I recently got Turkish Delight ones at the Reject Shop!

Haha, reminds me of my first days in England, when I was LOST in the supermarkets because I would not recognise any product (beside vegs) ! I spent an hour and half wandering in an Asda and ended up buying some Coke and Walker crips because it was the only brands I was able to recognise. But after a while, I got used, and the thing I got hook up to, in the UK, are... jacket potatoes. Yeah, such a simple thing, but so convenient and good ! I'm wondering why I've never seen such a thing in France. Might need to come back in France and make a jacket potatoe business ! Root beers also are not in my home country, I tried it in the UK and now it's my daily drink ! By the way, your "French Fancies" are not found in France outside of bakeries. I'm amazed how much "French xxxxx" you can find in the UK that I've NEVER seen in my home country. I got really deceived some times, haha.
You should do a Scottish food one ^^ Irn Bru, Tablet, Fudge, Shortbread, these are all things I've sent away to many of my American friends and they've loved ^^
I live in America, but I spent some time in the UK. The thing i missed the most was the Flake! I recently made a friend that lives in Scotland and he sent be a box of Flake! It is amazing!
Here in New Zealand, we call the teacakes 'Mallowpuffs' and yes they are awesome! You can get them in different flavours, double chocolate, caramel, white chocolate and they also come in large sizes. Very addictive!
Barry Lewis The saying being, 'Have you done enough for a Mallowpuff?' Some people bash them against their forehead to break the chocolate. I wouldn't suggest trying this. It hurts. Though breaking the chocolate in other ways can be quite fun. Like against a tabletop or something.
All the chocolate biscuit brands in Australia do their version, most people here would recognise them as a knock off of Arnott's Chocolate Royals. Also get sherbet-dipping lollipop things. Popping candy is hardly obscure or British. Same for Cadbury's, and I actually live in the city home to Australia's Cadbury's factory.
I live in Ireland and the only thing I've never had was the twiglets and they look real good! I love your channel and I enjoyed watching this video so much!!!!
I agree about the cadburry chocolate. I went to Ireland for honeymoon and we brought back a giant cadburry bar and it is nothing like the stuff in North Carolina. Although if you can find any it's usually those gross cream filled eggs around Easter
we use to have flying saucers when I was a kid, but instead of the powder there were tiny hard candy balls inside... :D use to let the wafer part melt on my tongue and crunch the candies.
Yeah they are so good, im from scotland so i get to have these regularly! Btw alot of scots are quite rough, especially the children. So dont mess with a scottish highschooler. But the majority of us are nice, if you r from england or wales or n ireland or whatever. Or maybe you are a fellow scot. Sorry i wnt off topic, im a little wierd. But why werent they on the list?
I prefer the stick After 8's, as opposed to the squares. Also, those tea cakes remind me of Wagon Wheels, except those have thinner marshmallow, and they have jam in them as well. That reminds me of my childhood.
The twiglets look like pretzel sticks with spices on them. We have After Eight mints in the US. The teacakes look like our Mallowmars (yum!!). I love all the different crisp flavors you guys have, they're so yummy. (I tried the bacon Tatos and OMG!!!) Not sure if we have the Fondent Fancies here, but you can go to a bakery and get petit fours (dude! potty mouth) :( Love Hearts look like our SweetTarts We used to have something like the dibdab but I think they're gone Flying Saucers are completely new to me Poppin Candy is our Pop Rocks We don't have the range of Cadbury choc you guys have. I've only seen the cream eggs, the Dairy, the Caramel and the Nuts/Raisins. Sorry I did NOT like the Flake when I bought it in Ireland.. the texture was too odd for me
Nice :) And after eights can be found in airports in other countries. Found it in India but for 3 times the price :O And yes cadburys is in India too but it is completely different.
