For the backlighting on the DD lights, don't use an aux switch if you have the aux switches from the factory. In the interior aux wire bundle by the glove box they provide a switched via ignition, as well as a direct to battery, 10A power wire. Ignition is the pink/orange wire, direct to battery is red/white. Fuses are F50 and F72 respectively. This of course is 18-23 MY, not sure if they changed that on the 24's.
Great Video, Question: the front rear locker and sway bar switch for Ryan's Jeep, does he have electrical hookups for this or are you just filling the gap with a stock-looking switch but will be assigning the functions to lights or other electrical devices. I have a 2024 Wrangler Sport S and was curious if that functionality is included but not connected I hope my question makes sense Thanks again for all the great video content, wish you two success!
Hi, I got a 2033 rubicon 4 door, love it. Been watching your channel for a while and like the advice you give. The thing I would love to improve on the jeep is the turbo lag I think or it might be throttle response, not sure but it’s a bit annoying when there is a pause before it kicks in. What would you advise? Appreciate any help at all.
Hey Matt I have a 23 Mojave with the aux group but I want to add the front locker using the rubicon switch besides the locker itself do I need anything else other then the factory rubicon switch and Tazer mini from Z automotives ?
Another advantage to the silicone wedding ring I've been wearing for over ten years now. It also eliminates the possibility of "sleeving" my finger when climbing up and down my the helicopter.
@@michaelscheller6884 yeah man! You got it. Anyone working around anything electrical or climbing on equipment should not be wearing a metallic wedding ring.
Nice find. I am assuming that this is just turning the locker switches into AUX 5, 6, 7, 8 and you would be able to lock the rear (in your example) in 2WD or at high speed. If so, what would you suggest to add a safety step to ensure lockers are accessible off road. Other aftermarket switch banks have a "power" or "lock-out" button so there are two steps to get the lockers active. Been looking at this for a 2018 sport (no power windows)
Since we're on this topic, if say the safety package wasn't intially part of your vehicle, can it be installed after the fact? I.e. park assist and such.
Does it make sense to acquire this if I have factory auxiliary switches but no factory lockers, and I wish to add lockers using the factory locker switch?
I’m installing the brake controller and for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to unplug all the connectors to the panel. Every video skips that part.
Hate to sound like that guy, but if you're planning on adding Rubi lockers and sway bar, why didn't you just buy a 2dr Rubi? What would be cool is if you could've have gotten custom buttons with that instead of having them "Aux 1,2,3,4". Six years in for the JLs and I'm really suprised someone hasn't made custom buttons for the factory switches. Cool install video.
@@DIRTROADCRED No problem. Hope my post didn't come off negative. I just thought a basic Rubi could still leave room for a build. Do the base JLs have the Offroad+ or can that be added since Ryan has that button installed?
random question but did you guys ever cut 4 door rubi rails to fit Ryan’s 2 door? I remember awhile back that was mentioned? only asking because I wanna buy some second hand to make fit on my 2door 😂
Nah we threw these on right before we went wheeling, didn't have time to shoot a video.. They are made for 2 doors. We have some long term plans for side steps soon!
Great video!
That flappy-doo is called a “Happy Flap” because it’s always over the positive cable.
🤣
The more I learn about the Tazer I cannot wait to get one… as always guys another great video! 👍
Thanks for watching!
It's well worth it 😉
Awesome! I’d love to see Ryan install the Rubicon electronic swaybar disconnect on his JL and see if the new switch will actually work 🎉
You've got to be kidding me! Take my money please! Great product and video. Thanks!
As a fellow Ryan, I feel extra special watching these videos. :D
Love to hear that!
Excellent install video. This is a really cool way to get the rubicon switches and it looks factory. Awesome!
sure is
Excellent install video. It’s nice that they look like factory from the interior.
Got some big plans for the next video 😉
@@DIRTROADCRED can’t wait to see it!!
Love the Tazer JL and now this setup. Very cool.
So glad you love your TaZer
@@zautomotive We do, we recommend them to anyone with a Jeep JL or JT. We have one on our 2020 and 2024. So many great features.
That looks like a well thought out kit. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the nice comment
This is a amazing kit from Tazer!! I can’t wait to get one. Ryan love the Jeep.
I got the peasant edition JL and Love it! I had a 2023 Rubicon X and had it a year.. didn't need all that.. lol
Nice work fellas. That upgrade is also on my radar! After my Clayton Lift of course.. oh by the way is now ordered!
Good choice!
Do the jeep have the lockers installed from the factory with no switch?
This is a great upgrade! Looking to get a gladiator next year and now not gonna stress if it doesn’t have the aux switches or not. Thanks guys!
Good choice!
Awesome upgrade guy's
Nixe looking 2 door Peasant Edition Jeep Wrangler ya got there Ryan 😂 Keep up the great work guys.
Ryan, Love your “real” Jeep
LOL!
If I buy a sport ima try this out! Right now cobalts got all the options so I’ve been spoiled with wiring
Great install
That flat is the positive glove I think
So are you saying after all that you can only work front or rear locker but not both ?
Great videos always looking forward to the next one. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching!

