I burried a whole lot of tightly fixed jars like this about 25 years ago in the property I grew up in, plus some other 'time capsule' type containers.. I haven't lived there in nearly 20 years.. I sometimes think about going back and getting permission to search (I know the rough area I buried a couple things, though others nfi) - but I prefer the idea of someone else stumbling across it.. Nothing super valuable (some trading cards, old coins, etc - but nothing super rare or anything) - but would certainly be a cool find for someone.. I did this when I was about 8 or 9, I really loved the idea of buried treasure, plus we had a time capsule at my school that always fascinated me!
I did the same thing as a child of around the same age , between 6 and 8 or 9 years old.would put some small toys , a few coins and a note in a plastic peanut butter jar or a glass Mason jar and dig a hole and in it would go ,that was about 60 years ago . I have often wondered if anyone ever found any of my "time capsule treasures ".
The cups look like egg poaching cups - part of a set, usually 6 plus the shallow pan that holds water and the insert that has holes that are just slightly smaller than the cups. If it were complete, there would be a lid as well. Super great video. I have to admit, with every jar you found, the anticipation increased. Thanks.
As many others have said, it's not uncommon for kids to bury things just for the fun of it, imagining they're burying a treasure etc. I have done this too. But it was a wooden box filled with some small coins, some fake jewelry, a note, and other small things I could fit in there. =)
Don't apologize for the long video, this is one of the best U.S. metal detector vids i've watched. Usually I have to watch U.K. vids or European vids to see historical finds. This was a great video with awesome finds, well done!
Weird spellings? That's witchcraft. Each jar was used for a certain "spell" sort of speak and then they were buried according to custom. The coins are to get money or to take money from someone or even for good luck gambling. The jar with the heart is a love spell. That person was very superstitious. If you start hearing noises in your house now you'll know why. :)
From the research I've done, what you're saying is exactly what I've been reading. My wife won't let me bring the jar into the house so it's been in my garage since I found it. I'm not superstitious myself but I will admit it's a little creepy.
If I see one more treasure hunting video where the person rubs the dirt off a coin by GRINDING it between his grit encrusted, gloved fingers I am literally going to cry. Please, for the sake of numismatists everywhere, carry a dollar store spray bottle with water and rinse these off carefully. I know most are very worn anyway, but you never know when one of your finds will be some uncirculated, rare piece and you will literally scuff thousands of dollars off its value with your grimy gloves. No disrespect intended, just a bit of advice from someone who learned the hard way.
You’re not alone on this! It’s so cringeworthy I can’t watch and have to fast forward, the sound even bothers me from potential it’s the most wasteful sound in the world.
Never use water on items that may have Gold. Those items will be destroyed by wetting them. The surface will get washed off being so old!!!! Do some Research Dennis!!!
That jar looked like it had SOUL, LOVE, WINGS and saved on it like it was a jar filled with items of a deceased friend or family member. Can’t wait to see what’s in it.
Best hobby ever! Also, I’m Wiccan and when I do certain rituals I bury jars with stones and coins that have important dates on them along with other objects depending on whatever I’m doing. Such amazing finds!
Hello great find. Be carefuii when you remove papers from the jar. They will be brittle because of moisture inside and can make them break apart. If you have any doubt contact a conservator of papers.
Hrm, lets shake the bottles with delicate coins and brush off the coins with harsh mud on my glooooooves. Good luck guys hope you find more relics, fun stuff!
....must have been a small house (no cellar) at some time which got destroyed or burned down...but the homeowners needed to leave a trace of their presence in memorial.. ..so sweet and sad too..💕
Awesome video!! I lived in the DC area for years and was lucky enough to have a job that required the use of metal detectors. The sheer weight of silver coins and silverware I've found is F'n crazy! Arlington and Alexandria are my favorite for treasure hunting.
