"...and I've got 5 gold rings...", he says, cool as a cucumber. Dude, I'd be bouncing off the ceiling! Thanks for sharing this awesome hunt...and I gave your channel a plug in my vid from yesterday. -Tim
Not just an awesome spot, but one incredible spot! Your finds are simply killing it right now! Truly enjoy that you allow us to follow along! It is an amazing trip!
Theres more videos of finds I just haven't edited yet , one video there was a unique find that I or anyone that I seen on videos find , cant wait until I get that one finished up for you guys to watch !
Two of the greatest back to back hunts I have ever witnessed ! The only video that beats these would be Aquachigger's huge silver day which also took place in a body of water. A river crossing I believe. Thanks for sharing. Truly what we all hope for !!!
Thanks , rivers have a lot of potential with research. We were definitly shocked with all that we found. We figured to only find a few coins and maybe a ring if we were lucky .. But definitly surprised that no one had detected it , a lot of locals ended up finding the place from the videos even with the landmarks I inserted of random areas to throw anyone off !
Amazing finds... As to 'locals' I suppose one must be VERY careful what to post, until one has completely finished detecting a "silver-n-gold river'. When I heard you say, "pavilion" I immediately thought you were at a park--where else other than a pier could offer some form of rental boats for weekend lovers and friends to canoe or row... leaving change-n-rings behind. Thanks for sharing--it was great spending a couple hours with ya! ~k~
Thanks for the great videos and congrats that's the find of a lifetime, I think I would just set up camp there for a while. Looking forward to the next hunt.
I love your channel so much!!! Those gold signet ring and I think the other one might be a cameo ring are beautiful. I am a huge fan of antiques and yesteryear collecting. Beautiful river there and so clear thanks for sharing this with us. It’s amazing to see old coins and rings. Great video and it lifts my spirits since I am mainly home bound due to chronic pain illnesses. Your videos are a real treat.
Great video and some AWESOME finds. Wow all that Gold and silver. That V nickel that was so shinny was great. What a great day. You need to go back and hunt it some more. Good job.
What an incredible site...hope you can keep it un-detected till you are finished with it. Gotta be some goodies up on the land around there too. Can't wait to see some more...good luck next weekend.
Wow! I just watched part 2 and now this one as well.... Unbelievable! If I were you I would take a months worth of vacation from work... pitch a tent on the river and take it for all its worth! Congratulations on a great spot and a number of great finds GL and HH Van Jr.
Thanks for watching , just got back from there today after spending 6 hours in there , Uploading a new video of that hunt sometime tonight , hope you enjoy it , and thanks again for watching and commenting..
great video. great finds. did you check the 1916 merc to see if it had a D mintmark? if it does, you have a key date and rare find. also keep in mind that until the 1920s, gold and silver jewelry wasn't hallmarked. some of the rings you and Dan found may be gold pre 1920s. keep the videos coming. I enjoy watching.
I wasn't lucky enough to get a d mark on any of the 16's I found . yes all the rings that weren't marked are definitely gold. except for the gold plated ones , those you can definitely tell the difference , those are flaking and and are dark in color.
Like my "Happy Hunting Ground" you'll have give a nickname to that INCREDIBLE place on the river. Maybe..." Good & Plenty"...So much Beautiful Gold & Silver and old Nickels. You are finding in 3 videos about as much as someone can detect silver in many months...gold as in a freaking year or more😃 What a "Silver & Gold Mine" ..yet another name. BIG CONGRATS TOM🏆🏆🏆🙌🙌🙌
WOW. thank you for sharing your inspiring video. This looks like a fun activity to take up with my boy. You really hit the jackpot on this spot. How cool is that. All that history and old coins. Amazing. happy Hunting :)
Literally a gold mine, outstanding hunt. Once u guys hunt this area out it will be hard to top, that can spoil u! Got me looking forward to next video...
yes , we definitely got lucky finding a virgin site , virgin sites to detect are very rare , I have another location to check out once this one does start to dry out , but with work , and the kid , I don't have many free days to get out there to detect , hopfully I can get out there for a few hours one day this weekend , thanks for watching
You found a killer spot!! I really couldn't sleep with a clear conscious leaving that place with goodies behind for any amount of time. Lol I think I'd request a vacation and just stay there until I couldn't get another signal!!! I hope you keep pulling goodies too!! Awesome
I am actually thinking about taking a vacation day next week so I can get a solid day to detect in there ! Im only able to get out for a few hours this weekend..
Beautiful old gold rings you found Tom . They would bring high $$$ on ebeay & probably enough topay for your CTX and then some . Cool old coins as well .
I sure this area has been hit by others in the past. Hunters get discouraged when there's a lot of bottle caps, pulltabs and other junk in the water. Also river current plays a part in moving some of sand so that your closer to the target. Your river reminds me of the river I'm hunting. Could you imagine what is deeper? Bigger gold!
Well if you have a river like this one don't film it !! We were actually the first ones in there after a little more research the water level was too deep for anyone to detect it. Earlier construction a ways down river made the water level drop. My big mistake was releasing the videos of this site where a few locals figured it out and started helping themselves.
Fascinating...I know you will protect the river location. But, what region of the country are you in, if willing to divulge? Also, if looking for a likely spot on the W Coast, what characteristics would you suggest, please?
Hi, enjoyed your video. Remember 28 grams is only a common (avoirdupois) ounce, used for weighing everything EXCEPT precious metals. Gold is weighed in TROY OUNCES which are 31.1 grams. And, as others pointed out, make sure you check the reverse of that 1916 Mercury Dime for a "D" mit mark, a 1916-D mercury in really worn (AG - about good) condition is still worth 400-500 dollars.
Awesome spot you found. That place should give up great finds for a while. That silver ring at 3:30 with the arrowhead and the wolf track in it, I found one just like it and was actually my first silver ring find. How cool is that? Keep attacking that place and GL!
Great finds!! Huge Congrats... The CTX is silver magnet.. You can use some electrolysis to clean up those silvers, they will look like new.. Good luck and keep us posted!!
Thanks for watching , This year I am just going to keep them how I find them , then at the end of the year , I will put everything I find from the rivers into a display frame to show all the different stages of colors and toning and tarnish that silver can have from being in the water for a hundred years ..
@@hiluxyota7200 I gotta ask .... It seems I only hear people talk about collecting them .... I get that but .... then I also think about selling them .... doesnt anybody sell them if not WHY?
@@findokhistory3009 the coins aren’t really worth anything but scrap silver value due to the condition of the coins. The gold rings to me are works of art and to me have history to them. Ive got the ctx 3030 also, and was going to start ocean beach water detecting. Did you modify your 3030 at all for the water? Like using the new o-rings for the battery compartment or silicone around the battery compartment or usb port? Thanks!
Thanks for watching , Im actually going to upload a video of how I keep it sealed .. yes I did get the upgrade kit with the silicone grease . Such an unbelievable site. What type of research lead you to that area or what made you hunt it? Amazing to still see virgin areas found in our day and age. Huge Congrats man!
Thanks , and thanks for watching , Dan actually found a few old photos of this spot in 1912. after scouting around for a bit , we saw a few clues in the photos that put us directly on that area ..we were amazed ourselves of how much we found , we figured we migh of found a few coins each if that !!
This was an old swimming area and park with a beach where the trees are today. It was a popular place for high school kids in the early teens to late 1920's