The only treats that I see regularly here (Sweden) out of those are the After Eights (sooo goood) and the sorcers. My favourite sweets are called Polly, tiny vanilla- arak- or toffee flavoured marshmellowlike foam covered in chocolate^^
(writing in english now) hi, i'm from sweden too! but haven't you seen flying soucers? (flygande tefat) the packaging isn't the same at all but we have them! ate it a lot when i was a kid! ^^
In Sweden we have almost all of those treats :) They are of course named differently and MAY differ a bit. The twigs are for instance called "Finska Pinnar" and though very similar to your twigs, they are not covered in spices, other than salt. We swedes love our salt ;)
Yeah, that's probably more like it.. But they are straight and snappy like those twigs you got. My dream is to travel the world trying out different kinds of food. Would be fun to collect/document the treats so you could see thr similarities and differences :) you up for it?
Mate you are brilliant at selling these products- I live in Scotland and have seen/tasted every single item you brought up, but you are making me want to go and buy them all again for some reason. You should get paid for this :)
When you eat a Flake you are meant to completely open the wrapping so you can pick up the larger pieces and then fold the wrapper in half long ways and tip the crumbs into your mouth...☺😉 Or maybe grab a Twirl next time, it has a thin safety layer of chocolate all the way around, great for when you're travelling, driving, or simply don't have the chance to open onto a table etc...☺😉😘
I live in England and have never seen those Fondant cakes. I've had other Mr Kipling exceepingly good cakes but never heard of the fondant cake until Barry made a giant version of it.
What a fun video and you are soooo right about Cadbury choc, it is the best in the UK but, living so close to southern Ireland I have to say, I dont know what it is but its sooo much creamier than ours at home, its gorgeous!!! My naughty treat is a Cadbury flake ... a full one (dont judge..lol) placed in a big mug of hot choccie and melt into it as drinking it .... divine! Oh cant wait for the giant Tunnock Teacake...a box at Christmas is always my treat! :)
In the US we have Fun Dip it's a hard candy you lick and dip into flavored sugars (your sherbet). And our French fancy tea cakes are called petit fours and usually have to buy them special from a cake shop.
Oh my God thank you. I'm a Brit living in the US and the "cadbury's" here is not Cadbury's. I love getting my friends to try the real thing when I bring it back from the UK and they're always so surprised, and love ours better.
That R.Kelly reference was amazingly hilarious! Those fondant fancies looks delicious! Wish I could go to my local super market and get some, but I don't think we have them in the states (or at least not around me)
Cool! I love hanging around in food stores when I´m abroad. There´s always a lot of stuff to look at, drives my wife crazy as I can easily spend 2 hours shopping just basics.
Tunnock's Tea Cakes remind me of Moon Pies. They are similar. Moon Pies have a wafer both top and bottom, marshmallow in the middle, and covered with milk chocolate. Probably not near as good. They keep FOREVER though! :)
love this video - love em all apart from Twiglets. With flakes i used to squash them up in the packet, tear off the top n pour the whole lot into my mouth so i didn't have any wastage :) Dolly Mixtures are yummy too xxx
For something like dipdab in the states we have Fun Dip, which comes in a strip of paper wrapping usually with four different packets in a row. It comes with two compressed "sherbet" sticks and three different flavors of dipping powder (which always leads to conflicts when you are a kid!) and I used to love it when I was a kid, now I'd probably take one taste and go "welp that's enough sugar for me!"