Just found you. About the piece with the women presenting their hair, I watched a short documentary about a small village where the women all still follow ancient tradition & never cut their hair. Part of the grooming process is to go to the river & help each other wash, comb & twist their hair. That piece you found might be related to that. If so it's very rare & special
Jeremy 77 , do you have sure evidence The book of Enoch is false and if not be careful calling it satan , you don’t want to blaspheme the Work of The Holy Spirit . Again provide evidence The book of Enoch its false, thank you
I'm wondering if those papers you thought something was wrapped in weren't actually just saved for the paper. The one looked like it was a cut out article from a newspaper.
As a kid I used to play with coins and hide things like jewelry coins marble earrings chain etc in a jar so I believe wholeheartedly that some kids used to play here and burried this stuff , about kitchen utensils it’s not a kitchen utensils it’s a toy to hide coins and other things
Totally cool , buying my first detector tonight . Saw this guy a few weeks back and he showed me all his finds that he keeps with him . Silver rings gold rings , I asked if I could buy his gold but he says he does videos of his searches and so I didn't bug him about that anymore . I've wanted to metal detect for a few years now and now is the time , hoorah
+Hardworking American Hope you find some great stuff. Dig all signals until you get use to the machine. Trash is part of the hobby so don't get discouraged when your finding it. Best of luck out there
Quarter Hoarder Sure thing . I actually spent 2 hours more last night on EBay and forums to get the most info I could before putting down close to grand on a detector and sand scoop . I'm going with the Whites MX Sport . A guy has a bundle deal for around 770 . I need one that can get wet and be submerged . I was on a popular river this summer that has tons of people rafting and drinking . I saw a Fit Bit and snatched it as we went by . After that the bells went off in my mind . One can only imagine all the stuff that is in that river including naturally occurring gold nuggets . I need some time learning this equipment before tackling that river , the shallow parts wouldn't be to difficult but the deeper swimming holes could be dangerous . Bringing a friend on that adventure would be wise . I buy storage lockers and have been doing that for almost 10 years . I love the hunt for treasure but these 10 to 15 hour days are kicking my ass . Next spring I can fish for stripers or surfperch and use the detector at the same time . Any suggestions on how to videos for the newbie metal detector . Anyway thanks for the reply and hope you score something insanly awesome like a bucket full of Double Eagles .
I grew up on a farm. As kids we did this all the time... buried stuff. If we detected that farm we'd find those same things only not quite as old. You should go back to where you found the thing you thought was a kitchen utensil, from that hole you pulled out a hunk of glass from a jar, which may mean someone buried something in that jar. To me, that "bank" looked like the case for the clock or jar lids. Also, here is a tip for you guys: In the Midwest behind every farmhouse, usually to the end of the pasture there is a farmstead dumpsite.
WOW... all the little treasures someone, looks like to be a child's treasure that he collected...that all you seem to be interested in is the coins. I WOULD LOVE THE BOTTLE AND THE LITTLE BITS OF NEWSPAPER!!!!
"old hook piece" is the star 'rose' from the front of an old steamer trunk and "this old lock to a toolbox" hooks into the side straps of a steamer trunk as well.
I need to swap to beaches. I detect in Hertfordshire England and find nothing. You gotta be lucky to find the £2 million hoard like the chap who found the Saxon, Staffordshire hoard. Instant millionaire. Some find £200,000 hoards but split with the land owner and museums it's a tidy sum to ease the stress of bills, mortgage etc. I watch Ed the beach hunter and he has a great time cause he finds modern day jewelry and purses with 1000 usable dollar's in them. Every trip he finds gold and I find WW2 bullet casing with lots of cow suit on my boots.
Wow those sound like impressive scores! I've never detected a beach before, pretty odd since I live about 1/2hr from the ocean. I think I just like to find the old stuff more I guess. Everyone has their own version of treasure and as long as they find it, that's a good day!
Fantastic! I'm so happy for you brother. Well done. I can't wait for the next video. I just don't understand how anyone who watched this video could give you a thumbs down.
Thanks man. I don't mind the haters with the thumbs down. Probably kids that just hate anything but video games! lol Not much could ruin this hunt for me!
