience in the base model’s suspension is more road oriented than the track. I believe that the gixxer is the only sports bike, after the S1000rr that you can ride on the road for longer duration. Reliability has been no issue for me. The only thing that I do in this bike is basic maintenance. If Suzuki scraps this bike, it will certainly be missed. Every motorcycle lover is a gixxer admirer.

      @@richardcerritelli9657 there is a standard 1000 and the 1000r. There is about a $2500 difference in price due to the suspension, steel braided brake lines, different dash, front led's, advanced abs etc on the R model. I went with the R when I bought my 2023. Felt the features justified the price difference and love the bike.

    Suzuki deserves so much more respect. Who cares if it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles something like a S1000RR can have. They’re seriously overkill at this point. They seem so good on paper but when you’re actually riding most of them really aren’t necessary. I think Suzuki makes an awesome bike which they have successfully been pushing for years now. Every true rider knows that Suzuki is one of the real legends.

      @@MotoJournoKris Unfortunately the "nanny state" of Australia has destroyed sales of 1 litre sportbikes. I took my final road road in Late 2019. Even 600cc sportbikes are now out of the question. A race track is the only sensible option as we move forward. Now aged 63, I can still have a blast without getting any ridiculous traffic penalties or fines. I'd avoided the track days for decades thinking it too restrictive and controlled, however given the current state of stupidity there has never been a better time to take all bikes off the roads and onto road or MX tracks. I'm pulling near on 300KMH on the straights on road circuits and almost 150KMH on dirt tracks. All of it legal and incredibly satisfying!

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theaustralianconundrum Yep, it's a pretty sad really and I think many things will be banned, or regulated out of existence before people properly take note and push back. Although the track and dirt tracks are great alternatives for now. Sound complaints seem a big issue for their continued existence however.

    • @theaustralianconundrum
      @theaustralianconundrum 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotoJournoKris Totally agree. I have never found a need to replace the factory designed exhaust/muffler systems that produce 195 BHP and throw on an exhaust/muffler that is 10 times louder for a 5 BHP gain. I call them wankers who engage in this activity. No offence. But we WILL see everything fast and furious taken off "public" access roads purely for litigation and insurance and government liability matters. If this happens? Does not bother me one iota. I LOVE the freedom of private land and tracks any day over the Nazi Greenie stupidity we now are subjected to. Cheers man!

      There's actually ride-by-wire, and VVT, plus most of the expected electronics, but I'd tend to agree they are the least inspired of the manufacturers overall. Whether supersport/superbike machinery really deserves any updates or R&D, or whether that money and time would be spent better literally anywhere else is a big question these days.

    • @MotoJournoKris