Hey Baz, new subscriber here! Love your channel, you're very entertaining! I'm Australian and I've been able to find the majority of these goodies here in Sydney! I've tried at least six of those! My local supermarkets now have a small range of UK items and there are also specialty stores called The UK Lolly Shop and few other import stores in the CBD. Dip dabs are made by Barratt who also make Sherbet Fountains! I absolutely love them! Who knew that sherbet and black licorice go together?! Considering Australia's British heritage a lot of British lollies became popular here with older generations. You can still find Humbugs, Liverpool Rock and loads of gummy lollies but mainly in special import stores, and it's usually expensive per 100 grams (what isn't expensive here!) Sherbet UFO'S are still a classic with anyone over the age of 21 or so, many young kids are just fussy! They are getting a little hard to find though :( We get popping candy here, usually it's the American Pop Rocks or other cheap local brands or imports. I love Popping Candy in Chocolate! Australian Cadbury have this new Chocolate bar/block line called Marvelous Creations which is Dairy Milk Chocolate with different lolly/candy combinations embedded (Peanut Toffee Cookie, Jelly Crunchie Bits or Jelly Popping Candy Beanies are the main flavors) So Yum! They recently had a Jelly Popping Candy Beanies Chocolate Bunny for Easter! Have you ever tried Australian Cadbury Chocolate? I hope you know that each countries recipe is tweaked for local tastes! Just like Milo is! Love Hearts usually come out around Halloween (which is becoming more popular here now) in half size rolls and are usually in party bags with 3 different flavors of mini Refreshers, Fruit Salad lollipops, those hard round sherbet lollipops and Parma Violets. Parma Violets remind me of our Musk Sticks. Tastes like perfume!
Oh, I forgot to ad to my comment that we have a limited edition Mint Flake available in supermarkets at the moment, and the Refreshers in the party packs are the pink, blue and yellow chew bars and there's also Drumstick lollipops in there too!
We have flying saucer candies in the US. Or at least we did. Haven't seen them in a while but I'm sure they're still around. My grandmother used to get them for me at a candy stand in a local mall all the time when I was a kid. I've seen them since, but not often.
I think After Eights are called that because they are suppose to be used as a posh after dinner sweet. The catering industry buy these in big 800g packs for restaurants, curry houses and whatnot.
I need to find a way to try all of these. They all sound so tasty! I especially want to try the bacon chips (crisps). Mmm! I would love to go all over world and try some tasty treats in each country! (Ethiopian food is amazing! I have got to experience that, and it's WOW, it's good.)
Popping candy - also known as Fizz Wizz in the UK and in the 80s it was called Jumping Jupiters in NZ - I remember it was taken OFF the market in NZ due to some kind of 'health risk' - something to do with an ingrediant.
In Poland we got After Eight as well and we have this third thing (with marshmallow filling) but there is a waffle at bottom, not biscuit and the chocolate layer can be dark, milk or white :)
we have those tea cakes in germany too but they are much bigger and have many different kinds of chocolate around it. We call them mohrenkopf. You have to try them when you're in germany someday.
In Norway we can get Jaffa Cakes (different brand, but still the same), love hearts, After eight, flying saucers, and a simmilar thing to the dib dabs (I think) it's called Double dip and instead of the lolly it's a "swizzelstick" and the dip is ornage and cherry flavoured. bought it almost every weekend when I was a kid.
I'm from America and a lot of these are similar to a lot of American candy. After eights are like York peppermint patties, piping candy is like pop rocks, the marshmallow things are called pinwheels, the Herat candy is like sweettarts, and the lollipops with sugar are like Dips
We do have genuine flakes and those tea cakes at World Market stores and I love them so much! We also have pop rocks and other things that could be equivalents of most of those goodies...except the saucers...I want that...
I used to love frisps, oh and discos!!! Do any of these crisps still exist?!? You cant beat a good 10pence mix up, i didnt like the little white mice but i loved it when they used to put little black jacks or fruit salads in them ❤️
MyVirginKitchen *That*, my dear, is a "thin mint" cookie. A York peppermint patty is an incredible dark chocolate disk filled with a super-minty cream. They're a lot thicker than the After 8s though, because that's how we Americans roll.
when i was younger and saw an ice cream van, i ALWAYS took one with a flake. now i do it because of melancholia. huess i can never get away from these guys, haha
Yeah!! Cadbury chocolates tastes weird where I'm from. That's why I buy After Eight chocs. Still have some in my fridge.. Minty goodness in the morning!!!