The coins and/or rocks etc in bottles were an old ritual way of “divining” a person into being your true love. It was very popular and went on as country rituals until the late 1920’s.
Wow I keep seeing all this great stuff yet we don't get to see you decting orc see you dig the hole I'm not saying it's a setup but it does make me wonder
Shameless You destroyed all the newspapers that is history. Next time don’t be greedy and think about what you do. You don’t even know how to keep from damaging the coins. Stop rubbing them.
That is a shame, the one guy seemed to be a little interested in setting what the paper was and the other guy just tearing thru it. It seems to me if someone had these papers folded up in a jar with nothing else in it then the paper was important for some reason smh
I used to use my metal detector around our military base when I was stationed there in the early 90's. Found unexploded munitions from WWII. While it sounds cool it scared the crap out of me. After finding the third item I was banned from using my detector again because they said I was using resources because every time I found something they had to have EOD come and dispose of it.
@16:54 the 2 metal half globes with the zipper. These were probably probably once covered with leather or silk cloth that rotted away. It was once a coin purse that had a zipper that ran around the center holding the two sides together.
No, don't think so ... the silver "bowl" looking things went together to form a bell. The kind you have on your bicycle handlebars. It must have broke and the kid re-used it as a "bank".
Billy Clark; The three metal cups that he's calling a bank, looks like poached egg cups that my mother use to use. There were usually 6 poaching cup in the set. I could be wrong but, if they were parts of a change purse, there should have been another cup to match the third cup found. Thanks for sharing this video. Stan
I clicked Like already...this is the best Metal Detector Commercial I have EVER scene. "Cept maybe the guy who snorkels in the river and has found SO many guns that he's like the small town Policeman's best friend. Pulling out shotguns, tossed handguns...I just WONDER how many bodies on those guns. Bicycles & stuff too. This a lot of money right here though. Makin' me buy a detector. :-) Good luck guys.
Are the little silver cup things egg poachers? I remember seeing those little poach cups that go in a little tray that fit five or six in a rack. You put the raw egg in them, then set the rack in a pan with simmering water. Three to five mins later you have poached egg.
I'm not familiar with them personally, but I've had several people tell me that's exactly what those are. Luckily for me the person that buried them didn't have eggs inside but old coins instead! Digging up old eggs would not have been half as fun! lol
Someone went to a lot of effort to store memories! Shame you can't see what is in the jars, and keep them intact at the same time... Incredible finds! Cheers, Chris
The item with an “H” on it is a slide that was used on shoes with a flip up tongue. The bent edges fit over two wires that ran along the edge of the tongue. I had a pair of these when I was a kid, in the ‘50’s. These were Sunday school shoes that I could only wear on Sunday.
2 pcs are from a chest/trunk. Latch & lock pin. Very nice hunt. So much more in that area will pop up every time you go back, which you might have. I'm have to check out your other videos for continuing hunts.
haven't read all the comments so if I am repeating something sorry. The little cups you are thinking is a bank are actually part of a six cup egg poacher set. the metal excrusion plate with the round hole and small loop is the center lock of a steamer chest, and the plate with the latch is one of the trunk latches. The egg poaching cups go in a pan filled with water and a round plate with six holes sits on top then the cups sit down in the holes basically making a double broiler and the eggs go in each cup and gets poached.
I would you would respect someone's obvious treasure a little bit more. You're just a treasure hunter and whoever burried that stuff, well, it meant a lot to them before they passed away. It stayed there this long, there was no reason to rip it open like a nine-year-old on Christmas morning.
coastieshak I doubt they mind ... Considering they're long dead. I know what you're saying but pointless sentimentality just holds us back and slows us down. Really, what would the difference be had he acted differently ? Personally I'd rather these treasures be unearthed and returned to humanity as opposed to wasting away in the dirt... But then again, maybe that's pointless sentimentality on my part ...
I truly agree. He should know what that jar is!!! He, obviously is just Greedy n doesn't care about this object that was meant to stay buried by it's owner. Shame on him.