You could put internal winch controll where the ele tric windo switches go
That would be neat!
i prefer crack windows as well. wow i totally misspelled that! I meant hand crank windows. Thanks for this video though. informative.
Right on!

I didn't see it mentioned in the video, but do you disconnect the battery or any safety steps before handling the terminal? Thanks for a great video!

Alright, Matt, now you’ve gotta make a “Peasant Rated” badge for him.
😂
Matt, if you did this again, would you remove the 3 screws by the passenger side door jam again (8:03 of the video) or did you find that unnecessary ?
crank windows for the win
I don't follow this.... did you add factory lockers to a Sport? Or is it just a button that appears that way?
We are the Rubicon switch work. can you do a sway bar disconnect or do you have to add something else different to your JEEP?
Shop looks great!
Appreciate it!
Would be a great addition for internal power. They are out of stock 😑😑😑 so I’ll wait
You guys should paint the ring on Ryan’s KMC wheels and accent color👌🏽
Got some accents coming!
I didn’t see the wires where you can add or use those switches to control lights
Hey Matt, I hate to see you learn the hard way, but you should remove your wedding ring when working around batteries. Ouch 🤕!!!
lol good tip!

Whete did you get the “Aux Switch” panel? Is there a place to order those?
does this work with 2018-2023 wrangler sports?
I was close with my guess on IG!
Hey guys- doing some more good upgrades. Ryan doesn’t that make you nervous when taking your Jeep apart😮.😊
Always careful when playing with interior pieces!
Is it the same unit for a gladiator that has the lockers switches already
What do you do if you have a snorkel running there can you relocate it?
Hearing that they buttons are not backlit with this kit, is that still true?

Correct! Fun upgrade in the next video with these switches.
It shouldnt be red. Looks like your trying to make a rubicon. Are you swapping the hood as well?
Rubi XR
Is there a way to identify aux switches at the rely?
Looks awesome, can you use this on a 2023 Wrangler?
Yes you can!
That’s the positive terminal mud flap.

Some of it can, just not sure how hard it is!
Maybe I missed it but where does the new module connect with the stereo etc screen so that you can access the switch control preferences.
The adapter box goes behind the HVAC controls.
Does it make sense to acquire this if I have factory auxiliary switches but no factory lockers, and I wish to add lockers using the factory locker switch?
It works well just for that, I just like that it uses the stock switches!
@@DIRTROADCRED I like that too - I'm one of the weirdos that like to keep things as OEM in appearance as possible 😁
This is never in stock. Everytime I try to order one and it always says sold out.
Can someone help me create a window lock delete? I'd like to replace this button with an "all up, all down" switch.
So what are the fuse ratings for each circuit?
They are listed on Z-Automotives website