I love Hit biscuits. You can get them at Kroger (an American grocery chain) in the ethnic foods isle. I like them because the filling is really sweet, but the cookie isn't, so it's a nice balance compared with American cookies which both parts are super sweet.
In Germany After Eights are actually pretty well known and I just love them
I recently got Turkish Delight ones at the Reject Shop!

The Hunters Wife Glad to see another NZer.
We have love hearts here in Australia too. We also have a few types of dipping sherbet lolly things, like the DibDab.
This is why i love living in the uk
Indeed we're pretty good in the treats department
I agree , But Polish sweets...are really good and some homemade ^o^
There's Cadbury chocolate in Australia and I've been to the UK and it tasted the same as Australia's. SO GOOD!
Take the fondant Fancy, Take it, Take it.. Take it! TAKE IT! TAKE THE GODDAMN FONDANT FANCY BUAHAHAHH XDDDDDDD
I live in Ireland and the only thing I've never had was the twiglets and they look real good! I love your channel and I enjoyed watching this video so much!!!!
Please make a giant tunnock's tea cake! I love them!
I agree about the cadburry chocolate. I went to Ireland for honeymoon and we brought back a giant cadburry bar and it is nothing like the stuff in North Carolina. Although if you can find any it's usually those gross cream filled eggs around Easter
British sweets are 100% the best
I live in Great Britain and had all of these and i just love love hearts. They're so nice!
we use to have flying saucers when I was a kid, but instead of the powder there were tiny hard candy balls inside... :D use to let the wafer part melt on my tongue and crunch the candies.
Rainbow drops are amazing!!! Also, my dad adores sherbet fountains! Proper British classic that one!
hahaha yeah really is
Erm Wagon Wheels, crunchie, curly wurly, aeros, wispa, double decker ???
+kiloman3 Yes but the Cadbury chocolate you get there isnt a patch on the uk or ireland Cadburys.
Lee Springy all these snacks in this video are British
Yeah they are so good, im from scotland so i get to have these regularly! Btw alot of scots are quite rough, especially the children. So dont mess with a scottish highschooler. We used to have something like the dibdab but I think they're gone

Poppin Candy is our Pop Rocks
We don't have the range of Cadbury choc you guys have. I've only seen the cream eggs, the Dairy, the Caramel and the Nuts/Raisins. Sorry I did NOT like the Flake when I bought it in Ireland.. the texture was too odd for me
Love Hearts are like our American Conversation Hearts, and the Dipdab candy kind of reminds me a bit of Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip.
I grew up eating after eights around Christmas. I'm in America! Love those mints!
good call ashley
Nice :) And after eights can be found in airports in other countries. Found it in India but for 3 times the price :O And yes cadburys is in India too but it is completely different.
3 times wow!
Barry Lewis inspired by your video:
Traditional British sweets - Becca C
You can buy them in the supermarket in the netherlands but i hate them..
Romania have after eight too! It's amazing! And so delicious!

toffee flavoured marshmallow covered in chocolate? oh my
Hi Justin! Yes I have seen them! I did mention them as ''the sorcers''.. I realize I spelled it wrong now, so my bad if you didn't notice :)
If I had the chance, it would be fun to send some Swedish treats for you to try out, Barry :P
Cheers that'd be awesome, message me if you fancy doing that
In Sweden we have almost all of those treats :) They are of course named differently and MAY differ a bit. The twigs are for instance called "Finska Pinnar" and though very similar to your twigs, they are not covered in spices, other than salt. We swedes love our salt ;)
Wow I couldn't imagine twiglets with just salt on like that, is it more like a pretzel!? This is why I like the World of food
Yeah, that's probably more like it.. But they are straight and snappy like those twigs you got. My dream is to travel the world trying out different kinds of food. Would be fun to collect/document the treats so you could see thr similarities and differences :) you up for it?