I know this is an older video but I wanted to mention something about that belt slide with the "H" on it. My father worked for a company called Howmet, the problem is it was located in northern Indiana. Then I remembered he had transferred there in 59 from , you guessed it, New Jersey. I believe it was in the Dover or East Orange area. Maybe that might help ID and date it for you.
Awesome hunt buddy! That Bank would've been awesome with just one Indian let alone 3 Fattys, a Seated, ant two nice Flying Eagles! Crazy find there! Nice Wheatie spill. You got some nice Relics also and I can't wait to see what is in that Jar. Awesome hunt brother!
Thanks Jerimy. I don't know what exactly was going on at this spot but man, my best finds ever in one hunt. I've already been back and it's been more of the same. Just bought a 14" NEL coil so I can get a little deeper. Those masor jars were down there.
I thought about it but I don't see anything here on the historical records. I think it may have been an area where local wickens or gypsies held small gatherings. When you see the opening of the mason jar video you might see what I mean.
Sorry Can barely hear. My sound is turned all the way up. The cups look like they could be a ringer instead of a horn that we had on our bycicle handlebars.
Thanks for bringing back a memory. I remember burying a canning jar back in the 60's as a kid, There was something in the news back then about time capsules . I don't remember what I put in it, a few coins, clippings, small toys, marbles and such i imagine, but as far as I know it's still buried at the old house I grew up in. It was common I suppose. And someone like you is likely to dig it up eventually in the future. Course, that 1910 farm house is still standing and is well kept up by the new owners. Have you ever found a baked clay marble? I found a couple, there back then, I suppose they had made their own.
Wow, amazing! I don't care if all that stuff was only worth $100-$200. That was probably the most exciting stash I've ever seen on video. And the suspense of knowing there was more would have had my blood pumping all day. Huge congrats to you guys! And check your private messages. ;-)
I think it's a spell too or kind of a witchcraft things. The newspaper thing inside the jar is a latin and a weird stones use for witchcraft thingy i think .
Cindy Young Paganism has always been prevalent, just not spoken of very much. A Spell Jar can be made for many different purposes from protection or reversing another spell to love. It is a method going back as far as ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
I wouldn't want to be any where near that damn thing!!!! Just looking at it on here gives me really bad... JUU JUU FEELS!!!! p.s. I am mostly self taught.

The entire thing is a witches dumping spot.
Yes I've run into a few your correct
This is hands down the best metal detecting video I've seen in quite awhile...Great finds guys.

Quarter Hoarder that has to be one of the best hunts I've seen.
its black magic. from the slaves. probibly a black soldier in ww 2.
the jar says soul love save. Its a love spell. I wouldnt open that.
very cool.
@Victor Makris It was a magic voodoo jar and I was right and your a trump fart!
My sister's and I used to make time capsules like these all the time. I think about going back to try to find them but the land is so overgrown
The coins and/or rocks etc in bottles were an old ritual way of “divining” a person into being your true love. It was very popular and went on as country rituals until the late 1920’s.
Ya it's all voodoo witchcraft junk.
Wow I keep seeing all this great stuff yet we don't get to see you decting orc see you dig the hole I'm not saying it's a setup but it does make me wonder
Shameless
You destroyed all the newspapers that is history. Next time don’t be greedy and think about what you do.
You don’t even know how to keep from damaging the coins. Stop rubbing them.
I agree!!! He is so not cool at all.
No he is a fucking thief
omg i came to write almost THE SAME comment! all they care about it profit! its disgusting! i was desperate to know what the paper said. lol
Well said.
That is a shame, the one guy seemed to be a little interested in setting what the paper was and the other guy just tearing thru it. It seems to me if someone had these papers folded up in a jar with nothing else in it then the paper was important for some reason smh
HECK OF A FIND !!! Holy Smokes !!! I'm going to share this on my social media. INCREDIBLE. Very happy for you !!!
