    So, in case you guys are curious:
    In America, Wotsits are Cheetos. Cheetos can be giant and poofy or small and crunchy.
    Wagon Wheels are Moon Pies (although Moon Pies are noticeably larger and, again, come in different varieties such as vanilla and strawberry).
    We don't have anything equal to Caramac, surprisingly.
    Dipdab is called FunDip and instead of a lolly, comes with a stick of pure sugar.
    Maltesers are called Whoppers.
    Also in America we have (or used to have, not sure if they're a thing anymore) something called Nerds Rope which was basically a long gummy rope covered in Nerds.

    • @InfamousJJ420
      @InfamousJJ420 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nerds Ropes definitely still exist. Everything Wonka is sugary, tangy, goodness.

      We do get Cheetos here, though they seem to usually be Polish imports.

      It seems that a Moon Pie (in the US) is basically a Wagon Wheel formulated to never go stale by virtue of being that exact balance point between cake and biscuit - can't go harder or softer.

    Ashens somehow reminds me of the sane version of John Simms's Master character. Funnily enough, Ashens has some bit of seemingly delicious, villainous nuances and looks (which of course isn't true) who mirrors closer to the classic Master incarnations than John's.

    That's actually Soviet Army chemical corps. private's dress/furlough uniform jacket.
    The lack of any rank indication at all on the shoulder tabs say it's a private's jacket. The red shoulder tab and "СА" (abbreviation of "Советская Армия", i.e. Sovietskaya Armiya) say it's Soviet Army. The sleeve badge is for the Chemical Troops. And the the jacket design is that for the dress uniform/furlough uniform.

    The problem with curly wurlys for me was that I couldn't keep in the fridge as they froze way too quickly so you ended up with a crumbly frozen chocolate bar with holes in it. So instead of putting them in the fridge and waiting until I was ready for it. I had to literally take it out an hour before I was ready or thought I was ready and by then it was either melted and went in the bin or it was still hard and had to be eaten. So instead I bought chomps.

    i remember these sweets from way back.loved nerds cos you had 3 different holes in the box which compartmentalized them.
    i used to get them all the time from the local newsagent, round the corner from my granddads, would have been circa 1991 (Cheshire England). used to spend every Friday night over at my Nan and granddads growing up. used to go round to the newsagents with my granddad and buy nerds, opal fruits and the like and head back i would play mariokart on my SNES which i always brought with me from home and play it on a tiny black and white CRT TV my grandparents had upstairs. then watching knightmare, the crystal maze, you bet, noels house party or whatever on tv and my grandad used to let me stay up and watch red dwarf and the late night film ( i remember watching "communion" with chrisopher walken and it grabbed my imagination big time :-3). sweet sweet memories. anyhow. you could get nerds back then at least in my neck of the woods. god thinking about this is bringing back memories, there were the computer games shows like gamesmaster and bad influence.i can remember them hyping the megacd addon for the sega mega drive and basically saying that the graphics will be indistinguishable from reality. hmmmmm. pretty exiting claim to lay on an 8 year old but still....sigh...

    Re the seasoning, if anybody remembers philleas fogg tortilla chips: get some plain tortilla chips, shake in garlic powder, chilli powder, paprika powder and black pepper and then shake the bag violently. You're very welcome.

    I read somewhere (I think it may have been in SFX magazine) that when they made the TV show _Life On Mars_ they had a scene where they were eating Curly-Wurlys, using original wrappers from 1973 (borrowed from a collector) and 2006 Curly-wurly bars. It was apparent how much smaller the new bars were in comparison to the old wrappers.
