Can’t speak to most of those ideas but years ago, I think it was 60 minutes or dateline, something along those lines, had a reformed career car thief on to talk about theft prevention measures and the one question I remember so clearly - “let’s say there are two identical cars you want to take. One has “the club” installed on the steering wheel, the other doesn’t. Which one would you steal?” Without missing a beat the ex thief says “both”. 😂
As a former Deputy, I can tell you for sure that the reason the ( CLUB ) was discontinued years ago was because ( A Chain Is Only As Strong As It’s Weakest LINK ) what the Bad-Guy was doing was cutting through the steering wheel and removing it..lol But it has had a big comeback because insurance agencies are giving big discounts for using these THINGS.
After 3 attempts of stealing my Jeep, I just lost it and did this lol. Now I'm at 5 attempts but the hood alarm scares them off, you gotta love the Tazer Mini. (The hood alarm should be enabled by default from Jeep, I don't understand why it's not). - TAG/Domino GPS system from my dealer - Key fob Faraday bag - Steering wheel lock - Electrical Kill Switch with remote - Tazer Mini for the hood alarm and also the PIN number to lock the wheels if the PIN is not entered in timeframe. - My own GPS system with removal and motion sensor. - Ring Cam pointed at the Jeep I know this looks like overkill, but these guys are relentless. They just don't care, and the police care even less. Insurance costs are insane up here in Canada and now I can sleep with both my eyes closed. Hey, if they steel it with all of the above installed, they deserve it lol.
I had one in my '40 Ford & worked great; accept that I was the only one that was prevented from moving the car when I forgot it was on. Stupid human trick 😒
I have a C&L Throttle Response Controller which has a "Lock" setting. When that is on you can put the accelerator to the floor and the Jeep will only go about 1 mile per hour. Also, sometimes I will put the transfer case in Neutral and put a hat over the lever. A lot of times if someone is trying to steal the Jeep they will start to panic not knowing why the Jeep isn't going anywhere and will bail.
My first Jeep was a 2005 TJ. I had an alarm installed that had a proximity feature. They dialed it in so it would only go off when someone reached into the Jeep since I had the top off so much. There's probably a lot better tech now but it worked really well!
I have the tazer definitely would get that, it has a pin lock setting where you have to put in a code before driving. It locks up all the brakes, ive tried it and put the jeep in neutral and neutral on the transfer case and it wouldn't budge. And i also have it set for a alarm to go off when the hood is open when the alarm is set. Theres many other settings you can do and there not all about security.
The best is the compustar t13 alarm combined with the Igla alarm system. All together you have live gps and with the igla you put a specific code combo, for example. Left turn signal, horn, hazard combo then it will start. So they can have the key fob, alarm fo, your keys or if you have a charger, the red key fob. Unless they know the code combo it's not going anywhere.
9:20 a issue with this, is that when your Jeep has zero power it also can't set the alarm off and honk to scare people away or alert others.... also, Instead of bothering with that on your battery, just unhook your battery terminal for long term, it takes the same amount of time/effort for a thief to bypass it! BUT Instead of putting it on your battery, put it on your STARTER feed wire! Then the jeep will still retain power, and the security system will work, but won't crank over unless you "unlock" the device! :)
Forget the steering wheel locks, or any locks that deal with the steering wheel. They cut the steering wheel to get off. Been a victim of that.Use the brake/clutch pedal lock. that is good and I use on my jeep. Not too expensive($70) and it works. The wallet rfid wallet works.
Great anti-theft review! Another option to add to the anti-theft list is a kill switch for fuel pump and/or starter (this would be a custom DIY project idea since your hiding a switch somewhere). Oh, and Trunk Monkey.
I love it with the club..... Those of us from different centuries 😅 That made me crack up. I can tell you from all the thefts of vehicles, especially the higher end 392, hellcat, etc vehicles they are being picked up like hotcakes, re VINd and sold on Facebook.
Some good (and bad) ideas. I’m nearly 48 so I remember when the steering wheel club was a new thing. Those are easy to bypass. The two best ideas are the pin (which I had no idea existed and is awesome) and a kill switch. I’m buying a 6-speed manual so that’s a third layer of protection for my Willys.
My best prevention for my jeep from all the jeeps I've owned is all my jeeps have been stick shift (manual transmission). Apparently knowing how to drive manual is turning into a forgotten art.
Once again brother great video! However I would test the solar charger in that device when placed behind the tinted windshield? That might not let enough sunlight through to charge?
Just wondering why you couldn’t take the power lock switch and just install it on starter wire only. Then you wouldn’t lose all your setting. Starter still wouldn’t work. 😜
My wife's 2020 JLU Rubicon was stolen in Fort Worth a couple weeks ago. It is suspected that a fake tow company may have taken it. GPS is now in my 392 with a motion sensor dashcam.
How about just disabling the passive entry, and add a kill switch. That will slow them down. Couple places on line sell prewired harnesses for our jeeps that interface with the start stop button. Those are cheap ideas. The IGLA are better solution. Oh yeah my radar detector companion app will tell me anytime it picks up an air tag or tracker. I'm sure the thieves have even better.
The reason why the clubs failed is because your steering wheel is the weakest part of the interior and you can just hacksaw a piece out of it and take the club off so not a good deterrent. The brake lock works pretty good though and can be used when the top is down and the doors are off.
My 2022 392 was stolen last year from AUS airport parking garage. At the time I was told the "club" was best for theft deterrent and hidden air tag was best for recovery. I had nothing but UConnect. I was gone less than 30hrs when I came back to it gone. Vehicle was not recovered, but was tracked about a week after it was stolen. Even had GPS and UConnect contacted law enforcement because the vehicle reported it was in an accident on the property where GPS showed it. By the time law enforcement were allowed access by the property owner there was no sign of the vehicle. Our thinking was that the thieves corrected whatever mistake they made disabling the system which reported as an accident. UConnect stolen vehicle recovery was useless. Trade offs for all theft prevention. Would love to have OC Spray into the cab of the vehicle if the alarm is triggered or glass broken, door ink packs like banks use (in the color of your Jeep) to mark the thieves... anyway.. great content, as I am sure you can tell I still miss my Jeep and won't forget that event or the attempted recovery.
If anyone believes that car theft rings don't have people in the operation that know how to drive stick, then by all means , rely on your 'secure' manual. 😁
Donut did a video something similar to this … people are going to take a saw to it and cut it in a few seconds and it’s gone. This day and age people here call alarms and don’t even bat an eye anymore.
All of those don’t work, good at helping but don’t work. Best thing to do is kill switch the OBD2 port. All of them trackers don’t work at the moment they have your Jeep they will use a signal jammer. Dont waste your money on any of these. Buy a switch anywhere from $5-$10 switch and tap to yellow wire that goes to the OBD2 port. And hide the switch. Don’t tap it near the OBD2 port. Tap it away from it like somewhere between the ECM and OBD2 2 port. I know all this because my neighbor son is actually one that steals cars. And sells them. His life not mine and no I’m not telling the law about his. Not my business to.