Thanks so much! Maybe once in a lifetime and I am still shaking. Can't wait to open that jar!
Can't wait to see you open that jar !!!
Digging Canuck pm
Digging Canuck j

I used to use my metal detector around our military base when I was stationed there in the early 90's. Found unexploded munitions from WWII. While it sounds cool it scared the crap out of me. After finding the third item I was banned from using my detector again because they said I was using resources because every time I found something they had to have EOD come and dispose of it.
@16:54 the 2 metal half globes with the zipper. These were probably probably once covered with leather or silk cloth that rotted away. It was once a coin purse that had a zipper that ran around the center holding the two sides together.
Didn't you tell Chris to dig there. Hope you shared with him!
You think it was a bank. I think that zipper went to it and it was a change purse but the cloth has rotted away. Awesome dig man. Now for the jar!
yep i agree the zipper went to the change purse (bank)
Billy Clark I think your right, good call!
No, don't think so ... the silver "bowl" looking things went together to form a bell. The kind you have on your bicycle handlebars. It must have broke and the kid re-used it as a "bank".
Gene Conlon That is exactly what I thought, bycicle bell, briiing brriing!! 😎
Stan
"I feel I should know what this _steamer_trunk_latch_ and _trunk_lock_plate_ are."
Great, you found a massive haul of THINGS!
Those rocks can be gemstones
That little hammer I believe is a sales mans giveaway ,my mom got one from a great granddad when she was a kid , I still have it .
No kidding, that's awesome. I had no idea on that thing. Thanks
Stop scraping it with your grubby thumb! Youre doing a lot of damage by doing that
Omg! Wow! Holy cow!!! Every swingers dream! I found a few jars. Nothing in any of them, so far! 😎
Awesome video. So much fun watching your excitement! Thank you.
Dont rub dirt off with your fi gers or gloves. You will damage its value further
+Larry Stephens Good advice. Gotta work on containing myself. Lol
That drives me crazy when they do that. lol
if you use gloves it's fine
@@kcscoinsandgamingtdctdc953 How do you figure that. THE gloves that I was watching had dirt and grit on them. That was bad advice.
Digging up old eggs would not have been half as fun! lol
That's what I was thinking, Cheryl ! :-)
Someone went to a lot of effort to store memories! Shame you can't see what is in the jars, and keep them intact at the same time... Incredible finds! Cheers, Chris
Thanks Chris. They sure did bury a lot of them. I'm sure there's more there that I'll probably never find too.
Grave treasures for the deceased honoring them with each visit to the person that was buried there.
The item with an “H” on it is a slide that was used on shoes with a flip up tongue. The bent edges fit over two wires that ran along the edge of the tongue. I had a pair of these when I was a kid, in the ‘50’s. These were Sunday school shoes that I could only wear on Sunday.
Ball Jar looks like writing says "Love Saved"
I've heard witches do that kind of stuff and say hexes and incantations prior to burying them.
YUP!!!!!!
This made me want to get into metal detecting. Looks like such a fun and sometimes rewarding hobby!
Finding spots like this is super hard unless you're someone special like a youtuber or an archeologist
Fake dig . Planted
2 pcs are from a chest/trunk. Latch & lock pin. Very nice hunt. So much more in that area will pop up every time you go back, which you might have. I'm have to check out your other videos for continuing hunts.
+Paul Thanks Paul. I think you're right about the trunk pieces. Probably more of it back there if I ever return
haven't read all the comments so if I am repeating something sorry.
It looks like kids buried their treasures. Possibly picked up mum and dad's old junk from around the homestead
Boy that would’ve been a long day with this dude. I’d have to walk home to get away from him! Good Lord!
This is a prayer pit, where they leave things to the spirit that helps them.
Well it's a desecrated site now 🥴
Bro even if that was a special site it wouldn't matter to them devils they've always taken what they want.
@@tlj9461 Something You would never do, Surely !
Omg that is epic...every detectors dream find
Epic hunt, thanks for sharing your finds.