Just curious do you think that was an old swimming hole? Definitely another amazing day on that River!! That is just absolutely crazy everything you found in this vlog!! God bless!!
fantastic site~ no coincidence those valueables are in a central local. 'heartbreak pond' or some such? research may reveal a very interesting story about that spot.
'heartbreak pond' Daniel, PERFECT name for the swim hole! Each of the gold 'heartbroken' have lived a lifetime of looking at the creek\swimhole (maybe skinny dipping with the girls at the time when a 'kid') having had mixed memories of the lost ring! Never know!
We were definitely excited , more in disbelief than anything .. this is also a place where a lot of fisherman always fish , or people on kyaks , so a lot of times I have to try to not seem excited so I don't draw too much attention
Fresh water , yes Its very rare to stumble upon a virgin site like this , we both figured we would maybe find a few old silver coins each , If that , but we definitely were shocked at how much we found , my back is still sore from digging !
Thanks for watching , I never owned any gold , or even found any until now , I didn't know that gold was measured in troy ounces..I still don't even know what a troy ounce is yet !!
Just wondering what setting you had the ctx on when you had in the water. I've just purchased at ctx and still getting my head around it, any tips you are able to share would be great. Thanks

That gold cameo ring is in incredible condition. It doesn't have a scratch on the cameo part amazing.

EXCELLENT hunt. what a great spot.
WOW. Awesome hunt. I'm curious though, so many HS rings and old coins. Where was this river near to? An old H.S.? an old fishing pond?
This was an old swimming area and park with a beach where the trees are today. It was a popular place for high school kids in the early teens to late 1920's
What you guys found the day before and this day, should pay for your machines, if you think like that... and that 1918 Walking Liberty are going for something like 2 or 3 Hundred Dollars in Fine Condition. I enjoyed watching your video.
Thanks for watching , Its very rare to dig a coin in fine condition from the rivers ! but I will definitely keep trying !!

So what was so special about the spot in the river where you prospected? Why would there be so many rings in one location????????
Cuz hes full of shit
What an exciting day detecting! Wow!
also never wear/put on jewelry, without cleaning/cleansing. it can be done with water & prayer, during the day.
Have you studied that area from the past? Maybe it would shed some light as to why all the silver is there? This is way to interesting.
this was an old water park in the early teens to late 20's. they did construction ferther down river which lowered the water level
This is an incredible series of hunts at a killer site! Is the river fresh water or salt water?
Fresh water , yes Its very rare to stumble upon a virgin site like this , we both figured we would maybe find a few old silver coins each , If that , but we definitely were shocked at how much we found , my back is still sore from digging !
If all those rings were 10kt then my scrap gold calculator says about $460 for 25.6 grams...Congrats Tom🙌🙌🙋
Thanks for watching , I never owned any gold , or even found any until now , I didn't know that gold was measured in troy ounces..I still don't even know what a troy ounce is yet !!
Sweet finds!
Does it seem a little strange or even a little creepy to find so many rings in a river? Great finds!
Not when it was a swimming site. i have found the same types of rings and coins at 3 other sites so far after this one.
Crazy awesome Congrats.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful rings!
That one ring with the roman head is a "cameo" ring.....!
Thanks , I learned a lot since these ring finds , about the history , markings and jewelers that made them
what do you do with all your finds
I keep everything I find and put them in my swimming hole display
Do you have pictures of your swimming hole display?
I will show it one of these days on video
Just show's a little research can pay off big time. Well done :-)
Yes it does .. we were really lucky that its never been detected ..sites like that are very rare ..
Just wondering what setting you had the ctx on when you had in the water. I've just purchased at ctx and still getting my head around it, any tips you are able to share would be great. Thanks
Was that an old swimming hole??
Yes. back in the late teens to mid 1920's this site was a hot spot for swimming..