I’ve eliminated many thefts with my built in theft deterrent- MANUAL TRANSMISSION!
I had that
Then I upgraded to a 392 and boom gone
...and if they do manage to steal it there'sa always the chance the clutch flywheel explodes :)
Same…no roof, no doors and I’m fairly certain I could leave the keys in it.
😂 funny but neutral and a tow rope says nope.

An angry grill works pretty well 😂

I added a hidden kill switch wired to the push to start button. Instantly kills power to the button. Works awesome

Genius. 👍🏼
OHHH I love that Idea. any links to schematics on how i can do this also? Thank you in advance.
Hood latch locks to prevent them from getting access to your engine and on board security camera that will store the video online.
This is a concern I am wanting to address.

just showing me what to do with my future jeep its amazing
Just got my first wrangler and been looking into anti theft measures. This video is perfect, great recommendations.
My first Jeep was a 2005 TJ. I had an alarm installed that had a proximity feature. They dialed it in so it would only go off when someone reached into the Jeep since I had the top off so much. There's probably a lot better tech now but it worked really well!
The only mommy mini van for me is a 4 door wrangler lol@@-TheFiddlersGreen

Out of all the thieves, the insurance company were the biggest thieves discussed.
I love it with the club..... Those of us from different centuries 😅

Hidden toggle off starter signal wire works well
Drone security and tracking is what I got along with the club lol
I'm from another century and still use the original red "CLUB"! My wife makes fun of me but I don't care. I call it my "80's theft prevention" LOL
The power disconnect doesn't have large enough wires to handle the power cables. Those small wire have to be for the start circuit only.
Thanks for sharing some cool ideas‼️
My best prevention for my jeep from all the jeeps I've owned is all my jeeps have been stick shift (manual transmission). Apparently knowing how to drive manual is turning into a forgotten art.
Some great ideas ! Can’t wait to see you in Smoky Mountains!
Apple air tag hidden in all my vehicles give me piece of mind.
Once again brother great video! However I would test the solar charger in that device when placed behind the tinted windshield? That might not let enough sunlight through to charge?
3:06 "Defcon level one and the MALL CRAWLER MISSING" ... LOL
My favorite mod is actually using my garage to store my car in it... 🤣
Just wondering why you couldn’t take the power lock switch and just install it on starter wire only. Then you wouldn’t lose all your setting. Starter still wouldn’t work. 😜

For the apple air tag it's good but you need to open it up and take out the speaker so they can't locate it with the beeping. I use that

Sawing the steering wheel makes the club ineffective
Sensor on door armrest might help
great tips guys!!
There goes the memory to my clock ,presets of the radio, Bluetooth and updates with that battery power killer
There is a you tube on how to disconnect the speaker on the apple air tag so it will not beep and they can't tell they are being follower

Tazer has a PIN mode that is easy to activate.
My wrangler battery got stolen while out eating. Any suggestions?
Get some kick ass bear spray 😅
Hood locks might deter them . But won't stop them.
Did they make taser for bronco raptor?
I've always wanted a quick release steering wheel... BUT i have a feeling that I'd lose that also. 😂
A kill switch or OBD relocation
Tazer JL mini
#11 my manual transmission

OR...you can remove the push button start and splice the red onto a Toggle switch and there you go - KILL SWITCH. WOrks every time...
back in the day, early 90's we would remove the entire steering wheel,

car theft rings? absolutely. But the random meth-head maybe not

gr8 video. thx.
For long days away from the vehicle good old fashion plug wire removed is the best & cheapest deterrent.
Couldn't you just pull the starter fuse. It would be a PIA after a while.
Item 1, Manual Transmission
Please ,the club reinvented. The steering wheel is made of aluminum.a small cut with a hacksaw and that device comes right off
My dealer absolutely wouldn’t take their pre-installed LoJack off my invoice. I can imagine that pro thieves will disable those quickly
What about the corrosion problem?
Can not stop them…if they want it they will take it.
Centuries. lol. Thanks.😆
✌️
Day 11 of asking Jeep to bring back Mango Tango Pearl.
👍🏼💯🎯
How come you Don’t speak about the JL corrosion Problem.

Don't strap it down seriously.. Boot it cameras even its black and white
Hell my key isn't detected in my pocket