EmmaSofiaChannel That's a cool idea indeedy, I may have a big online ordering session getting some stuff from around the World! Good times
Lol I can get these all in my country!!! Hahahaha I'm from Britain tho... Lol
Awesome
Lol
Is it really possible to get British Treats from Britain?!?!?
No... I don't think so... 😂😂👌👌
Ryan Jones

This was fun! I would love to see a part 2 :-)
Cheers i'll def do a part 2
I don't know if the Cadbury Flake here in Canada is the same as yours, but I've had one before, and I absolutely LOVE IT. Now I want one...
Very fun! :)
thankyou
All of these treats i love. They're just so addictive. I've had popping candy in chocolate. Has anyone else had that? If not try it, it's really nice.

I LOVE AFTER EIGHTS SOOOOO MUCH!!!! When I buy them I can't just have one! 😎😍
we have all those lollies here except fondant fancies
I drive my friends nuts looking at all the new stuff in the supermarket. Just posted a video about it also. Keep up the great work I love your videos.
Americans call Pop-in candy's Pop Rock's😀
Popping not pop in
+unfound pearl
Also Rocks, not Rock's
What a fun video and you are soooo right about Cadbury choc, it is the best in the UK but, living so close to southern Ireland I have to say, I dont know what it is but its sooo much creamier than ours at home, its gorgeous!!! Agree with you with the dunking!! Thanks a bunch
Isn't it always after 8?
It's always eight o'clock somewhere.

DO A GAINT FLAKE PLEASE like if u agree
In the US we have Fun Dip it's a hard candy you lick and dip into flavored sugars (your sherbet). And our French fancy tea cakes are called petit fours and usually have to buy them special from a cake shop.
Twiglets are evil, pure evil.
Not sure but Twig let's seem to be our pretzels.
After Eights!!! I remember those when I stayed in Yorkshire with friends for 2 months
Jelly babies !!!

You guys should try and make a giant clinker or crunchie. That'd be soo cool

Oh my God thank you. I'm a Brit living in the US and the "cadbury's" here is not Cadbury's. I love getting my friends to try the real thing when I bring it back from the UK and they're always so surprised, and love ours better.
We have pretty much all that stuff in America, it is just under different names.
its not the same then
Missy Cabic I've never seen anything like the flying saucers
Mary Vargo I saw them at a store near me called Bulk Nation. That's the only place I've ever seen them, though.
Missy Cabic just because they have a different name doesnt mean there American though
That R.Kelly reference was amazingly hilarious!
Those fondant fancies looks delicious! Wish I could go to my local super market and get some, but I don't think we have them in the states (or at least not around me)
hmmm Quite easy to make, maybe i'll make some!
Flying saucers are disgusting. Its like eating cardboard. That would be my recommendation of "not to try".
Fancy seeing you here Daniel ;)
Brandon Cummings ;)
Ahhhh, yummy, they're called After Dinner Mints in Australia so that could explain the After Eight label...☺😉
Cool! I love hanging around in food stores when I´m abroad. There´s always a lot of stuff to look at, drives my wife crazy as I can easily spend 2 hours shopping just basics.
mad isn't it lol
Tunnock's Tea Cakes remind me of Moon Pies. They are similar. Moon Pies have a wafer both top and bottom, marshmallow in the middle, and covered with milk chocolate. Probably not near as good. They keep FOREVER though! :)

Dolly mixtures!!!! oh my yes!
Great flake technique there too
The popping candy is just like Pop Rocks here in the states. :) Used to love that stuff as a kid.
Pop rocks - in every sense!
After Eights are the only chocolate mint I like. The mint creme is thin and the dark chocolate compliments it wonderfully.
I love after eight, my favourite chocolate, it's so mint and good, so as galaxy!
For something like dipdab in the states we have Fun Dip, which comes in a strip of paper wrapping usually with four different packets in a row. We have all of them in ireland my Fav is after eights.love them
Terry's Chocolate Orange is Amazing!!! The shape of heaven!