Looks like wicka
Who cares?
I truly agree. He should know what that jar is!!! He, obviously is just Greedy n doesn't care about this object that was meant to stay buried by it's owner. Shame on him.
Mary Wegrzyn he is probably the one that put it there just to make a video!!! The lid would have rusted off the mason jar!!!!
Ah a rare coin, going to zoom in so you can watch me grind the shit out it in 1080p hd 🤣
Those "weird stones" are actually raw uncut opals
Incredible…I’m going out!!
Awesome find in such a small area !! Thanks Guys
That's the kind of find we are all after, congratulations!
Thanks so much! I hope everyone gets to feel that thrill feeling that I did. What a fortunate spot to come across.
TrashureSeeker is
Quarter Hoarder did u get any of the coins appraised 2 c how valuable they were.
TrashureSeeker hotpussy
This reminds me of some kind of ritual stash...folk magic.
When you see the opening of that mason jar video you might just be right....
It is Folk magic. Superstitious beliefs.
QUIT FN SWEARING/QUIT RUBBIN THE COIN FIND/SETTLE DOWN/THANK YOU /NICE FINDS
What a real treasure, incredible!
Those masor jars were down there.
pilliza call me sir ima India 8971425634
Those cups look like collection cups for a church. The tray with a cross. Maybe your at an old church?
I thought about it but I don't see anything here on the historical records. I think it may have been an area where local wickens or gypsies held small gatherings. When you see the opening of the mason jar video you might see what I mean.
Quarter Hoarder, can't wait for you to post it up. Really enjoy your videos!
I think the cups may be for poaching eggs. My grandmother had some that looked similar to those.
Eggzactly what I was thinking!!!
Sorry Can barely hear. My sound is turned all the way up. The cups look like they could be a ringer instead of a horn that we had on our bycicle handlebars.
stop scraping these coins with your finger omg lol clean them right lol
Thanks for bringing back a memory. I remember burying a canning jar back in the 60's as a kid, There was something in the news back then about time capsules . I don't remember what I put in it, a few coins, clippings, small toys, marbles and such i imagine, but as far as I know it's still buried at the old house I grew up in. It was common I suppose. And someone like you is likely to dig it up eventually in the future. Course, that 1910 farm house is still standing and is well kept up by the new owners. Have you ever found a baked clay marble? I found a couple, there back then, I suppose they had made their own.
Us e spray bottle of water to rinse the coins you find. You damage them further by rubing them while dry to remove the dirt
cool videos and great material. Thanks for sharing and greetings from WW2Historyhunter
Thank you! I appreciate you checking it out.
Wow, amazing! I don't care if all that stuff was only worth $100-$200. That was probably the most exciting stash I've ever seen on video. And the suspense of knowing there was more would have had my blood pumping all day. Huge congrats to you guys! And check your private messages. ;-)
JD's Variety Channel Thanks JD. It really was an amazing find. PM'd you back too man.
Wait more toward the end to show everything after it's cleaned up
The round “bank” are. two egg coddler.
Good to know. I thought they looked like water cup you could attach to a gun strap or a belt strap.
Find of a lifetime, I bet you were so excited! The stuff of dreams.
It really did give me chills. Little did I know at the time what was in that jar. Lol.
Love that you’re in standard mode. Lol
DONT OPEN IT ! IT IS A SPELL JAR !
I think it's a spell too or kind of a witchcraft things. The newspaper thing inside the jar is a latin and a weird stones use for witchcraft thingy i think .
ron stewart what's a "spell jar" and wouldn't that be a modern thing or do you think paganisim was prevalent at the time?
Cindy Young Paganism has always been prevalent, just not spoken of very much. A Spell Jar can be made for many different purposes from protection or reversing another spell to love. It is a method going back as far as ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
First thing I thought of was witchcraft!
I wouldn't want to be any where near that damn thing!!!! Just looking at it on here gives me really bad... JUU JUU FEELS!!!!
p.s. I am mostly self taught.