We have After Eights in the States here- HUGE with the Caribbean community here. Also, there is an American equivalent called Frango's! Great times!
Frango's cool name!
I need to find a way to try all of these. They all sound so tasty! I especially want to try the bacon chips (crisps). Mmm! I would love to go all over world and try some tasty treats in each country! (Ethiopian food is amazing! I have got to experience that, and it's WOW, it's good.)
don't order dogs in china I think its horrible that they eat them unless your chinease whatever floats your boat I guess
the flying saucers are AMAZING
After Eight is well known and available all year round here in Germany also.
Nice good times!
Sounds good!
Pickled onion monster munch are amazing omg
haha yeah
Loved flying saucers when I was a kid yum yum
in america we have fun dip, its similar to dip dabs except vanilla with flavored sugar and its a stick instead of a lollypop
sounds cool
we have those tea cakes in germany too but they are much bigger and have many different kinds of chocolate around it. We call them mohrenkopf. You have to try them when you're in germany someday.
In Norway we can get Jaffa Cakes (different brand, but still the same), love hearts, After eight, flying saucers, and a simmilar thing to the dib dabs (I think) it's called Double dip and instead of the lolly it's a "swizzelstick" and the dip is ornage and cherry flavoured. bought it almost every weekend when I was a kid.
nice!
THE TEA CAKES LOOK AMAZING
Nearly cried when you ate the fondant fancie, live in italy and can't find any! TOO YUM! :)
Oh no, maybe order some online!
Should be able to order the saucers online I reckon!
Sterling work Barry, your videos just get better :) loving the edit gags!
Thanks much appreciated
In from England all of these things are just amazing
I'm from northern Ireland ... still part of the uk, you need to try bpm juice ! There is green and red, I prefer red but try both ! Worth it.
I used to love frisps, oh and discos!!! Do any of these crisps still exist?!? You cant beat a good 10pence mix up, i didnt like the little white mice but i loved it when they used to put little black jacks or fruit salads in them ❤️
Frisps oh wow!!! lol discos are one of my faves too can def still get those
In the US we have Fun Dip, York peppermint paddies, and Pop Rocks which are the equivalent of what you have.
Sounds good! I've had some girl scout peppermint patties
MyVirginKitchen *That*, my dear, is a "thin mint" cookie. A York peppermint patty is an incredible dark chocolate disk filled with a super-minty cream. They're a lot thicker than the After 8s though, because that's how we Americans roll.
We have After Eights as well.
When I lived in the UK, our favorite off the ice cream truck was a 99…awesome!!!!
I love After Eight and i live in germany and i can buy them when ever i want
I love supermarkets abroad as well as you:) Now Britain is my "market goal". I would like to try some of your products:)
when i was younger and saw an ice cream van, i ALWAYS took one with a flake. now i do it because of melancholia. huess i can never get away from these guys, haha
I know and love all of these treats.
Tunnocks Teacakes are vegetarian too, one of the few marshmallowy things that are. Love em
We have sorbet too, but, it usually costs a good bit more.
Yeah!! Cadbury chocolates tastes weird where I'm from. That's why I buy After Eight chocs. Still have some in my fridge.. Minty goodness in the morning!!!
haha yeah it's a pretty strong mint in there!
I love Hit biscuits. You can get them at Kroger (an American grocery chain) in the ethnic foods isle. I like them because the filling is really sweet, but the cookie isn't, so it's a nice balance compared with American cookies which both parts are super sweet.
My gran ALWAYS had fondant fancies for me when I went round, and I can eat a whole big bag of twiglets in one go!
I loved snowflake. White chocolate flake with a milk chocolate coating to was so nice wish they would bring them back :(
After Eights are one of my fav sweets!! 😋😋
oh god monster munch and just sitting around is the best feeling and im so addicted to bacon crispies
